ASSOCIATIONS: Tower Ramen Shop, Vanguard, Flux-13, Prison of Elders.
[Cayde-6 is seen approaching the ramen shop and spots Vendrick-5. He walks up and claps a hand on his shoulder causing him to visibly flinch.]
[C-6] Vendrick-5 as I live and breath! I haven't seen you for awhile. How've you been buddy?
[V-5] Scared the crap outta me Cayde, I was just...having some lunch.
[C-6] Looks to me like you were sulking, you haven't even touched your ramen.
[Cayde-6 pulls a chair up next to Vendrick-5.]
[C-6] Ok, spill. What's eating you?
[V-5] *Sigh* Saw right through me huh...it's nothing really, just…

[C-6] Look kiddo, I can't bestow my glorious advice upon you if you don't tell me what's wrong.
[V-5] It's just...I've been thinking about Flux and Tonitrus.
[C-6] Oh yeah! They're those other two exos I see you hanging around with.
[V-5] They both have their own special thing. Like, Tonitrus is a member of the Task Force. You know, that special warlock order that protects the city from within.

[V-5] And Flux is the best guardian we've had since...well forever really. And he's not even that old.

[V-5] None of our accomplishments can even compare to his. Like, he slew both Crota and Oryx with their own swords, blew up a Hive worm god by jumping into it, and even beat Gaul in an Arc empowered fist fight! Seriously, who does that?!

[V-5] That's only a few of the things he's done! He's accomplished so much, earned the respect of everyone in the system, has too many titles to remember...saved humanity and all I'm good at is climbing stuff, pretending to be a scout.
[C-6] Ok, Stop. Time out. This is obviously bigger than Flux. You're afraid of being overshadowed, am I right?
[Vendrick-5 nods.]
[C-6] Don't sell yourself short like that bud. You're one of my best hunters around. Sure, what Flux has done is extraordinary and puts the rest of us to shame but that doesn't mean we aren't relevant. Hell, you've helped him accomplish all those things. We all did.
[V-5] That's just it. We helped him. Sometimes I feel like he's the main character of this universe.
[C-6] Woah, that felt weird.
[V-5] What?
[C-6] …Nothing. Look, don't let his achievements hold you back from being the best guardian you can be. He's not the main character of your story, you are. Sure, his accomplishments completely overshadow yours, but guess what? It's the same with every single guardian both dead and alive. No one will come close to him. Ever. But that shouldn't matter. Worry about you. If you stop letting the actions of others affect you, you'll be much happier.

[C-6] And from the way I see it, I think he truly values your friendship.
[V-5] Really?
[C-6] Yeah, you haven't noticed? Believe it or not, he looks up to you and Tonitrus. You two are the only people he turns to for advice, to ask deep personal questions, or just to have a fun time. Like you said, he's not that old. So he needs someone to guide him. Someone to trust. Not as a superior like me or Zavala, but a friend to accompany him. Someone other than his ghost.
[V-5] Cayde...how do you know all of this?
[C-6] Trade secret Ven. Lets just say it's all part of the job.

[C-6] And I wasn't kidding when I said you're one of my best hunters around. Your resurrection was the first in decades. So me, Brask, and Shiro made a vow to train you to perfection. Well, perfection in a hunter's sense that is. And his resurrection was no different. He was the first in a long time. So we directed him to you since you knew what it was like to be in his position.
[Cayde-6 proceeds to look over his shoulder]
[C-6] And just between you and me, you're my favorite guardian. Regardless of what anyone else has done.
[V-5] Heh, now you sound like Lord Shaxx...thanks Cayde.
[C-6] Yeah, yeah I know. I'm the best. Now enough with the somber talk I'm starving. Hey waiter! Get me the same thing my friend here has. You pay yet?
[V-5] Uh...no.
[C-6] Good. Cause it's on me.

[C-6] I just talked to Petra and apparently there's a massive riot at the Prison of Elders. She wants us to provide backup.
[V-5] But what about Variks? Wouldn't he have prevented something like this from happening in the first place?
[C-6] I thought so too, but she tried contacting him and he hasn't responded which is slightly concerning.
[V-6] Prison riot...sounds fun.
[C-6] That's the spirit! There is one more thing though.
[V-5] Yeah?
[C-6] Remember those weird looking Fallen we hunted down a few months back?
[V-5] Yeah, I remember. You, me, Shiro, three others and Petra tracked down the entire faction and locked them up in that same prison. Was a huge pain in the ass.
[C-6] That's them, she also wants to make sure they remain secure while we work.
[V-5] Typical assignment...alright, I'm game.
[C-6] Sweet! Let's finish up here and get the show on the road.
