"What are we gonna do?" Lia asked resting her head on her hand as she was perched up at the bar.
"You are going to stop worrying and go home," Carla kissed the top of her daughter's head, "Me and Chelle will sort Rob out."
"I'm not going home," Lia protested.
"Yes you are, you are going to go home, run a bath, put the TV and stop worrying about all this," Carla instructed.
"Mum I can't help but worry," Lia replied.
"No and I know that sweetie, but for one night please just try and zone out of this mess and relax, I'll bring a takeaway in later, okay?" Carla smiled.
"Okay," Lia nodded jumping off the stool and hugging her mum, "I love you."
"I love you more," Carla smiled.
"Bye Chelle," Lia waved walking out the door.
"Bye darling," Michelle smiled placing a drink down in front of Carla.
"So what actually, am I gonna do," Carla sighed as the Rover's door swung from the presence of Lia.
"Like you have just been preaching to your daughter, you need to relax," Michelle replied coming round the other side of the bar and sitting where Lia once sat, "Rob will be fine, he's innocence and as long as he keeps his temper he will be fine, they probably just need him to answer a few questions."
"Chelle you have just said the exact thing I am worried about," Carla sighed, "If he keeps his temper."
"Do you want me to take you down there?" Michelle asked, "Liz is due back any minute."
"No I'll ring his solicitor in a minute and see what's going on, your right I know he'll be fine. It's no use me going down as well, is there," Carla smiled as Michelle nodded.
"Shit babe, he's got no witness to actually say he was at the rec, I mean no one saw him after Peter," Carla fretted as Michelle sighed.
"You alright ladies?" Liz asked walking in.
"Not really," Michelle huffed, "Rob's been arrested."
Liz looked sympathetically at the pair before speaking, "Why don't you go in the back?"
"I'm sorry, I just keep distrupting your lives," Carla shook her head.
"No don't you be silly," Liz disagreed.
"Carla, I promise it's fine," Michelle reassured, "Come on let's go in the back."
Liz smiled reassuringly put her hand on Carla's shoulder as they passed through.
"Talk to me darling," Michelle asked as she poured the water into two mugs.
"There is just so much in my head," Carla sighed.
"Tell me then, explain it all," Michelle suggested.
"I just want everything to go back to normal, I don't even care anymore I just need to move on with my life for me and for Lia. I wanted none of this to happen," Carla answered grabbing the mug of Michelle.
"I know babe but this isn't your fault," Michelle reassured her.
"No but it is cause if I'd of just stayed in the pub and not stormed round Tina's me and Rob and everyone else wouldn't be in this mess. I mean she was just a stupid kid who fell in love with the wrong guy but I was too blindsided by anger to even think," Carla shook her head.
"But babe you didn't push her and neither did Rob, this is not your fault," Michelle hugged her.
"I just want to move on, forget Peter, forget Tina and just live my life with Lia and with this baby," Carla exclaimed.
"And you will. Rob will be back soon and then we can forget that this ever happened if that is what you want," Michelle replied.
"I can't though, not until Tina wakes up," Carla sighed.
"I know darling I know," Michelle sympathised going to speak again before she was interrupted.
"My fiancé has been arrested and I had to find out from Norris!" Tracy raged as she slammed the door open Liz following close behind.
"Oh please Tracy come on in," Carla spat putting her head in her hands.
"This is your fault, you can't take the blame so you put it on your brother," Tracy shouted.
"Hey!" Michelle interrupted, "She was going to tell you she just needed to sort her head out so stop screaming like a banshee and take a minute."
"I didn't push Tina, neither did Rob, I don't know what the police have on him, his solicitor is there, he will be fine," Carla laminated.
"Oh look at you all prepared," Tracy rolled her eyes before turning to walk out, "Ring me if he gets in touch."
"Sorry I tried to stop her," Liz whispered.
"Don't worry about it, I'm gonna get home, thanks for this," Carla smiled standing up.
"Ring me," Michelle kissed her cheek as Carla nodded and waved goodbye.
"Hey what was all the shouting about?" Steve asked coming down the stairs.
"Your ex," Michelle scoffed.
