Lena's POV

Once Mother was taken to the crematorium and her lawyers were contacted, Kara took me back to the D.E.O. She said I needed to let some of my rage and frustration out somewhere paparazzi couldn't snap pictures. Block after block was destroyed. Rolling my shoulders, I watched as Kara hung a totaled car from the ceiling. "This is what you do?"

"Oh, yeah." Dusting off her hands, the blonde landed. "When we couldn't find you, I destroyed so much concrete. That's what made Alex and Winn look into recycling it into more blocks."

"I can imagine." Squaring up, I jabbed. The metal dented easily under my fists. "Everything is mine. Every bunker, the company, even Lex's house is technically mine now because it was Lillian's. She left me everything in her will."

"Oh." Kara was speechless like I was at first. "What are you going to do?"

"For the bunkers, see what that specific area needs and turn it into a school, low cost housing, or something else. As for Lex's mansion," I scoffed. "Definitely housing for low income families or a children's home. It has a pool, movie theater, and a bowling alley in it. Once Lex is back in prison, I'm tempted to buy it to make sure he can't get special treatment. Clearly, he's been waltzing in and out at his own leisure. Linda is proof of that." With a final punch, the underside of the car blew across the room. Stepping back, calmness washed over me.

"See? It helps," Kara grinned. Hearing my stomach growl caused the blonde to laugh. In a flash, everything was cleaned up. "Let's get some food."

After raiding the fridge, Kara and I went into her special room to eat. We were greeted by Linda reading The Great Gatsby to Mikhail. "I love that book," I smiled.

"I do too," Linda beamed from her cot. "It's so beautiful." Her eyes lingered on the book's cover. "It was one of the first books Al…Lex gave me after I learned English. He got angry when I didn't take from it what he wanted."

"He yelled and told you to read it again?" I took a seat in one of the folding chairs that was against the wall.

She nodded. "What happened earlier? I heard Alex say Lex was spotted outside L-Corp and there was an attack."

"Lex….he tried to kill me." Blood drained from Linda's face. "Our mother stepped between us to protect me. She died a few hours ago."

"Lena, I'm so sorry." Biting the inside of her cheek, she looked at Mikhail. "He really is a bad man. Why would he attack his sister?"

"Because I'm like you and Kara. I'm Kryptonian." Confusion washed over the woman's face. "I was human but was attacked by some men who hated aliens and anyone who helped them. Kara took me to Argo and I was healed there. During the final scans, a spot was found in my brain. It was going to kill me but Kara found a substance that changed me. The yellow sun radiation healed that spot."

"He hates all Kryptonians…" Linda's voice trailed as she remembered our previous conversations. "Even his sister."

"Yes." The look on her face is breaking my heart.

Alura's hologram appeared, starting us all. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

Crossing the distance, Kara pressed a few buttons on the panel. "Yes, I'm here."

"The Council has granted your request for sanctuary. Linda and the child may stay on Argo for as long as necessary since she is of Kryptonian descent. While the boy isn't, we know she won't leave him."

"Thank you. We will bring her and Mikhail to Argo soon. Due to recent events, we need to bring them tonight." Kara paused, glancing back towards me. "We're dealing with something here."

"Of course. Please, tell Lena I said hello."

"Hello, Alura," I called. "Hope you're well. Thank you for helping us again."

"Anything for my daughter's-,"

"Okay! Give us an hour! Bye Mom!" Kara ended the transmission quickly.

"Kara, why is your face so red? Lena is your mate, yes?" Linda questioned.

"I…she is but…" Kara stammered. "It's just…Kryptonian traditions and all. Mother will teach you everything once you're on Argo." What has Alura been telling her? Are they pressuring her? "Lena, I can feel your eyes burning into me."

"Sorry," I chuckled. "Talk about it later?"

"Yeah," she turned. "I was going to tell you and then everything happened today."

"I understand." Fighting a yawn, I rolled my shoulders.

"Will we ever see you again?" Linda's voice was timid as she looked between Kara and myself.

"Oh, yeah!" Kara exclaimed. "We plan to visit every few months and eventually may stay for longer durations."

"Good," she smiled. "I know you said we could come back after Lex is gone but…"

"After you make friends there and start a new life, we would never ask you to leave," I paused. "Alura has a library in her home." Linda's face lit. "Plenty to read."

"We can visit you too. J'onn, Alex, and Brainy have been so nice to us."

"They would enjoy that." Pushing off the control panel, Kara rubbed her hands together. "Shall we?"

"Do we need to pack up your apartment?" I stood.

"No. Kara and I did that earlier today. There wasn't much I wanted to keep."

"Oh. Be right back." Using my super speed, I flew back home and grabbed the picture of us all I had printed and framed.

Flying back into the D.E.O., I walked back into Kara's room. "I had this printed for you."

Taking the frame, Linda smiled. "Thank you." Wrapping her arms around me, she squeezed. "This means so much to me."

After saying goodbye to everyone, Kara and I showed Linda and Mikhail the transmatter portal. "This will take us to Argo?"

