Author Notes: This isn't your typical love story. Though, I figured it wouldn't be a Twilight fanfic without drama, mystery, and sexual tensions. (Sorry that the chapters have been a little late but with everything that's going on in the world. I was losing my drive and didn't know where to take my stories. But someone told me I was allowed to enjoy my life while advocating..)
Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or any other Twilight works.
Jacob POV
I was warm, lying on a cloud, and could hear birds chirping in the distance. It felt like I could stay in that cozy spot forever. But then, the most glorious smell of bacon, maple syrup, and eggs hit me. My stomach growled, and I opened my eyes, only blinded by a bright light. I raised my hand to block it, and my eyes started to adjust to the light in the room. I was lying on a vast chestnut king canopy bed, draped with thick curtains and covered in furs and a plush duvet. Two side tables flanked the bed. The wooden walls on the west and east sides gave the room a rustic vibe, while the glass wall on the north side opened onto a patio with a view of the forest. Fur rugs and pillows were scattered across the floor, adding a cozy touch, especially in front of the fireplace across from the bed. I froze. I don't recognize the room. As I scented the air, I froze again. I am not alone. Trying to retrace my steps, I remember returning from the meeting with the Makah pack—'then nothing.' I run my hands over my face and look down at my lap, realizing I am nude. 'Did I shift?' I don't remember. Glancing around again, I spotted a pair of shorts at the end of the bed. Quickly, I got up from under the furs and put them on.
"I know you're here, Edward. Why am I here? How did I get here?" I asked, looking around as if he might appear out of nowhere. I heard a sigh from downstairs, followed by his voice. "I'm downstairs with breakfast if you care to join me." I descended the stairs to the first floor in what seemed to be the cabin's living room. I looked to my left and saw Edward in the kitchen, leaning against the far wall. The modern and rustic design continues in the kitchen with dark cabinets, white countertops of the breakfast bar, and silver appliances. On the breakfast bar, there is a mouthwatering spread of breakfast delights. A heaping plate of crispy bacon took center stage, each strip perfectly golden and crunchy. Beside it, a steaming pile of scrambled eggs, fluffy and bright yellow, with a sprinkle of freshly chopped chives on top. A stack of golden-brown waffles sat on a plate, each square filled with warm, melted butter. Next to the waffles, Two pitchers sat next to each other. One held freshly squeezed orange juice, its zesty scent filling the air with the promise of a refreshing taste. The other contained a pitcher of rich maple syrup waiting to be drizzled over everything. The aroma of savory bacon and the sweet scent of syrup filled the air, and I couldn't resist the invitation to dig in. I looked back up at Edward and glanced around the kitchen. I didn't see any dirty dishes in the sink.
"I didn't cook it. I got it from a nearby diner," Edward said with a smile, pushing off the wall and walking closer to the breakfast bar.
I glared at him, but embarrassingly, my stomach growled. My face felt hot, and I looked away. "So, not the time to be hungry," I muttered. When I glanced back, Edward silently chuckled at me, my eyebrows furrowing in response. I look down at the spread on the breakfast bar; the smell of bacon is so enticing.
"You should eat first, then you can question or yell at me after," Edward said, trying to cover another laugh with a cough. I rolled my eyes and shifted on the stool. Edward picked up a plate and piled it with bacon, eggs, and two waffles.
'I thought vampires didn't eat human food?' I thought, giving Edward a suspicious look.
He walked around the breakfast bar and set the plate before me. "We don't. This is for you. Eat up," he said. I rolled my eyes. "I wish you would stop doing that—"
"I—" Edward began, but I spoke over him. "I know, I know. Can't help it; my thoughts are loud." I picked up a fork, stabbed the eggs, and began eating. I moan, unable to decide if I am starving or the food is that good. Probably the former. I started to inhale my plate, making happy noises, when I noticed the room had gone too quiet. I looked up and saw Edward doing what all vampires did—staring. I wiped my mouth with a nearby napkin.
"What? I haven't eaten in hours and am starving," I huffed. Edward shook his head and looked around the cabin.
"So, now that my stomach is halfway full," I said, picking up the pitcher of maple syrup and pouring it over my waffles, "Where are we? Why am I here?" I continued, putting the pitcher down. I used my knife to cut a thin slice of butter and slathered it on the waffle, mixing it with the syrup. I reached for the pitcher of orange juice, but Edward beat me to it. He zoomed off to the cabinet, grabbed a glass, and poured me some orange juice. I huffed, "Thanks, but you still haven't answered my questions." I sipped the orange juice and tried to meet his gaze. He seemed to be avoiding mine, and I frowned.
