Two weeks had passed since Winter became a champion and they were the best yet strangest two weeks of his life. The SkyWing culture was so different from IceWings' that Winter couldn't believe it. While the IceWings focused on moving up the ranks, the SkyWings were focused on taking care of each other. They were also much more open to hybrids, after living and fighting alongside MudWings and SandWings for the past 17 years. To Winter, the idea of being okay with hybrids was very foreign due to the IceWings teaching dragonets the hybrids were weak and useless. But, here in the Sky Kingdom, SkyWing-MudWing and SkyWing-SandWing hybrids were actually not that uncommon. They were mostly dragonets and around Winter's age, but they were still there, helping in the war, fighting for Queen Scarlet and Burn.

Winter remembers how his parents would tell him and his siblings how MudWings were weak and dumb and how SkyWings were all grumpy, mean, and hotheaded. However, they were wrong. A few days ago, Phoenix had let Winter meet her future mate, a MudWing born from a blood-red egg. She was an amazing healer and was fireproof so Phoenix could touch her without any worries.

Winter had also met a young SkyWing, named Rabbit, who was so energetic and so talkative. She was a friend of Phoenix, but wasn't into fighting. She also was missing her back left leg, so she wasn't allowed to join the army even though she would be seven in a few months. So she helped Fawn, Phoenix's future mate, with taking care of wounded soldiers.

Fawn and Rabbit had a surprising amount of knowledge when it came to IceWing healing, so Winter let them check his wounds. Fawn was pretty sure that Winter just needed to spend time in the ice pool and his wounds would be fully healed in a week. She had Rabbit help her by making sure that the places where the chains once were weren't injured. Winter had noticed her flinch when she touched his scales, due to their coldness, so he tried to be as still as possible.

I'm not going to really be working on this for a while as I am more focused on a different story, HTTYD: Riders of Night and Light. I may work on his more after I'm done with that story but that's going to be a while as I am planning to write 25 or so chapters in that for that story, probably more.
