Aife and Lauren
"Your aura is pissing me off, doctor." Aife laughed as she walked over to the blonde. She had been watching Lauren for some time and now it was irritating.
"I'm sorry?." Lauren turned to the woman.
"Stop worrying and go have fun!." Aife pushed the woman and Lauren only moved a little bit.
"Well, we are not exactly humans here. Our world needs to remain a secret." Lauren looked around.
"See, pissing me off. Everyone on staff here is all Fae. The humans were sent away overseas for their own vacations." Aife pulled her drink to her lips. It was only orange juice.
"How?." Lauren asked.
"I have connections all over this world. In anticipation of your proposal and eventual wedding with my daughter, I called in some succubus from Berlin. They came over before we arrived and did what needed to be done." Aife smiled as she watched the twins play, run and jump in the sand.
"Wow. Thank you." Lauren smiled.
"My thanks would be you relaxing and enjoying yourself!." Aife pushed Lauren again and this time the doctor ran to Ethan and Dillon.
"Don't worry baby, Nana will bring you back here when you can run and play too." Aife cooed to Amani. Bo was off somewhere with Charlotte. The old Succubus laughed at the thought. She has her hands full.
Kenzi and Hale.
Kenzi groaned softly. "Dude, I told you, I'm okay. We are in freaking Hawaii. I ain't letting luxuries like these go to waste!."
"I know Kenz, I just worry since you're still a new Fae. Your senses and everything has changed. If something is off, you need to tell us, immediately." Hale spoke softly over a cup of coffee.
"Okay. I will. I will tell Lauren, since she is now officially my doctor. If she can't help, I'll call on the rest of you." Kenzi grabbed a drink, downed it and ordered another.
Hale laughed and turned to order another cup. Soon after, they both took off for the beach.
The beach.
Bo stood with her hands on her hips watching Charlotte. She was running from one end of the beach to the other. "What's up?". Lauren cooed as she wrapped her arms around Bo's waist.
"Your daughter is up to something. I know she is. This doesn't look like something I would do." Bo smiled.
"She's having fun but you're right. Something is up with her." Lauren gasped as she felt Ethan and Dillon run by them on the way to their sister.
"That's trouble, I'm telling you." Bo laughed.
The women watched the boys reach their sister but she pushed them back. "Charlotte!?." Bo called out to her.
"I'm just playing, mama." Charlotte replied.
"Let your brothers play too!." Lauren screamed out.
Charlotte shook her head and walked to the shadow waters. "No!." Bo took off. Charlotte held her hand up and Bo stopped in her tracks. Lauren, Bo, Ethan and Dillon watched in awe. Charlotte put a fist in the water and the gang gasped when dolphins and whales jumped up out of the water and dived back in. "See, your baby." Bo whispered.
Lauren sighed and walked over to Charlotte. She looked down at her and put her own fist in the water. The sea calmed and she pulled Charlotte over to her brothers. "Play but stay away from the waters."
"I won't tell her this, but that was cool." Bo whispered in Lauren's ear.
"It was but she has no right to disturb other creatures of nature." Lauren replied.
"See, science stuff." Bo laughed.
The women sat in lounge chairs and watched the kids run and play. Charlotte grabbed a bucket and pail and started to build a sandcastle. Lauren and Bo sat back to see if she could do it without their help. Bo was sure she could, being Lauren's daughter. That kid will always be far ahead of her actual age.
"Mind if we join you?." Kenzi bent over Lauren.
"Of course not, have a seat, you two." Lauren gestured and watched as Hale and Kenzi took their own seats facing the beach.
"I love it here!." Kenzi smiled.
"Are you feeling okay?." Lauren asked.
"Doc, doc, enjoy your vacation!." Kenzi smiled.
"She can't help it Kenz, her mind is always working." Bo grabbed Lauren's hand and kissed it.
"I'll try. I'll try." Lauren laughed.