"We are on the outskirts of Forks; I was out hunting; I found you alone in the woods, and you passed out." He answered but still wouldn't meet my gaze. I frown even more. "Why not just leave me there? I would have been fine," I said, shaking my head. I still couldn't remember passing out or anything else from last night after leaving the beach. I look back up, and Edward is suddenly in my personal space. His eyes were intense. I flinched back. "Personal space, Vampire," I hiss, shocked by how pissed off he looked. 'What is his problem?'
"You didn't look fine," Edward growled. "Nor would your pack or father let me live if I showed up at the border with you unconscious," he continued. I started to growl in response. But he's right. Sam would be the type to shoot first and ask questions later if the pack is harmed or hurt. I took a deep breath. "Watch your tone with me, Vampire," I hissed, then sighed, trying to calm down. "You're right, though. But I'm not human. I would have been okay."
"I wasn't going just to leave you there," he huffed, running a hand through his hair. Edward leaned against the counter, finally meeting my gaze. "I'm sorry for my tone, but what kind of man do you think I am to just leave someone in the woods like that?" he said. I had no comeback. I did think he is that type of person, considering the only vampires I know are murderers who discard people like trash.'And everything that is happening right now in the north—I assume it was the Cullens,' I thought. The train of thought continued, and I still felt on edge in the presence of a vampire. 'Edward confuses me more than anything.' The reports I read from up north, and my pack's history with them make me wary, though I don't fear Edward. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard movement. I look up, and Edward is across the kitchen, looking pained again.
Edward leans back against the wall, his expression serious. "I would never hurt you. My family and I only feed on animals." He mumbled, then there was a bit of silence, and he spoke again, "Tell me, what's going on in the north?"
I snorted. "Rereading my thoughts?" Edward sighs and looks up at the ceiling. "I'm trying to help." I huffed, wondering where to begin. "It all started a week ago. People began going missing, and nine bodies were found up north."
Edward nods, but his response is skeptical. "That's not unusual. The north has bigger cities, and people always go missing."
I shook my head. "Not like this. The bodies are being mutilated over a few days. The body count has been making its way down south towards us. The last body was found in Tumwater, and now the count is over thirteen."
Edward's eyes darkened with concern as he processed the information. "Mutilated? Are we talking about a group of rogue vampires or something else entirely?"
I shrug, feeling the weight of the situation. "We don't know. That's what's frustrating. The bodies are torn apart like someone or something is playing with them before killing them."
Edward crosses his arms, his face thoughtful. "Have you found any clues? Are there any scent trails or witnesses? Contingency?"
I run a hand through my hair in frustration. "The Makah Pack sent two to track the area, but we can't exactly walk into the morgue and catch a scent." I sighed, got up from the table, and started to pace the kitchen. "The found bodies share the same mutilation every time. No witnesses. Also, the bodies are discovered in heavily populated areas." I stopped and turned to Edward. "The pack is on high alert. We got help from the Makah pack. But we're running out of time. This group or thing is getting closer to our territory."
Edward's jaw tightens. "We must find out what's happening before more lives are taken. I'll talk to my family. Maybe we can look into tracking this thing or the rogue group down."
I narrow my eyes, suspicion creeping in. I returned to my seat at the table and continued my breakfast. "Why do you want to help so badly, Edward? What's in it for you?"
Edward's gaze is steady. "Because it's not just a pack problem, Jacob. It's a threat to everyone, including my family. We need to stop them before they get any closer."
I nodded slowly, still wary. "Alright, but you and your family might have to conduct your investigation. I'm sure my pack and the Makah pack don't want to work with vampires."
Edward's eyes met mine, filled with determination. "We'll figure this out, Jacob. I will share any information I'll come across."
Edward sat across from me, his expression unreadable as I devoured the breakfast. The bacon is crispy, the eggs fluffy, and the waffles perfectly golden with a generous syrup drizzle. I could feel his gaze as I ate, but I didn't look up. It is strange to eat alone, especially with a vampire watching me.
"This cabin isn't mine," Edward finally spoke, breaking the silence. "I found it nearby after you passed out in the woods."
I paused mid-bite, surprised. "You don't know whose cabin this is?"
He shook his head. "No, I just needed to get you somewhere safe, and this place was nearby."
I nodded, understanding his reasoning. I swallowed the last bite of my waffle and pushed the plate away. "Thanks for the breakfast and for bringing me here." He waved off my gratitude and did not meet my eyes. "Don't mention it. I'm just glad I could help."
We sat in silence for a moment before I remembered my earlier suspicions. "So, why are you here, Edward? I find it hard to believe that you stumbled upon me by chance.
Edward's eyes met mine, his gaze unwavering. "I told you, Jacob. What do you remember?"
