Bo squeezed the lioness. "I just need to know that we're ok. I can't go anywhere else until I know you and I won't be at odds with each other. So, tell me something. Show me something. You are one of my many loves and you being upset about anything would hurt me too. So, here's the deal. I am taking your mother on our honeymoon. I know you're too young to understand what that is. But mama needs you to know and to believe that I am not leaving you behind. You thought that before and it broke my heart." She cooed into Charlotte's ear as she held her close and rocked with her. When the shifter purred, Bo had her answer. "Now that we settled that. Your grandmother will be watching you. We fully expect you to call on your friends. Grandma is only a succubus. Make sure she's protected as much as she will protect you. Aunt Kenzi and Uncle Hale won't be too far off. If you need anything, let any of them know. We won't be gone long but we just want our family to be safe and happy, ok?." Charlotte nodded. Bo kissed her head and put her down. She laughed when she ran off.
"Going to find her brothers." Lauren smiled.
"I am so sorry about that, Lauren. I didn't mean to delay our trip." Bo frowned.
"No. Do not do that Bo, this is our honeymoon. She's our daughter. I won't fault you for ever being a mother, either. I had no problems waiting. I had my turn with her and the others before you decided that we needed to turn back for a few minutes. No harm. No foul." Lauren took Bo's hands and kissed them.
"I just never shook that feeling when she thought I left her. Me, specifically. When she was born and cried, I didn't know what to do. How to make her stop. Then it was time to learn how to feed her. She had all of my attention when I wasn't at your side. I don't want to be a perfect mother, but I want to be one that my children will know I will never leave them. Outside of our vacations and really this will be our only honeymoon. We can say our vows as many times as we like but I don't need a honeymoon after each wedding. The kids will be bigger by then and require both of us to be hands on. I know the gang will pitch in, but we are their mothers and their first line of support." Bo walked and kept the doctor's hand in hers. Once they checked the kids once more, they turned around and went towards their private plane. Bo held Laurens hand in front of her and nodded for her to board first.
"Bo, she loves you. They all do. She's me with a lot of you. She will be fine. We will all be fine. We know who our family is and will all protect each other. Let's just enjoy them at their age now before school starts and the real chaos starts as well." Lauren smiled.
"Shit. I dread that." Bo laughed.
"Oh, believe me, I know. Charly is starting to talk in her sleep. I could have sworn I heard her recite the periodic table back and forwards as she slept." Lauren smiled big.
"Geez. We are..wow." Bo laughed.
"I know. I know. Isn't it exciting just thinking about it?." Lauren squeezed Bo's hand.
"It is but for now, it is our time, Mrs. Lewis-Dennis." Bo pulled Lauren close and released her when the pilot announced that he was ready for takeoff.
Aife, Kenzi and Hale.
"You're not upset are you?." Kenzi asked.
"Upset that I got Charlotte?." Aife laughed. "Hell no. This will be like raising Isabeau for the first time but as more than a succubus. I will contend with her being a succubus, a shifter and a scientist all at once. That girl is going to graduate with more honors than Lauren."
"School? Ahhh hell." Kenzi groaned.
"We have time, ladies. We are still a few years away from that." Hale laughed.
"She looks content for now, to play with her brothers. Amani is sleeping comfortably. If you have anything that needs to be done, do it now." Aife suggested and took her seat. She loved this. Loved watching Bo's kids be kids. The boys are getting taller and Charlotte is teaching them how to do pushups and pull-ups in their shifter forms. It is still so funny a child of Lauren's hates baths. But she will likely grow out of that. Such a gorgeous family. If Nana can't spoil them, she can at least teach them how to spoil themselves. She poured a glass of juice and settled in again.
Kenzi and Hale
"This is a good idea. We are going to need a lot of food and snacks for as long as Lauren and Bo are gone. I'm a cheetah now, so I know the hunger they feel when they are actually hungry." Kenzi smiled as they drove to the nearest grocery store.
"We could have ordered everything." Hale smiled as he parked his truck.
"This is our time. We won't get a moment's rest once we go back. I love it though. I get to spend time with Bo's kids. I know they are Lauren's too but Bo's kids make it mean more because Bo never thought she would have a family or a true relationship. I think if the doc hadn't helped her to control her feed, she probably would have kept sleeping with Fae but her heart would have still been Lauren's. She would probably never come out and say it directly but Dyson was for feeding purposes and wild sex with a succubus." Kenzi stood still while Hale grabbed a shopping cart.
"Just think, Kenz. One day we could be shopping for our own family. Our own heirs." Hale smiled.
"Boy, I am not ready to be a mother until Bo and Lauren's family are in pre-k or elementary." Kenzi laughed.
