CHAPTER 8

The Worsening War

Music of a trumpet was coming from the prison cells. Queen Scarlet obviously heard it, and she decided to intervene. She caught the trumpet player, Meliodas, and told him to "shut up and quiet down his obnoxious noise". Meliodas knew he had to stop.

"This really isn't fair." said Arthur. "Scarlet was the one who started this war on our land."

"I know, Arthur." said Escanor. "We need to get out of here."

"We'll get you out." said MudWing Queen Moorhen.

"Queen Moorhen!" yelled Clay. "How did you know we were imprisoned?"

"Turtle knew about what had happened." said Secretkeeper. "I was worried about my precious and beautiful Moonwatcher."

"And I was literally upset, worrying about Tsunami." said Riptide.

"Get is out of here, will you?" asked Moonwatcher.

"What she said." said Tsunami.

Moorhen bend the bars of the prisons to release the dragons and the humans. Once everyone was released, they all made an escape. Unfortunately, little did they know that Scarlet would find out about the release.

Meanwhile with Queen Scarlet, she was busy awakening Darkstalker. And that was when she went again with another prophecy.

Darkstalker, Darkstalker,

Hear my pleas,

We fight for Pyrrhia

And one won't flee

Despite the fact that what Scarlet said was not a true and legit prophecy, Darkstalker heard her pleas to fight Britannia. Hendrickson was shocked. Gilthunder, amazed at the size of the NightWing-IceWing hybrid, fell on his back.

"And who might the scavengers be? Those scavengers that dare enter the eyes of Darkstalker…" Darkstalker asked and wondered.

"Darkstalker, hear our pleas: Britannia's Seven Deadly Sins must be stopped."

"The Seven Deadly Sins…those of Liones led by the Dragon's Sin of Wrath…" wondered Darkstalker.

"Yes." said Gilthunder.

"They are against our conflict started by Queen Scarlet." said Kestrel.

"Hmph." said Darkstalker. "Are they wanted dead?"

Scarlet nodded, saying that they needed to die.

"Then I shall help you at all costs." said Darkstalker. "Guide me through Pyrrhia and Britannia, and lead me to the Seven Deadly Sins."

"At once, Darkstalker." said Scarlet. "I, Queen Scarlet of the SkyWings, shall lead my army to victory!"

Morrowseer and Battlewinner came into Scarlet's sight with terrible news to announce.

"What has happened, Queen Battlewinner?" asked Scarlet.

"The prisoners have escaped." answered Battlewinner.

"Which ones?" Scarlet asked back to Battlewinner.

"The Seven Deadly Sins and their allies have escaped thanks to the efforts of MudWing Queen Moorhen." said Morrowseer. "My Ex-Wife Secretkeeper was allied with them."

"Bastards!" yelled Scarlet. "I shall find the Sins and erase them and the dragonets from history!" she shouted as she took flight.

"She's probably going to find them." said Kestrel.

"Yes…" sid Morrowseer. "I foresee it…"

Back with the Seven Deadly Sins and their army, Meliodas was happy that everyone was able to be freed from the prison that Scarlet put them in. However, Diane and Merlin feared the worst possible future thing.

"What could that be?" asked Arthur.

"Scarlet may be stalking us." said Merlin.

"What are you talking about?" asked Moonwatcher. "How could Scarlet be stalking us?"

"Scarlet was the one who started the war with Britannia. And she has allied with the Holy Knights." said Ban. "Therefore, if she got the news that we escaped from the prisons thanks to Queen Moorhen of the MudWings, then she would want us dead, and she would be claimed as the victor of the war."

"Ban does have a point, Moonwatcher." said Meliodas.

"I sense that…Scarlet was already notified." said Moonwatcher. "I also sense…that Darkstalker could be after us…"

"Do not worry, Moonwatcher, my love." said Qibli. "If Darkstalker would possibly be after us, I shall barb him with my poisonous tail."

"And I'll be the one hitting across the face with my tail." said Tsunami.

"Enough chit-chat, everyone!" said Blaze. "We have more pressing matters to attend to here."

Everyone continued walking towards the horizon.

Queen Scarlet and her army were all processing a plan to annihilate the Seven Deadly Sins and the dragonets of destiny. However, little did they know that they would be spotted by the army of the Sins. And as a result, IceWing Fjord was taken away from the group by Kestrel.

"Fjord, you have escaped the prison." said Scarlet.

"Queen Scarlet, we are all against you." said Fjord.

"It. Does not. Matter!" yelled Queen Scarlet. "I am the one who wants to annihilate the Seven Deadly Sins! Lord Hendrickson's orders." said Scarlet.

"Lord Hendrickson's orders?!" asked Arthur.

"I have called upon Queen Scarlet to have you and the Sins dead and erased from the world!" yelled Hendrickson. "And that applies to Elizabeth and little Tristan too."

Tristan was shocked.

"You know what?" asked Queen Scarlet. "I sentence IceWing Fjord to death! He deserves a long and painful execution! Kestrel, you and Hawk take Fjord to the SkyWing arena!"

"We're on our way, Your Majesty, Queen Mother!" yelled Hawk.

"Yes, Queen Scarlet!" yelled Kestrel.

Fjord was later taken to the SkyWing arena.

Fjord was the center attraction of the execution event set up by Scarlet. There, Scarlet wanted to have Fjord dead in the eyes of his IceWing fellows, who were chained up at the top of the arena. The only IceWing not there was Queen Snowfall, who was at her palace in the Ice Kingdom on the "head" of Pyrrhia. But when Queen Scarlet sent the letter to Snowfall about the execution of Fjord, Snowfall, who was infuriated with the SkyWing queen, decided to travel to the Sky Kingdom to reason things out with Scarlet. Would Snowfall be able to save Fjord before his untimely demise at the hands of Scarlet and her soldiers? Only a NightWing able to read the future could answer that question.