I studied his face, searching for any hint of deceit. His expression is sincere, but there is still something off. "I don't remember anything after leaving the pack meeting on the beach," I told him. I decided to let it go for now, but I made a mental note to keep a close eye on him.
"Alright," I said finally. "I'll let you help. But just know that if I find out you're up to something, I won't hesitate to put you down."
Edward nodded, his expression serious, though he smirked. " I wouldn't expect anything less, Jacob."
Edward silently cleaned the breakfast dishes while I sipped my orange juice, lost in my thoughts. This day is getting weirder and weirder by the minute; I set the glass down and went to do my business in the bathroom before I thought of heading out. I came out of the bathroom to find Edward outside the door, and I cocked an eyebrow.
"If there's nothing else, I'm heading home," I said, giving Edward a puzzled look.
Edward shifted on his feet and moved a little closer to me. 'Why is he getting so close?' I wondered. Then he stepped back and asked, "How will we stay in contact if I find any information?"
I opened my mouth to answer but closed it, realizing I didn't have my phone and couldn't remember where I left it last. My father is going to be so annoyed. I sighed and looked back up at Edward, only to have a BlackBerry suddenly shoved in my face. I backed up in shock. "What the—?"
"Breakfast wasn't the only thing I picked up this morning," Edward said, chuckling at my shocked expression. He handed me the phone and added, "My number's already programmed. I can go places you might not be able to. So, if you need me to check something out, just call."
I looked down at the phone in my hand. "You didn't have to—" I started to say, but Edward interrupted, "No, don't worry about it. You can keep it. It's a necessity."
I nodded, and Edward walked towards the front of the cabin. I followed. Then he turned to me, "I am taking my leave. See you around, Jacob," before he headed out the door. I stood momentarily, tucked the phone in my pocket, and headed out the door. Before patrol tonight, I needed to check in with Sam, my pack, and my dad. With that, I took off. I couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to get much more complicated than they already were.
I made it back to my house around noon, and the first person I see is my Dad rolling out onto the porch with Harry in tow. Harry waved, and my Dad's face set into a frown before stopping at the bottom of the ramp.
"Good afternoon, Dad. Harry," I said, waving back.
"Where have you been all night, Jacob?" Dad questioned as I stood a few feet before the house's porch.
I ignored the question and replied, "Has Sam been here this morning ?" I sighed, knowing I would get the integration later. Dad cocked a brow at my avoidance. But he didn't press; he knew I would tell him eventually. Harry answered me, "No, he hasn't. He should be home, though." I nodded and headed into our house.
"Sue brought some food over, and it's in the fridge. I am going fishing, and I'll be back later," Dad called after me before Harry helped him into his truck.
"Okay, thank you, Dad," I called back as the screen door smacked closed behind me. I wanted to shower before I called Sam and fill him in— What would I tell him? I still don't remember much of yesterday. I've been feeling a little warm since this morning. Would I tell him what Edward said? He didn't seem to care about my first encounter with Edward. However, he would like the Cullens interfering, mostly like no. I walked to the bathroom at the back of the house. Sue probably came by to clean it today. My bathroom is basic but functional. It has light wood-paneled walls, a dark slate tile floor, and a white sink in a wooden vanity. The shower has a glass door, slate tiles, and a white curtain. There's a toilet with a shelf above for towels and toilet paper. A small window lets in natural light, and a wooden towel rack holds several towels. I stripped out of the shorts, walked into the shower stall, and turned on the water, letting it hit me full-on before grabbing my loofah and scrubbing.
After showering and brushing my tetth, I threw a towel around my waist and reentered my room to get dressed. I heard someone walking in the front door. "I'm getting dressed, and I'll be right out!" I yelled. I dried off quickly, applied lotion, and putting some black Nike running shorts and a black tee. I started for the front, then promptly returned to put on some deodorant. When I finally reached the front room, I found Charlie Swan, my dad's other longtime best friend, standing there. Charlie had this usual rugged, no-nonsense look. Charlie usually tousled his brown hair, and he always sported a mustache. He stayed fit from his job as the police chief and his love for outdoor activities. Today, Charlie swept his hair back in uniform, ready to head to the station.
"Hey, Charlie," I smiled, walking up to him. He opened his arms to welcome me into a hug. "What brings you here? Dad isn't home right now," I said, pulling back from the hug.
"I see. Is Billy at Harry's? I tried calling but didn't get an answer," Charlie questioned, clapping me on the shoulder. I shook my head. "Harry and Dad went fishing."
"Wish I could join them, but I'll probably be working late tonight," Charlie sighed. "Well, can you pass on a message for me? Bella is moving in with me in January and wants to buy Billy's truck for her."
My eyebrows shot up. "That's great news. I'll let Dad know. Dad doesn't use that truck anymore, so I'm sure he'd be willing to sell it to you."
