Chapter 6

"Hi friend," says Mal0. "Oh shit!" Daniel backs up against the wall, shaking in fear. Mal0 slowly tilts her head at Daniel, before walking up to him. Daniel looks away and closes his eyes, hoping his death would be quick. Mal0 stopped in front of him, then she reached out to stroke his face. Daniel opened a eye to look at Mal0, he closed it again when Mal0 gripped his shirt.

Suddenly, Mal0 pulled him away from the wall and Daniel was hyperventilating. Mal0 then puts her arms around Daniel and pulls him in for a hug. He opened his eyes to look at the situation. "What the dog doin?" Daniel thinks to himself. "Please don't be scared. I'm your friend," says Mal0. Daniel hesitated at first, but then he reached up and stroked Mal0's hair.

Mal0 gave a small giggle and Daniel began to calm down. A minute later, Daniel had calmed down. Mal0 let go and stared at him. "What do you want from me?" says Daniel. "All I want, is to help you." "Help me with what?" Mal0 tilts her head and says: "Everything." She then disappeared for a few seconds, before reappearing again with an apple. "Hungry?" Mal0 says as she holds up the apple.

Daniel slowly takes the apple, he stared at it for a minute, and then he took a bite. "So like I said, I want to help you with everything," says Mal0. "What do you mean "everything?" says Daniel. "Well, if you need shopping, I can get it for you. If you forget something important, I can remind you what it is. Whenever you need help, I will be there."

Mal0 then took Daniel's hand in her hand and put it on her skull. He slowly rubbed her skull and a small purr then came from Mal0. "Am I a good friend?" says Mal0. Daniel turned away whilst thinking to himself. He then turned back to Mal0 and says: "Yes. Yes you are." Suddenly, Mal0 reached up to Daniel and licked his face; with a long black tongue.

Daniel then shivered and wiped his face. Mal0's eyes changed shape to show she was sad. "I'm sorry," she said. "Don't worry, It's ok. I just didn't expect it," says Daniel. Suddenly, Mal0 disappeared as the bedroom door opens. "Good morning son," says Dr Anderson. "Morning Dad." "Aren't you coming down for breakfast?" "Yes Dad, I'll be there in a minute."

Dr Anderson then closed the door and walked downstairs. Daniel turned around and saw Mal0 sitting on his bed. "I think your Dad is going to talk to you about work," says Mal0. "What makes you think that?" says Daniel. "Why don't you go and find out?" Daniel turned around and walked out of his room. He walked downstairs and sat at the table for breakfast.

"Hey Daniel?" "Yes Dad?" "I just got a call from work, they want me to bring you back there today." Daniel looked nervous and confused before saying: "Why?" Dr Anderson looked at him serious and says: "Dr Segal is in the hospital. They also said that you both did something with 914." Daniel quickly looked down and ate his breakfast.

Later that day, Daniel was in a interrogation room. Then a scientist entered the room and sat down in front of him. "So, Mr Anderson?" "Yes?" "Would you like to tell me what you and Dr Segal did yesterday?" Daniel looks down at his hands and says: "What do you mean?" "What I mean is, what did you do with 914?" says the scientist.

Daniel took a deep breath before saying: "Well, Dr Segal took my phone, he then put it into 914 and out came nothing." "Are you sure that's what happened?" "Yep." The scientist then takes out a folder and puts it onto the table. He then opened it and said: "Last night, after you both left the room, there was reports of sightings of SCP-1471 running around the site. Can you explain that?"

Daniel looked down at the folder and saw a sketch of Mal0. "As you can see, one of the SCPs saw 1471. And then he drew it, to confirm our suspicions," says the scientist. "But, why are you asking me about this?" says Daniel. "Because, you said that Dr Segal put your phone into 914. So, did you download Mal0 onto your phone?"

Daniel slowly started to panic; but the scientist didn't notice it. He then says to the scientist: "No. I didn't." "So, what you're saying is, Dr Segal downloaded 1471 onto your phone and put it into 914?" says the scientist. "Yes." "But if he did download it, why didn't he use his own phone?" Daniel quickly came up with a excuse. "Because, he didn't have his phone with him at the time. So I gave my phone to him as a suggestion. But I didn't expect that he would try to set it free."

The scientist looked down at the file, then he looked up and said: "Well, I guess that makes sense. So, I guess you're free to go." Daniel looked up and said: "Really?" "Yes. There isn't any evidence to suggest you did it on purpose. But, don't do anything like that ever again. Do you understand?" Daniel nodded and stood up. He then left the room and the scientist went to another room.

"Was he lying?" "It's hard to tell," says another scientist. "The lie detector wasn't working properly." "What do you mean?" "What I mean is, the lie detector was working correctly. But then it started to glitch out for unknown reasons." The first scientist looked at it confused before saying: "Do you think it was 079?" "No. I just checked, and 079 didn't breach anything."
