Chapter 7

Daniel walked down the halls, until he found his Dad. "So, what was that about?" says Dr Anderson. "Don't worry, it was nothing. Just some questions about my thoughts about the Foundation," says Daniel. Meanwhile, watching around the corner is Dr Clef. "Something just doesn't fell right about him. What did he even say?" He then walked into the recording room.

"Did Mr Anderson tell any lies?" says Dr Clef. "Well, we couldn't even tell. The lie detector got hacked," says a scientist. "What by?" "We don't know," says another scientist. "Why was he back here then?" "We thought he had something to do with the sightings of SCP-1471." Dr Clef thought for a second, then he said: "Was there anything else that happened?"

"Well, Dr Segal crashed his car last night. He was taken into hospital, then Dr Gears gave him some flowers and suspended him." Dr Clef looked at his watch and said: "Well maybe I should pay him a visit then." He then took off and rushed down the hallways to the exit. He ran out of the Foundation and got into his car. He sped away from the site and after 30 minutes, he arrived at the hospital.

Dr Clef ran into the hospital and went up to the counter. "Hello, I'm here to see Dr Segal." "Are you a friend, or a relative?" says the lady at the counter. Dr Clef flashed his badge and said: "I'm here on official business." The lady then typed into a computer and said: "He's in room 69." "Nice," says Dr Clef. He then ran off towards the room with Dr Segal.

Soon after, he found it and walked inside. "Hello Dr Segal," says Dr Clef. Dr Segal looked over and says: "Hello Dr Clef. What brings you here?" Dr Clef grabbed a chair and sat in front of him. "How did you crash your car last night?" Dr Segal took a breath, then he said: "I saw 1471 in my rearview mirror, I then panicked and crashed into a road divider."

"So, did you download SCP-1471 onto a phone?" says Dr Clef. Dr Segal looked away for a second, he though to himself: "Should I tell him about Daniel? It was me that set it free though, I shouldn't bring him down with me because of it." He then looked back at Dr Clef and says: "Yes, I did. Even though Daniel was in the same room with me, I set 1471 free. Please tell the Foundation that, please?"

Dr Clef took a breath and said: "Sure, I can do that. Thank you for being honest." He then stood up and walked outside. "He seems honest, but there's still something not right. If he did set it free, why didn't he use his own phone?" says Dr Clef. "I should report back, then I can do some investigating." He then walked out of the hospital, got into his car and drove back to the Foundation.

Dr Clef walked back into the recording room and said: "Dr Segal said that he did set 1471 free. But is there anything we can do about the SCP?" "Unfortunately no," says a scientist. "We don't have a way to capture it, but there is a way we can see it." Dr Clef's face lit up before saying: "There is?" "Yes, we made a device that can be able to see 1471," says another scientist.

They walked over to a box and opened it. Inside is a small camera, that had some upgrades to it. "So, what do I do with this?" says Dr Segal. "Just take a photo of a person. And if they downloaded 1471 on their phone, it will be in the photo next to it's host."
