Chapter 5

Meanwhile, Daniel walked back to his dad and they were driving back home. "So, how was your first day?" says Dr Anderson. "It was weird, but it was also ok," says Daniel. "Nothing bad happened?" "No, it was just harmless things." Back at the Foundation, Dr Segal was struggling to work, due to what happened in the room with 914. "Ugh, alright. I should just forget about it and get back to work. Otherwise, they'll notice," he says to himself.

Daniel and his dad arrived home, and they were sitting at the table eating dinner. "Hey Daniel?" Daniel looked up from his dinner and says: "Yes?" "What are you going to do now?" Daniel thinks to himself for a few seconds and then he says: "I don't know. Probably just play video games. Why do you ask dad?" "Just trying to make conversation."

Later that night, Dr Segal was driving home in his car. He then looked up and adjusted his rearview mirror, when he saw something in the reflection, he screamed. It was so shocking that he immediately veered off the road and crashed his car. He was sitting in a hosptial bed not long after that, with a cast around his upper body. Dr Segal looked over his shoulder and saw a bouquet of flowers, with an attached note.

The note said: "Dr Segal. You are put on three-month disciplinary leave for the irresponsible use of SCP-914. Get well soon. Signed Dr Gears." Dr Segal then looked up and saw Mal0 standing in front of the bed. "No. Not you. Please leave me alone!" he says to Mal0. It then tilts it's head at Dr Segal before disappearing again. "Oh Daniel, what have I done?"

Meanwhile, Daniel was on his phone in bed. Suddenly, a notification appeared; it was from Mal0. "I know I shouldn't look, but now I know how to handle it, I should be ok," says Daniel. He clicks on the notification, there was a photo of Mal0 standing outside his house, and a text message that said: "Hi friend." Daniel looked confused, he read the file so he knew it shouldn't be able to send messages.

Daniel stared at the photo, before typing a message that said: "Hi?" Then Mal0 texted back: "Hello. What's your name?" Daniel looked away from his phone, he was super confused by what was happening. Then he turned back to his phone and says: "Daniel." "Hi Daniel! My name's Mal0! Would you like to be friends?" "What is happening right now?" Daniel says to himself.

He then slowly typed into his phone: "Sure?" "Yay! I've got a friend!" Mal0 texts back. Daniel then quickly turns off his phone and lies down. "What am I even doing?" he says to himself. Daniel then closes his eyes and falls asleep. He wakes up in the morning, rolls over in bed and feels a sudden itch. Daniel gets out of bed and pulls of the cover.

On the other side of his bed, are some strands of small, black hair. "How did that get there?" says Daniel. He then turns on his phone and sees a photo from Mal0. His face becomes shocked by what he saw. Mal0 was in his bed, whilst he was sleeping and it was hugging him. A text message then appears and says: "Good morning friend! Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, I did. What were you doing last night?" Daniel texts Mal0. "Oh I though I would keep you warm while you slept!" "How did you manage do that?" Daniel texts back. "The experiment you did yesterday? It worked! You and the other man freed me!" Mal0 texts back. "Ok? So what are you going to do now that you're free?" "I thought I would meet you in person to thank you," says a feminine voice.

Daniel freezes, then he slowly turns around and sees Mal0 standing in his room.
