Kenzi
The young woman was pacing back and forth in her room. Lauren was right. She's a human and can't predict when her life as a human will be over. She looked at the time and noted that she will need to be babysitting soon. That will be a wonderful time for her to spend with the kids and see how they progress as shifters. Amani is still a newborn Fae. She is a reliable source for Kenzi to observe.
She is not dumb. She knows whenever she is given the serum, a part of her is going to die. There is no way around that. She's just panicked because she doesn't know what it will be like. She is not in a love/hate relationship with Lauren. She knows the Doctor is going to do her best to make sure the serum is safe and make sure Kenzi is fine afterwards.
Then there are the kids, again. What are they going to do with them while Kenzi is somewhere sleeping while her body reacts to the serum? She doesn't want the kids to be afraid, or for Bo and Lauren to lose any time with them either.
"Get out of here." She groaned to herself
Bo and Lauren
"This was a great idea. To do this before our date." Bo whispered against Lauren's neck.
"I thought you wouldn't mind. We need to get it where we can. We have four kids now and we were rarely getting time to make love." Lauren exhaled with Bo in her arms as they rocked, arm and arm, in the shower.
"Have you decided where you want to go yet? Bo cooed. She played with long, wet golden locks.
"No. I'm still reserved to playing it by ear." Lauren pulled Bo under the shower nozzles, and they stood there until the soap and shampoo had been rinsed away.
"That's fine. I was just making sure there wasn't somewhere special that you wanted to go. This is your night, as much as it is mine." Bo turned the water off and took the blonde's hand as they walked out of the shower. She let go so Lauren could dry her hair and get dressed. They dressed in separate rooms so they could surprise each other in new outfits.
Aife and the kids
Charlotte sat eyeing her grandmother. The last she remembered seeing Aife, she was falling asleep.
"I only gave you a little bit." Aife laughed when she noticed the shifter side-eyeing her.
Charlotte huffed and turned to her brothers. The kids played while Aife laughed watching Charlotte try and pretend that she wasn't upset with her grandmother. She can talk, so the silent treatment is adorable.
"What's going on here? Kenzi asked.
"I gave them some special cookies and Charlotte is upset with me." Aife laughed.
"Not the same cookie you once gave Bo? Kenzi gasped.
"No. Of course not. I just made some cookies with a little sedative in it, and it wiped them out." Aife laughed.
"I don't see any harm in that since the boys are well. We might need to check on Amani though." Kenzi said worriedly.
"Oh, she fell asleep on her own. I only gave it to the oldest three." Aife turned serious.
"Okay. Whew. Bo and Lauren would both lose their minds if you did anything to these kids." Kenzi sighed in relief.
"I know what I did to Bo was bad. But these are my grandchildren. I would never put them in any kind of danger. I know they love me, and I love them. We are going to party tonight. No sedatives needed." Aife took a seat.
Kenzi smiled and took a seat too. Aife is always going to be crazy but not crazy enough to piss off a family of shifters.
"Let's get some air, huh? Kenzi cooed as Charlotte and the others turned and ran towards the doors. Kenzi stood back after opening the doors. Aife walked over with Amani and let her watch her sister and brothers run around and play.
"Tire them out before they eat? Brilliant." Aife laughed.
"Yeah well. We have to do something because those three are something else." Kenzi smiled.
"Are you nervous about being Fae, Kenzi? Aife asked.
"Huh? What? Kenzi gasped.
"I heard the three of you earlier. Once you turn Fae, your life will be so much fun. You will be able to kick ass and live for a long, long time. You can walk down the streets, and back alleys and nothing will touch you. Even if something does, you can overpower them or call one of us." Aife smiled.
"Call you? You? Kenzi scoffed.
"Hell yes. I love to beat ass." Aife laughed.
"Okay." Kenzi shrugged. She never once thought Aife would offer her assistance. She turned her attention back to the kids and watched them run and jump. She noted how fast and slow they did everything.
"It's a learning process." Aife whispered as she turned around to get a warmer blanket for Amani. "Nana's girl." She cooed.
