Chapter 20
With Zante off in a different area, at the house, Isane could see all of the peoples faces being serious. She didn't know exactly what was happening, since she was taken from her home and brought there.
She was given a little rundown on what had happened.
She sat next to Asia, who gave her a soft smile. "So, Asia. This Nyx woman, she's, some sort of Goddess, right?"
"Yes, that's right. I don't know everything about her, but I know she's very strong for being a Goddess. For Zante-san to fight her, it must be a difficult time. And I can see that everyone is placing barriers around the area, so no humans become involved."
Isane slowly nods, getting the gist of things. "And, my parents are okay?"
Asia went to answer, when Koneko walked on by, and overheard the conversation, giving a single nod. "Yes, they shall be fine. Zante-senpai and the others have relocated your parents, and made sure they're safe."
Isane was happy to hear that.
Ravel exhales, looking to Vali, as Ingvild came into the room, having returned from Isane's house. "Zante-sama?"
"Currently fighting Nyx Ravel-san." Ingvild informed. "Rias-san and the others of her peerage along with Sona-sans are maintaining the barrier to protect the town. Kuroka-san and Le Fay-san should be coming within a few moments, they're setting up a way for me to reach Zante-san, while Arthur-san is watching over Isane-sans parents."
Isane felt immense relief to hear that. Though she didn't know who Arthur was, if he was able to watch them on his own, she had to presume he was strong, knowing Zante and the others wouldn't have left it to him unless he wielded a good deal of power.
Ravel showed a happy expression on her face. "Good, so the plans working. Leave Nyx for the time being to Zante-sama, and when we wrap up here, we're going to join Zante-sama. In case Nyx's allies come here, and fight against us. Especially if they're aiming for Asia-sama and Isane-senpai."
Isane tilts her head. "Wait, a Goddess would be after me? For my Longinus?"
Ravel nods seriously. "Its a tool that can reach Gods territory, so naturally the enemies would want to have that. Boosted Gear especially is a strong gear that can be used to increase the strength by double over and over again, imagine that in the hands of the Gods."
Isane gulped. "Damn, I knew it could be dangerous, but yeah, now that you say it…b-but, you said that Zante-kun is fighting a Goddess? Is it okay? I mean, this is a genuine Goddess, right? Like, very powerful. Can Zante-kun win?"
Vali shows a wicked smirk. "Doubting my King?"
Isane grimaces, shaking her head. "Not doubting, just understanding I guess. I mean, I'm new to all of this, so to me, it sounds very scary that he's going to be fighting a genuine Goddess, and he's going to be alone."
Vali let out a tiny laugh, surprising Isane. "Whoever said he was alone?"
Isane was very curious on what that even meant.
But then, Koneko released a low growl. "Looks like we've got company."
Vali immediately shot out of the house, Ravel and Koneko followed along with Ingvild.
Isane rushed to the window together with Asia, and looked out to see a swirling vortex in the sky.
Vali stepped forward. "So, it isn't enough to team up with a Goddess such as Nyx, you're a coward to not even reveal yourself?"
"My time isn't yet to be shown. However, it doesn't mean I didn't come here with lovely gifts." Nyx's partner through the vortex release a pulse of power.
A magic circle appeared on the ground, and moments later, figures began to rise from the circle. They were Stray Devils, Vali wasn't surprised to see that Nyx's group would have such things on her side.
Ravel's flames span around her fingertips. "This can't be it."
Vali nods. "Stray Devils of this level wouldn't be a bother to us all combining together. The fact that this enemy hasn't shown themselves, also does trouble me. For the time being, lets…" As she spoke, Kuroka came out of the house, while Le Fay joined Asia and Isane in the window. "Kuroka."
"All done nyaa. When you're ready Ingvild-chan, lets hear those sweet pipes of yours."
Ingvild went to begin singing, when her eyes suddenly began turning darker, as she felt something wash over her like a giant wave.
Her eyes becoming more heavy, Ingvild's sleep was beginning to overtake her involuntarily, something they all noticed.
"I-Ingvild-chan?" Kuroka whispered.
Koneko scowled. "She's being forced to sleep."
Vali stared at the roadblock before them. "By that portal no doubt, we'll have to close it."
A laughing could be heard coming from the portal, as another magical circle appeared on the ground.
As a light shined, coming through the circle was one large wolves with ashen grey fur.
Ravel gasped when seeing them. "S-Skoll, or Hati!?"
"That's Norse though. Not where Nyx is from." Koneko argued.
"Yeah…why is Skoll or Hati here? It doesn't make sense…is this enemy someone from the Norse? Or did they steal these wolves? If they're here…" Ravel looked on in doubt.
"Fenrir…" Vali murmured, showing an aggressive scowl.
Ravel looked at the tear in space, and then to Kuroka.
Kuroka shakes her head. "Not in town, I'd be able to tell nyaa."
Vali and the others were relieved at that.
But still, they had to deal with a dangerous wolf like Fenrir's child which had God slaying claws.
"Wait, if ones here, where is the other?" Le Fay murmured to herself.
Asia and Isane widen their eyes in shock.
"Ooh crap…" Isane murmured, while Asia gave worried eyes.
"Balance Break." Vali equips her armour, allowing it to shine a brilliant white colour that gleamed rays from the sun down onto them.
