Lynn Jr's heart raced and a burst of adrenaline hit him. Normally Lynn didn't really rough Lars up due to how close they were. Lynn reacted before he could think of the ramifications of his actions.
Turning, Lynn grabbed Lars by the collar of his shirt and slammed him into a tree behind them. The blow momentarily knocked the breath out of him, but he wasn't silent for long. "It was you. You're the one who got Linka pregnant."
The accusation had Lynn's blood turning into liquid ice, the venom in his little brother's voice only made the feeling worsen.
Before Lynn could stop himself, he was venting all the pain and frustration he had felt since Linka's secret had finally come out.
Lynn punched Lars in the face with his free hand, the sickening crunch of bones was accompanied by the wet feeling of Lars's blood.
Lynn took a moment to revel in the savage glee, from hurting Lars. That was until he saw his little brother's bloody face.
Like a spell had been broken, Lynn dropped Lars. The small goth doubled over and spat out a mouthful of blood while Lynn scrambled to help him up.
"I'm so sorry, Lars. I didn't mean to...I just lost my temper.", Lynn stuttered.
Lars slapped his hand away and struggled to his feet, the white sleeves of his undershirt were speckled with blood. "Don't touch me! I wasn't going to say anything because I didn't think anyone would get hurt."
Lars spat a gob of bloody saliva while giving Lynn a condemning look. "I should have told on you sooner. If I had, maybe Linka wouldn't be in so much trouble. Not that you care."
Lynn flinched, feeling his temper flare. "I do care; what should I do, Lars?"
The goth let out a sardonic laugh" Mabey step up and help take the blame. Mom pulled Linka put of school Lynn. They are putting so much pressure on her about the dad, when you're just fucking around"...
Lynn wanted to further argue his point, but Lars brushed past him and walked away in the direction of the house.
"LARS"! Lynn called out in a desperate attempt to make amends with his brother.
Without turning around, Lars raised his left hand and flashed Lynn the middle finger as he continued to walk away.
Lynn watched as Lars walked away, with resignation. Why couldn't he fix any of the problems in his life? Despite his best efforts, Lynn knew he was making things worse but he was unable to stop himself when Lars confronted him.
In the back of Lynn's mind, he knew Lars was right, and it devastated him.