"Yes. J'onn and I will stay here to make sure everything goes smoothly until we need to turn it back on for Kara and Lena to return." Hugging them both, Alex smiled. "I'm glad you're able to be around other Kryptonians. Sorry we never got to have a Danvers Sister Night."

"When we come to visit," Linda smiled.

Kneeling, J'onn gave Mikhail the soccer ball they had been kicking around. "Make new friends."

"I will," the boy smiled.

"Good luck," Alex gave a thumbs up as she turned on the portal. Once it finished powering up, Kara and I ushered the two through and onto Argo.

We were greeted by Alura and a few others. "Wow," the brunette's jaw slacked. "You do look exactly like Kara."

Linda swayed, fidgeting with her duffle bag. "I hope that's not, what's the word, awkward, for you."

"Not at all," she smiled. "Hello there." Alura knelt to Mikhail's level. "You play this game?" The boy nodded shyly. "We have plenty of children who play as well."

"Really?" His voice pitched upwards.

Alura nodded before standing. "Before I can show you around, you both will need to quarantine to make sure you're not carrying a lethal contagion. Once you've been cleared, we can start to integrate you."

Remembering what happened when Lex turned the sun red, I spoke. "What about the red sun and…" I glanced towards Mikhail.

"We have yellow sun lamps for him. The Council has discussed changing his cells like we did yours. We will talk to Linda and him about it when the time comes. Until the seven day quarantine is over, he will be under a yellow lamp."

"Okay. I know humans and red suns don't mix well for the long run. Depending on the situation at home and if they flourish here, he may not need to be changed."

"This is true. I wish, for his sake, whatever happens is the best for them both."

Turning towards Linda, I smiled. "We will see you in a month or so. You can contact us via the hologram if needed." Kneeling, I hugged Mikhail too. "Bye." I ruffled his hair.

"Thank you again," Kara said, hugging her mother.

"You're welcome." Stepping back, Alura clasped her hands before her. "We will see you soon. Please, keep me updated on your coming battle."

"I will," Kara nodded. Smiling towards me, she held out her hand. "Ready to go home?"

"Very much so."

Kara's POV

By the time we got back to Lena's, both her phone and mine were full of texts and missed calls from Andrea and Miss Grant. A few of them are pictures of Lena in a suit of armor standing next to Supergirl. Shrugging, I grinned. "You handle Andrea and I'll handle Miss Grant?"

"Yes." The exhausted brunette sighed as she slumped down on the couch. "Once some fires are put out, I want to go to bed."

"I get it. Sunlight helps prevent physical exhaustion, not emotional." Dialing Miss Grant, I waited.

"What the hell is going on in National City?"

"On which front?" Filling the kettle, I began making tea.

"Lena Luthor holding her dying mother in a suit? Lex Luthor being the murderer. I thought the bastard was in jail."

"Yeah, about that, Lena knew Lex was unstable, more than normal, so she created an armor for herself in case he ever attacked. Lillian didn't know about it. We're not sure how Lex escaped prison. I'm going to be looking into it tomorrow." Pouring the tea, I allowed it to steep.

"I leave National City and all hell breaks loose."

"Pretty much."

"I was off the grid when Lena was attacked and CatCo went up for sale. Otherwise, I would have bought it back. Living life freely is nice and all but it gets boring."

I couldn't help but chuckle. I could picture Miss Grant's annoyed expression clearly. "National City isn't the same without its Queen of Media."

"If Andrea ever wants to sell, let me know. I'll snatch it in a heartbeat. I miss my empire." She paused, choosing her words. "I also don't like the click bait bullshit she's been pushing."

Thank Rao, someone else is fed up with it too. "It misses you. I will let Andrea know."

"Let Andrea know what?" Lena asked, pausing in her endless loop around the apartment.

"If Andrea ever wants to sell CatCo, Miss Grant wants to know. She plans to buy it back." I set two mugs full of steamy liquid on the counter. "She was off the grid when you sold it." Something flashed across Lena's face that I couldn't read.

"I'll let her know." Taking the mug, Lena sipped it. "Thank you, Kara."

"You're welcome," I smiled.

"And you got your girl. It's about time. I knew you were head over heels for that woman. I want details."

My snort gained Lena's attention. Waving it off, I laughed. "Yes, I finally told her how I felt. It was a bumpy road at first but now we're good." Eventually, she'll be my wife.

"Good. You deserve to be happy. Mon-El made you smile but Lena Luthor makes you shine brighter than the sun."

Feeling my cheeks flush, I turned away from the pacing brunette. "Yeah, yeah she does." Clearing my throat, I glanced at the clock. "It's past midnight and we're both exhausted. I'll keep you updated."

"Alright. Give Lena my condolences."

"I will. Thank you, Miss Grant." Ending the call, I sipped my tea and sat on the couch.

"I'll make sure Kara knows," Lena chuckled. "Bye." I watched as Lena came to sit beside me with a sigh. "Andrea wants you bright and early tomorrow morning. She wants William to cover the story since we're dating and it's, technically, a conflict of interest."