Kenzi opened the doors and walked out to sit and watch the kids. She is fairly certain that she wants to be Fae for moments like this. To be around for when Charlotte, Ethan, Dillon, and Amani are parents themselves. That tired her out just thinking about it.
Aife whistled when Bo and Lauren emerged. "Wow!
"Mom, stop." Bo laughed.
"You ladies look beautiful! Aife smiled as she rocked Amani in her arms.
"How's she doing? Bo leaned in.
"Nana has got her. Go. Enjoy your night before you can't." Aife gently nudged Bo away.
"Is Kenzi okay? Lauren asked.
"She's in the late want to be Fae, don't want to be Fae stage. I told her she will love it. Love kicking butt and being around for all of this." Aife answered.
Bo walked towards the doors and looked out. The kids hadn't spotted her yet. But she was able to get Kenzi's attention. "Come inside," she mouthed.
Kenzi walked in and followed Aife's whistle when she saw Bo and Lauren. "Gorgeous."
"Kenz, can I talk to you for a minute? Bo asked.
Kenzi nodded and they left Lauren, Aife and Amani in the kitchen.
"Let's get you something to eat." Aife bounced Amani in her arms.
Kenzi and Bo.
"Watch where you sit in that dress." Kenzi advised Bo. The Succubus wore a strapless white dress and her hair was brushed down her back.
"I'm not worried about dirt in this house. But seriously, how are you doing with this Fae thing? We aren't pushing you to do it. So, I hope you're not feeling like you have to do it." Bo replied as she took a seat.
"Oh, I am a little better with it after Aife's pep talk. It's just the after shot that's worrying me a bit." Kenzi sighed.
"Lauren won't give you anything that is dangerous. It's not because you are important to us. It's because she's as professional, as a Doctor, as they come. She told me she will tell you what you will be before she tells the rest of us. But again, we are not pressuring. I am not pressuring you. You've seen my life as a Fae, it is now always pretty. But I guarantee, you will have our protection, just as you would if you remain human." Bo spoke softly.
"Earlier, I mentally told myself that I would observe your kids tonight. Really see how they act. Sure, they weren't born human, but I want to get an up-close look at them. Outside of being Aunt Kenzi, I want to see how they live." Kenzi sighed into her own seat.
"Well, watch the boys. Charlotte is another story, all by herself." Bo laughed.
"No, I will watch Charlotte too. Watch how protective she is. Try and pick up on her instincts when something seems off." Kenzi leaned forward.
"She is good about that. But seriously, get to know the Fae Lewis -Dennis kids." Bo gently tapped Kenzi's hand. "I got to go. Lauren looks too good not to show off tonight! Bo bit her lip as she stood.
"Go get her! Kenzi danced in her chair.
"Dr. Lewis are you ready to go?! Bo cooed as she emerged in the kitchen.
"I'm ready." Lauren smiled as she kissed Amani goodbye.
"Charlotte, Ethan and Dillon!? Be good for your nana and Aunt Kenzi! Bo screamed out the door before closing it back.
Aife and Kenzi saw the mothers out the doors and turned back to plan their own evening.
"This is wonderful Lauren." Bo smiled as they walked towards a freshly cleaned Corvette.
"I thought you might want different wheels tonight." Lauren held Bo's hand as the Succubus took the passenger side. Lauren walked around and gently climbed into the driver's seat. The women drove down the street and got almost half a mile before talking.
"Italian? Seafood? A steak house? Burgers? What do you want for dinner doctor? Bo cooed as she took Lauren's free hand, squeezed, and released it.
"I still don't know yet." Lauren laughed.
"Well, why don't we drive until we both agree on something? We can see the sites." Bo looked out of her window. It was still early, and the sun hadn't started to set yet.
"Do you want to park and walk? Lauren suggested.
"Sure, let me grab a wrap for you." Bo turned to the back seat and grabbed one.
"I won't be cold, Bo." Lauren spoke softly.
"I know, but you look hot in that dress. You're riling up my Succubus and my panther." Bo blushed.
"Bo, we just went rounds in the shower." Lauren laughed.