"Ok. Ok. I can wait." Hale laughed. "I can't wait to have an heir. I know my dad has always wanted me to have kids but never with a human, now that you are no longer a human, a world of wealth is at our disposal."
"Eventually, I want to go back to work. It wasn't just about making money, it was about busting balls while solving cases." Kenzi loaded some snacks into the shopping cart.
"And Geraldines. We can have it all. You can work when you want and hire a bigger staff to run the club and PI service on your days off." Hale turned down another aisle.
"Yep. We'll do that. Now, cereal time." Kenzi laughed.
Bo and Lauren.
Bo smiled. She was sitting on Lauren's lap and the doctor was kissing her all over her face. "No kids, again, yet." She laughed.
"I know. That's why we're engaging in foreplay for now." Lauren smiled and started kissing the brunette again. Bo moaned at the feel of the doctor's tongue on her neck. As much as she wants the woman, there's never nothing wrong with what they are doing right now. Enjoying each other. The plane was experiencing some turbulence and it didn't stop them from their plans. She was panting and trying to control her own shifter when Lauren gently lifted her up and put her back in her seat. "That was embarrassing." She laughed.
"Sorry, sometimes, I don't know my own strength." Lauren pushed Bo's hair over her shoulder.
"Probably looked like an older Charlotte." Bo smiled.
"That baby stays on your brain, doesn't she?." Lauren rubbed Bo's leg.
"She's our oldest and the most adventurous of the four. Her brothers and sister will follow her lead. But yes, she stays on my mind." Bo nodded with pride.
"We can walk the beach. We can sit and watch the ocean. We can do anything that we want so that you can relax." Lauren took a glass of wine from the flight attendant.
"I'm just happy, Lauren. Happy to have your children. I get to watch them be you in their own individual ways. Someday Charlotte will really dip her toes into science and you two will likely play Jeopardy in the middle of our living room. Probably dissect something on our dinner table. Get matching mother and daughter lab coats. And I will look forward to all of it. It will be like watching five of you in your lab." Bo leaned over and gently kissed the woman.
Lauren thought about what Bo said. It does make sense why they were a couple and eventually married. They fascinate each other. That mutual fascination turned to love. Love for each other. Love of what the other is and does. While Bo can't help being a succubus, part of it drew the Doctor to her. Her DNA is literally everything Lauren studied in books, then she met a real life succubus. A nice one. A young one. One that didn't know she was a succubus which meant that she didn't know she was Fae. Rumblings had been made about Aife's eventual return, if she was still alive. She didn't return until Bo came into their lives. The blonde sighed as she stared at Bo looking around the airplane. Those innocent eyes were back again. That and she's finally learning to relax being away from the kids. Being away from Aife, too. This is the part of Bo she fell in love with too. Her concern about other people. Something that solely went against her nature. She's supposed to be unfeeling and selfish. She's supposed to murder people on the spot without a care for the dead or their surviving families. With her powers, she could heal patients wounds and fears faster than Lauren's hands, prescriptions and injections could. "I love you, Bo." She whispered.
Bo turned to the woman. "Huh?."
"I love you, Bo. I love you for finding me. I love you for choosing me. I love you for making me a mother. I love you for making me happy. I love you for making me whole. I love you for saving my life so that you could do all of those things with and for me." Lauren explained.
"Vows?." Bo turned her head sideways.
"Yes. Those are vows again. I meant every word of it. I was just sitting here thinking about the day you walked into our lives. How I examined you when you didn't even know what you were but that you weren't a murderer by choice. You care for humans. You care for Fae that deserves to be cared about. When you love, it's massive. It's overwhelming. I love that about you. I can't wait for our kids to really experience that. They will be as touched, as honored, and as proud as I am to be loved by you." Lauren held Bo's head in her hands and wiped her tears when they fell.
"You did all of those things for me, too. I didn't know what I was but I did know that I could love. I did know that I could love you. It was never going to be about sex with a human. It was never going to be about one night stands with you. It was never going to be about using you and going to someone else. You chose me too. Even after they turned you Fae against your will, you could have killed me on the spot but something that still lives in you knew that I wasn't a deathly threat. You fought against the Una Mens hatred and saved your love. Saved your heart. Saved it all for everything and everyone that we have right now. You could have ran when the last one died, but you didn't, again, you stayed for me. For us." Bo stared into Lauren's eyes. She could tell the woman wanted to cry but they didn't both need to be weeping piles of mush.
"See, we are them. The kids. Kenzi. Hale. Even Aife. She showed up, met our kids and stayed. She's not even killing like she used to. She's learning to love this family and to be loyal to it. They have a loving grandmother. With us, that will be all that they need until they grow up and make families of their own." Lauren took a box of kleenex being handed to her.
