Chapter 13
Daniel then quickly shouted: "Mal0!" He ran over to the wall and picked up his phone. The screen was broken, so he couldn't contact Mal0. "No no no no no. How do I get out now?!" Suddenly, the door opened and Foundation soldiers ran in. "You! Identify yourself!" one of them shouted at Daniel. "Daniel Anderson! Son of Dr Anderson!" he shouted back.
The soldiers lowered their guns and approached Daniel. "Are you ok Mr Anderson?" "I'm fine, but he isn't," Daniel pointed to his Dad. "What happened?" "He said he was a spy, he wanted to summon the Scarlet King so I punched him." One of the soldiers put handcuffs on Dr Anderson and dragged him away. "The Scarlet King you say?" another soldier says.
Daniel nodded and the other soldiers looked at each other. Then they looked back at Daniel and said: "You need to see something." They lead him out of the interrogation room and into the hallways. "Have a look at this," one of them points into another room. Inside the room, members of the Chaos Insurgency were gathered in a circle; performing a blood ritual.
"This doesn't look bad at all," Daniel says sarcastically. "They sealed themselves inside. We can't break inside; and even if we did, it would be too late." Daniel sighs and says: "So what do we do?" "There might be a way to stop the ritual," one of the soldier says. They all ran into a security room and stared at the computer screens. "We may not be able to shoot our way into the room; but we think we can activate the self destruct and blow it up."
"Whilst they're still inside?" says Daniel. "Exactly." The soldier types into a keyboard, a screen then says: "Activate self destruct. Y or N?" The soldier turns around and says: "Would you like to do the honours?" Daniel smiled and walked over to the computer. "Yippee-Ki-Yay, motherfucker," he says before pressing the Y key. "Two minutes before facility destruction," the computer says.
A countdown appears on the screen, one of the soldiers then says: "Alright sir? We need to run!" Daniel nodded and they all ran away. Meanwhile, a member of the Chaos Insurgency says: "Shit! They're going to blow us all up! What do we do now?!" "Don't worry," says another member. "The ritual is nearly complete. Everyone, we must chant the scared words."
All the members held hands, then they started to speak words in a strange language. Whilst they were chanting, Daniel and the Foundation soldiers ran into an elevator. They took it to the surface and they ran away, as fast as they could. But before they got into armoured vehicles, the facility exploded and they fell over. Daniel got up and said: "Holy shit. Are we still alive?"
The soldiers then got up and one of them said: "Yeah, I think we are." "So, what now?" One of the soldiers opens a car door and says: "Get in. Once we get back to the Foundation, we can talk about you going home." Daniel smiles and gets inside the vehicle. The two soldiers looked at each other, one of them pulls out a radio and says: "We have the target, and his son. The facility is destroyed and we're heading to exfil."
The other soldier then looks up to the sky and says: "Umm dude?" The first soldier puts his radio away and says: "What is it?" "Should we also report that?" The soldiers look up to see the sky; it was starting to turn a crimson red. Daniel looked out the window and he also saw the sky. "What the hell?" Daniel says to himself. Then he heard a laugh from behind him. He turned around to see his Dad sitting behind him; he was still in handcuffs.
"You're too late. It's done," says Dr Anderson. "What's done?" says Daniel. "The ritual. They just managed to complete it." Suddenly, Dr Anderson unlocks his handcuffs and pulls out a small gun out of his lab coat. He points it to his own head and says: "Long live the King." He then pulls the trigger and kills himself. After Daniel watches as his Dad's blood splatters the car window, he jumps out the vehicle.
"What just happened?" one of the soldier says. "He's dead," says Daniel. The other soldier looks inside the vehicle and sees the body. "Did he say anything?" "He said the ritual is complete." The soldiers looked at each other and they said: "Well shit." Suddenly, the ground shook as a crimson red crack appears in the ground. A shadow began to emerge out of the crack.
The shadow grew to become a giant figure. It was wearing armour, in the shade of blood. He wore a crown of antlers. He had razor sharp claws on his hands. And a dozen yellow eyes were staring at the ground.
Daniel and the Foundation soldiers looked up at the giant figure. Daniel then says: "That's a huge bitch!"
