Read and review!
"Makoto..." Giovanni muttered, looking out his window, at the distant city in view. "It's time..." He smirked. "Get the chips ready, make sure that no one disrupts them."
Makoto nodded, "Got it." He began to walk away, but Giovanni's voice stopped him.
"Wait, Makoto." The boss spun around in his chair to face Makoto. "You are not to be the guard of the generator."
"But, you just said!"
"I said don't let it be disrupted, I mean, make sure Red can't even make it there."
"What about Seifer, or Jillia and the rest of his friends!?" Makoto asked, clenching his fist.
"Pah, he won't ask for help!" Giovanni laughed. "You know him, as I do... He has pride, if he's resorted to help from his past... Well, he's pathetic, and never was what I wanted."
"Okay..." Makoto mumbled. "What about Seifer and Jillia?"
Giovanni snorted. "I'm sure if they go anywhere, it's to me." The boss gripped his right arm. "And I can handle them..."
The heroes all stood at the outskirts of town. "Alright, this is where we part ways." Ash announced, looking at Gary, Dawn and Bonnie.
Gary walked up to Ash and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't you die, you got it, come back in one piece." He said all of that, a tear threatening to run down his cheek.
Ash let at a self-deprecating laugh. "No promises." A smirk present on his face.
Paul nudged Ash in the side. "Don't worry, I'll keep his ass outta death row." He joked with a wink.
The boys all laughed, taking in the moment of true brotherhood.
"Paul..." Dawn walked up, his hands hugging her body, his face downcast.
Paul stroked her cheek. "I'll be back, I promise. I just gotta help this idiot save the world." He said, jolting his head in the direction of Ash.
Dawn let out a small giggle. "I know..." She wrapped her arms around her boyfriend's neck and placed a kiss on his lips. "I love you, I need you... I won't your help... In finding myself."
"Don't worry, I'll be there, right next to you." Paul assured, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Bah, get a room!" Gary growled in jealousy.
"Come now, Gary. They're just happy." Brock scolded with a pat on the shoulder.
Clemont pushed up his glasses and watched Bonnie give Max a hug. "Tch, no stopping it... Huh..." He shrugged, making his arm pick up Bonnie. "Stay safe, you got it!" Clemont said once he had his sister's attention.
"Yeah, I'll be fine!" Bonnie countered.
Gary sauntered up and pulled Clemont into a headlock. "Yeah, no need to worry, Clem, Gary is here to protect her!"
Clemont sighed, "That somehow makes me worry more..."
Seifer walked up to Serena and Misty, whom were sharing a passionate kiss before the beginning of the end. "So." His voice pulled them out of their kiss. "You two are, uh... You know... Lesbians?"
"Yeah..." Misty muttered, glaring at the blond.
Seifer threw his hands up in defense. "Aw, nah ladies, I love lesbians, don't get me wrong!" A smirk crept on his face. "I especially like viewing them in 4K 60FPS!"
Jillia came up from behind and wacked Seifer on the head, making his fall down in pain, and she looked at his as you would look at trash.
"He-Hey, Jill! It was just a joke!" Seifer stuttered out, gripping his head in pain.
Serena and Misty laughed at their antics. "It was... a little funny!" Serena said in-between laughs, having some experience in what he was talking about, which in hindsight should've brought her sexuality to her attention sooner.
"I think on that note!" Ash yelled out, so the whole group could hear. "I think this is where we get going." Everyone silently nodded and looked over all their friends. It was time to end this. Even if most of them were in the dark for far far too long, they were ready to save their world.
It's been quiet, too quiet for Gary's liking. Not because he wanted the town to be attacked, it's just that he expected it... So why was it quiet!? It's been fifteen minutes since the rest of the group walked into the desert in pursuit of Giovanni. Gary was sat in the girls hotel room with Dawn and Bonnie... Waiting. For something, anything! This silence is worse than if they just attacked! Were some of Gary's thoughts. "I thought Ash said that an attack was gonna happen..." Gary muttered.
"Maybe there won't be?" Dawn replied. "Maybe the others already stopped it?!" She happily exclaimed.
"There's no way..." Gary mumbled. "Ash said that it was far out, there's no way that they've already handled everything..."
Bonnie rolled her eyes. "Why are you being like this?" Bonnie asked. "What? Do you want them to attack?!"
Gary leaped up from his chair, his hand in a fist. "It would be a lot better than sitting on our asses doing nothing!" He yelled, gritting his teeth.
"Gary...?" Dawn softly said his name.
"I'm sorry, it's just..." Gary mumbled before falling down onto a bed. "I just want to be useful... I feel like I'm just the sidekick or something... Like the Youhei to Okazaki..."
"I don't quite get your metaphor..." Dawn mumbled in confusion, while Bonnie tilted her head. "But you aren't just a sidekick. Yeah, sure, Ash left you here, but I think that's because he trusts you more than anyone."
Gary perked up a bit. "Really?" He asked.
"Yeah!" Bonnie chimed in. "I don't really know who "Youhei" and "Okazaki" are..." She said with finger quotes. "But you are here because Ash knows you, Gary, can handle it, anything, that comes our way."
