Season 3 Episode 13
In a cafe, Ayanokouji and Hiyori are hanging out. "I see you brought a new book."
"Yes! I really want to hear your thoughts on it, Ayanokouji-kun." said Hiyori as she sipped her coffee a bit.
"Have you read it already?"
"It was a very interesting book, so you can return it directly to the library when you finish reading it." Hiyori replied and Ayanokouji found a bookmark between the last page and the back of the book. "By the way, let me ask you something straight out, were you the one who changed Ryuuen-kun?"
"What makes you think so?" He asked.
"I was just fitting the pieces of a puzzle together." She replied but he said nothing about it and she noticed it.
"Oh...I apologize if this upsets you. I understand that you do not wish to have this conversation. If I lose a friend who has the same hobby as me because of this, I am sure to regret this." Hiyori spoke with an apology included in her words. "But I thought that if I didn't bring this up, I wouldn't make any further progress."
"Any further progress?" Ayanokouji asked.
"Sorry! I'm getting confused, even though I said so myself." Hiyori apologized again and brought this up. "You know, the reason for my words is that we, Class D fought in the final exam and..."
He knew what she's talking about as she spoke on. "It was clearly a bad move to make our opponent suffer an utter defeat."
"You knew that much and yet you didn't stop him?" Ayanokouji asked her.
"Do you think that he's the kind of person who will listen when I give him advice?" Hiyori asked him back.
He said nothing for a second. "How about you pass him my message? If you don't mind Hiyori."
"Hai! Just tell me."
At the same time, "Karuizawa-san, I want to thank you at the bottom of my heart for saving me from expulsion back at that Class Poll."
"All good Manabe-san. That's what friends are for." She replied.
"Tell you what, you can call me Shiho from now on if you like."
"Cool. You can then call me Kei if you like."
"I wonder, how did you get the points to nullify my expulsion?"
"Well...I can only say that...I was given the points from an anonymous source and it tipped me on instructions related to your class poll. That's all I know."
"I see. Well, I won't ask about it then." As they walked together, Karuizawa caught a glimpse of Ayanokouji and Hiyori and because of that, "Hey Shiho-chan. I need to meet someone for a discussion."
"Really Kei-chan? What about our lunch time together?"
"It won't be long. You go ahead, I'll catch up with you."
"Alright then."
Karuizawa then entered the cafe just as Hiyori left the place. As for Ayanokouji, he continued reading the book as she approached him and noticed a paper bag. "Hey. You were with someone, am I right?"
"Take a seat first." He ordered.
"If I do that, people see us sitting together and rumours will spread regarding us." She replied.
"Just take a seat." He ordered again and she sighed and sat beside him. "I was with Hiyori and we have the same hobby of reading and we talk a lot. As you can see, I'm reading a book that she brought and recommended me to read through."
"And you guys literally call each other by name..." Karuizawa murmured to herself while Ayanokouji resumed his reading. "Ah whatever. I'm out of here." She left to meet up with Manabe as he observed her a bit while reading.
Meanwhile...
In the public restroom for the males, Ryuuen and Hashimoto are having a discussion.
"I heard how well you did in the final exam." Hashimoto began. "Can I assume you're back in full force then?"
"Who knows? Maybe I just did that on a whim." Ryuuen replied.
Hashimoto smirked and asked, "So what are you going to do now?"
"Don't think you can win easily by being a double agent, you bad, snake boy." Ryuuen replied with a warning as he faced him.
"Sorry but double agent? I'm not planning on settling things with only 2 classes." Hashimoto replied calmly when Ryuuen noticed something. No correction, Someone. "Kanzaki?"
"He insisted on coming to see you." Hashimoto explained and behind, Kanzaki waited and observed them with a serious look.
"And in return, am I going to get a connection to Class B?" Ryuuen asked. "Did you think Kanzaki would accept something like that?"
"Sure he will." Hashimoto replied with assurance as he face Kanzaki. "Isn't that right?"
"Hashimoto, I don't trust you firstly. But I do think you're worth using." He replied to him as he stepped inside.
"Say, are you going to tell me how you feel about getting completely defeated? It was really a crushing one I can describe." Ryuuen asked him with a bit of taunting.
"I'll tell you such cowardly acts aren't going to work against Class B in the future." Kanzaki replied seriously.
"You're just Ichinose's follower. Right hand man also. What can you even do?" Ryuuen asked while walking to face him directly.
"It's true that I've stood by her side and supported her for the past year." Kanzaki replied. "But if ever she can't do any good or make the right moves and decisions, then I'll deal with enemies like you in a different way than Ichinose." His eyes really are serious as he added, "Now if we're done here, I'm gonna take a piss."
"Fine. I'll also do the same." said Ryuuen.