"We're only teasing babe, do your thing." Bo leaned over and kissed the woman's shoulder.
"Right now I'm wondering how tall that sandcastle will be." Lauren laughed and pointed.
"Holy smokes. That was fast!." Bo screamed.
"What did we miss? I know Charlotte has been up to more than that." Kenzi pointed.
"We have a gifted baby." Bo replied.
"Well no sharks sherlock! What did she do?." Kenzi asked.
"She called on the sea. A whale and a few dolphins came up out of the water. Lauren went and calmed the sea down again." Bo answered.
"You can do that too right, Bo? I mean you have Lauren's powers now too." Hale looked at the woman.
"I keep forgetting! I could have." Bo rubbed the back of her head.
"No worries, Bo. We are both learning to be shifters." Kenzi called for some water.
Bo closed her eyes and opened them again. "It's okay. We are surrounded by Fae." Lauren leaned into the woman.
"No, I don't want to disturb the kids. I can stretch those legs later." Bo squeezed Lauren's hand.
"Speaking of later. When is this wedding of yours?." Hale asked.
"In two days. That gives everyone time to do whatever they want to do before we marry and go on our honeymoon." Lauren smiled at the thought. In forty eight hours she will be married to Bo.
"Um, you have four kids, who will be watching them?." Kenzi gasped.
"Aife has already offered. If she can't control them, who can?." Lauren tapped Kenzi's leg.
"Whew. No offense, but Charly is almost four but really a teenager and very, very talkative." Kenzi rubbed her chin.
"So, you won't be stopping what you may be doing at the time, to help? Noted." Bo mock pouted.
"We'll stop. Hey, you have Fae boys too. I can help with that. Take them shopping for little fedora hats and suits." Hale rubbed his hands together.
"Don't spoil them, Hale!." Bo and Lauren spoke in unison.
"Nah. Just gone take my boys shopping." Hale sat back.
"Cool that will leave me with Amani and Aife can have Charlotte! Whew." Kenzi wiped her brow.
"Awww, who's afraid of Nana's little badass?". Aife appeared behind them.
"Amani! Hey baby! Mama thought Nana would never give you up!". Bo extended her arms and took the baby from her mother.
"Fed, burped and changed." Aife nodded. "What did I miss?." She sat next to Bo.
"Charlotte woke up the sea and Lauren calmed it." The rest answered.
"Wow. I will have to watch that later. That's Nana's babies!." Aife screamed towards the kids.
"We are getting married in two days. The kids will be yours for a week. Hale has offered to take the boys shopping that would leave you two with Charlotte and Amani. Kenzi wants Amani." Bo laughed.
"What? You think I can't handle your oldest? Sweetie, watch and learn." Aife laughed and made faces at Amani.
"You can't spank her mom, she's still learning what it's like to be fae." Bo shook her head.
"Isabeau. She's getting too big to be spoiled from my hands. Besides, I won't need to spank her. She will learn how I operate." Aife cooed proudly.
Bo laughed and it felt great. She was soon to be married to Lauren and they would be on their honeymoon. Their kids will be undoubtedly safe and unspoiled. She is finally able to relax, herself. It has been the time she craved for ever since she stood in Lauren's hospital room walking Charlotte. This is a family vacation soon to turn into the rest of their lives as wives and a family. There's no pending doom. No pending cases she needs to work on. She just needs to work on being a better Bo, and a new wife. Not that there's anything wrong with her or anything she's unhappy about. But she knows everyone can always improve.
Aife set her glass down and walked over to the kids. She stood watching them as the sandcastle grew taller and taller. "All royalty deserves a new castle." She laughed as Charlotte eyed her and went back to work.
"That's your honeymoon until Hale and I step in." Kenzi pointed.
"Why are we sitting in doom and gloom? Turn up the music!." Lauren jumped up and danced in the sand. Aife laughed and joined the gang. The adults danced in the sand while the kids kept building on to their sandcastle.
