Inside the maze Banjo ran from left to right until he came upon the hatch that he was looking for.

"Well that was easy." said Kazooie.

"Yeah, now let's open this thing and get back inside." said Banjo, turning the wheel on the hatch, opening it and jumping inside.

Meanwhile, at the top of the tower Gruntilda waited.

"Why must I wait here for those clowns, I should be in the tower trying to take them down." yawned Gruntilda.

"GRUNTILDA!!!" echoed the voice of the Zombie King.

"AHHH!!!" screamed Gruntilda, almost falling from her broom.

"Do you remember the plan?!?" asked the disembodied floating head of the Zombie King behind Gruntilda.

"Of course I remember." said Gruntilda turning to face the Zombie King "But I don't see why that bear and bird I can't dismember."

"It is not yet time!" spoke the Zombie King "No. Your job is to strike fear into them."

"What is it with this obsession with fear?" asked Gruntilda "Please tell me, I must hear."

"STOP WITH YOUR INSOLENT RHYMING!!!" commanded the Zombie King in a fiery rage.

"Fine." pouted Gruntilda.

"They need to fear for THAT is the only way I can control them." explained the Zombie King "If I can't control them I can't rebuild my army nor my kingdom AND YOU CAN'T HAVE THE POWER I PROMISED YOU!!!"

"And how do I know you won't turn me into a zombie?" asked Gruntilda.

"Because if I wanted to I would have done it already." threatened the Zombie King "Stick to the plan."

"Alright." agreed Gruntilda, before the Zombie King's head disappeared "But once I'm done with that bear and bird your precious army will be under MY control. And pretty soon the great Zombie King will bow down to me. Hahahahaha!"