A tear threatened to roll down Gary's cheek. "Heh, thanks guys..." Gary leaped off the bed with new found energy. "Alright, we'll kick any ass that threatens this city!"
"Yeah!" Both Dawn and Bonnie cheered.
"But seriously! You guys don't know Youhei and Okazaki?!" Gary blurted out. Both the girls shook their heads. "Alright, after this is done we are watching Clannad!"
Just then an explosion rang in their ears, accompanied by a scream of terror. "We can talk about that later!" Dawn yelled, running out the door.
"Right..." Gary nodded. He spiked up his hair, did a wink and said with a cocky smirk. "Let's save the world!"
An explosion made the rest of our heroes turn around to face the city. They saw a mega Tyranitar spraying a hyper beam onto the streets. "Dammit!" Paul cursed, getting ready to run back, but then his arm was grabbed by Ash. "What the hell man?!"
"We have to trust Gary." Ash stated, giving Paul a hardened look, you can tell in his eyes he truly believed in Gary.
Paul sighed. "Right..." He nodded, getting himself back into focus. "Let's do this!" He started running to the base again.
Seifer walked up to Ash and laughed. "Wow, you must really trust that Gary."
"You saw how he is, you battled him."
"Yeah..." Seifer closed his eyes, remembering the pokemon match with the Oak. "He sure is something..."
Giovanni, sitting in his chair stared throughout his window and he could see small specks running through his desert. "He really did it..." He mumbled, gripping his arm. "Coward, eh Red..." The boss let out a lowly chuckle. "Relying on others...? I thought you were stronger than that..."
"What do we do?" Makoto asked, his bangs covering his eyes.
"Take off your band..." Giovanni mumbled, not taking his eyes off his window.
Makoto looked down at his hand and saw his purple band on his left ring finger. This ring was everything to him... His power, his life... Everything... "But, if I take it off... I could kill Red!"
"That's the plan..." Giovanni stated simply. "He's been nothing but a problem... We'll just kill him and use his blood."
"But..." Makoto's breathing hitched. "If I take it off for too long... I could die..."
Giovanni spun around in his chair to face Makoto. "If you truly believe in my cause... That shouldn't be a problem."
Makoto gritted his teeth, closing his eyes tight. "Of course..." He took his band off, a blue light started to flow through his veins. "I can end this... with this fabricated power!"
"Good..." Giovanni pressed a button on his chair, a wall opened up to reveal a light blue blade hanging on a special pedestal. "Then use the blade."
"Huh?!" Makoto was in complete shock. "But, it will take my life, I don't have the blood!"
"You should live long enough, thanks to that blood in your veins, to kill Red." Giovanni explained, a twisted grin on his face. "You won't die immediately."
Makoto clenched his fist so tightly he risked cutting himself. "I..."
"You'll do it. Won't you?" Giovanni pressed. "You are... my son."
Those words made Makoto's eyes fly open. Your... son?"
"Of course. Jillia, Red, Seifer, hell, even Maya failed..." The boss put on his nicest smile. "You're the only one I can trust now, son."
Tears threatened to flow out of Makoto's eyes. "I'll do it..." He hardened his resolve. "I'll fight for you, till the end, father!"
"That's... my boy." Giovanni wore a villainess grin. "Take the blade, let it flow through you."
Makoto walked up to the blue aura blade, and with a heavy breath, he grasped the hilt. "GAHHHHHHH!" He screamed, falling to the ground, but the blade wouldn't leave his palms. "This... POWER!"
"Yes, let it consume you." Giovanni let out a shallow laugh. "Let it run throughout your whole soul!"
Ash stopped in his tracks, causing the rest of the party to stop with him. "What's up, Ash?" Brock asked.
"That way." Ash pointed to the left. "If we go north we'll arrive at Giovanni's doorstep, but the generator should be that way, to the left."
Max stepped up, "Then that's where I go!"
Ash nodded. "Right, Max, May, Serena, Misty, Clemont and Jillia." He called out to the generator team, looking over each one making sure they were ready, they were. "This is where we part."
Jillia nodded.
Misty and Serena said, "Right!"
Max pushed up his glasses, "I'm ready."
Clemont smiled with a nod. "Just leave it to me."
"Ash..." May walked up to the man. "Stay safe, okay..." She kissed him on the cheek. "I don't want to lose you again!"
"May..." Ash mumbled, touching the place she kissed him. "Don't worry, I don't plan on dying!"
Paul wrapped his arms around Ash's neck. "Yeah, I'll keep him alive!"
May let out a giggle. "I'm counting on it."
Brock put a hand on May's shoulder. "You and the others stay safe too."
Seifer shot a smirk at Jillia. "Don't worry, Jill can handle any grunts that the big dog can send after em!"
Jillia rolled her eyes and motioned the generator team to follow her, since she knew the way. Once they were out of sight Ash hardened his resolve. "Alright, this is it!" He yelled, beginning to run through the desert.
"Yeah, let's do this!" Paul chased after him.
"Wait, guys!" Brock called out, trying to reach them.
Seifer patted Brock on the back. "Don't worry, dog" He picked up Brock with ease and was now giving him a piggyback ride. "I won't leave you behind!" Seifer charged after Ash and Paul, catching up with them with ease, all with Brock on his back.
