"Before I address my...concerns on your recent actions...I'm willing to suspend disbelief and offer you a chance to explain yourself." Dr. Starline said, pacing back and forth. Surge chose not to answer. "Don't tell me you've already forgotten. Here, let me refresh your memory." Dr. Starline said, snapping his fingers. Dark clouds within the void began to separate behind Dr. Starline. Dr. Starline stepped to the side so that he and Surge could view what could be best described as a sort of vision. The vision showed a playback of Surge's memory from the view of her eyes. The vision began when Surge heard Sonic call out for her name as he fell down the elevator shaft after getting struck by debris. The vision followed the history of events of Surge as she ran down to catch Sonic and save him. Surge cringed as she watched herself save Sonic. Not so much of what she's done but the consequences she was about to face because of it. The vision ended when Sonic was hoisted up on the ladder. The dark clouds clumped up and filled in the gap of the void.

"So, now that we're both updated, I have to ask this one question. WHY!?" Dr. Starline said, grabbing Surge's shoulders as he was face to-face with her. Surge turned her head to the side as she got yelled at. Surge remained in this position and refused to answer. "I fail to understand anything that you do, Surge! You had him dead to rights! At first, I thought you went to grab him to look at him in the eyes as you let go. Instead...YOU SAVED HIM! WHY!? SPEAK!" Dr. Starline barked, shaking Surge by her shoulders. "I-I don't know..."Surge muttered, barely audible. "What!?" Dr. Starline said. "I don't know why...I saved him." Surge said, still looking away. "You don't know why you saved him? Hmmmm." Dr. Starline said, walking away from Surge.

Dr. Starline rubbed his forehead as he did his best to contain his anger. "You know what? It's not your fault, it's my fault. Had I trained and conditioned you more, this wouldn't had happen. However, I can still do something about it." Dr. Starline said. Surge looked at Dr. Starline and wondered what he meant by that. "You told me you had a plan and I trusted you. Clearly, that was a mistake. A mistake that won't be made again." Dr. Starline said, walking back to Surge. "What do you mean?" Surge asked. "From now on, when your actions matter the most, I will assist you." Dr. Starline said. "Wait, what? What do you mean by that." Surge asked. "No need to worry. I'll make sure you don't make the same error again." Dr. Starline said. Dr. Starline snapped his fingers while staring daggers in Surge's eyes. "Hey, wait! The hell do you mean by assisting me!?" Surge said, as she began to be consumed by the void. Dr. Starline continued to look at Surge as she disappeared into the void.

Surge sat up immediately in her bed and was drenched in sweat. "What did he mean by that?" Surge quietly asked herself. Surge looked out the window and saw it the night sky faintly turning blue. Surge checked her Scroll and saw it was 0430 hours. Surge looked to her side and saw Kit was still fast asleep. Surge debated whether she should go back to sleep and risk meeting Dr. Starline again or stay up. After about half of minute of thinking about it, Surge's exhaustion was too convincing to deny. She fell back on her pillow and went to sleep. Or at least she tried to. Surge tried her best to go to sleep but remained conscious for the rest of the early morning. Every few moments she opened her eyes, she saw the sky turn more blue through the window.

She began to hear birds chirping outside. Surge groaned from the fact that she had only gotten around three hours of sleep after a busy day yesterday. She felt something stir in the bed and saw Kit waking up and getting out of bed. Surge silently watched as Kit went about the room and went through his morning routine. She was too cranky to start any sort of conversation. Eventually, Kit felt the presence of someone watching him. He stopped what he was doing and looked over at the only other possible individual in the room. Kit saw that Surge was awake with the worst attitude face he had seen in a while. "Morning, Surge." Kit greeted. Surge made a grunt noise and turned over towards the window. "I'll make some breakfast." Kit said.

Kit exited the dorm room. Surge checked her Scroll to see a notification from the operation group chat with Jason, Sonic, and Whisper. The group chat message was from Jason. Surge read the message, stating: "Just wanted to thank everyone for a job well done! Proud of you all! This group chat will be deleted at noon today. If you have any questions or if there's a problem with your payment. Give me a call." Surge closed her Scroll and waited for Kit to return with food.