"Ah say no more," Steve nodded as he walked over to Michelle, "Not any better yet?"
"No but they're trying," Michelle sighed.
"Hug?" Steve offered holding his arms out.
"Please," Michelle smiled weakly falling into him.
"Mum is that you?" Lia asked coming out of the bathroom drying her hair with a towel.
"Yes and I come baring gifts," Carla grinned holding up the food in her hand.
"Ah my favourite," Lia smiled flopping down on the stool as Carla pulled out two plates.
"I'm sorry about all this mess," Carla told Lia as she shook her head.
"Mum its not your fault, it's him and that skank," Lia shook her head grabbing a chip from the tray.
"Lia," Carla warned.
"What?" Lia huffed.
"I know your angry sweetheart but its got to the point that if we continue the way we are we're never gonna get our lives back," Carla explained, "We need Tina to wake up and then we can forget Peter existed, forget Tina existed and carry on."
"Mum I hate to interrupt that dream but Peter is the baby's dad," Lia hinted.
"I know and we can cross that bridge when we come to it but for at least another 3 months we can forget, agreed?" Carla asked.
"Agreed," Lia nodded definitely.
A few moments of quiet went past as the pair sat down to eat before the youngest women broke the silence.
"Mum, what if Tina doesn't wake up," Lia whispered playing around with the food on her plate.
"What do you mean?" Carla asked putting her fork down.
"What happens if Tina doesn't wake up and the police can't find who actually did it, what happens if they still think you had something to do with it, or Rob or Chelle," Lia fretted.
"Baby I promise you I'm not leaving you and neither is Chelle or Rob, we just need to hope that whether Tina wakes up or not, the police find out who did this," Carla eased her daughter resting her hand on Lia's.
"Do you think Peter could of done this to Tina," Lia whispered her eyes wide.
"I don't know Lia, he's not the man I thought I knew," Carla sighed slowly shaking her head.
"I'm not hungry anymore," Lia announced sitting back of her chair, "I think I'm gonna go to sleep."
"Okay sweetie," Carla smiled weakly as Lia got off the stool and walked close to her mum, "I love you."
"I love you more baby," Carla kissed her head, tucking her hair behind her ear, "I'm here if you need me."
"I know, night," Lia smiled back before walking out the room and into her bedroom leaving Carla on her own in the silence.
A few hours had passed before the buzzer rang catching Carla's attention, she paused the TV before jumping of the sofa and picking up the intercom.
"Hello"
"Its me"
A deep sigh escaped Carla's mouth as she heard her brother's voice and pushed the buzzer to let him in, she swung the door open awaiting his appearance. He walked through the door as Carla grabbed him into a hug.
"What did they want?" Carla asked releasing him and shutting the door.
"Not much just the same as before, where was I, what was I doing, who was I with," Rob explained taking a seat.
"No one saw you going to the rec through, what did you say?" Carla asked.
"It's fine I'd sorted it, I was prepared, I'd already asked Trace if she'd give me an alibi in case I needed one, she just said she was with me," Rob replied rubbing his head.
"Right good, so that means your all clear then?" Carla assumed.
"They said they may need to ask a few more questions but yeah, so far so good," Rob nodded.
"Right well that positive," Carla nodded sighing.
"One thing they did say though sis," Rob started.
"Yeah?"
"They think it was attempted murder, they said they recon she was knocked around a bit first and then pushed," Rob revealed as Carla took a deep breathe.
"They're coming for me next aren't they," Carla panicked, "If they can't find her actual attacker, they're just gonna think its me aren't they I mean come on I had the perfect motive didn't I?!"
"Listen, that isn't going to happen, they'll find whoever did this, okay?" Rob reassured.
"Yeah," Carla nodded trying to sound as confident as possible, "You go get yourself to Diedre's, Tracy was screaming blue murder in the pub earlier, she'll want to see you."
"Why doesn't that shock me," Rob scoffed allowing Carla to laugh slightly.
Rob brought her into a hug as she did the same, "Promise me you'll try and sleep, you need the strength to look after that little one."
"I'll try, promise," Carla smiled weakly placing her hand on her small bump.
"See you tomorrow," Rob smiled as she smiled back shutting the door behind him.