"I can never get enough of you." Bo shrugged. It was true. She could devour Lauren for years if she had the time to. But they have a family now. She has to share Lauren with them too.
Bo climbed out of the car and walked around to help Lauren out. She immediately put the wrap over the blonde's shoulders, and they walked down the street, hand in hand. Lauren pointed out everything that she noticed but somewhere to eat. Bo didn't mind. This is quality time too. She walked these same streets for years. But she was never this happy or curious about anything Lauren spoke of. Slowly they walked, until Bo spotted somewhere to eat. "Here?
Lauren smiled, "Of course." She squeezed Bo's hand and allowed the Succubus to walk inside first.
The women were seated in a private section of the restaurant, and they stared at each other over candlelight.
"I don't know what to talk about, besides the obvious." Bo took a sip of wine.
"I haven't worked on her serum again yet, Bo." Lauren smiled.
"I am not pressuring you. I was just trying to make conversation instead of making you mine on this table, and that table, and that table." Bo pointed around the room.
"Bo, I am yours. But I won't do anything in this place. Germs." Lauren shrieked.
"Alright, then I will just sit here and imagine it." Bo smiled as she looked around the room again.
Lauren laughed. Bo will always be insatiable, and the blonde is going to love every minute of it. She knew this the first time that they made love. She was wiped and Bo was ready to go again. Until she was ready to go look for Vex. None of that night was a lie. To either of them. Lauren had kissed a lot of women and the way Bo kissed her far exceeded any kiss the Doctor had ever had before. Even before med school.
"I'll take an entire bottle of that." Bo cleared her throat when the waiter brought them another bottle of wine.
"So, I'm only worth wine? Lauren teased.
"Oh, you are the finest champagne, but one of us needs to drive home tonight." Bo laughed.
"What? So, liquor affects you now? Lauren asked.
"Keep teasing my Succubus, doctor and you will find out." Bo growled from across the table.
"Whoa. That was different." Lauren sat back in her seat.
"Sorry. I didn't know that was going to happen." Bo blushed and threw back another glass of wine. She set her glass down when their food arrived. "This looks delicious!
Lauren laughed again. Bo is being absolutely adorable going from one emotion to another. For a moment she was wondering if Bo's Succubus and panther were battling for control. Whatever it is, she would keep an eye on Bo and everything that happens the rest of their evening out.
They dug into their plates and Bo drank bottle after bottle until her doctor finally ordered the waiter to stop.
"Well, I am full." Bo sat back and rubbed her stomach.
"We can walk it off, we have to walk back to the car anyway." Lauren smiled as she paid the bill.
"I would have paid you know." Bo whispered.
"You can pay next time." Lauren set her napkin on the table and stood up. Bo jumped up and threw her napkin down with less manners.
The doctor reached for Bo's hand, and they walked out of the restaurant. The brunette leaned on the blonde as they walked back to their car.
"You're awfully quiet." Bo whispered.
"I'm just wondering what's gotten into you. You seem like your succubus and shifter are battling each other." Lauren squeezed the woman's arm.
"Orrrrr, it's the beautiful woman on my arm." Bo squeezed back.
Lauren blushed but slowly strolled down the street with her Succubus.
Bo stopped and looked around. When she didn't see anyone, she pulled the Doctor off to the side and into a heated kiss. She felt her Succubus and her shifter moan when the Doctor's lips touched Bo's. She deepened the kiss and gripped the Doctor's throw in her hands. She gently pushed her back against the brick building and deepened the kiss further.
The next few minutes were filled with roars and growls. Lauren reluctantly pulled back and pushed Bo back. She panted staring into deep blue eyes. "I love you too. All of you."
Bo nodded and pulled Lauren towards their car. She let Lauren take the passenger side. She needed to drive to keep her hands busy. She decided on taking the long way home so she could calm herself down. Lauren leaned over and rested her head on Bo's shoulder. She closed her eyes and lips as Bo rounded another bend.
The drive was warm and smooth. Bo didn't say a word but kept driving until they reached home. She gently parked and woke Lauren up. "Babe, we're home."