Charlie nodded, a relieved smile spreading across his face. "Thanks, Jacob. It'll be good to have Bella here. She's a bit nervous about the move."
"Yeah, it'll be nice to see her around. Will have to stop by to see her when she gets here," I said, meaning every word.
"I will. And thanks again. I better get going. Got a long day ahead," Charlie said, giving me a final pat on the shoulder before heading out the door.
After Charlie left, I grabbed my jacket and headed to Sam's house. The crisp air filled my lungs as I jogged down the familiar path. The thought of Bella moving to Forks is still fresh in my mind, but I needed to focus on tonight's patrol. As I approached Sam's house, I could already hear voices inside. I knocked on the door and let myself in.
"Hey, Jake," Sam greeted me as I entered the living room. He looked up from the map spread out on the coffee table. "Where were you last night? We were worried when you didn't come home."
I scratched the back of my head, avoiding his gaze. "Yeah, about that..."
Before I could devise an excuse, Jared and Embry sauntered from the kitchen, smirking. "Oh, look who finally decided to show up," Jared teased. "What happened, Jake? Did you get lucky or something?"
Embry snickered. "Or maybe it was that alpha from the Makah pack? He seemed pretty interested in you."
I rolled my eyes, trying to play it cool. "Cut it out, guys."
Sam crossed his arms, his expression turning serious. "Jacob, where were you? We need to know. You missing patrol isn't a joke."
I shifted uncomfortably. "I don't remember what happened after we left the meeting with the Makah pack. I was heading back, and then everything was blank. Next thing I know, I'm waking up in some random cabin with Edward Cullen standing over me."
The room went silent. Sam's eyes narrowed as he processed what I said. "You were with Edward Cullen?"
I nodded, feeling the weight of their stares. "Yeah. Edward said he found me passed out in the woods and took me to this cabin nearby. I don't know what happened. One minute, I was fine, and then... nothing." Jared and Embry exchanged looks; Jared and Embry's teasing was forgotten. "Are you sure you don't remember anything?" Embry asked, more concerned now.
"I told you nothing," I replied. "It's been bothering me all morning."
Sam sighed, rubbing his temples. "Jacob, you have to be careful. We don't know what's going on up north, and I don't trust the Cullens." He walked around the breakfast table, scrutinizing me closely. "Are you sure you're okay? That's twice now you've come into contact with Cullen."
He put a hand to my forehead and sighed. "I'm taking you off patrol tonight. Your heat cycle has started. I knew something smelled off yesterday, but you looked fine. I'm sorry, Jacob. I should have been paying more attention."
I blinked, caught off guard by Sam's words. "My heat cycle? But I feel fine—" I started, but Sam cut me off.
"It's not just about how you feel, Jacob. We need to be cautious. You're vulnerable right now, and I can't risk you being out there when you're not at your best." Sam's tone is firm, leaving no room for argument.
I sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and concern. "Alright, Sam. I get it. But what about the patrols tonight? Who's going to cover for me?"
Sam turned to Jared and Embry. "Jared, Embry, I need you two to step up tonight. Keep an eye out for anything unusual and report back immediately. And if you see any sign of the Cullens, don't engage. Just observe and return."
Jared nodded. "You got it, Sam. We'll make sure everything's covered."
Embry gave a thumbs-up. "No problem. We've got your back, Jake."
I appreciated their support but couldn't shake the feeling of uselessness. "Thanks, guys. Just be careful out there."
As the others prepared to leave, Sam pulled me aside. "Jacob, this isn't easy, but you must trust me. Your safety is a priority. We'll figure out what's going on up north and what happened to you last night."
I nodded reluctantly. "I know, Sam. I just hate sitting on the sidelines."
Sam's expression softened. "I understand, but sometimes the best way to protect the pack is by caring for yourself. Get some rest, and we'll regroup in the morning." I nodded and turned to leave before stopping in my tracks. I should tell Sam what Edward said about the body, but he's already wary. I don't want to cause tension between our pack and the Cullens before I know more.
"Is everything alright, Jake?" Sam asked, looking at me with concern. I nodded, and instead of Edward's interference coming out, I asked, "What should I expect from my heat cycle?"
Sam looked uncomfortable but finally spoke. "The Elders told me the first symptom is heat. It's not just a name; it's what you'll feel. It starts with a warm sensation, but it builds into an unbearable heat in your stomach."
I froze. I am feeling that now. I thought I was a little warm, coming down with something, but we didn't get sick. It looked like Sam knew that, too.
"And you already know about the horniness," Sam continued. "The Elders told you about that first. Your scent will attract Alphas, sending out pheromones like a neon sign saying you're looking for a mate."