Max, Clemont, Serena, Misty, Jillia and May ran to the left of the other group with a goal in mind. Stop the generator that was controlling the pokemon. But, May couldn't help but look behind them, worrying about Ash and the others. Then a hand was put on her shoulder. May looked up to see it was Jillia trying to comfort her, she held up a piece of paper that read, "Red is strong, trust me, I'd know, he'll be okay."
May let out a small laugh. "Thanks Jillia, I know..." She closed her eyes. "He's probably dealt with problems that I couldn't even understand."
Jillia quickly wrote on the back of the previous paper, "Maybe, but you can still worry, love. It's human."
May looked at her in shock before smiling. "Yeah, you're right." She nodded, getting back her resolve. "Thanks Jillia."
"Dammit, they just won't stop!" Gary cursed as he was trying to fight off a mind controlled Steelix with his Blastoise. "Shit, I don't know how much longer we can hold on!"
"Can't give up now Gary!" Dawn yelled, she was battling an Onix. "We have to hold on, for Paul, Ash, everyone!"
"I know..." Gary breathed out, trying to calm himself down.
"Maybe you need some help?!" A new voice called out to them.
The trio of Dawn, Gary and Bonnie turned around to see the whole group of masterful trainers. Cynthia, Iris, Alder, Tobias, Alain, Steven Stone and Brandon and Anabel of the Frontier Brains. "How the... hell?" Gary moaned out.
Iris leaped into action, her champion dress flowing in the wind. "We all got a call from Ash!" She let out a nostalgic laugh. "I thought that kid was dead..." She sent out her Haxorus and it started taking on the Steelix.
Cynthia then walked up, her cool persona ever present. "I was surprised to find out that Red Zero was Ash from all that time ago..." She tossed her pokeball to reveal her Garchomp. "But, I will protect this town!"
"I still haven't forgotten Ash's power back in Kalos." Alain said, calling out his mega X Charizard. "So I will help him with anything!"
Alder laughed. "EHEHEHHE, That boy was always fun, so I'll help him and this town out!"
"I still think about Ash a lot..." Anabel mumbled, grasping her chest. "So, I'll help him, no matter what!"
Brandon scoffed. "That boy and Paul, they're both strong, I can't let them down!"
Tobias walked up to a rampaging Dragonite. "Oh dear... You need to behave!" He threw a pokeball to reveal his ever mysterious Darkrai. "I'll end this with ease!"
Gary couldn't help but laugh at the arrival of everyone. "Damn that Ash, he could've at least told us..." He got to his feet with a wild smile. "Well, I can't have my spotlight stolen from these yahoos!"
"Makoto..." Giovanni called out to his subordinate. "Are you ready?"
Makoto's breathing was shaky as he held onto the blue aura blade, his veins dyed a light blue. "I'm... ready..." He grasped the blade with all of his might, the aura, the power flowing through his whole body.
"Good..." Giovanni let out a low chuckle. "Then, go!" He commanded with an outstretched arm. "KILL RED, ASH KETCHUM!"
"Is that it?!" Clemont yelled out, pointing at a strange purple cylinder that was oozing purple mist-like energy. "Is that the chip generator?!"
Once Jillia got a better view of it she nodded her head, telling him that he was right.
"Alright!" Max ran up to the cylinder, pulling out his computer and connected the two machines with a cable. "Let's do our job!"
Clemont placed his pack down and pressed a button that turned into a big computer like machine. "Right, I am ready!"
"Show off..." Max muttered.
Jillia walked up to Misty, Serena and May and showed them a paper that said, "We'll keep watch."
Misty and Serena nodded and May said, "Got it!"
The four girls fanned out, keeping their eyes open and clear in case they see any members of Rainbow Rocket. Max and Clemont were doing their best to get past the tough cyber security that the generator had installed, Max was quickly typing some sort of code into the machine and Clemont was examining the cylinder with safety goggles on and his pack was dictating what was safe to poke and prod and what was not. To the girls it look like a whole lot of mumbo jumbo nonsense, but they didn't care if it saved everyone.
May was getting a little board with just standing around, so she struck up a conversation with the girl closest to her, Jillia. "So, Jillia you were with Ash, when he was was Red?" Jillia simply nodded. "I see... Well, thanks for keeping him alive, I guess."
Jillia blushed and looked away, quickly writing on a new paper and showed it to May, it read, "He mostly saved me..."
May let out a giggle. "I guess he wasn't all that different from back then, huh...?" She looked at Jillia, who was struggling to write words down on a piece of paper. "Hey, Jillia do you know sign language?"
The question took Jillia by surprise and she showed a piece of paper that said, "A little..."
"Then maybe you could use it! Of course, you don't have to, if you're not comfortable with it... But, I thought it would be easier than always using paper!" May kinda stammered out.
Jillia was silent for bit before slowly, with a blush on her face, signing the words, "Like this?"
May nodded with a smile. "Yeah! I know sign language so I can talk to you just fine!"
This made Jillia bashfully smile and looked away. "Thank you..." She signed.