Hours passed and the gang sat down to a late lunch. Bo never took her eyes off of Charlotte. She was proud that she was staying in her human form without much rebellion. She's probably a geek like Lauren, knowing this isn't the time or place for her shifter to come out. While she trusts Aife's word that they are only surrounded by fae, anyone with a camera or private plane could spot them.
"Charlotte!?". Bo called before she took off running for the beach and jumped in.
"Charlotte!." Lauren screamed.
"I got this one, babe." Bo took off and jumped into the ocean.
"Let it go." Charlotte pulsed a whale.
It didn't take her long before she found Charlotte and ordered her back to the surface. "It's okay. She doesn't understand all about nature yet. Go in peace." Bo pulsed the angry whale and swam back to shore.
"What the hell!? Kenzi screamed.
"We're going inside!." Lauren grabbed Charlotte's hand and waited for Bo.
Once inside Bo explained what happened. The whale had a hold of a dolphin and Charlotte went to stop it. "Well, you need a bath and no fighting me over this." Bo scooped her up and carried her up to their suite and into the bathroom.
"No, mama." Charlotte pleaded.
"You were going to get a bath sometime today. You just upped the time you are getting it." Bo cried as she put the kicking shifter into the tub. She knows the baby hates baths, but she needs to be cleaned up. "Don't feel bad, sweetie. Mama will need a shower too, once I'm done with you."
"Aife, this can't be good." Lauren spoke softly.
"She's a healer doctor, just like you. She's being your and Isabeau's child. Helping and healing." Aife sat across from Lauren.
"She's too small to go into the water in human form. She could probably be bitten by something bigger than her. Maybe this wasn't the right spot for our vacation or our wedding." Lauren shook her head. As a mother, all kinds of hell was going through her head when Charlotte jumped into the water but as a Fae she was sure things wouldn't come to harm the kid. It's just hard to tell her she can't use her fae but on the other hand, being helpful is part of her nature that she got from human Lauren and always Fae Bo. "Tell Bo, I will be back."
"Lauren..." Kenzi called out to the woman but she was gone.
Lauren walked to the elevator and pushed the down button. She walked past the front desk and out to the beach. She never stopped walking until she reached the waters. She put her hand in the water and closed her eyes.
To the whale our daughter grabbed, we are sorry. She's a creature of nature just like you are. We are sorry that she disturbed you. She can't help it. Helping is part of her nature. That said we will be spending the next few days here, so, if you could go somewhere far but close by to feed and play, I will reward you with additional food just before we leave.
She felt the rumble of the water as larger creatures swam away from that part of the island. Now, all they will have to do is keep Charlotte secluded in this area and hope she doesn't grow taller overnight. Lauren went back to their suite and had to wait to talk to Bo. But sat and talked to the others. "I'm sorry, mama." A freshly cleaned up Charlotte appeared in front of her mother.
"It's okay, sweetie. Your mamas understand. We were just worried about you, that's all. Mama fixed it so that you can play in the waters that you swam in before." The blonde picked Charly up in her arms and squeezed her.
"I've ordered dinner for everyone and there's a movie theater downstairs." Kenzi spoke up.
"That sounds nice!." Lauren smiled.
"They even have kid movies." Kenzi looked at Charlotte.
"Okay we will all eat. Bo and I will take the kids to their movies and you guys can go and do whatever you want to do." Lauren gestured with her hands.
"Meet on the beach afterwards?." Aife asked.
"Yes, I'll wait here for Bo, though." Lauren patted Charlotte's back and the gang got the clue that she wanted to be alone with just them.
"Ethan, Dillon, come with Uncle Hale. I need to check your measurements." Hale smiled. The boys laughed and ran after the man.
"I'll feed Amani." Kenzi picked the baby up. "Don't put her down to sleep, yet. She's going back out with us later." Lauren spoke as Kenzi walked away. "Gotcha."
