From out of the burning rubble our bear and bird stumbled, battered and bruised.

"Where's that big baboon Conga? I'd like to kick his hairy butt." said Kazooie.

"I don't know if we'll be the ones doing that Kazooie. Look." said Banjo, pointing up at the darkened sky.

Flying towards them was none other than their old foe, Gruntilda.

"Hahahahaha!" laughed Gruntilda "Look at you all beaten and bruised, I just can't wait to see you both lose."

"What do you want wartbag?" asked Kazooie.

"What I want? Can't you tell? I want to make your journey a living hell." chuckled Gruntilda.

"We'll stop you Grunty. Somehow." said Banjo, bravely.

"You stop me? Don't you fuss. You can't stop me, I have the Nocturnis." said Gruntilda, taking out the Nocturnis from her pocket.

Seriously, does have pockets?

"Let me see." said Gruntilda, flipping through the pages of the Nocturnis "Ah this is good. Storm by day, storm by night, rain down thunder upon this blight."

Above their heads the clouds circled. Thunder cackled as a strike of lightning came hurling down towards Banjo and Kazooie.

"Guh oh, woah!" screamed Banjo, jumping out of the way just in time.

"Grrr." growled Gruntilda, flipping through more pages "There's more where that came from."

As Banjo stood up to dust himself off another lightning strike struck right behind him, scaring him away.

"We need to get to the tower, quick." said Kazooie, going into talon trot mode.

Strikes of lightning trailed by Gruntilda followed Banjo and Kazooie across the land. Each strike getting closer to frying our heroes, until they reached a fence with crates by it that were too high to jump upon.

"Oh no, what do we do?" gulped Banjo.

"Let's break those, maybe there's something inside." said Kazooie, heading for the crates and beak bashing them.

Inside one of the crates was a jumping pad. Kazooie quickly got on top of it, hunched down and jumped over fence just before the lightning could strike them. Unfortunately for our favorite witch, the lightning had managed to strike the fence in which Gruntilda had accidentally flown into.

"GiGiGiGiGiGi!!!" said Gruntilda, getting fried to a crisp.

Well not really a crisp. More like a crunch.

"Oh just shut up... ooh... x_x"

"Man, what a light show." said Kazooie, eating her last bit of popcorn.

Don't ask me where she got it.

"Come on Kazooie, we need to get to that tower." said Banjo.

"I really hope there's nothing too scary in here." said Kazooie "I'd like to go back to fighting weird, funny-looking monsters again."

As our heroes entered the tower, unbeknownst to them the Zombie King watched.

"Nothing scary?" laughed the Zombie King.