Ravel's flames circulate her palm, as Kuroka calls "Le Fay-chan! Get Ingvild-chan for us, okay?" as she allows Senjutsu and Youjutsu to swim around her in orbs, while Koneko's Senjutsu flows through her fingertips.
Le Fay quickly went outside, and used her magic to bring Ingvild inside who was fully unconscious right now.
Vali looked to the others. "Zante's busy fighting a Goddess, and we've got a wolf to deal with. We have to destroy these enemies, while Zante fights that Goddess. Put all your fears and insecurities about Zante being alone right now to the side, our King is not weak, and we will not falter. We are the Zante Bael peerage, now its time to destroy them."
Ravel, Kuroka and Koneko felt passion deep within their hearts, inspired by what Vali had said.
They were Zante's peerage, and they wouldn't back down, no matter what.
Back with Zante and Nyx, with many Devils behind her, Tiamat turned her eyes to Zante, who in turn gave a cheerful wave.
Nyx glares as Tiamat lets out a small breath. "Our agreement, Zante-kun?"
Zante nods slowly, and goes into his back pocket.
He fishes out a picture, and tosses it to her.
Nyx gives suspicious eyes, while Tiamat looks at the image, her eyes widening ever so slightly, a small pink dusting on her face.
"I see…very well, I shall assist you."
Nyx was bewildered. "What was that picture exactly?"
Tiamat raised her head. "That is not your concern."
"It was a sexy image, wasn't it?" Nyx accused, Tiamat nor Zante confirmed or denied. "Was it of you Zante-kun? If it is, I demand to see it immediately!" She back peddles when seeing both Zante and Tiamat staring at her. "For research purposes of course."
Zante looked at her strangely, wondering what was going on inside of her mind right now, before dismissing it entirely, and looked to Tiamat.
His hand extended outwards, so Tiamat pulls closer, and wraps her fingers around his Power of Destruction covered hand, he choosing his power to not harm her, which Nyx praised that he had such control over his Power of Destruction that he could freely choose who his power damages and doesn't damage.
Nyx however wasn't thrilled right now, her eyes showing rage beyond her angry face suggests. "Even if you have a Dragon, even Tiamat there. It doesn't change a thing. I'm still a Goddess, and you're a Devil, a sexy strong one at that. But, can you harmonize with her to the point your powers blend? Can you grow stronger with Tiamat-chan right now?"
"Let me show you. Tiamat-san, if you would."
Tiamat raised her power, a beautiful celestial blue aura surrounds her being. Along with that, the auras sent deep into Zante's armour. Zante matched her aura, and allowed his own purple and black energy to radiate from his soul.
Tiamat's form begins to vanish, and surround Zante, melding into his Power of Destruction armour.
The armour takes on a more Dragon look to it, royal blues mixed with black to create a beautiful looking but deadly armour, claws form on his hands, spots of flame escape from the armour, and the helm looks like that of a Dragons maw, looking like a miniature Dragon Devil mix, a chestplate that resembled Tiamat's Dragon face and then Zante cast his Enhancing Magic to top it all off, drawing on the levels of strength he could reach.
Nyx felt her heart taken in that moment, and exclaims wildly. "How?! How are you doing that!?"
"A magician never reveals his secrets, darling." Zante replies strongly, his voice a mixture of his own and Tiamat's.
Zante with Tiamat added to him, faces down the Devils who all launch an attack on him.
So he cups his fingers, and begins swirling his demonic powers, his Power of Destruction energy rapidly in the air, as Zante thrust his hands out.
Nyx tried to yell "Stop!" but he didn't and created a massive tornado.
It was bigger than she had seen before, attributing Tiamat's power to his own, and he sent it forward.
The Devils were cocky, and began firing their demonic powers against it, but they proved ineffective, and were destroyed as they approached the tornado.
Zante yelled "Have this!" and sent more of his power through the tornado, increasing its speed, and swept through the Devils. They were sucked in and destroyed.
Some reached into the tornado, having more durability, but soon they succumbed to Zante's power as well, finishing Nyx's army of a few hundred Devils off in one devastating movement.
"This bad boy power you've got, my head is spinning so excitedly…!" Nyx takes a step back, as Zante vanishes from sight.
She looks around rapidly, only to widen her eyes when she felt a sharp blow slam against her back.
Her eyes shoot open, blood fires out of her mouth as she is sent flying over five miles, Power of Destruction energy following after her, and bombarding her, generating a large explosion.
Zante looked down at himself, and he adopts a small smile. "Wow, this power is really something Tiamat-san."
"Of course, are you surprised by our combination?"
"No, rather, its amazing. This boost is incredible, I think together, we can do this, and head back to the others if needed. Thanks for agreeing. Don't worry, I'll keep my end of the bargain~"
Tiamat lightly laughed. "That's between us."
Zante snickered as Nyx pulls herself off the ground.
She comes flying back like a train pulling into a station, darkness rampaging all around her form, and shooting off towards Zante in large missile like barrages, so Zante claps his hands together, and forms special missiles of destruction himself.
"I don't know what's happening here, but I'll not be held back down from yooooooooooooooooooooooou!"
"Come at me then Nyx!"