Ash, Paul and Seifer, with Brock on his back, kept running through the desert, getting so close to the Rainbow Rocket HQ that they could almost taste it. "We're almost there!" Ash called out, pointing at the big black building in the distance.
"Damn..." Seifer cursed. "I never noticed how far away it was... Too used to just takin' a copter"
Paul laughed at the blond. "A helicopter, really?! That's badass!"
"And not great for the environment." Brock chimed in.
Ash let out chuckle. "Yeah, probably not..." He look forward in determination. "But we can stop all of that soon!"
"I'm afraid that won't happen!"
Everyone stopped in their tracks when they heard a new voice. "Who's there?!" Paul called out, confused, but Seifer and Ash knew who it was.
Makoto walked up to them slowly, dragging his aura blade behind him. "Hello Red, or should I say... Ash Ketchum?" Makoto had almost died eyes, they were bright blue, the aura pulsing throughout his body. He lifted the blade and pointed it at Ash. "Who ever you want to be... Today... IS THE LAST DAY YOU HAVE!" He charged at Ash with killing intent.
"Dammit!" Ash cursed, he unsheathed his red blade and was able to block the sibling sword in time. The clash caused a surged of energy in the middle of the blades. "Seifer, Paul, Brock go on without me!"
"ASH?!" Paul called out.
"I'll be right behind you..." Ash muttered, trying to hold Makoto back. "Go kick Giovanni's ass!"
"Got it, bro!" Seifer said with a firm nod. He grabbed Paul's arm and yelled, "We got to get the big dog, let's leave this to Red!"
Paul groaned, looking at Ash then at the HQ. "Damn..." He cursed, knowing what he needed to do. "Don't die!" Paul screamed at Ash before running off with Seifer.
Ash knocked Makoto away. "No promises..." He mumbled.
Makoto laughed. "How cute... You would risk your own life to, what? Save the world?"
Ash readied himself, resting his big blade on his shoulder, ready to crash down at a moments notice. "No, to save my friends."
Makoto scoffed. "Wow, you sure aren't the Red I looked up to..." He plunged the blue aura blade into the ground. "Red Zero wouldn't risk himself for such nothingness as friends!"
"Sorry to disappoint..." Ash mumbled, looking into his red sword. "But Red Zero is dead!"
"No... Not yet..." Makoto muttered. "NOT UNTIL I KILL YOU!" He charged at Red and their blades met once more.
Seifer, Paul and Brock, who was now back on his feet, stood in front of the Rainbow Rocket building with determination on each of their faces. They looked up to the window that Giovanni was, no doubt looking out of, at the fight between Ash and Makoto.
"So..." Paul mumbled, side eying Seifer and Brock. "We gonna go in... or just stand around posing?"
"I was waiting for Seifer to open the door..." Brock replied with a sheepish smile.
Seifer sweat dropped and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, like I said... I always fly in..."
Paul went deadpan. "So you don't know how to open the door?" Seifer looked away while scratching his cheek in embarrassment. "Great..."
"Do we just make some noise?" Brock asked.
"If we want to get shot? Yeah." Paul replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Seifer looked around the building and found another door with a sign that read, "Back entrance, leave unlocked!" "Hey guys!" He called out to the other two. "C'mere!"
Paul and Brock walked over to the blond, "What!?" Paul asked, not too happy.
Seifer put his hand on the doorknob, "Found a different entrance!"
Paul scoffed and rolled his eyes. "I doubt it's unlocked!"
Brock nodded, "Yeah, but it's worth a try."
Seifer wink and sent a finger at Brock. "You get, dog!" He turned the knob and the door slowly opened. "See, I'm a genius!"
Paul let out a light laugh. "Or just lucky..." The three walked in and they were in some storage room, it had mops and brooms, plus a weird glass roof. "Ok, where the hell are we?"
Just then the door they just walked through got kicked open and three grunt ran into the room, with guns pointed at our heroes. "FREEZE!"
The three heroes put their hands up and Brock yelled, "Don't shoot!" Seifer exclaimed, "Shit!" And Paul cursed, "How the fuck did you find us?!"
One of the grunts chuckled, "Oh kid, that door has a silent alarm."
"WHAT?!" All three of our heroes yelled.
"It's a random door that says it's unlocked, of course it's a trap!" The grunt mocked with a smirk.
Just then, the glass roof shattered and the four guards were shot in the head with blanks, knocking them out.
"Who's there!?" Paul called out.
"You..." Brock mumbled, once he got a look at their savior.
Jillia was looking around frantically, the mission of hacking and shutting down the generator was almost complete, at least that's what Clemont and Max said, but something was bothering the silver-haired girl. Something... that she needed to stop.
"What's wrong Jillia?" May called out. "You seem on-edge."
Jillia nodded and pulled out a piece of paper, but she sighed and put it away, and signed, "I feel something is wrong!"
"What's wrong?" May asked with a head tilt.
Jillia shrugged and signed, "I don't know, but..." She began running away. "I have to go!"
May ran after her a bit, "Wait, Jillia!" She called out, but she was too fast, and May couldn't catch up.
As Ash and Makoto duel with the sibling blades, three gun shots resounded in the air. Makoto let out a dark chuckle. "Oh dear, perhaps your friends got caught?"