"Me too. Been holding it ever since we started it and before you arrived." said Hashimoto as the 3 boys each went to a urinal, emptied their bladders and left the restroom one by one.
Later on...
After a while of reading, Ayanokouji decided to head back to his dorm and it appears a downpour is about to rain down from the skies. He met up with Ishizaki and Ibuki as they chat with him a bit and after, they headed inside the mall.
A couple of minutes later, he arrived and noticed someone standing in the rain, feeling sad to herself while holding onto her handbag. "You'll catch a cold if you stand there like this, Honami."
"Kiyotaka..."
A while later, it cuts to his dorm as, "You're surprisingly pushy Kiyotaka." Honami told him as he handed her a towel dry her hair.
"That's because you don't seem to want to go back to your room. I have to stand beside you with the umbrella shielding you from the rain. I waited until you really want to go inside." He replied as he went to make some drinks.
"When I'm feeling weak and doubtful, you're always there by my side, Kiyotaka."
"I did say before that you can talk to me for comfort and I'll be able to listen and understand you."
"I can't do that. I've been relying on you for so long." She replied. "It would be shameless if I always show my uncool side."
"You don't trust me?" He asked.
"No that's not true! I trust you more than anyone else." She replied looking away a bit.
"Even if we're enemies in different classes?" He asked.
"I don't want to call you an enemy so easily. You're not my ally but you are someone I can trust." She replied and he said nothing else as he finished making the drinks.
2 mugs of hot chocolate coming right up as he handed one to Honami and had the other one.
"You know, I feel keenly aware when I talked to Horikita the other day." Honami continued the talk between herself and Ayanokouji. "She's really grown so much this past year. The same goes for Ryuuen and Sakayanagi. In summary, all the class leaders are getting much stronger."
"Something I can agree with." He replied as he sipped his drink.
"Tell me, will I win down the road?" She asked him. "Now I'm feeling scared. What should I do with myself a year from now...what should I do..." Putting the mug aside, she began to cry to herself when she felt his hand placed on her left cheek. "Whoa...you really are a mysterious person Kiyotaka..."
"Hey, Honami, look at me in the eye." He asked as she looked up at him. "Will you promise to go through the next year without hesitation so that we can see each other more often?"
At first, she had doubts as, "That's...but what if..."
"It doesn't matter." He interrupted her. "I promise to tell you what I wanted to tell you now when we meet then."
"Then I'll make a promise to you too. I promise to fight with all my might this year and aim for Class A!" Honami declared as he nodded at this.
The future has yet to be determined. But also, this would be the right timing to do it. Yes, to survive the upcoming school year, I need to make the most of it. Especially with her...
So with that, "Tomorrow, can we meet here again?"
"Sure! Is there a reason for this meet up?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
The next day...
"This place sure feels nostalgic." Ayanokouji described for he's at the same place where he swung his fists at Ryuuen and his followers. Now, there are sports equipment stored and arranged in there. Speaking of which, "More importantly monster, what does this message from Hiyori mean?"
"So you're finally here Ryuuen." He began as he turned to face him and he has his phone out showing him the message from Hiyori. "The message means exactly what it sounds like."
"I could've done better," you say?" Ryuuen asked.
"Truth to be told, I'll be lonely if you do something reckless and you leave the school for doing that." Ayanokouji stated.
"Heh. For someone who lost to Sakayanagi, you sure are talking a big game." Ryuuen stated back.
"It's true that I lost. And since I was the Commander, I can't make any excuses." Ayanokouji admitted.
"Ha? So you're saying that you're looking down on me?" Ryuuen asked while walking to him and he looks somewhat pissed. "You beat me before and there's no way you're weaker than Sakayanagi! Could it be that you didn't even want to compete for first place...or did you have an accident that was beyond control? Am I wrong?" The last sentence, he spoke in a calmer tone as Ayanokouji looked at him directly. "So what are you going to do now, Ryuuen?"
"I'm planning on enjoying this break a bit longer. When I get tired of that, I'm gonna crush Sakayanagi and Ichinose as a warm-up. And if there's anyone who's going to get you kicked out of the school...IT'S GONNA BE ME!"
Ryuuen the attempted a finger thrust but Ayanokouji shifted his head to the right and blocked a front kick with ease. "Not bad."
"That was total surprise attack." He replied to him as he lowered his right leg down.
"You have potential. That's why you have to grow more and get better Ryuuen."
"Since when did you become my master?"
"The moves you used for Class B. If someone had been able to get the evidence, you're done." Ayanokouji explained. "If you keep using your dirty tricks and schemes, you won't even get a rematch with me." Ryuuen listened on as he advised him. "Don't do anything that can easily be traced back to you."