Zante fired his Power of Destruction missiles, and violently clashed against Nyx's own, creating a space in the sky that was nothing but a mass of explosions, Nyx took advantage of it, and flew directly through the explosions to get one up on Zante.
In the moment she came out of the explosions, she saw Zante on her form, so she flew back, firing off multiple orbs of darkness at the same time in an effect to take him down.
Thanks to the enhanced durability from Tiamat, and his own destructive armour, he tanked the shots without them breaking through, flowing his Power of Destruction energy through his hand enhanced by Dragon power, and aimed it right towards the Goddess.
As Zante unleashed his destructive power, Nyx allows darkness to swirl around her body, to act as a shield.
Even then, the bombardment of Power of Destruction raining down onto Nyx, destroying more and more of the darkness shield quicker than when he was alone, showing the incredible power between them, feeling her heart rapidly beating in her chest.
"Have this, Destructive Rain!" Zante fired a large sphere into the sky, which eclipsed the sun.
Nyx looked up, a bead of sweat rolling down her cheek.
Nyx growled, as Zante swirled his hand, the Power of Destruction held Dragon power inside as well, increasing its destructive power, to the point that even Nyx could feel her body shivering at the incredible power.
Zante then thrust his hands down, shooting incredibly large droplets of Power of Destruction energy, causing the very atmosphere to vibrate.
Nyx turned her darkness as strong as she could get it, looking into the eyes of Zante.
"Is this the power you've gained?"
"This is the power I've had inside of me, and adding with Tiamat-sans own as well. So, allow me to show you the power of a Devil and Dragon, receive this with your own body Nyx!"
Zante released his Power of Destruction rain, firing them down like meteors.
Nyx felt her heart stop when she saw the Power of Destruction rain ripping through her shield of darkness, and when it slammed into her body, she let out an unholy scream.
More and more bombs the ground all around Nyx, until it creates a dome of Power of Destruction energy that could be seen for miles on end, showcasing the raw power Zante held within him, and mixed with Tiamat's aura as well.
Zante exhales, looking at the blast radius looking like a nuclear warhead had slammed into the ground, easily the size of a city, and raised so high into the sky, touching the clouds themselves with how huge it is.
"Think that's done it?" Tiamat asked.
Zante shakes his head. "I doubt it. She's got something planned, her clothing seems to radiate an aura that protects her to a point, though we'll see what else she's got up her sleeve, I doubt this is it."
As the explosion died down, Nyx was left in a huge crater, releasing pant after pant.
Wounds erupt across her body, bleeding down onto the ground.
She pulls her head off of the floor, her body screaming at her in agony.
She was able to use her power to propel her out of the ground, and her eyes locked onto Zante's own.
"You think that's it, do you?!" Nyx fished inside of her somewhat damaged outfit, and brought out a vial of Phoenix Tears, beginning to splash the liquid across her wounds. "Love these, do you? I do, because its the power that you've been cultivating with your Ravel Phenex, isn't it?"
Zante gets into a battle stance, aiming his fist at the Goddess. "Ravel-chan is my fiancee. Now, prepare yourself."
Nyx snarls, only to become elated when she sees a magic circle appear on the ground.
Zante blinks, knowing it wasn't Nyx, but saw Nyx showing her excitement. "Ooh, looks like my friends found me~!"
Zante watches as an ashen grey furred wolf appears, showing sharp claws, and strong looking teeth.
"My, hello Skoll, how's Hati doing?" Nyx placed a hand to her ear, her eyes sadistically teasingly on Zante. "What's that boy? Ooh no, then that means they're in trouble? Geez, poor Zante-kun. Don't worry boy, I'll comfort Zante-kun~"
Nyx laughed loudly, showcasing a gem of a grin that echoed how she felt right now, and that was ecstatic.
She was so happy that Skoll had arrived, and what's more than that, was the fact that she knew that Zante's peerage would be occupied, so she wouldn't have any interference with them at this stage of the fight.
Zante knew she was trying to throw him off his game.
To lower his guard, so she could strike as she was being pushed back more than she'd want to admit.
But he held belief in his peerage and how they'd handle themselves, and that gave him the ability to face down this enemy, showing his strength and his ability to deal with this Goddess, even with her new ally.
"Even if you've got a God slaying wolf, even if you have an entire army…you wont win today, Nyx."
Nyx breathes heavily through her nose, allowing her darkness to swirl between her fingers, aiming her hand towards Zante.
As she did, Skoll's sharpened claws points towards Zante.
Looking between the two enemies, Zante rushed ahead to fight them head on…
Back with Vali and the others, having donned her armour, Vali chose to face down Hati by herself, knowing the others would be preoccupied trying to bring down the tear in space, so she allowed her aura to swim all around her form.
"Even if you've got a God slaying wolf, I wont back down." Vali looked to the others. "I'll leave breaking that tear in space to you. I've got this mutt."
Ravel bit her lower lip. "Vali-sama, are you sure? This is a God slaying wolf, one slice of their claws, and you're going to be in trouble. It will rip through your armour, and damage you. We could work together-"
"We also have others to deal with. The army of Devils they've summoned, and if Zante is also fighting a Goddess plus God slaying wolf, then we haven't got a lot to time to waste. So, do your best to bring it down. Besides, I have a feeling that even if we concentrate on the wolf, the God or Goddess helping Nyx is going to send something else. We have to prevent that. And also, there's a strange aura coming from that wolf, they're not as strong as their father, but right now it feels their powers growing, so we have to stop this."
