Chapter LXXXV: The Symbiote Saga.

Last Time.

"Well, yeah. It can see the Hulk. But vampires are invisible to tech remember? House can't fight what it can't see."

"We're stuck in here. What are we supposed to do?" Crossbones asked as Naruto looked back

"Get to the middle of the cabin. It's our best bet. Should be alright as long as the metal from the lockdown stays in place…. In return for not attacking us. I'll let you go at dawn before calling the others."

Dawn.

Naruto opened the cabin and let the villains go before calling the Avengers. "Make sure you're on the right side, Frost."

"Change the world or break it." She said to him, "Thanks, Shinobi. You've given me a lot to think about."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy.

Naruto read a report on Naruto while house-sitting for Strange, had Mysterio's daughter come in, take the helmet, and find out he was alive inside before saving him with the hero he saw before Moon Knight. "Better him than me." He says looking at an application to ask Mysterio's daughter to join the school.

Now.

Oscorp.

"How's he holding up?"

Naruto, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, asked Mary Jane in Harry's room. "No real improvement."

"Yeah, Pete's sorry he can't be here… Really strict school where we're at."

"I know Naruto. I understand."

"And I know the world's dimmer since I left." Mary Jane stared at the blonde. "Just trying to lighten the mood."

"It's nice to see you though."

Naruto smiled at that. "Same."

After an hour of talking, he got an alert before standing. "Gotta go, new classmates need me."

Going outside, Naruto met with Spider-Man and Agent Venom who had just been cleared for missions, and a man with fair skin, and thick black hair parted in the middle wearing a HYDRA battle suit. "This that Morbius guy you told me about on the way here?" Naruto asked before dodging a missile.

He ran around before jumping up in the air then dropped down on the Doctor then threw him into a building. When getting to it, he saw Morbius was gone.

Later, after finding where Morbius was, crashed through to see Doctor Octopus stick him with a syringe, having him transform into a vampire with wings connected to his arms as he threw a vial at Ock having the red symbiote cover him. "Shit!" Naruto cursed before dodging a swipe from Carnage Ock.

Naruto looked to see Morbius fly out before all three attacked the symbiote Doc Ock as the venom symbiote went back in Flash. "Oh, not now! What are you afraid of, Symbiote?"

Naruto went into his red cloak and punched the doctor through the building into another before dashing to pull the symbiote off, returning Doctor Octopus to his regular self before HYDRA. It tried to attach to him before he put an explosive tag on it and threw it up, having it explode. And he saw the remains attached to the people below. "Today's just not my day!"

Naruto jumped down into an alley and had a call from MJ. "Yeah, I see… You OK?"

"They're trying to get in!"

"I'll get help while getting there!" Naruto replied, running down the street dodging swipes from Carnage people.

"Need a hand Soldier?"

Naruto turned to see Cap behind him. "Yeah, hard to fight back without harming the people it's taken over. It's another Symbiote Doctor Octopus created."

"(ROAR!)"

Naruto turned to see a symbiote Hulk before sighing. "Shit!"

Naruto dodged a swipe and ran to punch the Hulk. "Hope you can take this big guy." Naruto created a Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere.) and had the Hulk be sent back. "Let's get him angry!"

The two attacked Hulk getting him angrier and bigger and then Naruto hit him in the face with an electric fist before grabbing on with both having electricity cover him. "HULK STRONG!"

Hulk pulled Carnage off before Cloak appeared and dropped Venom, Dagger, and Iron Fist. Dagger uses her light to burn the Carnage away. "Pot shits guys, try to keep them off you for as long as possible!" They fought their way to Oscorp. Naruto appeared and got MJ out and appeared by the others. "MJ, get on the screen and broadcast to anyone left on what to do!"

She nodded and ran off down the street. After a moment, Naruto saw Harry jump out in his Anti-Venom symbiote which is a reverse color from Venom with spikes on his head and shoulders. Anti-Venom then jumped at Agent Venom before Naruto kicked him back. The three heroes attacked before Iron Fist dropped down and punched Anti-Venom in the head before the others jumped over.

MJ came up on the billboards instructing people to get out safely as the heroes that Anti-Venom follow and take out Carnages on the way. They got to a symbiote-covered building and ran to the top. Getting to a nest, Anti-Venom dropped down and attacked the heart, absorbing it and destroying it.