"I can't wait for this plane to land. So that we can walk the beach and do whatever comes to mind." Bo leaned into Lauren's space and rested on her shoulder. The plane would be in the air for another half hour. She closed her eyes and breathed the moment in.
Compound.
Kenzi and Hale had put the food away after stocking both sides of the compound with the same food. Charlotte will probably eat like a pig with Lauren out of town. But Kenzi did get some healthier snacks to balance her diet.
"Ok. What'd we miss?." Kenzi asked as she walked towards the patio doors.
"Almost a full circus performance. Charlotte called on every animal in the area. I almost wanted to build a tent and get my whip out. It has been amusing. She's truly the ring leader and they are her entertainment. Man, I'm one proud grandmother." Aife laughed. She didn't know there were that many different breeds of animals on the planet. They had played nice with each other. Charlotte didn't touch either of them to control their behavior.
"Have they eaten anything?." Hale asked.
"Of course. I called them in and let them go back out. When they went out, that's when the rest showed up. The girl must be mentally calling on them. She hasn't touched the ground or anything. It's been really impressive to see. I taped it for Isabeau and Lauren to watch when they return." Aife smiled into her drink. She wasn't drinking any liquors or beer so she won't smell like it with the kids around. "Pull up a chair and watch that little badass running her world." The succubus laughed.
"This should be good." Hale took his hat off and pulled up two chairs.
"Tomorrow is a whole new day. We need to make sure she lets them go home before it's time for her to bathe and get in bed. I don't know how I'll make her sleep through the night." Aife sighed.
"We haven't been home long but it's almost time for all of them to go home or wherever the hell they came from." Kenzi put her hands on her hips.
"You're a cheetah, now, Kenzi. Go out and play with them." Aife smiled.
"Hell no. One of them might think I'm their mother. Hale and I aren't ready for that, yet." Kenzi laughed.
"But you could train with them. Get to know your cheetah better." Hale raised an eyebrow as he spoke.
"Tomorrow, I will ask Nakedra to summon one or two. This is her day." Kenzi smiled. If Bo could see this, she would cry.
"Oh, man, she's brought in a few elephants, if they fall they will be hard to get up." Hale's eyes were wide.
"Holy crap. That looks like a whole family of them, too." Kenzi's eyes went wide. She shuddered when her cheetah started to get riled up. "Nope, we are not going outside."
"Talking to her shifter." Aife laughed. "You are going to marry that woman someday, aren't you, Hale?."
"Whoa, Aife. That's years from now, when your grandchildren are in school and don't need so many babysitters." Hale laughed.
"Shit, can we really call them babies? Which reminds me, I need to check on Amani." Aife stood and Kenzi waved her off. "I'll check on her." She clapped her hands with glee.
Aife closed her eyes and sighed. She had seen human families with kids of all ages which meant some of them were probably grandchildren. Just outside those doors were her grandchildren playing with others. This would have been Bo's childhood but not with all of the animals. Snap out of that, Aife, she chided herself. Stop living through Bo's kids and just live with them as Bo and Lauren's kids.
"Yo, grandma Succubus? How long will Bo and Lauren be gone?." Kenzi laughed.
"A week, why?." Aife's eyes went blue as she looked outside and back to Kenzi.
"Looks like the second coming of Charlotte in Amani." Kenzi showed them the baby. She was roaring and her eyes were flashing blue and back to brown.
"I can't use my succubus on her. She's Bo's daughter. Mine's too old and unfeeling." Aife rocked on her heel.
"Charlotte. Get Charlotte, Kenzi." Hale suggested. "She's almost more Bo than Bo herself.
"How am I going to get her away from them?." Kenzi gestured with her free hand.
"I have an idea." Hale stood and took Amani from Kenzi.
"Charlotte?! Look at Uncle Hale!." Hale screamed from the door.
Charlotte roared and ran towards him. She stopped when she reached him. "Can you calm Amani down for us?." Hale knelt down with the baby. Charlotte reached her little arms up and held Amani. She turned around and held her up for the others to see.
"That kid has watched too much of the Lion King." Kenzi spoke softly.
"Hey, if it works, it works." Hale whispered. Charlotte turned back to him and handed Amani back. "She did it. She's sleeping again." Hale laughed.
"Bo and Lauren when Bo and Lauren aren't here." Aife and Kenzi sighed in relief.
"Look. She's sending them home." Hale laughed as the yard quickly cleared out. Charlotte, Ethan and Dillon ran towards the doors. Aife opened them and they came inside. "Dinner time. But first, everybody needs to wash their hands, arms and face. That means you too, Charlotte." The young shifter roared again but did as she was told.