Ravel was on the same page as Vali, her eyes going to the neko sisters who give a small nod.
So she resigned herself. "Very well, please be careful Vali-sama."
Vali nods a single time and gets to work.
"Your opponent is me. Which wolf is it I'm speaking with I wonder? Is your leader going to tell me?" No answer came to Vali, who let out a small laugh. "Very well, allow me to show you the power of the Hakuryuukou."
Vali's aura shined, and she released a bombardment towards Hati.
Hati used impressive speed to avoid the attacks, and came at her with a swing of his claws.
Vali narrowly dodges, and delivers a sharp burst of demonic power, nailing the beast in the side of his body, repelling him away, but it didn't stop Hati who came at Vali with a myriad of slashes, once crossing the distance at incredible speeds.
Vali put her all into dodging, seeing the speed of the wolf being no joke, so she felt pressured by the beast.
When Hati got close to her right, she repelled him with a shield of magic, managing to protect herself long enough that she was able to escape being slashed down, and then she used that chance to cross the distance between them.
When she got close to Hati, she tried to grab him to reduce his power, but Hati used a swift movement, and avoids Vali, getting behind her body, and came down at her with his claws threatening to shred her to pieces.
"Hah!" Vali released several layers of thick barriers, enhanced by her Queen piece inside of her body.
The power of the defensive movement allowed her to stall the claws of Hati enough that she was able to avoid being slashed out of existence, getting above the wolf, and her hands aiming down to the giant wolf.
"Stay." Vali unleashed her silver demonic energies rapidly to the ground.
At the same time, she used her Sacred Gears power, called [Half Dimension!] to cause the space around Hati to shrink, resulting in Hati unable to escape the bombarding attacks from Vali directly, who was thrilled to see the large God slaying wolf be finally damaged.
However, victory was short lived, as Hati powered through, receiving wounds, and yet came at Vali, bringing its claw onto her. She barely had time to dodge, and her right arm received a harsh slash, ripping right through the armour, and caught her body.
She grits her teeth in pain, blood travels down her arm, as her armour is fixed.
But because Hati was close, Vali unleashed her true speed, blitzing towards the large wolf that tried to retreat.
In the moment the wolf tried, Vali yelled "Half!" and unleashed [Half Dimension!] which caused the space behind Hati to be reduced by half, cutting off his escape route, allowing Vali's fist to slam deep into the stomach of Hati.
"I'll be taking your power now, wolf." Vali unleashed a terrific bombardment of demonic power into the wolves stomach once the call [Divide!] went off a few times, filling Vali's demonic energies to full, and used that new power onto the wolf himself.
A whimper came from Hati as he was blasted down into the ground, smashing it apart, and went down the road. Rolling and digging up the earth, Hati bled from his stomach from Vali's violent attack.
"Have this!" Giving Hati no chance to reprieve, Vali fired off her demonic energies in the form of fast travelling shotgun blasts, all aimed for the God slaying wolf to take him down and end this once and for all.
Hati shoots to his feet, and runs his claws across the ground, slashing at Vali's demonic power, using his claws to tear through the demonic energies, Vali exhales when seeing all of his attacks stopped by the giant wolf.
"You just had to be a nuisance." Vali growls in discontent. "Alright then, fine. Lets see how you deal with this."
Vali charges her power, and rushes the wolf with the intent to take him down.
Inside the house, Isane looked on in awe at the fight between Vali and Hati. It looked beyond a battle, and more of a slug fest with Vali managing to deliver powerful strikes on the target, while Hati came at Vali with a myriad of slashes from his famed claws, managing to reach her body and deliver wounds.
Le Fay looked uneasy at the sight, while tending to the sleeping Ingvild. "Those wolves, their claws are able to even slay a God, so I have been told."
Isane's heart dropped, looking to the others, and saw them being engaged in a fight. "Can't we do anything?"
When Isane said that, her thoughts went back to when she was asked if she wished to be a Devil.
Seeing her friends and allies fighting, she felt helpless that she couldn't do a thing, especially after they had done so much for her personally, been there for her, and her family, and now she wasn't able to a thing.
Asia understood the frustrations Isane felt, standing beside her, and showed her an endearing smile. "We can be there, for after the fight, Isane-san. I wish I could do more too. Zante-san and his peerage have made me feel so very welcomed, and all I can do is sit and watch. But, we will do our best for when this is over."
Isane felt touched by Asia's words.
It wasn't much.
But right now, it was the best she could do.
Le Fay smiled lightly. "I know what you mean though, Isane-sama. I'm doing a duty by keeping up the connections between the two worlds, but I have to admit, seeing my new friends being hurt, Zante-sama's peerage, and even Zante-sama himself being endangered, it makes me wish to protect as well."
Isane was glad to hear that her feelings weren't just her own and were shared by those around her. "Yeah…"
Le Fay showed her endearing smile. "So, lets work our hardest in the future, okay?"
Isane liked that idea, watching her friends, she wanted to be in the thick of things.