Kit entered the room with two plates of bacon, eggs, and toasted bread. Kit handed Surge her plate. Surge ate her food as Kit sat on the bed and ate his. Once Surge was done eating, Kit figured it was safe to talk to Surge now. "So, how was yesterday?" Kit asked. "It was ok." Surge responded. "Don't push your luck." Surge said, as she sensed Kit was about to ask another question. "Ok. You mentioned yesterday about me making something." Kit said. "Right. I did say that. Before I tell you, what did you do while I was gone?" Surge said. "I was at the R&D building, doing maintenance on my Hydro Pack." Kit said. "The whole day?" Surge asked. "It hadn't been worked on in a while." Kit said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Huh. Anyway, remember when I stole Dr. Eggman's experiment, and I got powerful?" Surge said. "You mean the Dynamo Cage?" Kit asked. "Yea, the whatever cage. You think you can make one for me?" Surge said. Kit appeared to be in deep thought. "I think so. It may take a while, and I can't guarantee much with what we have here at the base." Kit said. "I know. That's why I waited till today to tell you." Surge said. "Why?" Kit asked. "The leader of the operation I was in, Jason talked about how the base that we blew up would be scavenged. If you need to, you could go there and look for parts." Surge said. "I can go there now?" Kit asked. "No, there's probably still Eggman's robots around and you'll probably look suspicious doing it all on your own. The Resistance will be setting up scavenging operations for that." Surge said. "So, when they start doing operations on scavenging the base, I would have to join them?" Kit asked. "Yep. So, be on the lookout for them." Surge said. "Ok. I'll start drawing up designs for it now." Kit said. "Good." Surge said, laying back on their bed. "Are you feeling, ok?" Kit asked. "I'm fine." Surge said. Kit knew she wasn't telling the truth but didn't want to press it any further.

Kit exited the dorm room with the empty plates. Kit entered the kitchen in the common area and began cleaning the plates. "Morning, Kit!" Sonic said, walking into the kitchen. "Morning, Sonic. How goes it?" Kit said. "Good! I'm doing good. How about you?" Sonic said, looking for pans to use in the cabinet. "I'm ok." Kit responded. "How's Surge? Yesterday was her first day in a operation. Just wondering if she's doing ok." Sonic asked. "She...seemed a bit more cranky than usual. Other than that, she's fine." Kit said, finishing cleaning the plates. "Anyway, I'm heading to the R&D building if you need me. See ya later Sonic." Kit said. "Peace, Kit!" Sonic said.

Kit arrived at the workshop in the R&D building. Kit noticed Tails wasn't around this time. Kit figured Tails was off doing something more important or had finally taken a break from work. Regardless, Kit had the workshop all to himself for the time being. Kit grabbed a large piece of construction paper and placed it on the workbench. Kit's mind raced as he tried to figure out where to begin. Surge wasn't particular about anything for the Dynamo Cage. Either she didn't think that far ahead like usual, or she trusted Kit's expertise to figure out what was best for her. Kit started with the design and casing of the new Dynamo Cage. The Dynamo Cage was a bit clunky and seemed to restrict Surge's movement to a degree. Kit figured if he could slim it down, make it more flexible, and more visually appealing, it would be a good start. Kit began drawing up sketches and writing equations.

Surge remained bedridden as she was too tired to do anything. She was still cranky but was a bit more tolerant now that she was fed a moment ago. Surge heard a knock at the door. "Leave me alone." Surge said. "It's Duo! Just wanted to check to see how you're doing." Duo said. Surge figured Mimic wanted to debrief on the operation she had just done. "Not in the mood right now. Come back later." Surge said. "Are you sure?" Duo asked. "Yea." Surge said. There was a brief moment of silence. "Ok, I'll come back later." Duo said. "Thank you, Jeez." Surge said under her breath. Surge flicked her Scroll and explored it to pass the time. After a short time, she heard another knock at the door. "Leave me alone. Not in the mood." Surge said, going through her Scroll. "It's Sonic." Sonic said, from the other side of the door. Surge paused for a moment. "Door's open." Surge said, pulling up the bed sheets to cover herself. The door opened to reveal Sonic as he walked into the dorm room. "What do you want?" Surge asked. Sonic remained quiet as he closed the door and locked it. Surge was confused about what Sonic was doing. "Why are you locking the door?" Surge asked. Sonic turned around. Surge noticed Sonic had black eyes and white pupils, which meant... "How interesting." Sonic said, as he transformed into Mimic.