I looked at him wildly, wondering if Sam and Paul would be affected."Don't worry, Paul and I won't be affected. So you'll be fine. Just stay home and rest. If you need anything, just text me," he said, chuckling. "If it gets worse, let me know. I can bring you some... stuff," Sam said stiffly.
I nodded, we said our goodbyes, and I went out the door and back home.
Hours later, back at the house, I lay in my room, playing with the phone Edward gave me. After doing laundry, I found my phone in a pair of jeans. Sam and the rest of the pack had already checked in with me. So far, I am fine. The warmth is building, though. I am down to my shorts, lying on the floor with all the windows in my room open. Despite drinking water non-stop, I could feel myself getting warmer and warmer. Then, I felt a tug in my stomach. I sat straight up, alarmed.
Just as I sat up, my phone buzzed. It is a message from Edward.
Edward: Jacob, I have an update. Another person has gone missing just a little north of us. This one is different—there are signs of a struggle.
I felt a chill that had nothing to do with the heat building inside me. My hands shook a little as I typed back.
Me: What do you mean differently? Any clues?
Edward: The tracks are erratic as if someone was running from something. My family is looking into it, but we need to be cautious. These missing persons aren't just unknown anymore. It is a coven of rouges
I lay back down, my mind racing. Another person is missing, and it sounds like things are escalating. The pack needed to know. I quickly texted Sam and the others, relaying Edward's update. I picked up my phone again and texted Edward.
Me: Sam has me on bed rest. I'm going through something called a heat cycle. I'm supposed to stay home and rest.
Edward's reply is a little delayed.
Edward: A heat cycle? That sounds serious. Are you okay?
Me: Yeah, it's just making me feel hot and other things. It's normal. I need to rest and stay hydrated.
Edward: Got it. Just focus on getting better. I'll keep you updated on anything we find.
I set the phone down and stared at the ceiling, feeling the heat continuing to build in my stomach. Despite the open windows and the cool breeze blowing in, I am sweating. My thoughts drifted back to the missing persons and the danger up north. It is hard to stay calm and rest with so much going on, but I knew I had to trust my pack. After a while, my phone buzzed again. It is a message from Sam.
Sam: How are you holding up?
Me: Hot. Very hot. But I'm staying hydrated.
Sam: Good. Try to eat something, too. We've got things covered out here.
I put the phone down again, feeling a little more at ease. At least the pack is handling things, and Edward is watching, too. I closed my eyes, trying to relax, but the warmth inside me kept growing. It is going to be a long night.
After dinner and a cold shower, I got a text from Dad saying he was having dinner at Harry's. Knowing those two, they'd be up all night. It's Thursday, and the tribe leaders meet tomorrow morning, so Dad would probably stay over, which is good for me because I didn't want anyone to see me like this. I am in nothing but my boxers. All the windows in the house were open now. The heat is becoming unbearable, and I am hornier than I had ever felt in my life. I am lying on my bed, trying to calm down. My breathing is erratic, my cock is stiff, and my ass is leaking slick. I couldn't care less; I just want relief. I am making a mess of my boxers, so I pull them off slowly and throw them in the hamper. My cock is pulsing as if the air itself is too much for me. I carefully ran my hand over the head of my cock and shuddered; it was leaking precum like a leaky pipe. I gripped my cock and thrust into my hand. Groaning, I rolled over to grab the lube on the side table, poured some on my aching cock, and dropped the bottle on the bed. I thrust my slick cock into my hand, unable to stop once I started. I shuddered with each thrust, rolling onto my back.
Reaching my other hand under my cock, I stroked my balls. "Ugh...fuck." I continued to stroke my balls in time with my cock. A shiver went up my spine, and I rubbed and moaned in frustration. It isn't enough. My hand passed my balls to my taint, pressing, and I came in my hand. "Aaaaahhhh."
I collapsed onto the bed, enjoying the release, but the warmth started up again almost immediately. "Fuck..." I shuddered, grabbed my sensitive cock, and began stroking myself. My other hand pushes back to my taint, pressing and rubbing. It still isn't enough. I bent one knee to get better access to my taint. My finger slips, rubbing over my hole, and I realize I am leaking slick. I kept rubbing over my opening as I stroked myself more, and I started to moan. I shuddered and dared to slip a finger into my slick, wet hole. I shudder so hard that the bed is shaking. I pushed my finger inside my ass deeper, feeling around inside of myself. My cock is leaking like a hydrate; I stroked myself in time with my thrusts, and It still isn't enough that I slip another finger inside. I groaned, my fingers pushed up against something inside of me, and my eye rolled back into my head momentarily. I came back to myself cum smeared across my stomach, finger still in my ass. I took a deep breath before the heat built up against me and whined. The fingers weren't enough; I needed more. Pulling my fingers out of my ass, I got up to take my second cold shower of the night.
