Chapter 3
"Now, do you see why it's dangerous?" says Daniel's Dad. Tony nods and says: "So, it would just send pictures; and I would need to not look at them?" "Exactly." The door of the record room then opens, a scientist walks in. "Dr Anderson?" he says. "Dr Segal." "What are looking for in here?" "I was just showing my son what he needed to know."
Dr Segal looks at Daniel, then he looks at the file he was holding. "Ahh, just the file I was looking for. Can I read it?" Daniel looks down at the file and says: "Sure. Here." Daniel then hands the file over and walks out. "Thanks mate!" says Dr Segal. He then turns to Dr Anderson and says: "So, why 1471?" "A friend of his tried to get him to download it." "Like a dare?" "No, like a suggestion."
Dr Anderson walks out of the record room and goes after Daniel. Dr Segal looks at the file on 1471, then he looks over at the other files and searches through them. He then pulls out a file labelled: "SCP-914." He holds each file in 1 hand and stares at them. Suddenly, an idea popped in his head. "Who dares, wins, after all, right?" Dr Segal says to himself.
He then pulled out a phone and went to the app store. He found Mal0, but then another idea pops into his head. "I wonder. Did he already download it, or not?" Meanwhile, Dr Anderson and his son were standing next to a coffee machine. "So, you're saying this is a SCP?" says Daniel. "Yes. 294 to be exact." Daniel notices a keyboard on the machine and looks at his Dad confused.
"Why does it have a keyboard?" "Because, you can type anything you want into it. And then it will dispense it," says Dr Anderson. He then walks up to 294 and types into it. The machine dispenses a cup and then it fills up with a clear liquid. Dr Anderson passes the cup to Daniel and he says: "Wanna Sprite Cranberry?" Tony looks into the cup, then he takes a sip and suddenly he became shocked.
"Whoa! How does it do that?!" "We don't know. We just use it for breaks," says a familiar voice. Daniel turns around to see Dr Segal. "Hey, Dr Anderson?" "Yes?" "Do you mind if I give your son a tour?" Dr Anderson thinks to himself for a few seconds, then he said: "Just don't take him to anything dangerous, ok?" "Don't worry. I'll only show him safe things," says Dr Segal.
Dr Anderson then turns to 294 and gets a coffee. "So, what's your name?" says Dr Segal. "I'm Daniel." "Nice to meet you. Shall we then?" Dr Segal leads Daniel down some hallways, then they reach a room labelled: "SCP-914" and walked inside. Inside, is a machine that has an intake and output. Dr Segal approaches another scientist and says: "Dr Gears?" The scientist turns and says: "Yes?"
"I would like to perform an experiment. And I would like only me and Daniel, to be in the room." "Alright then, just don't blow anything up, ok?" says Dr Gears. Dr Segal nods and then Dr Gears walks outside. "So, what is this?" says Daniel. "This is 914: a machine that turns one thing, into another," says Dr Segal. "And, what are we going to do with it?"
Dr Segal turns to Daniel and says: "Do you have 1471?" Daniel looks confused and says: "What?" "Did you download Mal0 onto your phone?" Tony looks away for a second before saying: "No?" Dr Segal then says: "Don't worry. I won't tell anyone." Daniel sighs and says: "Ok, I did." "Can I see your phone then?" Daniel pulls out his phone, he gives it to Dr Segal and he turns it on.
"Ah ha, there you are." Dr Segal then puts the phone into the intake and closes the door. "What are you doing?" Daniel says concerned. "My experiment, is to see what happens if you put 1471, into 914." Dr Segal turns a dial to "very fine" and then pushes a button. The machine starts to make noises and grind gears. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" says Daniel. "Don't worry. Mal0 should be harmless," says Dr Segal.
The machine stops making noises and the output door slowly opens. Dr Segal has an excited face, Daniel begins to get scared, and when the door fully opens, inside is nothing.