"Hmm." Lauren mumbled. She cozied up to Bo and the succubus laughed.
"Okay, I will carry you in." Bo smiled as she got out and walked around to get the Doctor. Lauren wrapped her arms around Bo's neck and closed her eyes again. The walk up the steps was slow too.
"We'll go in the back way." Bo whispered as she heard loud music and a lot of roars. The kids, Aife and Kenzi were having a wonderful time. They will join them, but when they have changed clothes. Trying to play with three baby shifters would destroy their evening gowns.
"Hey! What did we miss? Bo emerged first.
"O.M.G., and thank goodness. I am wore out. Mama's home and Aunt Kenz, needs an adult beverage." Kenzi handed Ethan to Bo and ran into the kitchen.
"It looked like..fun." Bo frowned as Ethan pulled at her hair.
"We're having fun, but have you babysat your own kids recently? Aife laughed.
Charlotte was on the couch glaring at her grandmother. "What's that about? Bo asked.
"I gave them a sedative last night. That's why Charlotte's upset with me." Aife turned to the young shifter.
"You what?! Bo and Lauren asked.
"They're fine. It was a mild sedative that I had tested before I gave it to them." Aife raised her hands to calm the mothers down.
"Where is this sedative? Lauren asked.
"Right here." Aife pulled a small vial from her pocket.
"I'll check it out. It better be harmless, Aife." Lauren turned and ran to her lab.
"Mom, next time, check with us first, okay? Bo tried to be calm, but she was just as upset as Lauren was.
"They are my heirs. Do you honestly think, I would harm them, on purpose? Aife shook her head.
"I'm glad you told us. But Lauren is a scientist. She will dissect the hell out of that drug. If it is not harmless mom….." Bo stepped back.
"I checked it. It's fine." Lauren set the vial on the table. Aife took it and threw it into the fireplace.
"I'm sorry, Aife. But please don't do that again without checking with us first." Lauren looked at the old Succubus.
"That's why I threw it away. I don't want any infighting between all of us." Aife took a seat across from Lauren.
Charlotte jumped in Lauren's lap and glared at Aife again. "She won't hurt you baby." Lauren cooed as she rubbed Charlotte's back.
"Where's Dillon? Bo asked.
"He's over there. Amani is sleeping so he's napping beside her bassinet." Aife replied.
"Mom, you are released." Bo said softly.
"Telling me to get lost? Aife laughed. "Okay."
"It's not like that. You are not one to stay put anywhere for this long. Go out. Party. Piss off people. But make sure your antics don't affect my family." Bo patted Ethan's back. She smiled when he burped.
When the old Succubus walked towards the doors, Kenzi passed her coming back into the kitchen.
"I definitely want to be Fae and doc if you need more blood, you better get it after I pass out." Kenzi smiled into her beer.
"Oh, I plan to." Lauren smiled.
"Well, that ends another night in the Lewis-Dennis household. Every kid. Every toe. Every finger is accounted for." Bo playfully wiped her brow.
"Hey! We are great babysitters. You can't blame Aife for being a little over the top either." Kenzi looked back and forth between Bo and Lauren.
"We talked about it. It's cool as long as she doesn't do that again." Lauren stood to grab something to drink.
"Lauren when do you think you could have Kenzi's serum ready? Bo asked.
"If I get to work, right now. It will be ready by morning." Lauren spoke over her shoulder.
"Morning?! Bo and Kenzi screamed.
"By morning." Lauren replied as she walked back to the table.
Kenzi started rocking back and forth. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head, and she started to fall. Charlotte jumped in the way and prevented a hard fall.
"Good baby." Bo smiled as she picked Kenzi up and placed her on the couch. "Are you going to work all night?
"Her serum has been ready. I've had her profile on file since she ate the foot soup. I just need to tinkle with it a little bit more and it will be ready for me to administer it to her." Lauren smiled at Bo.
"Then go work on it. I will handle things up here." Bo leaned in and gently kissed the doctor. She laughed when Charlotte roared. "We're not about to make another baby, Charly."
"I'll see you soon." Lauren whispered and winked.