As I am toweling off, my phone buzzes from my bed; I pick up my phone to see who is texting. I didn't know the number.
Unknown: I missed you on patrol tonight.
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: Ouch! Did you forget about me already?
Me: ? ? ?
Unknown: Keep being so mean. I won't give you those cooking lessons.
Me: Cade? How did you get my number?
Cade: I ran into Embry. He told me you went into heat last night.
Me: That's embarrassing. But, yes, I went into heat after I left the meeting.
Cade: There's nothing to be embarrassed about. You came into contact with two Alphas who were not in your pack.
Me: You knew this would happen?
Cade: No, not this soon, Though it is not uncommon.
I groaned; I had so many questions. Sam means well, but he doesn't know much about male Omegas other than to rest. I doubt Sam knows that I make slick. I felt the warmth build up again, and I needed to learn how to quiet it before it drove me up a wall. I took a breath and exhaled slowly. I called Cade.
"Hello, Jake. How are you feeling?" Cade asked, sounding happy that I called. I breathed and exhaled, "I'm holding on; this is my first heat. If that isn't obvious."
Cade chuckled softly. "Yeah, it's pretty obvious. You're doing okay, though? Do you need anything?"
I sighed. "I'm managing," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "But it's getting intense. Any advice?"
Cade chuckled softly. "Yeah, it's pretty obvious. You're doing okay, though? Do you need anything?"
"I'm managing," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "But it's getting intense. Any advice?"
Cade's tone turned serious. "Jake, listen. The heat is going to get worse as the days go on. It's not something that will just go away. Your heat will burn through you, turning into pain until you pass out. Your body will crave an Alpha's presence more and more, and nothing else will soothe it. I know this is awkward, but you must understand what you're dealing with."
I swallowed hard, feeling the embarrassment and confusion rise within me. "But... I'm straight, Cade. The only Alphas I know are men. How am I supposed to deal with this?"
Cade sighed, sensing my distress. "I get it, Jake. This is new territory for you, but separating what your body needs from your orientation is important. The heat isn't about attraction in how you think; it's a biological response. Your body is looking for relief; the only thing that can provide that is an Alpha. It doesn't mean you're suddenly attracted to men; you just need an Alpha's pheromones to ease the symptoms."
I paced the room, running a hand through my hair in frustration. "So, what do I do? Just find any Alpha and hope for the best?"
"Not just any Alpha," Cade replied. "You need someone you trust who can be there for you without making you uncomfortable. It's about finding the right person who can help you through this. It will be tough, but you don't have to do it alone."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. "I don't even know who to ask. This is... it's too much."
Cade's voice softened. "Start by talking to someone you trust. Explain what you're going through and see if they're willing to help. It's a vulnerable position, but you're strong, Jake. You'll get through this."
I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "Thanks, Cade. I'll figure it out."
"Take care, Jake. Call me if you need anything." Cade said his goodbyes.
After hanging up, I sat on the edge of my bed, feeling more confused than ever. This heat cycle has much to process, but Cade's words clarified things for me. I needed to be strong. I don't think I can ask Paul or Sam. That would be weird and uncomfortable. I can do this alone, and I just need to be strong. I pack a duffle bag of essentials: two blankets, four candles, a lighter, wipes, lube, running shorts, phones, six two-liter water bottles, granola bars, and six cans of tuna. I could do with the pain; I walked to the front of the house, sat the bag down, closed the front door behind me, and shifted. I would be fine if I could bear the pain and discomfort for a few days. I grab the bag between my teeth and take off into the woods. I don't know what I am doing or where I am going; I follow my instincts. I ran hard and fast north until I reached the south end of Ozette Lake. I found a giant, deep, hollowed-out tree on the lake's edge and peeked inside. It is free of woodchips and big enough for four of me to lay in. I crawl through the opening; even in this form, there is room to turn comfortably. Tired from the hard running, I let the duffle fall from my mouth onto the ground and shifted back. I took out the blankets and candles, creating a little nest. After setting everything up cozily, I collapsed on the soft, fluffy blankets, and the candle's flame lit the tree's interior. The heat kept building, now accompanied by an ache in my stomach. Exhausted from the run, I just lay on my side and let the heat take over. I pleasure myself for what seemed like an hour or two, flustered and miserable.
Then I heard the shuffling and breaking of twigs before I saw their eyes, amber and hazel, reflecting across the lake as they came through the trees. I froze and slowly backed more into the tree. The eyes got closer and closer. I am silent; then I caught their scent—alphas. I recognized them: Cade and Zane. What are they doing out here? They were finally at the river's edge. I came back out to the opening of the tree's entrance.