"You wouldn't let me in but you would let Sonic in." Mimic said. "Yea so? Every time me and you talked, nothing really happens. Unless you're ready to share what you've been up to?" Surge said. "First, It's You and I. Second, What I do is on the need to know basis kind of information." Mimic said. "How surprising." Surge said, in a sarcastic and monotone voice. Mimic looked less than amused. "Ok. Can you at least tell me why you're here? It must be somewhat important if you had to switch to someone else to talk to me." Surge said, stretching her arms above her head. "I've heard you were in an operation and destroyed a base." Mimic said, smiling. "That quick huh? guess word does travel fast." Surge said. "You hear it faster when you're actively listening for it." Mimic said. "Yea yea I get it. So, what about it?" Surge said. "How were you able to to join in on an operation with the more prominent members so quickly?" Mimic asked. "What, You mean like Whisper and Sonic?" Surge ask. "Yes." Mimic said, getting slightly impatient. "Well, I didn't have to do much becau- Wait a minute! Why should I tell you!? You don't want to share what you do but, you want me to share mine? Why kinda crap are you pulling here? Thought I was born yesterday or something?" Surge said.

"You know that I'll find out eventually. Just tell me." Mimic said. "Then you go do that." Surge said. Mimic stared at Surge for a moment before leaving the room. Surge was not enjoying this joint operation at all. Right off the back, Mimic seemed more of an enemy rather than an enemy of her enemy is her friend. However, Mimic was the closest thing she had to an actual ally. She may have to work with him down the line if she gets herself in a tough spot and vice versa have to work him with him down the line. At the same time, she wasn't going to be taken advantage of either.

Surge heard another knock at the door. "Who is it now? " Surge said. "It's Jason." a voice said from the other side of the door. Now, that was a surprise. Out of all the people Surge expected, Jason was not even on the list. "Come in." Surge said. Jason entered the room. "Wow, you look like crap. Didn't you sleep after the group's night out?" Jason said. "Couldn't sleep. Had bad dreams." Surge responded. "Damn. Sorry to hear that. What was the bad dream, if you don't mind me asking." Jason said. Surge thought about it for a moment and decided to cut to business. "Why are you here?" Surge asked. "Right, sorry. I just want to talk about the last couple of days." Jason said. "Ok?" Surge said. "I've only heard about your talent and power from other people. Now, even though I wasn't there personally to see it during our operation, it's clear you're an all-star like some of us in this base." Jason said. Surge remained quiet for Jason to continue.

"If you could fix up your attitude a bit, you'd be a great addition to our cause. One hundred percent." Jason said. Surge remained quiet again. "That's pretty much it. I got nothing else." Jason said. "You could've said that over the phone." Surge said. "I could've, yes. But I wanted to speak to you in person because it has more effect." Jason said. "What do you mean?" Surge asked. "I don't know who you're fooling but, it's clear to everyone that you're still on the fence on whether you want to actually join us. And, by everyone, I mean the members who run this place and contribute heavily to the community. Everyone is trying to tip toe around it, but I think it's better if it's said out loud. I'm telling you that you're not fooling anyone...At least, not me." Jason said. Surge remained quiet. "Everyone...except Sonic for some reason. " Jason said. Surge perked up a bit. "Huh?" Surge asked. "Ah. She speaks when his name is said. Haha." Jason said. Surge's face turned just slightly red. "Don't get me wrong, Sonic knows what you're up to too. What sets him apart from most, if not all of us, is that he's actively helping you. Usually, we tell you what you can and can't do and see how you do on your own.

"I don't know how many times I have to say this but, I don't need his help." Surge said, Slamming her fists on her bed. "You keep saying that. I don't think you even know how he's trying to help you." Jason said. "How could I not? He's been checking up on me every so often since I joined." Surge said. Jason stared at Surge, waiting to see if her brain would click and figure out what he meant. "What?" Surge asked. "You mean to tell me you haven't figured it out?" Jason. "What am I missing?" Surge asked, getting irritated from the conversation. "Sounds about right. Anyway, all I'm saying is to cut Sonic some slack. I don't know why you hate him and it's not my business. But, when you two put your differences aside and worked together at hat base...let's just say it was something special. " Jason said. "Is that all?" Surge asked. "That's all. Oh, and whenever you're in a mood to join an operation, feel free to contact me. You're already familiar with how I run things which could make things run smoother. Other than that, enjoy the rest of your day...and please get some sleep. "Jason said, as he exited the dorm room and closed the door behind him.

