Walking through the door of Central Perk, Rachel noticed Phoebe and Mike sitting on the couch. Making her way through the crowd, Rachel sat down in the chair. "Phoebe, you were right, and you know how much I hate it when you are right." Rachel grumbled.
" Yeah but see, I love it when I'm right though... wait, what am I right about?" Phoebe asked as she really had no clue what Rachel was talking about.
Rachel exasperatedly sighed as she rolled her eyes. "You were right about Ross and me. About him being my Lobster." She said as she crossed her arms over her chest and huffed out.
" Oooh... yay!" Phoebe said excitedly as she clapped her hands with glee. She was happy that her two best friends finally realized they were meant for each other. "Does this mean you two are finally going to get married?"
"What? Phoebe, no! Of course, it doesn't mean that we're going to get married. Honestly, I don't even know what that really means, exactly. I mean, it's been over between us for a long time now, and I'm not sure if I want to go through that anymore." Rachel said softly.
" Yeah...but Ross is your Lobster and that's gotta mean something."
"Lobster? What's that about?" Mike asked, very confused, as he had never heard of the term "someone being someone else's lobster." Of course, he had heard of being someone's soulmate, but not lobster.
"Oh, it's just my way of calling Ross her soulmate." Phoebe answered with a smile as she shrugged her shoulders.
"Well, it makes it easier just to call him her soulmate instead?"
Phoebe thinks about it for a moment as she then shook her head. "No... Lobsters sound so much better than soul mates." She said with a huge grin on her face.
Rachel sighed as she rolled her eyes. "Let's just talk about something else. Have you guys come up with any names yet?" Rachel asked, dying to know if they had decided on a name for their third baby yet.
"Well, for a girl, I wanted to call her Phoebe Jr." Phoebe answered with a huge grin on her face.
"And for a boy, I want to name him Mike Jr." Mike added with a smile.
"Wow... those are both great names." Rachel said with a chuckle. She was kinda expecting other names for their third child. But of course it's Phoebe and Mike she's talking to here. They may be the weirdest couple in the world. But they're Rachel's friends and she loves them.
Ross and Emma were visiting with Carol and Susan, and Ben after they visited the museum. While the adults were in the kitchen talking among themselves, Emma was out in the living room playing video games with her older brother. Emma had been waiting to spend time with Ben since she and her mom got there, and she was just glad that today she finally had a chance to.
Emma loves her big brother, and even though they don't live in the same state, they FaceTime as often as they can when Ben isn't too busy with school and other things. Both Ben and Emma are seven years apart. Ben is sixteen and a sophomore in high school, and Emma is seven and in the second grade.
After their game, Emma looked over at Ben. "Are you coming to Jack and Erica's birthday party? At Aunt Monica and Uncle Chandler's?" She asked him.
Ben nodded his head. "Of course, I am coming." Ben answered as he looked over and noticed the look on Emma's face. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked with concern.
Emma just shrugged her shoulders a little. "Yeah. It's just after the party, Mommy and I are going back to Paris, and I don't want to go back." Emma answered as she looked down for a moment.
"Why not?" Ben asked curiously.
"Because... our family is here, and once Mommy and I go back to Paris, it'll just be the two of us." Emma loves Paris and she loves her school, her French teacher Mrs. Barbier, and she has lots of friends. But the one thing Emma doesn't have is her family, and she does miss them, even her Daddy and her brother Ben.
"Oh, and we're all not in Paris," Ben said as he finally understood why Emma didn't want to leave New York so soon.
Emma nods her head. "Yeah, I kinda feel like I'm missing out on everything, and I don't want to miss out on anything anymore." Emma said honestly.
Ben chuckled softly. "Emma, you're only seven."
"Seven and a half, my birthday is in a few months." Emma said, correcting him as she stuck out her tongue at him and crossed her arms over her chest.
Ben laughs as he nods his head. "Oh, I'm sorry, your Seven in Half my mistake." Ben said as he chuckled. "
"Do you want to play again?" Ben asked as he reached over and turned on the game again.