"Shut up!" Ash charges at Makoto, but, thanks to the blue aura blade's power, was easily able to dodge the attack, as if he wasn't even there.
"Now, now, Red, you know what this sword can do..." Makoto taunted while twirling the light blade around. "I can move at speeds not humanly possible!"
"How?!" Ash yelled.
"The blade, Red, you should know that..." Makoto muttered.
"No, not that..." Ash mumbled, looking into his red sword. "You don't have the blue aura... How... how are you using the blade?! How are you not dead?!"
Makoto laughed with pure amusement. "Oh Red, simple minded Red..." He shook his head in disappointment with a smirk. "Don't you remember?"
"Remember what?!"
"Perhaps the name, Aaron... Rings a bell?" Makoto asked with hum.
"Sir... Aaron?" Ash was confused, but his breathing hitched when it hit him. "YOU STOLE HIS AURA!"
Makoto nodded. "That's right... Aaron wasn't one of the blue or red... But he was still a power house..." He looked down to his ring finger, which was now bare of the purple band. "And I used that band to keep the foreign power in my veins and bay..." The man clenched his fist. "With it now gone, my full power is now in my hands!"
"Why...?" Ash muttered, looking down to the ground, clenching his fist. "Why would you do that?! Why would you infuse yourself with someone else's blood?! For what?! Power? Aura? The blades?! Giovanni?!" He looked at Makoto in the eyes. "If it's for any of that... You're a dumbass!"
"Don't judge me!" Makoto swung his blade, Ash dodged the slash. "I thought you'd understand, Red!"
"Why in the world would I understand?!"
"BECAUSE YOUR LIKE ME!!!" Makoto yelled, tears running down his face. "I... I just wanted to make something of myself...You wanted to be a "Pokemon Master" Yeah? I... I wanted to be a good son... But... No matter how hard I tried, all seven years of my life with them... They never cared... My mother and Father betrayed me... I... I just wanted to be a good son, I know I would fail sometimes, but I thought they'd accept those failures..." Makoto slammed the sword down into the ground in anger, causing the earth to shake a bit. "BUT THEY DIDN'T CARE! They just told me to give up! Even after everything I've done!"
Makoto's tale reminded Ash of his past with his friends, he tried so hard to be a Pokemon Master, he knew that he'd fail or lose sometimes, but he thought his friends would always be there for him... And they weren't... "You're right, Makoto... I do understand..." Ash mumbled out, a tear running down his cheek. "But... Do you really think Giovanni can help you? Do you really think he loves you?!"
"IF HE DOESN'T THEN NO ONE IN THIS WORLD DOES!!!" Makoto screamed out in pain. "He... Saved me... When I ran away from my parents, he was the one who found me! He took me in! He fed me! He raised me! He loved me! He needed me!"
"Just because of your past!" Ash yelled back. "Makoto, he never cared about you, hell your name was a code for years, he just wanted to use you because he knew he could!"
"Shut up!"
"He knew that with your betrayal, he could use you as a pawn! He just had to say the right things, make the right faces!"
"Shut..." Makoto held his head in anguish. "Up!"
"He did the same with me! He used me, just as he's using YOU!!"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" Makoto charged at Red with killing intent, using the blade's power to disappear like a phantom, hitting Ash all over. But Ash was able to use the power in his blade to foresee Makoto's slashes and block them. "I'll kill you, Red and then Giovanni with SURELY PRAISE ME!!!!"
Jillia was able to sneak into the Rainbow Rocket HQ, she didn't know why, but she felt like she needed to be here! She didn't want to go fight Giovanni, he is still her father... Just then, she heard voices...
One of the grunts chuckled, "Oh kid, that door has a silent alarm."
Jillia looked down to see she was standing on glass, and past that glass was six people. Three of them were grunts and three were people she knew.
"WHAT?!" All three of our heroes yelled.
Jillia rolled her eyes at the three boys, pulling out twin pistols, loading them with blank bullets, not planning on killing anyone.
"It's a random door that says it's unlocked, of course it's a trap!" The grunt mocked with a smirk.
"Here goes..." Jillia said in her mind and broke the glass and shot the four guards in the head with blanks, knocking them out.
"Who's there!?" Paul called out.
"You..." Brock mumbled, once he got a look at their savior.
"JILLIA?!" Seifer exclaimed. "What'z you doing here?!"
She sighed and signed, "No time to explain."
"Uhhhh, what?" Paul asked, confused by Jillia's hand motions.
"She used sign language." Brock pointed out. "Don't worry, I know it, I'll interpret!" He told Seifer and Paul what she said with her hands.
Jillia nodded at Brock in thanks and signed, "I'm here now, let's get Giovanni!"
The town had become practically a war zone. The streets were a mess, the people all cowered in their home, if they were still intact, and the heroes kept fighting, even to their last breath. "Dammit..." Gary swore. "All my pokemon are spent..."
"Looks like you are too." Iris pointed out with a smirk.
"Quiet..." Gary replied.
"Behind you!" Dawn screamed at Gary.