As Cade and Zane started to walk along the river's edge to get closer, Cade called out, "Jake, why are you out here? You should be home."
"I can do this on my own. I don't need an Alpha," I called back.
When they finally reached me, Zane shook his head. "I warned your Alpha he isn't ready to care for an omega—"
"I don't need Sam to care for me. I can handle this on my own," I interrupted.
Zane quirks an eyebrow. "I'm sure you can, Little wolf. But what Alpha doesn't support his pack? Sam isn't ready and doesn't understand what you need. Now, you're out here on your own."
"He probably thought you'd be fine because most of your pack mates are mated. But we could scent you from our place," Cade added. "It was faint at first, but it got stronger as the night went on."
I froze. Cade continued, "I told you, not all packs are as nice as ours. We're not the only ones in the region. Sam should've warned you about your scent changing, even if he didn't know how strong it would be." Zane added, "But your heat is developing gradually. Only we could pick up your scent from when you came to the lake."
I frowned. "I thought mated Alphas weren't affected?" I asked, looking up at Zane. Zane smirked. "Smart cookie, you're correct. Alphas with an omega or beta mate aren't affected. However, we're Alpha mates, so we are."
I felt conflicted. I'd never been attracted to men before, until now. This heat is all new and confusing. "I've never... I'm not into guys," I lie, feeling embarrassed. Zane smirked. "Oh, is that right? I can sniff out a lie, Jacob. And you're slick." He chuckled, walking closer to the opening of the tree, and my slick started to leak down my taint.
Cade's expression softened. "I get it, Jake. But like I said earlier tonight. It's about need and biology. Your body will crave the relief only an Alpha can provide."
"There are other ways to comfort you besides knotting, Little wolf." Zane purred. My face warmed at his words. Cade rolled his eyes at Zane and kneeled at the opening. "Only if you want, Jake. We could also just watch over you," Cade added. I didn't know these alphas well, but my heat was like a giant neon sign that hadn't seemed to affect them. Still, they had omega in their pack for years. Confused but too trusting, I nodded and hurried back to let them into the hollow tree. They took off their shoes at the entrance and made their way in. Once we were all seated, I noticed Cade smiling at me. I quirked an eyebrow. "What?" I asked.
Cade's smile widens as he leans forward, resting his arms between his crossed legs. "You're nesting. It's good to see you embracing your instincts."
Feeling self-conscious, I look around at the blankets and candles I had set up. "I guess it just felt right," I admit.
Zane nods approvingly. "Well done, Jake. Trusting your instincts is crucial, especially during your heat." He is leaning against the wall of the tree, legs crossed at the ankles, eyes closed. I lay down on my side facing them; closing my eyes, the heat becomes unbearable again. Their scent drives me a little wild, and I am breathing heavily. I grind my teeth not to moan out. I feel a hand rubbing my feet , I stiffen and open my eyes to see Cade rubbing them.
"Jake, we're here for you. You don't have to hold back," Cade reassured, his voice gruff. I glance to my left, meeting Zane's intense gaze. My slick increases, I notice Zane's nostrils flare. I feel movement and look back to Cade, leaning over me and pushing me onto my back. I froze. " You can stop this at any time, Jake," Cade whispers as he takes my lips between his teeth, and I shudder.
"If you wish for us to cease, simply speak up, Jacob,". Zane adds, while Cade pulls back slightly, I try to kiss him and Cade avoids it. Zane continues, "Is that clear, Jacob?" I nod, kissing Cade this time and He pulls me back from the kiss by my hair. Zane uncrossed his ankles, saying, "But we need to hear you say it, Little wolf."
"I get it. If I want to stop, I'll say so." I whisper staring up at Cade. He pulls my hair a little tighter. " We need you to say it louder, Little wolf." Zane purres
"I'll say stop if I need to," I growled. Cade rewarded me with a kiss, and Zane chuckled, "Feisty."
Cade moves between my thighs, pushing my legs apart. I shudder under his touch. His tongue delves deeper into my mouth, and I feel like I'm being tasted and devoured by him. My mind goes blank. There's no doubt who's leading this kiss. He slips his right hand to my hip, gripping it firmly. I moan, and Cade continues to explore my mouth. The threads holding me back start to loosen, and the warmth in my stomach becomes less painful. Though the knot in my stomach tightens and my cock grows hard, a shiver runs up my spine. I whine though I will never admit I did , Cade pulls back to kneel between my legs as I gasp for air. He takes off his shirt and lowers himself on his stomach so he is eye level with my cock. I feel his breath on me , I shudder closing my eyes "Little wolf, you don't wanna miss this. Our Cade is quite talented" Zane said, voice deeper than it was ten minutes ago. I open my eyes to see Cade take my cock in his hand. He strokes me once and blows air over the tip of my cock. I moan and precum drizzles down my length. Zane chuckles from above me "So sensitive," When did he get so close ? Zane is sitting near my head watching the scene before him unfold. I am so distracted by Zane , I am taken by surprise of Cade tongue licking up my length. "Ahhhhh" I moan trying to lift my hips to meet his mouth , Cade uses his forearm to hold me down as he tastes me. "NGH.." Then the feeling of warm , wet and tight surrounds my cock. I look back down at Cade, his eyes seem to be glowing in the candle light , he gazes up at me as his throat tightens around me "HHGH..." the tight knot in my stomach builds and builds before he pulls off my cock.
