Week eleven
Linka feverishly devoured pregnancy and prenatal information, desperate in her quest to educate herself.
The terrible neasua that marked the last few weeks all but disappeared, and Linka's appetite and her energy levels had increased considerably. Not nearly her normal levels but she was able to run after Lefi and Lexx now... so that was an improvement.
Her tummy was rounded and had a noticeable shape, Linka had to fight the urge to rest a hand on her growing belly.
She and Lynn hadn't even discussed telling anyone yet, but it would be inevitable. From what she was reading Linka could only guess she was twords the end of her first trimester.
At school, Linka tried to blend into the background. Wanting to attract as little attention as possible, and for the most part she was successful.
Her best friend Claudia Mcbride, was her normal nerdy and soft spoken self, however Claudia was very astute and while Linka hadn't said anything, Claudia knew that something had been bothering Linka recently.
While at Lunch, Claudia slide over a discrete looking box. Linka raised an eyebrow and took the parcel and pulled the tape back revealing its contents.
Linka eye balled the bottle with the words prenatal printed on the side along with Brande name, panicking Linka looked up to see Claudia not fazed.
" To be honest, you know that I've seen all of the books you have been checking out Linka, and I've been in your room your practically nesting."
I just wanted you to know that I'm here for you, Clinka Mcloud for life"! Claudia punctuated her statement by patting her chest, her eyes becoming tear filled.
Linka was speechless, Claudia was such a supportive friend. Linka still afraid of telling her parents about the baby and it wouldn't get any easier the more progressed the pregnancy was.
Lynn had his own concerns but he was letting Linka make the choices best for her and for that she was grateful.They still made love fairly often but Lynn was more reserved, worried about hurting Linka or the baby.
After lunch Linka shoved the bottle into her backpack and then she tried to focus on her last few classes, after school she and Claudia got their bags together and chatted.
" Are we still going to the comic book shop this weekend"?
Linka beamed, pulling on the straps of her bag, " Heck yeah, I can't wait to read the newest edition of Ace Savvy"!
Claudia pushed her glasses up as she stopped to take a few hit from her inhaler, " the cover art looks amazing, and the color whoa moma"...
Linka giggled, " it's almost hard to believe you talking about a comic book".
The foot traffic was slowly thinning out of the school as its occupants eagerly made their way home, Linka and Claudia were probably some of the stragglers but Linka was waiting for Lynn so time wasn't much of an issue.
As they were exiting the school, Lynn sunck up on the two girls after school.
" Hey guys"!
Linka blushed slightly, Lynn looked so handsome. He was still wearing his training clothes and that gave Linka plenty of open skin to ogle.
" Hey Lynn", Claudia greeted.
From that point forward the walked home together, Lynn being his normal mischievous self while Linka and Claudia chatted until the dropped the later off at her house.
There was a crisp February breeze in the air, and soon they came upon a residential block with several well maintained houses and yards
Claudia waved goodbye before entering the house, Lynn and Linka walked in silence for about a block before they started holding hands. After making sure no one was paying attention ofcourse.
Linka practically melted from the small amount of intimacy, with her recent situation their relationship had slowed down considerably. Lynn was still afraid to hurt her or their baby, so Linka had to endure her desires so she didn't make Lynn feel even worse.
" what are we going to do Link...I'm getting worried you haven't had any medical attention and on top of that what are we going to do about mom and dad"?
Linka's face fell " can we talk about this another time Lynn...please".
Lynn let out an irritated sigh and threw his hands up in frustration, " we can't keep pushing this back Linka...I don't want anything bad to happen to you, I don't care if I get introuble"!
Linka winced Lynn's words cutting through her like glass, she had no idea he was this frustrated and she felt awful about the amount of stress Lynn was under.
" Soon...I'll tell mom and dad soon, please just be patient Lynn...I'm really scared", Linka's words had an airy quality.
Lynn now looked guilty, he pulled Linka close and lowered his lips to hers and he kissed Linka tenderly."I'm sorry for snapping at you Linka I'm just worried"...
Linka snuggled closer to Lynn taking his hand in hers, " I'll handle it...just give me some time to think of a way to break it to them".
Linka was honestly dreading the conversation but she knew that her deadline was rapidly approaching and then she wouldn't have any choice, Linka just hoped that her parents would take it well...