When Gary turned around he saw a giant Machamp towering over him and Iris, and it was readying a focus blast. "CHAMP!!!" It yelled, slamming his glowing fist down, right to where was standing.
"NO!!!" Gary yelled and pushed Iris away, she fell to the ground in frenzy and Gary got punched by the Machamp. "GRAHHHHHH!!!!!" He flew into the side of a building back first.
"GARY!!!" Dawn screamed out in horror.
"You..." Iris got to her feet and pulled out a pokeball. "Bastard!" She threw the ball and out came her Hydreigon. "Hyper beam!!!" The dragon shot a powerful beam from each head, causing the fighting type to be knocked out. Iris rushed to Gary's side, "What were you thinking?!"
"I... Couldn't let my friends get hurt..." Gary coughed out, blood running down from his lips.
Then, Iris heard heavy footsteps, it was Tyranitar, and it was standing right above them... "Oh Gods..." Iris whimper out.
"Heh, looks like this is the end, huh?" Gary mumbled, closing his eyes.
"NOT QUITE!!!" A voice rang out of all the pokemon, it came from their chips.
"All of you pokemon, regain yourselves!" Another voice came through.
"Is that..." Gary cried out.
"Max?!" Dawn yelled in surprise.
"And my brother..." Bonnie added in shock.
"Heheheh, they did it..." Gary choked out with a proud smile. Just like that, all the pokemon started running away, some even started picking up fallen down house and casting recover on injured pokemon. "I'm glad I could... see it..." Gary closed his eyes with a smile.
"Gary?!" Iris shook his body. "You better not be dead!"
Dawn rushed over and checked Gary's pulse and let out a sigh of relief. "He's okay..."
"Oh thank you!" Iris looked up to the skies.
"He just needs some rest..." Dawn added, smiling at Gary's sleeping body.
It felt like a never ending clash of blades in the part of the desert that Ash and Makoto fought. Each time their sword met, red and blue shocks combined. "C'mon Makoto! We don't have to fight!"
"That's where you're wrong, Red! I MUST KILL YOU!!!!"
"I've already killed Maya, I don't want to kill you too!"
"Don't think I'll die as easy as her!!"
The two were sent flying after a heavy collision of their blades. "Makoto... Why do you want to recreate the world?"
"I don't... Honestly, I don't give a damn about anything... Or anyone..."
"What about May then?!"
Makoto flinched at the mention of her name. "She... Never loved me..." He said with a wry smile. "Maybe in the new world..." He couldn't help but laugh. "No, that couldn't happen... This world, and its inhabitants... Mean nothing to me anymore!"
"Then you are truly lost!"
"I think that was obvious..." Makoto got in a fighting stand. "Get ready, Red... I end this... NO- AGH!!" Makoto fell down in pain, holding his arm, the blade falling to the ground.
"Makoto?!" Ash ran up to the man and rested him on his lap. "What's happening?!"
"It's begun..." He choked out, coughing up blood.
"What has?"
"The change..." He showed Ash a sweet smile, ones that he only showed his loved ones. "I'm sorry, this whole time... You've been... Creating the energy... for the recreation..."
"Those sparks!!!"
"Yup... You figured it out... of course you did... Sorry, man... I don't think we can... finish our duel..."
"Makoto!"
"I... I knew I was gonna die... the die Giovanni put that blood in me... I was cursed... with a power... I never asked for..."
"Then why?! Why would you work for him, for so long?!"
"Because... I felt good... I felt... wanted... Now... looking back... I killed, stole, kidnapped and more... all for someone's approval... Heh, damn... I'm... pathetic..."
"Makoto..." A tear rolled down Ash's face.
"Hehehe, what you cryin' for, huh? You're our... leader... you've gotta... be strong... Hell, I'm your... enemy..."
"No, you're my brother! All that we've been through... Don't die, not like this!"
"Hehehe, who knew you were such a cry baby..." Makoto closed his eyes, his face at peace. "Don't worry about me dying... The world is on course to rewrite itself..."
"Yeah... I can't stop now..."
"So go... Leave me... I... Just want to lay her... Maybe chase some cars... around my... head..."
Ash got up and whipped away his tears. "You do that..." He started running towards the HQ.
"Yo, Red..." Makoto called out, causing Ash to stop. "Just know... I've got no regrets..."
"Good to know... Rest well." Then Ash heard a strong gunshot resound throughout the land. "I wonder... Is he..."
Paul, Jillia, Seifer, with Brock back on his back, ran through the HQ with relative ease. The only ones who were still with Giovanni were weak grunts that just hate the world for petty things. Before long, they stood in front of the metal door that Seifer and Jillia knew all too well. "This is it..." Seifer mumbled, helping Brock off his back and pulling out his ceremonial sword. "You ready, Jill?"
Jillia nodded and signed, "Paul, you hold off the remaining members, Brock, get ready to assist us with any injuries, me and Seifer will handle Giovanni."
After Brock told Paul what Jillia just signed he nodded and said, "I don't like leaving it all up to you two... But, in the end... this is more your fight." He smiled and gave them a thumbs up. "No grunt is getting past me!"
"Jillia." Seifer placed a hand on her shoulder. "I don't plan to keep the big dog alive... You don't want he dead... you better leave now."