Lauren sighed as everyone else cleared the room. She rocked Charlotte in her arms as Bo appeared. "Where is everyone?".
"Hale is taking the boy's measurements. Kenzi is feeding Amani and Aife left too." Lauren answered.
"We do need to talk about her, huh." Bo sat down and took Charlotte from Lauren.
"Charlotte, we are not mad at you. But you scared us. You are not like other babies, you can't just jump into the sea without disturbing other creatures of nature. We are your mothers and we will help you learn all about this. You are not in trouble but don't do that again, okay?." Bo spoke into her ear.
"Actually you can go swimming, Charlotte, but stay in that area. The next time you sense something wrong, tell mama or mama, okay?." Lauren rubbed her back as her eyes stared back at the blonde.
"What happened?." Bo asked.
"I went down to the ocean where she grabbed the whale. I spoke to everything in those waters. They seemed to listen and went out to find somewhere else to feed and play until I tell them were are leaving." Lauren eyed Bo and looked at Charlotte again.
"I should have done that. I could have done that." Bo shook her head.
"It is okay, Bo. It was done. Nobody is blaming you for not handling it. I didn't think of it until you were in the shower." Lauren squeezed Bo's leg.
"The smaller fish probably stayed though, right? I might want some fish before we leave." Bo looked around.
"They have seafood restaurants, I'm sure." Lauren smiled.
Bo nodded and pulled Charlotte up. "Come on, let's find something to do."
"The gang is up for movies downstairs. Kenzi said they have kid movies too. So, that's our evening, if you want or we can do something else." Lauren suggested.
"Movies it is. It will be good for Charlotte to laugh and forget this afternoon." Bo smiled and stood.
"Okay. Let's go." Lauren smiled and took one of Bo's hands as Charlotte held the other one.
Aife
"Something wrong, Aife?." A lady asked as she took a seat.
"Bring him to me." Aife took a drink and waited. Five minutes later, a muscular man appeared.
"Is it true there is shark Fae here?." Aife asked.
"No. There are mermaid Fae, though." The man answered.
"Get those bitches out of here. That beach belongs to every creature that hasn't left under the doctor's command out of here. No lollygagging. Get them out. My kids will go swimming and they will enjoy themselves. But make it known, any threat and this beach will be drained like you have never seen before." The man nodded and walked away.
"Madam, he lied to you. There is shark Fae here." A woman replied from behind the succubus.
"Then cut his tongue out, but first, tell me what you know." Aife turned around.
"I know there are shark Fae here because I'm one and my husband is the other." The woman replied.
"Is that why you're standing in a bucket of water?." Aife looked down.
"It is. In fact I'm about to return to the sea. I only came on land after the doctor left. We run these waters, peacefully. The little girl wouldn't have been harmed. We know she's Fae, too. We could smell it." The woman replied.
"I'm going to record you. So, say everything that you just told me again. I'm going to take this to my family. That way we know we can have fun no matter what waters we want to jump in." Aife held her phone up and the woman was quick with her explanation before she disappeared into the water. Aife left the woman and quickly found Bo and Lauren. "The waters are ours for swimming. All of the waters are." She played the recording for them.
"That's a relief." Bo and Lauren sighed.
"Now for our movies. Then the beach again!." Lauren smiled.
"Ohh, so if we have the beaches to ourselves." Bo moved over to Lauren.
"I don't need to see that!." Aife turned away.
"You can look. I just thought Lauren wouldn't mind a moonlit walk." Bo laughed.
"Yes and on our honeymoon." Lauren pulled Bo to her and Aife left them alone.
"That's enough for my ears to know, it's time to go to the movies. The adult kind!". Aife screamed from the other room.
"This is going to be great. We can take them on banana boats. See if they can actually swim with the dolphins or ride one. I know I've always wanted to do that." Bo smiled.
"Maybe we can find one tonight and see how that picture turns out." Lauren laughed as she pulled Bo to get the kids.
TBC.