"Fine. I'll take your damn, shitty advice for now. But I'll definitely crush you someday." Ryuuen then prepared to leave but before that, "One more thing, did you use Karuizawa to save Manabe from expulsion? I forgot to ask you this back then."
"It's up to your own assumption." He replied.
"Ha! Never thought you'll go soft on my class." Ryuuen then left as, "It wouldn't be so bad if you're the one who's going to crush me." Ayanokouji spoke to himself as he looked at the time. Lunch time it is as he also left the area.
Meanwhile...
At a restaurant, Karuizawa, Chiaki, Satou and Shinohara are hanging out for lunch and bonding.
"Hey Shinohara-san, have you been going out with Ike-kun lately?" Satou asked starting a new conversation as she sipped her glass of soda.
"Wh-What? I told you it's not like that!" Shinohara denied even though she had a light blush on her face.
"C'mon, you don't have to deny it." Chiaki spoke to her.
"And I'm really curious about it too!" Karuizawa added.
"I told you, it's not like that!" Shinohara denied it again.
"Eh? Really? Your face is red." Satou teased her.
"Even your ears are red!" Chiaki teased her also.
"Oh come on, stop it! That's enough!" Shinohara exclaimed.
"Then, how about you buy us a crepe for dessert later once our lunch has arrived?" Chiaki suggested as she and Satou laughed. On the other hand, "If there's one thing I have observed for a while, some of the boys that were total idiots have been working hard to became better." Karuizawa brought up.
"Really?" Satou asked.
"I have noticed it. Sudou-kun doesn't flare up a lot and was able to work with others during the basketball event, Ike-kun has matured thanks to his camping experience and being less idiotic and even Sotomura-kun proved his usefulness in the typing event." Chiaki recalled.
"Exactly." Karuizawa agreed to her words. "With the exception of Yamauchi-kun."
"Agreed. His expulsion is well-deserved since he gloated about the rumours in amusement." said Shinohara and then, their lunch has arrived as the 4 girls began eating together.
Karuizawa and Chiaki had lasange, Satou had aglio olio with shrimp and Shinohara had baked rice with cream sauce, chicken and mushroom. As the girls enjoyed their lunch, "Oh yes Satou-san, how is it going with Ayanokouji-kun?"
"What?" She exclaimed and Karuizawa gasped.
"That's right! You said you were wondering if you should confess to him, right?" Shinohara exclaimed as she sipped her glass of soda.
"W-Well...I think you might need to know this." Satou told Chiaki and Shinohara about what happened last year on Christmas. Karuizawa knew about this already and the other two are shocked to hear it.
"So he rejected you?! Is he dumb or stupid?!" Shinohara asked and demanding to know more about this.
"Shinohara-san. Your voice is too loud." Karuizawa told her and she was embarrassed.
"Well you see...I think that Ayanokouji-kun...likes someone else..." Satou revealed and they're surprised by this.
"She's right. There is someone that he likes deep down in his heart. I've heard that she helped him adapt to the school life here." Karuizawa revealed.
"Majikayo?" Shinohara asked as Karuizawa nodded. Chiaki on the other hand is curious about this as the girls continued to chat and eat their lunch.
Later on...
"I didn't expect you to call me here in a place like this. What business do you have with me Tsukihiro?"
"Well firstly, think of this spring break as your last holiday before you return to your father." Tsukihiro began.
"I like this school already." He replied.
"Then your future school life here will be very difficult once you begin your second year. So how about we play a game?" Tsukihiro proposed. "You see, the White Room will send a person to begin the school journey here as a new student."
"You called the place to have them send this person here." Ayanokouji deduced.
"And this is your main objective of the game. If you can figure out the name of the student from the White Room by the end of April, then I will humbly and voluntarily step down as the Acting Director and Sakayanagi will be reinstated back to his job." Tsukihiro explained. "You are no longer the only excellent example, and it is this student who will be the one to lead you away."
"Wakarimashita. I accept your challenge. But I have one thing that I'm really confident in." Ayanokouji then stated this as his eyes unveiled the inner darkness. "There is no one in the White Room who's better than me."
"Oh when I see the deep, inner darkness in your dark, eerie eyes, you're just like your father." Tsukihiro stated. "So be it. The game begins once the new school year begins. Once again I will say this, your days are numbered, your freedom is near it's limit." He then left going to his right. Ayanokouji waited for a few seconds and went to his left and when he got out, "Do you need something from me Matsushita?"
"Yikes! You knew I was hiding here?" She exclaimed while feeling startled.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"N-Nothing. But what are you talking about with the director?" She asked.
"They're going to renovate this area and he happened to spot me and ask me for my opinion."
"Oh I see." Chiaki bought it and he expected it. "Say, can we talk?"