Jillia froze for a minute, but sighed and gave Seifer a smile and wrote down on a piece of paper, "I'm ready, I, we can't let him live and do more horrible things!"
"Damn straight!" Seifer nodded with a full grin.
Just then, the metal door opened without warning and a powerful voice reached all of their ears. "I know you are there... How about you come in?"
The four walked in slowly, Paul was watching their back. "Giovanni..." Seifer muttered.
Giovanni stood up from his chair and clapped. "I'm surprised you made it this far." He let out an evil chuckle. "I'll admit, I'm impressed."
"None of us are seeking your approval, bastard!" Paul cursed at the boss.
"A mouth on this one..." Giovanni mumbled in irritation. "I remember the last time someone spoke to me like that." He looked at Jillia. "It didn't end well for them..."
Jillia froze in fear at the reminder of her vocal cords being taken away.
"This time she's not alone!" Brock placed a comforting hand on Jillia's shoulder.
"Oh please!" Giovanni couldn't help but laugh. "Do you have any idea what she's done?! Who you are protecting?"
"The past doesn't matter!" Paul yelled out, pointing at Giovanni. "What matters is how you walk your future, represent your present!" He got in Giovanni's face, not scared of him at all. "And who you are as a person!" Paul clenched his fist. "THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!!!" He gave Giovanni a quick, heavy punch to the jaw, causing him to fall into his desk.
Giovanni growled like a beast. "You insolent brat!" He got off the desk and pulled out a revolver from his coat. "You think you understand the world?!" He cocked his gun, "Dumbass, you don't even know suffering!" Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a large wooden sword slammed into his side.
"Nah, big dog, da man's got some good points!" Seifer chimed in. "I've made a shit ton of mistakes, mostly because of you, but it wouldn't be right to blame you for everything... I've made some crap calls myself... But, I've learned that I can make up for em! Yeah, the world is harsh, but it can also be kind! No way I'm lettin' you change it!"
"Oh Seifer... You little shit..." Giovanni cursed, gripping his side. "You think you know suffering?! I... I tried to live an honest life! But, this world is shit! It will never give you happiness! It will only dangle it in your face and then take it away! Just to make you suffer!"
"Even if you've suffered..." Brock added, walking up to the man who ordered Makoto to cripple him for life. "Even if that suffering makes you do things you regret, no matter what... You must never give up, it's never too late to start again. Everyone can change, grow and dream. Even you, Giovanni."
"Don't pity me..." Giovanni crawled around, looking for his revolver. "You understand, don't you, daughter?!"
Jillia walked up to the man who is her adoptive father and stamped on his hand and picked up his revolver. Once he was done groaning in pain she looked him dead in the eye and signed, "I... Loved you... So much... I did... but, it wasn't real... Nothing was back then... I hate you... I love you... You are my daddy... But..." She pointed the revolver at him. "You are not allowed to live any longer! You've had chances! You've had time to regret! But, you didn't!"
"Please, Jillia... You wouldn't kill your daddy, would you?!" Giovanni pleaded, practically begging, it was pathetic.
"No... I'd never kill my father." These signs made Giovanni smile. "But, I'll always kill a villain!" She pulled the trigger and shot Giovanni in the forehead, ending his life in an instant.
As Ash was about to run to the HQ, the window that Giovanni always looked out of shattered and out came four figures. They spotted Ash and ran up to him.
Paul punched Ash in the shoulder. "Look at you, you bastard, still alive, huh?!"
"Yeah, last one standing..." He looked at the body of Makoto.
"Makoto..." Seifer groaned, looking away.
Makoto's body twitched, "What's wrong, Seifer..."
"MAKOTO?! You're alive?" Ash exclaimed.
"I guess... that Aura is the real shit..." Makoto laughed. "C'mon Seifer, Jillia, don't cry alright... This... is how it should be..."
"Yeah..." Seifer mumbled.
"And Red, the world... is about to change... Your existence... doesn't belong there..."
"What are you saying Makoto?!"
"You... figure it... out" Makoto's breathing hitched and his body went limp.
Ash ran up to Makoto's body and checked his pulse, making sure he was really dead this time. "Don't get up, again... Alright!"
"Ash, it's over, if you couldn't have guessed." Paul said, walking up to Ash.
"No... it's not." Ash replied, standing up. "The world's recreation is inevitable."
"What do you mean?!" Seifer yelled. "We stopped Giovanni! AND MAKO!"
"The blades..." Jillia signed. "Makoto said that the world is about to change."
"You're as smart as ever..." Ash mumbled, causing Jillia to blush. "Yeah, you're right, the battle between us started the world's recreation!"
"How is that possible!" Paul screamed is disarray.
"The energy that the blades created caused the recreation, just as Giovanni planned."
"Dammit!" Seifer punched the ground. "That bastard is dead, but still fucking us over!"
Brock put a hand on Seifer's shoulder. "We should get back to the city and regroup with the others."
"I agree, let's go!" Ash announced.
The assault team and the hack team met up and ran back to see the state of the city. "Damn, this doesn't look great..." Seifer mused as he looked around the city.
"I guess we weren't quick enough..." Max uttered in regret.