"Hopefully, no one else bugs me for today." Surge thought out loud. Surge looked out her window and thought about what Jason had said to her about not knowing how Sonic was helping her. "Was that some sort of a trick question?" Surge thought. "The only thing that blue hedgehog did for me was helping get settled in. Which could have been done by anyone. " Surge thought. "And I guess they don't entirely trust us too. I thought it would be just be Whisper and her friends that would have doubts." Surge thought. "But they don't know exactly why I am here. That's the only thing I got that they don't know. As long as I can keep them guessing on what's my goal, they can't do much...hopefully." Surge thought.

Surge's Scroll began to ring. Surge saw the caller ID as Kit. Surge answered the call. "Hey." Surge said. "Can you come to the R&D building please?" Kit asked. "What for?" Surge asked. "It's for the project you asked me to do." Kit said. "Where's the building?" Surge asked. "Just walk North from the Dorm building. You can't miss it. And when you enter the building, make a left at the end of the hallway." Kit said. "Give me five minutes." Surge said. "Thanks!" Kit said. Surge hung up and got dressed in her temporary outfit from the closet.

###

Surge arrived at the R&D building and entered it. Surge entered the workshop and saw Kit drawing on a paper at the other end of the room. "So, this is where you've been hanging out at?" Surge asked. "Yeah, it's quiet and away from anyone else who would bother me." Kit said. "Cool. Now, why do you need me here, squirt?" Surge asked. "I just need your dimensions for the project." Kit said, while looking for something in a nearby box. "My...what?" Surge asked. "Your height, weight, and wingspan." Kit said. "Oh." Surge said. Kit took out a measuring tape and a scale. "Take off your shoes and stand still for me please." Kit said. Surge took off her shoes and stood straight as Kit measured her height. "Ok, one-hundred centimeters." Kit muttered to himself. "Stand in a T-pose position." Kit said. Surge extended her arms to her sides as Kit measured them. "Ok, forty-nine centimeters." Kit muttered to himself. Kit walked over to his sketches and noted down the measurements. Kit took the scale and placed it in front of Surge. Surge stepped on the scale. The scale showed a digital reading as the number rose. The scale beeped, signifying that it got its measurement. Kit walked over and observed the result. "Ok, thirty-one kilograms." Kit muttered, to himself. "Ok. you can put your shoes on." Kit said. "Felt like I just went through a checkup at the doctor's office. How's the project going anyway?" Surge said, putting on her shoes.

"I think I figured out how to slim the model down while at the same time keeping its effectiveness. I just needed your measurements to see how big the model needed to be." Kit said. "Slim it down? How? That thing from Eggman was all wires and glass." Surge said. "I don't want to bore you with the details, but I'm trying to make it less obvious if you were to have it on. If I could pull this off, no one would know if you were even wearing it unless they were paying really close attention...or if you used it, of course," Kit said. "Sweet. Keep it up." Surge said, heading to the exit to leave. Before Surge could get to the door, the door opened. Tails walked through and was surprised. "O-Oh, hey, Surge! How are you doing?" Tails said. "Uh, good. Doing good. You?" Surge said, still a bit startled from the encounter. "Doing great! I heard about the operation you were in regarding the destruction of the base nearby. Awesome job!" Tails said. "Uh, thanks. Wouldn't have done it without those thermal charges." Surge said. "It was the least I could do. Kit helped a ton with modifying the binoculars. Gave me more time to work on thermite charges." Tails said. "Did he now? You heard that Kit?" Surge said. "U-Uh, Yes! it wasn't a problem." Kit said, nervously. "Not that I have a problem with it, but how come you're here, Surge? I wouldn't expect you to be here, of all places.

"I uhhhh...ummmm...Oh right! Kit wanted to show me what he does. I had to take a look for myself after using those binoculars in the operation. Really came in handy." Surge said, sweating a bit. "That's nice of you. Yeah, this is where most of our projects are made." Tails said, walking past Surge. "Most?" Surge said. "If a project needs ample resources to create, it usually gets sent to the Research wing. More security, resources, and a safer environment." Tails said. "I would hope so; I was second-guessing myself if this was all you guys had." Surge said, looking around the cluttered workshop. "We rarely use the research wing. But, we keep it maintained in case we do have to use it to work on something." Tails said, walking to Kit's workshop table. Kit looked over the shoulder of Tails and saw Surge panicking and pointing towards the workshop table. Kit responded by putting a thumbs up. "What?" Tails said, noticing the gesture. Tails looked behind him and saw Surge completely normal. "Sorry. Surge was giving me the signal that she could leave and go back to her dorm. She didn't want to stare here too long and bore herself too." Kit said. "Oh. No worries, Sonic is the same way too. So, watcha go there?" Tails said, arriving at the workshop table. There was nothing on the table except the measurement table and measuring scale. "I was just re-organizing everything. It's hard when you're looking for a tool and have to dig for it." Kit said.