Emma nods her head with excitement as she grabs the game controller. "Hey, Ben?"
"Yeah?" Ben asked before starting the game.
"I am happy that you're my big brother. I love you, Ben." Emma said as she threw her arms around his neck, hugged him, and gave him a huge kiss on his cheek.
"Awe, Thank you Emma, and I'm happy that you're my little sister, and I love you too." Ben said as he hugged her back and kissed her forehead. "Come on, let's play another game before Dad has to take you back to Aunt Rachel's."
Emma nods her head as she let's Ben go and picked up her controller and started playing again.
Rachel was alone in Monica and Chandler's home watching TV as she waited for Ross to drop off Emma. Monica and Chandler took the twins out to dinner. Of course, Monica did invite Rachel to come along, but Rachel declined the offer since Emma wasn't back yet, and she just needed some time alone to think about things, mostly about Ross.
Ever since Rachel had dinner with Ross the other night, and as she watched him with Emma, Rachel couldn't help but get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. She realized how much she had missed watching Ross with Emma when she was a little girl and how much she had really missed Ross.
Of course Rachel misses Ross, and there's no denying it. Maybe Ross is her lobster, just like Phoebe predicted. But it doesn't change anything. It doesn't change the fact that she and Emma live in Paris now, and a couple of days after the party, they'll have to fly back home.
Rachel's thoughts were interrupted when she heard the doorbell. "Hold on, I'm coming." She called out as she shut the TV off and got up from the couch to answer the door.
With a smile spread across her face, she opened the door and noticed Ross and Emma. "Hey, there's my ladybug," she said as she wrapped her arms around Emma and pulled her into a hug. "Did you have fun with your dad today?"
Emma nodded her head. "It was a lot of fun. I even had fun beating Ben in video games." Emma answered with a giggle.
"Wow, sounds like you had a fun day. Why don't you tell your dad thank you, and I will fix us something to eat," Rachel said with a smile.
Emma turned around and threw her arms around Ross' neck as soon as he knelt down to her level. "Thank you, Daddy. Today was fun." She said with a smile as she kissed his cheek goodbye. "I love you, Daddy."
"Oh, you're welcome, sweetie. I'm glad you had a fun day." Ross said as he wrapped his arm around her waist and hugged her back. "I love you too, pumpkin." He said as he kissed her forehead before letting Emma go.
"Emma, why don't you go put your things away so I can talk to your dad?" Rachel ran her hand down Emma's hair as she smiled down at her.
"Okay, Mommy." Emma said, nodding her head as she waved her dad goodbye and ran into the house.
Rachel tugs a few strands of hair behind her ear as she looks up at Ross. "Thanks for spending the day with Emma, and of course for letting her visit Ben." Rachel said as she smiled softly.
"Come on, Rachel. You know you don't have to thank me. I was happy to do it. But you're welcome, though." He said softly as he smiled down at her. Looking into her eyes, Ross started to feel the urge to kiss her, which he had wanted to do since she walked into the coffee place. He then came out of his trance when Rachel spoke.
"I should get inside and make Emma dinner." Rachel said as she stepped back and then stepped back into the house as she placed her hand around the doorknob.
"Oh, yeah. I should get going." He said nodding his head. He then leans down and kisses her cheek tenderly. "Good night, Rachel." He said softly as he backed away from her, turned around, and walked back towards his car.
As Rachel watched Ross drive away, she gently placed her hand against her cheek, where Ross had kissed her. She could still feel his little face stumble brushing against her neck and his lips against her cheek. Rachel sighed softly as she closed her eyes. She so wanted to pull him back and just kiss him. But instead, she just stood there and watched him drive away.
"Mommy, what's for dinner?" Emma asked a few seconds later.
Rachel exhaled softly as she stepped further into the house and closed the door behind her.
AN: I know it's been a year since the last time I updated this story. I thought about basically taking this story down and start completely over or come up with a different Rachel and Ross story. But I decided to continue with this story and hopefully everyone will still want to read this story. Leave some reviews.