If she had the power, if she could make a difference, she understood what Zante was saying to her, that this had to be a choice all her own, and she now was beginning to make such a decision.
Back with Zante, his eyes gleamed as he stared between the God slaying wolf Skoll, and Nyx. She showed her ever present grin, while taking out what looked to be a skull shaped staff, and the aura flow around her increased a good deal.
"So, you've got an ally, I've got an ally. It really works out so very well." Nyx grins.
Zante suspicious eyes eyed up the staff. "New weapon?"
"A gift, you could say. I'm sure he's got a few laying around, but I was gifted this, because he understood my everlasting affection for you, Zante-kun. He knew, we were destined to be together, always. So lets dance together, and show our powers together, in a fiery explosive wave. Also, this boys not his papa, but don't underestimate my plans now, and how strong this boy can be~"
Zante watches as Nyx's aura bathes her in darkness, and she launches at Zante, who responds by firing off numerous bullets of destructive power.
When they reached her, Skoll got in the way, and his claws came out to cleave through his bullets. Though when they did, Zante saw his power erode the claws to an extent, even though he managed to keep them from reaching Nyx.
Nyx smirked, getting before Zante, and swung her darkness imbued staff at Zante, who thrust his fist with a large amount of demonic power spewing off of his armour, slamming against Nyx, and clashed violently.
Auras swirled and surged, breaking down the atmosphere, and ground, creating a large crater beneath them both, Nyx grins that her staff was increasing her powers, like how Tiamat was doing the same for Zante.
"Seems like we had the same idea, in regards to getting stronger huh? We both have things that make us strong."
"True, but lets see how we use these powers." Zante snaps his free hands fingers, generating a large tornado of destruction behind Nyx, using its power of suction to bring her into it, while she clashes with him.
Nyx felt the pull, but she propels herself forward at Zante more with her darkness, not allowing herself to be contained.
As she did, Skoll came from behind Zante, raising his claws to cleave through the young man's body.
Gritting his teeth, Zante yelled "Back off!" releasing his twister of destruction, and fired off a ball of destruction behind him, repelling Skoll back enough that Zante could blast away Nyx, sending her skidding backwards.
However, when Zante went to escape, Skoll flung his claw at Zante, slicing through the armour, and reached his body. His already damaged claw began breaking down as it hit the armour, so Zante finished it off with a beam of destruction from his finger, ripping it right off of the wolfs paw, causing him to howl, as Zante's body bled slightly.
"Don't worry, lets come together!" Nyx unleashed a barrage of darkness for Zante.
Zante countered with his own Power of Destruction energy shower shots, meeting and cancelling one another out, seeing Nyx's power had been buffed by that staff.
Skoll came at Zante, his paw bleeding, and tried to claw him out of existence, Zante smiled, and went to attack the giant wolf.
"Seal!" But doing that, Nyx tried to capture Zante in a sealing spell.
Seeing it coming, Zante countered it with his own magic, mixed with Power of Destruction, to break down the spells sealing power, and allowed him to avoid being sliced by Skoll once more, managing to repel the wolf with a swift kick to the face, sending him face first down into the ground.
"Bad wolf." Zante releases a pant while Nyx laughed maniacally.
"Come on Zante-kun! Show me the extent of your power! I want to feel it all!" Nyx unleashes drills, tendrils, bullets, swords, and other darkness blasts at Zante.
Zante exhales, and matches her attacks with his own, shooting blades of Power of Destruction, along with bullets, and even his own twister, managing to use it to capture a good chunk of the darkness weapons to protect his body.
Due to his concentration being on her, Skoll was free to attack Zante, as Tiamat scowled.
"Where is your Bishops' power?"
"Something must've gone down, we have to do without it for now. Seems like Nyx received a present from Hades, though I am unable to tell if he's apart of this or simply helping her out. If he was here, then that would be very dangerous. With that staff, she's reaching powers she's never shown. And that wolf, what she said and what I'm feeling, its not Fenrir, but its definitely stronger than before."
"So the wolf is also gaining power. Do you have a plan?" Tiamat asks in wonder.
"I do, but it involves something I'd rather not happen. But, its a risk I'm willing to take to stop this now."
Tiamat let out a breath of agreement. "You're not foolish, so I'll leave the plan to you."
"Trust in me, Tiamat-san, I'll make sure that we can do this."
Tiamat trusted Zante, so supported him, as Skoll got close to Zante.
He, while combatting Nyx's powers, flings his foot back, smashing into the claws, which in turn ripped into the arm. He drew blood from the claw breaking down, while the claw sliced into his leg, Zante wincing, but seeing the claw vanishing from the destructive power of the armour.
Zante exhales strongly, yelling "Here's a gift for you Nyx!" and releases an omni directional wave of Dragon enhanced Power of Destruction, causing a massive cocoon of power to radiate in the sky, repelling both Skoll and Nyx at the same time.
While the cocoon forms in the sky, Nyx sees chunks of the cocoon being ripped off, turning into blades. Large thick blades the size of tree trunks, and just as big as an oak tree, they hover in the sky, and turn towards the pair of them.
"Here's the rain of blades!" Zante, hidden in his cocoon, caused all of the blades to rain down on Nyx and Skoll.