Naruto saw Harry being shot out before jumping to catch him as everyone turned to normal though knocked out. "You alright?" Naruto asked as Harry nodded before seeing the symbiotes start to move and focus on one area. "Harry, you go see if there are any heroes awake while we go after it."

Harry nodded before the group split up. As they chased it, they saw that Midtown High School was still covered. Going in, they saw Stan trying to clean up the halls before he looked up. "Down that way."

They ran down as very small Carnage's tried to attack only to get swatted away by Naruto who started shooting his electric bullets. Getting to the Gym, they saw Dr. Morbius in there, now a regular vampire with wings on his back. "Where is she? I promised HYDRA a masterpiece!"

"No idea what you're talking about," Naruto replied before Morbius flew at him. Only to reel back as Naruto pulled his sword out to swipe at him. "Yeah you know I'll kill ya."

Hearing a noise he turned to see a woman in the red-and-black symbiote costume with four legs, yellow eyes, and a crown on her head.

Suddenly Harry in his armor flew in as Spider carnages came in. "MJ?" Naruto asked as Morbius laughed.

"The Carnage Queen."

She stretched her arm out to attack before Morbius dropped down and placed a device on her head. Only for Naruto to hit him with a Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere) sending him back through the walls and out to a building on the other side of the street. "MJ, come on you can fight this!" Naruto took off his mask, shocking Harry. "Come on, we gotta reach her!"

The others had their masks come off to talk to her. "You're stronger than this Mary Jane!"

"Fight it!"

MJ screamed as the symbiote started coming off before Naruto pulled her out as it exploded.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy.

MJ sat on a bed in pants and a white shirt. "So…"

"Yeah, all of us are in S.H.I.E.L.D. gotta get back to it."

"We should hang out more often." She smiled as Naruto nodded and left.

Missing the red symbiote swirl around her eyes before disappearing.

A Week Later.

Shinobi was running along the side of buildings as he chased after a runaway bus. Adding chakra to his legs, he jumped to dive towards the bus and landed on the side. Looking at the driver, he saw that he was knocked out before breaking the window with his right hand.

He slid in, pushed the driver out of the way, and hit the brakes while swerving out of the way of other vehicles. The bus stopped just before crashing into the traffic of a 4-way intersection.

"I have acquired a visual on the subject in Sector A. Speed is clocked at 90 miles per hour, now headed Northeast to Sector D." A man in a suit with sunglasses said over a flip cell phone as Naruto jumped away after the police showed up.

Naruto saw a man robbing a woman on a train going by before jumping on it and flipping through the window. The lights went out as Naruto threw a rope to wrap around the man, pulled the man towards him, and shocked him with his right hand.

"Subject's reflexes are off the charts, he's headed South." Another man in a suit said on his flip phone as Naruto jumped out of the train.

Naruto ran towards a construction site and saw a metal wall about to fall from a crane before landing on the bottom beam and had it swing over to an empty part of the acre before jumping off as it fell.

"Subject spotted, very formidable, my kind of challenge." A woman said as she looked at Naruto.

She has green eyes and black hair with green highlights with two strands on the side of her face pulled in a ponytail that came to her shoulders.

She's wearing a green skin-tight full body that's unzipped to reveal her cleavage with two pockets on each shoulder. She also has a katana strapped to her back and a dark green belt with two pouches on it with straps on her thighs, dark green gloves, and knee-high dark green combat boots.

Later That Night.

Shinobi was running over the roofs of buildings before stopping at a billboard.

Nelson & Murdock Attorneys At Law.

He heard sounds of a struggle before seeing two men fighting in an alley across the street. Jumping over, the men stopped fighting as Naruto got into the alley before a tractor-trailer blocked the entrance. The top of the trailer opened slightly and shot a chain-linked fence across the alley, trapping the three.

"It's a trap! Damn it!" Naruto cursed before a door slid up revealing Shikata.

"Shinobi, prepare to be defeated!"

Naruto raised an eyebrow before Shikata dashed to him, sword in hand. "I have no idea who you are, lady, but Attack Shinobi Day was last week. It was for charity." Naruto said before dodging Shikata's swipes.

He then jumped over a swipe and stuck to the wall having Shikata smile and kneel. "Hmm. Good."

"No, bad!"

