The Domino Turtle

After a mission gone wrong Leo finds himself in a future where a new ninja clan has managed to not only take over New York, but the whole world. He joins a group of rebels in their efforts to take down this clan while also attempting to find a way back to his own time, but he feels like his new allies are hiding some things from him...

Well, this wasn't how Leo thought today was gonna go.

He'd normally want to avoid having to fight the military but given the Utroms had actively recruited them and all their allies for this, Griffen's plans must be big enough that they couldn't be ignored. Which as it turned out, they were, given that Griffen had apparently been building a network of weapons in the hopes of eradicating all mutant and alien kind on Earth.

Donnie, Rook, and Rockwell were able to successfully hack into the network all the weapons were connected to and cause almost all of them to self-destruct. Now the only one left was in New York, since Griffen had recognized what was going on and had it disconnected so it wouldn't be destroyed with all the others and given how he was now firing it haphazardly around the room while shouting at all of them, the military commander was pissed that his plan was effectively brought down to a single-city effort. So now they were stuck having to dodge the blasts from both the weapon and the shots the soldiers that hadn't run off when Griffen had clearly lost his mind were currently directing at them, hoping that they could reach the controls and stop both Griffen and the weapon once and for all.

Currently Leo and Mikey were fighting alongside both the Mutanimals and Utrom to take out the soldiers guarding the base of the weapon. He risked a glance towards the controls of the weapons and was relieved to see that Donnie and Raph had managed to sneak close to Griffen without being detected. The pair quickly grabbed the military commander and struggled to try and pull him away from the controls.

"NO!" Griffen yelled in protest, managing to kick Raph in the stomach and elbowing Donnie hard in the chest. "I am not going to be stopped until I've taken at least one of you monsters down!" He gripped the controls hard and aimed before blasting the weapon one last time.

Leo realized in horror that the blast was headed right for Mikey.

His body moved before he really processed what he was doing, he didn't have any time to think. He pushed Mikey out of the way and took the shot meant for his baby brother.

He had enough time to hear Raph and Donnie call out his name, as well as get a good look as Mikey's face went from confusion and shock to dawning horror. Then Leo felt as if his body was getting painfully pulled in many different directions at once, then he heard, saw, and felt nothing at all.