"Nice! Nice my love!" Nyx matches Zante's power, albeit was sweating when she did so, showing an overexertion on her part, to combat the blades, managing to do so, but still felt the backlash of defending against such high powered attacks.
Skoll tries to dodge out of the way, managing to avoid some blades that pierce the ground and dissolve into the very earth.
But one catches his right back leg, pinning him down to the ground, so Zante unleashes the barrage of blades to concentrate on Skoll to take him out of the fight all together.
However, while the blades threatened to beat the wolf, Nyx creates a thick barrier of darkness, managing to protect Skoll long enough for her to break off the blades pinning him down, and used some Phoenix Tears to restore his wounded body.
"Hah!" Zante used that moment to appear before Nyx from a large distance in less than two seconds, his fist fully empowered with Power of Destruction energy.
However, Nyx laughs, and yells "Now Skoll!" transferring her power to the wolf, which received an immense speed and power boost, moving to Zante's side, and chomps down on the boys body right away, seemingly ripping through the armour.
"Aaaaaaaaargh!" Zante yells, the teeth meant to slay Gods were agonizingly painful.
Nyx grins, as Zante repels the wolf, and skips backwards, falling to bended knee from his wounded shoulder, not noticing something off, while Skoll whined feeling his teeth eroding away.
Nyx slithers her tongue alongside her bottom lip, moving towards the wounded Zante together with Skoll beside her, ready to defend her if Zante was to attack her body. "My love, looking all wounded. Want me to take care of you?"
"Thank you, but I'm fine~" Zante smiled softly, igniting heat in Nyx's chest.
Nyx slyly winks at the Devil. "Always, my love. Now, I've got you. Though, I am very impressed. You came pretty close to smacking me down huh? But it wasn't meant to be."
As she talked, Nyx noticed his eyes were fixated on the ground a few steps away from him.
She took note, as she came closer. "Not feel like talking? Then I'll do it. I have a proposal for you."
Zante gave a disturbed face. "And what would that be?"
Nyx chuckles deeply. "Because I'm Nyx, a Goddess, I need to have a handsome young man on my arm. Who better than a Devil with a very promising future? Fighting a Goddess, and a wolf enhanced to become closer to his fathers level of power. How about it? Wanna be that special guy?"
Zante blinks, and then chuckles. "So his specs have been raised huh. Not bad Nyx, not bad at all."
Nyx bows, and salutes the young man, as she gets closer and closer.
When her foot went to stand on the area Zante was intensely looking at, she stopped, her left foot hovering above it.
"Yeah right, think I'd fall for a trap that easily?"
Zante laughs. "No, I thought you'd fall for a trap within a trap."
Nyx blinks, when suddenly her right foot that was on the ground, erupted into a massive binding circle, ropes of Power of Destruction energy sprang out, and bound both her, and Skoll at the same time, shocking the pair of them.
Then she saw something else that shocked her, and that was the being that she thought was Zante, appeared to be an illusion, cast on a mass of Power of Destruction energy, vaguely human shaped to give it the appearance that she was in fact speaking to Zante and not just an illusion, igniting fear in Nyx's eyes.
She then heard a laughing coming from behind her, her eyes managing to turn just enough to see Zante bursting out of the ground, his Power of Destruction energy concentrated before him into a highly condensed aura blast, ripping pieces of his armour off to add to the power so he could take them down.
Nyx shook in place, as Zante meets her eyes. "When? When!?"
"When I fired my swords at you. More precisely, when I had my cocoon around me. I fired off those blades, and made myself appear in one, digging into the earth. While you were distracted, I set up a trap, while lowering my aura as much as possible, so you'd not sense me. I was worried, that you might've sensed me at points, but thankfully I was able to keep your eyes on my illusion."
Nyx's teeth grind together angrily, struggling to break free, seeing the cannons powers growing higher and higher. "Damn you handsome. You actually tricked a Goddess like me. Well done, I can't deny that's a good thing you did."
Zante smiled at the praise, as his strongest attack was finished. "Thanks, you're a worthy opponent. Its a shame that it has to end like this, but thanks for the incredible fight, there were times I thought I was genuinely in trouble. You're amazing, and you're one of the best fights of my life. But you've gotta go, so eat this! Tiamat-san, and my power, together!"
Zante's power unleashed, a huge beam of destructive power of a Devil and Dragon working together rips right through the atmosphere.
Nyx panics, and does her best to create her strongest wall of darkness.
However, Zante's power managed to rip right through the darkness, and washed over the Goddess.
The wolf tried to rush Zante, who extended the beam to encompass him, and one of his teeth snapped off when trying to bite the Power of Destruction beam, moving towards Zante, who couldn't dodge it thanks to putting his efforts into firing the beam.
The tooth slashed his right hand side, before Zante's remaining chunks of armour repelled it away from him before it could damage him fatally.
Once the beam died down, Nyx was unconscious, laying on the ground with blood surrounding her.
Skoll was unmoving, blood pooling around him.
Zante exhales strongly, as Tiamat releases from his body, falling to the ground with a heavy pant, resting on his hands and knees. "Damn, that was a battle. Vali-chan's gonna be jealous of that fight."
Tiamat nods understandingly. "It seems we won out in the end."
"Yes, thank you Tiamat-san for coming."
