A/N The Lycanthropia reflection somewhat combines the mythos of Grimm and Buffy. Because Sargeant Wu, who contracted Lycanthropy on Grimm looked like a hairy, primitive human, while Oz on Buffy looked like a cross between a wolf and an ape. ;)

Renovations to Oz's home didn't take long and soon enough he no longer needed to use the book cage in the library.

"He's agreed to let us keep an eye on him and his progress regarding control." Xander told Giles. "He really is sort of adjacent to Wesen and his condition was caused by a Wesen, however accidentally. It's possible that other so called werewolves that your Council has run into are wolf Wesen, which is what I originally thought when you first mentioned it, or Blutbaden suffering from Lycanthropia or other humans affected by contact with an affected Blutbad. It may not be as eradicated as the Blutbad thought either. So for the record, we request that if you encounter any you notify the Wesen Council and let them handle it. If you need that made official, than the local representatives will pay a call on the Watchers Council and make the request in person."

"I understand your concerns and I will pass them onto the Council." Giles assured him. "It seems we were both correct and incorrect."

"I apologize if I was rude." Xander stated. "But the idea of the Wesen being hunted by your Council disturbs me. You really have no authority of any sort and you've been around for centuries but seem to do little more than give lip service to any of the views you claim to have. I've seen nothing that shows real support for Buffy, just efforts to control her and it makes me wonder about the Potentials and what you're doing to them. I don't want the Wesen to ever be something you decide to turn your attention too. The fallout potential is terrifying."

"We do have contacts within a number of governments, they keep us informed of certain things and being a Watcher isn't at all what I was led to believe it was. I suppose for Watchers who raise their Potential before activation things would be considerably different."

"That's scary." Xander said flatly. "It implies they raise them to be obedient and probably regard them as living weapons and not people, because you seemed to think Buffy wasn't a person when you got here."

"It's more we thought their Calling should be the focus of their lives, since we are taught the Calling is the will of the gods."

"And yet you have no proof of that. I guarantee if you ever have the occasion to meet the Wesen some of those so called gods are based on you'll quickly understand why they would be offended by your claim, just like the other Wesen are."

"I take it there are no such Wesen living in Sunnydale."

"Not at present, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be here at some future time."

"I will leave Oz as your responsibility and I will let the Watchers Council know about the Wesen Council's concerns over the possibility of Wesen of any sort, adjacent or not, being hunted by us."

"Thank you. I'll see you later."

After that things quieted down in Sunnydale and aside from Buffy contracting a bad flu and needing to hospitalized, which also led to her discovering an invisible demon killing kids also hospitalized with the flu and killing it, nothing of any note happened in Sunnydale until the beginning of May.

"Why is the swim team having their celebration on the beach at night?" Xander asked, standing as close to the bonfire as he could, while wrapping his arms around Cordelia from behind to share his warmth with her. "Especially during a rare cold snap?"

"Because they won their latest meet and it's about time Sunnydale had a winning sports team." Cordelia answered, enjoying the feeling of his arms around her. "Buffy and I, not to mention our whole squad, have wasted a lot of energy cheering for losing teams. It's great to finally have winners."

"Tell me about it." Buffy agreed. "It's too bad Percy, Hogan and Larry can't compete in their Wesen forms, than we'd win for sure." She joked.

"Yeah, by scaring the other team off the court or field." Xander joked back.

"Of course, being this close to the swim team is also making me aware that one of them stinks." Cordelia wrinkled her nose. "I swear, one of them needs a shower bad. I can smell them over here."

Which is when Xander picked up on something else. He let go of Cordelia and turned towards the beach.

"Someone's screaming." He said. "Something's happening at the other end of the beach." He sprang forward, racing toward the sound, Buffy keeping pace beside him. Cordelia, Jesse, Amy and Tika keeping up as best they could.

"Now that's nasty." Xander drew up short and Buffy did as well, both of them staring at what looking like skin, from a human. Just the whole skin of a person.