"Hey, you did a good job, kid." Paul patted Max's shoulder.
"IS THAT YOU, PAUL?!"
Paul turned around at the sound of the voice. "Dawn?!" The girl ran into Paul and gave him a hug. "Hey.…."
"Hey yourself!" Dawn replied followed by a giggle.
"There you are, you sons of bitches!" Gary called out to the gang, he was in bandages and was being carried by Iris.
"GARY?!" Ash bellowed, running up to the spiky-haired man. "What happened?!"
"Got a little frisky..." Gary coughed out, followed by a chuckle.
"He protected me from a Machamp, this idiot..." Iris explained with a wry smile.
"I see..." Ash mumbled.
"So, is it over?" Gary asked, still leaning on Iris.
"Yes... and no..." Ash replied with a regretful expression.
"What do you mean?" Gary asked slowly with an eyebrow raise.
Ash explained the situation to everyone and fear spread across the group. "DAMMIT! This was all for nothing!" Gary screamed, and then seethed in pain.
"Calm down, idiot!" Iris scolded.
"It wasn't for nothing, Gary..." Ash mumbled, looking at the ground.
"Really? It sure seems like it!" Paul yelled in anger!
"What do we do?!" Serena panicked.
"The will be recreated?! That's bullshit!" Misty cursed.
"Is there nothing we can do?!" Clemont asked, frantically pushing up his glasses.
"We can't fight our way out of this... Can we...?" May uttered is sadness.
"Calm down, everyone... I know things seem bleak..." Brock tried to calm the group down.
"Bleak?! This is the end!" Max bellowed in rage.
"Wha- What is this?! What do we do?!" Dawn panicked.
"Nothing... Wait for the end..." Seifer muttered, slicking his hair.
Jillia was frozen, unable to even think.
"What do we do, Ash?!" Paul yelled.
"I don't know..." Ash cried, "I think... This is the end..."
"No..." Bonnie teared up and fell to the ground.
"Is there nothing?!" Gary grabbed Ash's collar, using Ash's body as support. "C'mon, there's got to be something, right?! Something?! Some random Aura shit?! Something with the blades?! ANYTHING?!" Gary lost his grip and fell to the ground. "Anything..."
"No..." Ash muttered, he put his hands in his pockets and felt something he stuffed there years ago. "WAIT!" He pulled out the book that he read those years ago to discover the Aura blades.
"What, you got something Ash?!" Paul ran up to the man and looked at the book.
"Maybe!" Ash read each page of the book as fast as he could. "Dammit! There's got to be a way to stop this!"
Just then, the whole world shook. "WHOOOOOAAAA!!!" The group all screamed, falling to the ground.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Gary yelled out in pain.
"The world... is changing!" Ash replied, still trying to read as many pages as possible. "Gods, there has to be a way to stop the recreation!"
"Maybe there isn't..." Paul muttered, holding onto Dawn. "Maybe this is the end..."
"NO!" Ash yelled. "This can't be the end!" He didn't stop turning pages until... "WAIT!"
"Did you find something, Ash?!" May called out, the ground felt like it was pulling her down.
"Yeah, I think so!" He replied. "We need both the Aura Blades!"
"Well, were fucked..." Seifer mumbled. "The blue blade is still in the desert!"
"Shit! Is there truly nothing we can do!?!?!?!?" Paul cried out in anguish. "I don't want this world to be destroyed!" Just then, a light blue light flashed in front of Paul's eyes, "What... was that?!"
Ash's eyes went wide. "It's the blue aura blade!"
"What's it doing here?" May asked.
"That's why Giovanni never found it..." Ash mumbled.
"What are you talking about?" Max bellowed.
"Giovanni never found the blue aura because he thought it was female locked..." He looked at Paul. "But it was in a male the whole time."
"What are you saying, Ash?!" Paul yelled in anger, he was very confused.
"Paul, you're the light blue aura descendent."
Everyone gasped at Ash's declaration.
"I'm... the blue aura..." Paul mumbled in astonishment.
"Yes, it's calling you."
"Wait!" Dawn chimed in. "What if you're wrong! Paul will die!"
"I'm not wrong, Dawn. Paul has the power, he just never noticed I guess."
"Half-assed explanation..." Gary muttered in annoyance.
"Do it Paul, pick up the blade, I need you to do this ritual to stop the world recreation!"
"Okay... I've got this!" Paul went to grab the blade, but his hand was caught by Dawn's.
"Wait, what if you die!?"
"If I die, I die... I love you, and I know you love me, but I have to at least try this, you can't be selfish, I have to do this, even if I die."
Dawn sighed, letting go of Paul's hands. "You're right..." She kissed Paul. "I just love you too much, I won't be selfish, just don't die..."
"I won't die, I promise." He grabbed the blade and the power started flowing through him. "Feel it! What do I do, ASH!!!!!!?????"
"CONNECT OUR SWORDS!!" The red blade and the blue aura blade overlapped and a surge of energy formed in the middle of the two swords and the air around it started distorting around them. "Don't stop!!!"
"I'm not!!" Paul groaned in pain.
Everyone watched in shock and awe and horror, hoping and praying it will work.