"I was indebted, the debts repaid. Though, I didn't hate what we accomplished today, this era is surely interesting. My services could be on the table again, if the right compensation is matched."
Zante chuckled lightly. "Got it, I'll make sure that compensation is met."
Tiamat felt her lips curl up, and she watches as Zante grimaces, seeing some wounds on his body, forcing himself to his feet.
"What are you doing?" Tiamat wonders.
"Gotta make sure my peerages fine." Zante breathes out happily. "Le Fay-san, can you open a portal back to home for me please?" No sooner than he said it, a portal indeed appeared, Zante cheerfully grinned. "Thank you~"
Zante walks forward slowly, Tiamat breathed out harshly, as they both came towards the portal to get back home.
Back in the human world, Vali was valiantly fighting the wolf Hati by herself, repelling and breaking down the wolves movements, causing it to collapse and fall down to the ground at the same time.
Ravel and the others looked to the barrier space that the God of unknown origin had formed where their voice echoed out of, not sure if it was a male or female voice as it was disguised, and the many Devils before them. Ravel wished she had someone that had quite the area of effect kind of attack, but had to deal with it regardless.
"Ravel-chan nyaaa. What's the plan?" Kuroka asks, seeing the Devils all flying towards them.
Ravel exhales, looking between them. "Time for us to get started. Since I've already received the permission to promote, my powers are that of a Queen. However, Kuroka-sama I still say you have the most strength between us. So, I'm going to have you collapse that barrier space, while Koneko-san and I team up to take out these Devils."
Koneko nods, and lunges forward.
Ravel glances at Kuroka who winks "Give me an opening, and I'll close that damn space." so Ravel nods, and extends her flaming wings, allowing her to rush towards the Devils.
"I wont let you past me." Koneko's fist flies through the air, as she nails a Devil in the torso, sending him flying into a few more approaching Devils.
Demonic powers fly their way from a few Devils, so Ravel claps her hands forward, and summons a flamethrower, yelling "I wont let you!" and burns through the demonic powers, protecting Koneko at the same time as causing the Devils to be repelled by the strong heat of Ravel's flames.
When Ravel was doing that, a Devil came up from behind Ravel to strike, so Koneko steps forward hastily, crossing the distance, and slams her Senjutsu enhanced foot into the enemies body, crushing him under her incredible strength.
"Watch your back, manager-san." Koneko dryly said, her eyes filled with determination.
Ravel showed a half smile. "Don't worry about me, I'll keep up."
Ravel extends her hands into the sky, and throws her hands down, releasing a large flamethrower like attack, sending multiple Devils flying away, if they weren't outright burned to death by Ravel's raw power.
Ravel had been training for her King for a long time, and her power was something Koneko believed to be even more potent than her elder brother Riser's thanks to the monsters she was on a peerage with, which in turn helped her gain her raw power.
"Since you're also going all out, I can't lose face, as Zante-senpai's head loli." Koneko channels her Senjutsu between her fingers, and then she throws her hand forward.
Shots of Senjutsu fired off, barraging the enemy Devils, one after the other got blown away, receiving massive wounds.
Like Ravel, Koneko trained daily to grow stronger, and she was a very skilled hand to hand combatant, and thanks to her sister, her raw Senjutsu powers were shining through, breaking down the enemy forces.
Kuroka grins, and charges forward, seeing the enemies being swept aside thanks to the combined power of Koneko and Ravel.
She rushes right towards the twist in space, seeing its strength, and curls her fingers together. Allowing all of her powers to shine, she knew she'd have to have one shot at this, feeling a barrier protecting it.
"I am also Zante-chan's peerage member nyaaa! And I will not lose to you in this fight!" Kuroka poured all of her power through her Senjutsu Youjutsu mix, sending it out in one compressed sphere that had all her power in it.
Her ball smashed into the barrier, and struggled with it, pushing against her. She grits her teeth, sending more levels of energy to it, using all she had to make sure that the barrier broke, and the warp in space collapsed at the same time.
"Are you really thinking you can stop me?" The voice said in astonishment.
"You might be God class." Kuroka began, showing a wild smirk. "But not even a God can keep someone as strong as Ingvild-chan asleep, keep this warp in space open, and a barrier up at the same time without them being weakened. Even if its just a little, even if I have to give it all. I am Zante-chan's peerage, he gave me a home, and this is the power that I'll use for him!"
Ravel and Koneko, while battling the Devils, listened to Kuroka's passionate cry, and felt it deep in their hearts, the lengths she's willing to go to, and felt inspired at the same time.
Kuroka forced all her energies against the barrier, and cracking's could be heard coming from it.
Soon enough, with all the energies she had, Kuroka shattered the barrier, and collapsed the tear in space.
She dropped to her knees, panting hard, but was thrilled she managed to break the connection.
Ravel and Koneko were proud, when they were jumped by some Devils.
They grit their teeth, and went to defend, when a voice calmly said "No, leave them alone." and ten slithering water Dragons came shooting from the house, sweeping across the battlefield, and barraging the attacking Devils.
Ingvild showed herself, rubbing her eyes from the spell she was inflicted with, but still managed to keep concentration to protect those she cared for.
Ravel and Koneko were astonished to see Ingvild breaking them all down, to the point it was a one sided slaughter from Ingvild.