"I figured that was going to happen sooner or later." Finishing my tea, I set the cup on a coaster. "Chill for a little bit and then bed?" I wrapped my arm around the frazzled brunette.

"Sounds perfect."

LUTHOR VS LUTHOR

Lena Luthor spotted outside L-Corp in a suit of armor. Her mother, Lillian Luthor, on the ground after jumping into the line of fire from Lex Luthor. Will we have a War of the Luthors here in National City?

Sighing at the headline and blurb, I walked onto my floor. William caught me before I could sit. He cringed seeing the newspaper under my arm. "Clearly, that wasn't me."

"I know." Tossing the paper into the trash, opened my laptop. "Will you try to stay as unbiased as possible with Lena's story? I can't cover anything about The Luthors now that we're a public couple."

"Of course." Folding his arms, William leaned against my desk. "Besides, Lex is the bad one," he paused. "Killing his own mother, though?"

"He was aiming at Lena, I think." Stay on the edge. I can't say why Lex wants to kill Lena. "Lillian jumped in front of her."

"Why would he try to kill her? I know siblings don't always get along but that's a bit extreme. Even for him."

"The only thing I can think of is because Lena doesn't share her brother's view on aliens."

"I don't know Lena, and I've only recently started to know you, but I'm glad you have each other. You seem to balance one another."

"Thanks," I smiled. Hearing Andrea cursing in the elevator, I cleared my throat and started working. "Pretty sure Andrea is going to be tense today."

"Probably." William pushed off my desk as the elevator doors opened.

"William, Kara, in my office!"

"Here we go," he shrugged with a nervous grin.

Entering the office, Andrea looked between us. "Kara, you can't write this one. You're too close to it. William, can I trust you to stay impartial on this?"

"Of course," he nodded. "I can still coordinate with Kara for meetings with Miss Luthor. I'm certain she'll be busy for a while."

"That's fine. Will you try to set up a meeting with her for today? Or try to find out more details? Supergirl may know something. She flew Lillian to the hospital."

"I'll be on it." William closed the glass door behind him.

Deflating a little, Andrea rubbed her temple. "This job is more stressful than I thought. How did Cat do it?"

"I'm not quite sure to be honest. Miss Grant is a force unlike any other." I made sure no one was within ear shot before continuing. "She was serious about buying back CatCo."

"I can't sell yet. I've only owned it for less than two months. Even Lena owned it for a year." Bowing her head, she sighed. "Granted, she had help at L-Corp. I don't. I'm running CatCo and preparing for the Obsidian North launch."

"Just something to keep in mind." Writing down Miss Grant's personal number, I slid it across the desk. "She wanted you to have this."

"Thank you, Kara."

The next few days were hectic to say the least. Lena kept her composure dealing with everything company and Lillian related. The media was split down the middle on tasteful or trashy. I did my best as Supergirl to help shine a positive light on Lena and keep the lies at bay. Doing some digging, we found out that Lex was bribing the Warden and other prison employees to let him come and go as he pleased. With Lex escaped from prison, everyone was on high alert. We still weren't sure if he knew about Lena's powers or not.

A small funeral was held at the mausoleum Lienal was buried in. Board members and our friends were the only ones to attend. Out of respect, and the promise of a press conference, most media outlets stayed away. The security Lena hired kept the rest away.

As board members left, I took Lena's hand. "Check in? I know the past week has been intense."

Squeezing my hand, a soft smile ghosted the woman's lips. "Considering everything, I'm alright for the moment. That answer might be different in five minutes but I'm going with "alright" for now."

"J'onn and I were going to cook you some meals," Alex hugged us quickly. "Nia said there's only so much pasta she and Brainy can cook for you."

"It's very appreciated, thank you." Placing a hand on my sister's arm, Lena continued. "Keeping us fed has helped more than words can express."

"You're welcome. It's the least I can do since there's nothing else I can take off your plate."

"Any leads on Lex's whereabouts?" I asked, frowning when Alex shook her head. "Crap."

"I'm surprised he didn't show up today," Alex glanced around. "Do either of you hear anything?"

"No," we answered.

"I'll start laying out plans for each bunker and contacting the needed officials next week. That might draw him out." Glancing towards her watch, Lena sighed. "The press conference is in an hour. I need to prepare."

"Crazy that they couldn't give you a day," Alex smirked.

"I'm a Luthor. I'm used to it," Lena shrugged. "I'd rather get everything done in one day anyway." She smiled at me. "At least I'll have Kara as backup in the front row."

"Of course," I grinned. "Nowhere else I'd be."

Once the press conference was over, we went back to my place for the night. Landing in the living room, the CEO ran fingers through her windswept hair. "Flying really is nice."

Chuckling, I hugged Lena from behind. "It is." Resting my cheek on the brunette's shoulder, I inhaled her perfume. "I love you."

Placing her hands over mine, Lena hummed. "I love you too."