"Please don't—" I started to beg for him not to stop when I was so close to cumming down Cade's throat.
"Don't worry, Little wolf... It's just getting started" Zane purrs as he starts to run his fingers through my hair.
I felt hands on my thighs and went still "Do you want me to stop," Cade whispered though I heard him as if he was talking normally.
Everything slowed for a moment. I took a few seconds to breathe before slowly shaking my head, I looked back up to Zane who sat patiently above me still running fingers through my hair. Zane didn't seem too affected by the scene before him , my eyes met his. I don't know what he saw in my eyes but Zane said 'It's perfectly fine to stop, to yield. I say again. Tonight, nothing will occur that you don't desire."
I look down at Cade, who keeps my gaze as he slowly lifts my thighs to my chest, bending me in half. I gasp, and he pauses for a moment, giving me the option to back out. But I haven't stopped him. He continues, lowering his head to my most vulnerable place. My face feels hot. "Wh-what are you doing?" I whisper.
"Tasting you, Little wolf," Zane said for Cade, as I felt Cade's tongue swipe over my wet spot, shuddering under their hands. Zane took my chin, making me meet his eyes before kissing me. Zane's kiss, if you could call it that, was dominating. Between the kiss and Cade applying pressure with his tongue, I became pliant under them. The pleasure built and built, gut-wrenching but not enough to push me over the edge. Then, I felt the pressure increase as Cade's tongue breached me, my groans of pleasure swallowed by Zane. He devoured my hole as he did my mouth. I felt like I couldn't breathe, a little light-headed, until Zane pulled back to let me take a few breaths.
"Don't forget to breathe through your nose, Little wolf," he chuckled before dominating my mouth again. I shuddered between them, riding Cade's tongue to reach that sweet release. Cade pulled back a bit before adding a finger, and I went off like a fire hydrant, screaming into Zane's mouth, a stream of cum splashing my stomach as I clenched around Cade's finger before he pulled out. Zane pulled back, biting at my lip as I convulsed from the aftershocks. Cade sliding his hands up to my waist and placing kisses along my hip peering up at me , His eyes shifted. I freeze under him. Fuck Fuck Fuck. I didn't want to do anything to make Cade shift above me. He continues to kiss along my hip, and Zane whispers in my ear " Don't be scared—" before I interrupted him.
"I am not—" I started, but Zane kissed me, then pulled back. "I can smell a lie and hear your beating heart, little wolf."
I kept my eyes on Cade as Zane spoke, "Alphas in the Makah pack, like myself and Cade, can partially shift when we're excited, angry, or sad. Our eyes, hands, or mouth can change."I was shocked by the new information. All shifts in my pack were full on and they—. I gasp not able to finish that train of thought as Cade swallowed my half cock wole and Zane yanked my hair a little tighter. I brought a hand to the back of Cade's head, still trying to force even more of myself into his mouth down his throat.
"Yes, yes, yes, please," I cried out, looking into Zane's eyes.
"Oh, you beg so beautifully, little wolf," Zane purred, dragging his nose down my neck.
Cade purred around my cock, rubbing a hand over my balls and I screamed as I came hard and twitchy down his throat. The heat in my stomach died down, and my eyes grew heavy. I tried to fight off the exhaustion pulling me under as my muscles went limp. I felt my body carefully repositioned until I was surrounded by warmth on either side. Hands rubbed along my body, and I groaned in satisfaction. I didn't know how I'd feel when this bliss wore off, but right now, I felt relieved that the heat wasn't tearing me up from the inside. Zane was behind me, rubbing his nose along the side of my neck, while Cade was in front, nuzzling into my hair. They were scent-marking me. It was surprising, and I didn't know how else to feel about it right now, but I let it happen.
"You can rest now, little wolf," Zane murmured against my neck, causing me to shudder. "We will watch over you."
Cade kissed my lips before kissing my forehead. I shouldn't trust them but there was something in me and their scent that said I could. I let exhaust win the battle and closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