When she finished, she cups her hands and claps a single time. "Did that do it?"
Ravel nods slowly. "Y-Yes, very well done Ingvild-sama."
Ingvild giggles, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly, as they heard the sound of colliding objects.
So they turned, and saw Vali and Hati engaged in a fight. Hati was covered in thick wounds around his body, while Vali's armour had been shattered a few times, but suffered only moderate injuries, as she thrust her hand out towards the giant wolf.
But not only that, Ravel noticed that many Devils had tried to attack Vali, with their various weapons on the ground, deceased.
If she had to guess, then Ravel would say Vali took out easily in excess of a few hundred and probably more that didn't have weapons she could identify, while dealing with Hati at the same time, believing that to be really impressive.
"If you were your father, then I'd have to use Juggernaut Drive. Even if you've received a level up somehow, I am the Queen of Zante Bael's peerage, and I wont allow you to beat me. So, I'm finishing this fight, right now."
[Divide!] Vali used her power to steal some power, filling her to maximum, as the wolf whimpered, feeling weaker and weaker.
Vali's hand stretched to the sky, as a silvery demonic power filled her hand, and she aimed for the wolf.
The wolf tried to get in close, but Vali's wings spread out, and releases a bright flash of power.
[Half Dimension!] Using that power, the space around Hati, all began to shrink, compressing it against Hati enough to stop his movements, and she allowed her silvery demonic power to shoot off from her hand.
Hati was a sitting duck as Vali's powers washed over the giant wolf, a howl could be heard heading into the atmosphere, as a large explosion rang out.
When the explosion died down, Hati had many wounds across his body, he collapsed to the floor, defeated.
Vali exhales, as the others clap, and she disengages her armour, flying to meet the others.
"Good, you finished."
Ravel steps forward. "Yeah, somehow managed to do it. But, we have to get to-"
"Hey, everyone~"
They all turn, and see Zante stood with an unconscious and bound Nyx, with Tiamat beside him.
Asia immediately came out, and began healing his wounds which he thanked her for, while Isane cheered over and over.
Le Fay places a hand over her heart, thankful that everyone was alright, though saw Zante and Vali wounded, she was glad they weren't life threatening, though could also see the fatigue on their faces.
"Yeah, you beat her! Right Zante-kun?" Isane grins.
"I did." Zante nods, stretching his arms. "Damn, that was some fight alright. I even got attacked by a giant wolf."
Vali nods. "Same."
Zante looks, seeing the defeated wolf laying there, so he whistles. "Good job Vali-chan, everyone. Looks like we managed to win. Though I take it the other God or Goddess didn't show their faces or anything?"
Ravel shakes her head. "No, they didn't come. But they were delivering more and more Devils to fight against us. Same for you?"
"Just a herd, then Nyx and the wolf. That's it. Though the wolf received power, though thankfully not to his fathers strength, and Nyx had a gift from Hades which raised her power, her outfit also seemed to offer some protection as well."
Ingvild rubs her eyes of the sleep she was forced into. "Sorry, Zante-kun. I was zapped to sleep."
"They saw you as a threat, so went for you. Its not your fault, Ingvild-chan. Besides, I can see large bodies of water on the ground, I take it you smashed some enemies up~?"
"Surely did, no one messes with my loved ones." Ingvild giggles.
Vali lets out a breath. "That wolf, was stronger than I had expected. I believe the other God class was feeding it energy, and from what you're saying, seems like my thoughts are confirmed. While not close to Fenrir, it still could've been troublesome if both had been together, and Nyx."
Ingvild's uncomfortable eyes wash to Nyx. "Speaking of, what do we do with her?"
Zante looked to the sleeping Goddess. "Gotta contact those on her side, and see what they'd like to do with her. But for now, I don't know about all you, I could do with a nap~"
Vali and the others agreed.
Kuroka yawned. "Could do with a kitty nap right now myself. Speaking of kitty nap, really we should copulate Zante-chan~"
The girls face fault, while Zante let out a small laugh. "Let me recover a bit first, then I'll be right with you."
Kuroka's ears perked, and her body shakes side to side, enjoyment in her eyes. "Then rest up. Because when you're done, its time for us to rock the boat nyaaaa~"
Koneko sweat dropped. "Onee-sama, please don't say such things."
Kuroka winks. "You're included Shirone, couldn't do it without you~"
Koneko's ears perked, a satisfied look in her eyes. "...Very well."
Ingvild yawns, and lays her head on Zante's shoulder. "Lets have a power nap, then snuggle cuddle~"
Zante chuckled, petting the back of her head, as the others began to laugh
Even Asia, and to some extent, Vali and Tiamat, also began to laugh, even a little, glad that they had managed to pull off a crazy feat like fighting off a Goddess.
Isane was amazed to see that they had managed to pull together, and win the fight.
They not only fought as a great team, they also were strong individually, Isane couldn't help but admire that in all of them.
She wished she'd be able to do something like that, and couldn't help but think of the offer she was given over and over again.
To become a Devil.
To become like them, who excelled in fighting.
But not just that, the camaraderie they had, she saw it all.
And she couldn't help but feel like she would want to be in that situation.
To grow strong so she could protect what was important to her, and knew she was going to have a good conversation with Rias about all this.
