That same day (week fifteen)
Lynn slipped out of Linka's bedroom when it was time for him to get ready; he could tell Linka was still shaken up from what had happened earlier.
The albino patted her belly, as a deep growl resounded. "Don't worry, baby," she whispered softly, afraid of anyone overhearing her.
Linka passed Lexx and Leif arguing by the stairs about who was uglier.
" No way you're way uglier than I am, that's why you have to wear so much makeup girly boy", Leif taunted Lexx.
The blonde beauty queen narrowed her eyes and glared at Leif, "Take it back!"
Lexx pushed Leif into the banister hard, and the tomboy recoiled, launching herself at her twin. Linka panicked as the fight started to get more physical; she pulled Lexx away from Leif, only for the blonde to lash out at her.
Lexx kicked at Linka's shins, catching her off guard and crashing painfully to the ground.
Linka yelped and instinctively wrapped her arms protectively around her stomach. She fell hard on her behind thankfully, her heart was still racing.
If it hadn't been for such a simple fall...Linka's mind raced with all the possible outcomes had she not been so lucky.
Tears gathered at Linka's eyes as a rush of anger filled her, just as she was crawling to her feet Lars and Levi rounded the corner just in time for Linka to snap. " Why do you two always have to be so violent! You kicked me for just trying to separate you for Pete's sake"!
The twins separated both looking throughly chastised, Linka almost never lost her temper with them and this was seen as something out of the ordinary.
Hot tears of anger streamed down Linka's face; she was still upset. It wasn't the twins' fault, but Linka was still terrified. The baby could have gotten hurt because of their carelessness.
Lane and Luke poked their heads out of their room, while Loki just yelled, " EVERYONE GET YOUR ASS'S DOWNSTAIRS, OR IM LEAVING YOU"!
The mad dash to get ready for school soon began; Linka was frustrated that she hadn't gotten breakfast and grabbed a granola bar on the way out of the house.
Lynn slipped next to her in the van, the athlete had no idea about what happened earlier and Linka was now feeling bad for snapping at the twins.
She had a right to be worried, Linka knew that she was in a vulnerable stage and she was terrified of anything bad happening to the baby.
Lynn patted her thigh discreetly, he was always careful for how affectionate they were in public. The small gesture made Linka feel slightly better, soon they were at the elementary school.
Lexx and Leif ran off in the direction of their classrooms, Linka felt a rush of shame that she hadn't apologized for yelling at them.
Lynn walked with her until he needed to go to his first period, Linka watched him leave with a sinking feeling.
She turned in the direction of her locker and a crumpled up piece of paper hit her in the back of the head.
Rancouros laughter erupted throughout the hall making Linka's cheeks burn, and her blood start to boil.
" Don't try to eat it Lara...we all know how hungry you are", Channing McCann sneered.
The redhead was standing at the epicenter of the crowd and she had a nasty smile stretched across her face. She was wearing a tight green blouse with a brown plaid skirt.
Linka tried to ignore Channing, keeping her head down and just shuffling off to class. She couldn't stand Channing; the rich girl took advantage of Linka while Loki worked at the arcade and got mad when the freebies had to end.
Now she was making school a living he'll for not only Linka but Claudia as well.
Speaking of Claudia, Linka was sad to notice that her friend seemed to be missing. Usually they ran into each other before class and hide from Channing and her cronies in the Library.
Linka prepared herself for the day to suck, her stomach starting to grow halfway through first period. The painful reminder of her forlorn breakfast had her tensing up and trying to sit through the hunger pains. Lunch was in two and a half hours, and she just needed to hold out until then.
Linka felt shaky and lightheaded. As the teacher droned on in the background, Linka slowly started to feel dizzy. Her stomach hurt and her eyes were suddenly very heavy.
The pre-teen attempted to fight the rapidly approaching darkness; everything was getting farther and farther away from reality, and Linka felt the strength leave her body as everything went to black and she knew no more.
