Chapter 12

Daniel woke up in a white room; it looked like a padded cell. He started to panic and shout: "What's going on?! Where am I?! I'm not crazy!" "We know you're not crazy," a voice says on the intercom. "We just didn't want you get hurt." "Well then what is this place?! Why am I here?!" The cell door opens and two soldiers walk inside. "Mr Anderson?" "Yes?" "Follow us, but don't try anything funny."

Daniel followed the soldiers out the cell, he then looked around the building he was in. It looked the SCP Foundation, but it was different. The soldiers were wearing different uniforms and the logo wasn't the same as the Foundation's. One of the soldiers looked over his shoulder and says: "Just in case you're thinking of escaping, the Foundation won't find us here." "Why not?" "Because we're underground."

Daniel's eyes lit up and he says: "Underground?" "Yep. Which is the reason why they couldn't find us anyway." "Who even are you people?" Then they stopped outside an interrogation room and Daniel gets pushed in. "You're about find out." Daniel sits down at a table, he pulls out his phone to talk to Mal0. "Mal0? Did you know that my Dad was bad? Was that why you attacked him?"

Mal0 replies with: "Yes." Daniel then covered his face, he took a deep breath and he began to cry. "I'm so scared. I don't want to die here. I just want to go home," he whispers to himself. But then he felt something put it's arms around him from behind. Daniel looked up to Mal0 staring down at him. "Don't worry, I've got a plan. Just keep them busy," she whispers to Daniel.

"Mal0?" "Yes?" "I'm so sorry." "I'm sorry too." She then disappeared again, as the door opens and Dr Anderson walks in. "Hello son." "Dad? Where am I? What is this underground prison?" Dr Anderson walked over and sat in front of Daniel. "Welcome to the Chaos Insurgency." Daniel looked at his Dad confused. "What is the Chaos Insurgency?"

"We are a group of people that left the Foundation; so we can terminate SCPs, instead of protecting them." "Why?" says Daniel. "Because SCPs are dangerous creatures with unlimited possibilities. Don't you agree?" Daniel nodded and said: "Yeah, I guess that most of them can do serious harm." "Which is why I decided to become a spy. So I can give information over, and then take my revenge."

"Your revenge?" "Yes, my revenge," says Dr Anderson. "What revenge?" Dr Anderson puts his hands on the table and says: "Did I tell you, what happened to your mother?" "No." Dr Anderson took a breath before continuing. "There was a containment breach, 096 escaped, and when I tracked it down it was too late." Daniel puts a hand to his mouth.

"Are you saying that it killed her?" Dr Anderson nodded. "But, you said she went on holiday." "It was another way of saying she's gone." Daniel covered his face again, then Dr Anderson continued. "That is when I turned to the Chaos Insurgency. I wanted to find a way to kill 096, but I couldn't figure out how." "So what did you do then?" says Daniel.

"I heard there just might be a way to kill 096." "And what's that?" Dr Anderson pulls out a folder and holds it up to Daniel. The title of the file reads: "The Scarlet King." "We believe there might be a way, to harvest the power of the Scarlet King. And if I can wield his gifts, then I can finally avenge your mother." Suddenly, Daniel's phone screen began to glitch out. Mal0's face then appears and Daniel shows her to Dr Anderson.

"That does not sound like a good idea." she says to Dr Anderson. "Well what would you do, if you lost someone close to you?" he replies to Mal0. "Nothing." "Exactly. This will only end, when I wield the powers of the Scarlet King." Suddenly, there was an explosion nearby. "What the fuck was that?" says Daniel. "They're here." "Who's here?" says Dr Anderson. "The Foundation," says Mal0.

"How? They shouldn't know where we are!" Mal0 gave a small giggle, then she says: "Whilst you two were talking, I found your location, and then I sent it to them." Dr Anderson snatches the phone out of Daniel's hand, then he says: "Oh really?! You think this is funny?!" Dr Anderson then threw the phone at the wall, it smashes into bits and pieces.

"No!" Daniel shouts at Dr Anderson. He then punches his Dad in the face and he collapses.