It cuts to the park as by the fountain as, "Some time ago, I saw you at the park talking to Hirata-kun who was at that time being a recluse." Chiaki brought up as he remain silent. "It's not a coincidence that he got back on his feet is it? Aren't you much more capable when it comes to academics and sports, Ayanokouji-kun?"
"I held back because I don't like to stand out. But things are getting more interesting and I can say that it might be time I can give it my best. As of now, I'm showing about 70 or 80 percent of what I can do."
"Then I too, shall do the same and move up to Class A!" Chiaki declared.
"Just don't expect too much from me." He replied as he thought of it. "It seems Matsushita also hides her true abilities just like me."
"Wakata. And please tell me one more thing...is it true that there is a girl that you see as special in your life?" She asked. "Karuizawa made mention about this. So what is it between you and her?"
"Time will tell. See you again." Ayanokouji then left as she felt concerned about him.
That night...
In his dorm, Ayanokouji waited as he pet Felix on the head as the kitten purred about when he got a phone call. Answering it, "What do you want Horikita?"
"It's about aiming for Class A in the future. I wonder if you can unleash your abilities to help us with that." She asked and she's seen drinking a glass of milk while doing a bit of advanced studying and revision for the next school year.
"Maybe. Maybe not. That depends."
"Why is your answer so bland and boring?"
"It's because there's no one in our year who's on my level right now so I don't see the point in giving it my all." He replied.
"Then how about I test you. At the start of our second year, how about you compete against me in a written exam?" She asked.
"If I win, I will ask you to join the student council and if you win, I'll contribute for the class all the way. No holding back." He suggested.
"Acceptable. But may I ask for the reason regarding me joining the student council?" She asked.
"I'll tell you when you lose."
"I don't like that. Regardless, I look forward to it. Later then."
By the time their conversation ended, the doorbell rang as he attended to it. Opening it, "Good timing Honami."
"So...what is it you want to talk about?" She asked as she stepped in. They sat on the bed as it begins.
"It's been a year since school started. Soon, we'll be entering the next phase in the next school year." He began.
"Yes. Our first year was full of ups and downs." She agreed with him and Felix rubbed himself on her as she pet him.
"Indeed. We've helped each other a lot and hang out a lot too." He stated as they recalled the many good memories they had together.
"And when things are difficult, you were always there for me." Honami added as she recalled the incident about her past and then, they looked at each other for seconds. "Um...this is getting awkward..."
"Then I'll get straight to the point." Ayanokouji got himself ready as he thought of it. "Perhaps this is a good timing..."
So with that, "Honami...will you go out with me?"
She gasped at his words as, "Hold on K-Kiyotaka...what are you..."
"I ask again Honami. Will you go out with me?"
"Um...I...I don't understand. But why?" Honami asked as she stood up feeling unsure about this while looking away.
"It's because even before we interacted, I knew I loved you before I met you. Like how fate connected us." Ayanokouji declared this and Honami was speechless as her face felt flustered. Ayanokouji then stood up to face her as, "Are you serious K-Kiyotaka..."
"Why would I not? I like you Ichinose Honami. You helped me when I lack experience in freedom in this school. You aided me in a few class issues and through your guidance, I'm able to do what I never got the chance to do in my freedom."
She gasped again and this time, it's in happiness as she smiled at him. "Yes...Yes! I'll go out with you Kiyotaka!"
Her words made him smile but also, "But what about the others? Do you think we should do something about them? I just hope that a rift will tear our classes apart." She brought up.
"We'll keep it a secret for now. When the timing is right again, we'll let it be known to everyone." Ayanokouji assured to her as she went close to him and embraced him. Felix meowed in elation and then, the warm feeling took effect as Ayanokouji embraced her back. He can feel that it's the strongest and warmest feeling he's ever felt in his life. Even so, "It's like a dream come true! I hope to make the first move on him but it was the opposite! This is the best and you truly are an amazing person, Kiyotaka." Honami thought to herself as she cherished the embrace. "I'll even do my best to let you experience what it's like to be loved. Especially when I'm embracing someone precious to me."
Even so, Ayanokouji also cherished it with his own point of view.
People are creatures that love to learn and grow. This new relationship was not only necessary for Honami's growth but it is also for me to protect her from external threats like Nagumo and at least learn from her. At the same time, love is the one aspect that I could not learn in the White Room and maybe by bonding with Honami through love, a different future awaits me, who knows? At this very moment, fate and destiny has fulfilled their roles and I am smiling brightly while embracing someone precious to me
Yeah. I guess it's the right timing to make them official. But they'll for now, keep it a secret so that they can look out for each other and avoid stirring up Nagumo's wrath and drama in their own respective classes.
Some dialogues were cut out and the rest is as usual. For the last scene between Ayanokouji Kiyotaka and Ichinose Honami, I hope I did okay or decent at least.