"That's ok. When you work here long enough, you tend to just remember where everything is. You get used to it." Tails said. "Well, it's time for me to go. Kit, thanks for showing me what happens behind the scenes." Surge said, in a slightly sarcastic tone. "Anytime!" Kit said. Surge walked out of the workshop. "That was close." Surge said to herself. Surge flicked her Scroll and texted Kit: Make sure he doesn't find the blueprint. As Surge walked back to her dorm, she thought about what to do for the rest of the day. She wasn't in the mood to do much, not even to hit the gym. By this point, it was already evening. She didn't want to sit in her dorm for the rest of the day but didn't have the energy to go out. Surge then thought of an idea. Surge flicked her Scroll and texted Sonic: "Hey, are you doing a movie night tonight?" Surge continued to walk back to her dorm and entered her room. After a short while, Sonic responded with: "I wasn't, but I could. Why?" Surge responded to the text with: "I haven't done anything today because I couldn't sleep. I'm bored." Sonic responded with: "Yea, we could do a movie night. I'll see who else could join in."

With that, Surge patiently waited for about an hour until Sonic texted her with the message: "Ok, Amy, Silver, and Blaze are willing to join. Are you still down for a movie night?" Surge responded with: "Yea." Sonic responded with: "Ok, cool, I told them to meet at the common room at around 2000, which is an hour from now. You can come early if you want. Usually, the ones who show up early get to decide what movie we start with." Surge responded with: "Ok." Sonic responded with: Is Kit going to be there? I hardly get to talk to the little guy." Surge responded with: I'll see if he could come. He's usually working on something in the workshop or whatever. Sonic responded with: Sounds a lot like tails haha. Alright, see you around 2000.

Surge called Kit on the Scroll. Kit answered the call. "Hello?" Kit answered. "Hey, there's going to be a movie night in the common room. Wanna come?" Surge said. "Ummmm. What time will it start?" Kit said. "Around eight." Surge said. "I can come; I'll be a little late though. Unless you need me there on time, that is." Kit said. "Hey, it's up to you. If you want to continue working, I'm not going to stop you." Surge said. "I'll be there." Kit said. "Ok. See you there." Surge said. "Wait. Before you go, how come you're going to the movie night? Just curious, is all." Kit said. "I have a plan. Plus, I'm bored. But you can come if you want to relax and stuff." Surge said. "Gotcha." Kit said.

It was 2040 as Surge made her way down the hall to the common room. Surge arrived at the and Saw Sonic on the couch going through his Scroll. Surge saw the common room arranged to have the tables and chairs pushed to the back while the couch was in the middle of the room facing the TV. "Hey." Surge said. "Hey." Sonic said. Surge sat on the couch on the opposite end of Sonic. "Not that I'm mad about it, but it's not you to be asking for a movie night on the same day." Sonic said. "I couldn't sleep last night, and I spent most of the day in my room. Had to do something." Surge said. "Gotcha. By the way, I have popcorn and soda already set up in the kitchen. Help yourself out." Sonic said. Surge got up and went to the kitchen to pour herself a cup of soda. "The others should be here soon." Sonic called out. "You mentioned we could choose what movie to watch before they get here?" Surge asked. "Oh, right. My bad." Sonic said, grabbing the remote. "Tails was able to put all of these movies on a drive. He adds more movies every other week or so. Don't know where he gets them." Sonic said. Sonic went to the browsing section for the movies.

"What are you in the mood to watch?" Sonic asked. Surge thought about it for a moment. "Horror. I wanna see how the others look when they're scared." Surge said, with a grin on her face. "Sure." Sonic said, with a grin on his face as well. Sonic slowly browsed the horror category until one caught Surge's eye. "That one!" Surge pointed to the movie that was selected. "Murder House, huh?" Sonic said. "A group of teens breaks into the old abandoned home of an executed serial killer, Cameron Benning, for a fun night out. But is the notorious serial killer really dead, or is he waiting inside, ready to kill them out one by one? Who will survive, and what will be left of them?" Surge said, reading the description of the movie with enthusiasm. "Sounds like we have a winner. All we gotta do is wait for the others." Sonic said.

Surge took this small window to start stirring up her plan. "Hey, Sonic." Surge said. "Yo." Sonic said, going back to his Scroll to go through. "Can I talk with you for a moment?" Surge asked. "Go head." Sonic said, still going through his Scroll. "Serious talk, I mean." Surge said. Sonic paused for a moment and got off his Scroll to focus on Surge. "Ok." Sonic said. "I haven't been here for long, but I just gotta get this off my chest." Surge said. Sonic was quiet and let Surge continue. "Every time I butt heads with someone, they always point out that I'm lucky that you're protecting me. What's up with that." Surge said. Although Sonic's expression barely changed, Surge could tell the question caught him by surprise. "Well, I know you wouldn't fit in well right of the jump. And, you did seem serious and joining us." Sonic started. "Like I said before when we first met, everyone deserves a second chance and the freedom to be who they want to be." Sonic. "Well, I spoke with Jason earlier and-" Surge said before being cut off by Sonic. "Jason? What did he tell you?" Sonic said, now facing towards Surge.

Surge wasn't expecting that kind of response and was a bit put back. "Jason said-" Surge said, before another voice entered the conversation. "Hey, Sonic! Hey, Surge!" Amy said, entering the common room and hugging Sonic. "Hey, Amy. Glad you can make it." Sonic said, returning the hug. Surge made a mental note of how Sonic reacted when he heard Jason spoke with her earlier that day. "What were you guys talking about?" Amy asked, making sure she sat in between Sonic and Surge. "We were just going over the operation we did yesterday." Sonic quickly said, before Surge got a chance to answer. "Ohhhhh, right! I forgot about that. Can you guys tell me how it went? I heard from Whisper that it was one of the easiest operation she had done in a while." Amy said. "She's not wrong but, maybe another time. The others should be here any minute now." Sonic said. "What are we watching?" Amy asked. "Murder House." Surge said. "Oh boy, another horror movie?" Amy said, already looking tense. "Huh? What do you mean another?" Surge asked. "Sonic likes watching Horror movies. Almost every time he gets the chance to decide what to watch, it would be a horror movie." Amy said, with a deadpan face. "But they're fun to watch." Sonic said, justifying his love of horror movies. "Damn right, they are. Hopefully, the others have good taste as well." Surge said.

"Speaking of which." Amy said, checking the time on her Scroll. "Hey guys!" Silver said, as he entered the common room. "Ayyy, there he is." Sonic said, as Sonic and Silver gave each other a bear hug. "Where's Blaze?" Amy asked. "She said to give her about a minute or two. She was about half way here until she realized she forgot something at her place." Silver said. " We can wait." Sonic said, As he entered the kitchen. Silver entered and followed, and they both engaged in a conversation. "So, Surge. How's it been?" Amy asked, attempting to start a conversation. "It's good, I guess. Could be better." Surge said, Completely disinterested in the conversation. "Really? I'd say what you did yesterday was pretty cool. Not many recruits can do that on their first week." Amy said. "Well, those new recruits aren't me. Besides, with the group we had set up...There was no way we could lose." Surge said, Looking at the ceiling. "Oh, yea? I heard you put up quite a fuss a few times before you guys actually started." Amy said, with a smirk.

Surge felt put on the spot a bit. "W-Well, that was because I don't like when plans change a whole lot near the last second. And, Sonic wasn't honest with me that we would be partners." Surge said. "Partners?...Oh, you mean the operation." Amy said. "Well, yea. Isn't that what we are talking about? What else would we be partners in?" Surge said. "Sorry, I just got carried away a bit." Amy said. Surge was confused about what she meant by that. "Hello, everyone!" Blaze said, as she entered the common room. "Woop woop!" Sonic said. "Hey, Blaze" Silver said, as he hugged Blaze. "Alright, let's get this started!" Surge said.

*Author's Note*

First, I want to apologize for the delay in this chapter. A couple of weeks ago, I had a stressful work week and took a break from pretty much everything. When I got back to this, I forgot which direction I wanted the story to go, so I had writer's block for a good while. But now I'm good to go, and hopefully, I won't have another stressful work week anytime soon, although I doubt it.

Second, I wasn't expecting this story to be getting this much attention. I expected maybe one or two people would follow it, and that's it. I will try my best to make this story as enjoyable to read as it is to write.

Third, in case I haven't made it clear as of yet, this is a Sonic x Surge story. I personally like the idea of it and think they would make an interesting relationship. I understand it's not a popular ship, so if you don't like it, then that's cool.

Lastly, feel free to give me criticism on my work.