Naruto dived forward as Shikata jumped, kicked at him and dodged it. Shikata quickly jumped off and followed Naruto before swiping at him again. Naruto leaned out of the way then grabbed her ankle, and slammed her down before applying an ankle lock.

"There a reason you're attacking me? Took your seat on the bus, took the last slice of pizza at a buffet?" Shikata stayed silent before smiling and twisting around to kick Naruto off and slice his chest. "Ow!" Naruto continued to dodge Shikata's swipes before flipping over her and then applying a sleeper hold on her. "Hell of a first date, I expected dinner before all of this."

"You're a noble fighter, but not my type."

"Aw, that hurts," Naruto said with fake hurt as the two men ran up.

"Shikata, cops!"

"Hold him steady, we'll bag 'im!"

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Naruto let Shikata go before dodging the bullets and saw Shikata slice off her man's finger.

"No one… Decides how to take down an opponent but me." Shikata said, wiping the blood off her blade as the truck moved revealing two policemen.

She then threw an octangular device with the Yin-Yang symbol on it on the ground and had the ally covered in smoke.

Dawn.

Shikata was meditating on a rooftop with her sword on her lap.

"Doing a little past life regression?"

She looked to her left and saw Shinobi sticking to an antenna beside her.

"I underestimated your tracking skills, Shinobi."

"I actually just saw you here from several blocks. Next time, do this on one of the roofs that are set up to have people on them." Naruto said as he crouched on the antenna.

"You mistake me for someone else. Someone who is afraid of dying."

"Really?"

"All that matters in this life is honor," Shikata said, standing up and sheathing her sword.

"I know someone who's perfect for you then. He has a burn on his left eye but I think you two would get along well. He also cares about honor." Naruto said before jumping down.

"Good adversaries are so hard to find in this city," Shikata said to Naruto as she walked forward.

"There's a guy in red who'd make one over in Hell's Kitchen. There's Cap... Oh, there's this short guy with claws that'd be perfect just outside of the city." Naruto said dropping down. "So give up now, or do I beat your ass first?"

"No fighting now," Shikata said, sheathing her sword and turning to walk away.

Naruto reached for her shoulder, and as soon as he grabbed her, Shikata turned and blew orange smoke in his face.

(COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!)

Naruto waved the smoke away and saw that Shikata was missing before walking away himself.

Later, Shikata.

Shikata was walking down the street before stopping and looked over her shoulder as a black van pulled up. She ran into an alleyway as two masked men walked out of the van that now blocked it. She backed into a shadowed part of the alley as the men picked up pistols. They shot at her several times, having Shikata deflect each one before a third man came out of the van and shot at her.

BANG!

Shikata couldn't turn in time and she was nicked in her left shoulder as the men surrounded her. Suddenly, Shinobi dropped down and quickly dashed at the man in the van and knocked him out.

BANG!

Shikata deflected the bullet to hit the last masked man as one shot several times and ran down another exit. Naruto gave chase but lost him once reaching the crowd on the sidewalk.

"Damn it!" Naruto said before going back to Shikata who used the moon's reflection of her blade to heal her wound and fix her suit. Naruto, not seeing that, walked up to Shikata. "Great party there."

"You continue to impress me with your character," Shikata said to the Avenger.

"Oh, now if only more women felt that way."

"Now, more than ever, I know it is our destiny to fight to fight to the death." She said, walking to another exit, turned to Naruto, and bowed.

"Yeah… Don't really believe in destiny." He said as Shikata went into the other ally.

Naruto ran over but saw it was a dead-end and Shikata was gone.

Later New York City.

Shikata was cutting car engines as she walked in the streets before Shinobi dropped down and looked at her.

"Prepare to kill, or be killed, Shinobi."

"Not really my thing," Naruto said as he walked to Shikata. "And wasn't it last night we made such a good-looking crime-fighting duo?"

"That is why I honor you with the chance to fight me."

"Anyway, can I talk you out of this? Ooh! I can use a sidekick. Or there's this other ninja lady you can work with, she uses sais."

She dashed at him and Naruto dodged several strikes before he was kicked. Naruto flipped and landed in a crouch before tackling her to the ground, flipped back to his feet, and then threw her at a lamppost. Shikata grabbed it and spun around to fly towards Naruto who grabbed her by a leg and arm and spun them around before letting go, having her hit a car.

Naruto jumped out and attacked with several punches before grabbing her sword after a strike and kicking her away. Naruto dashed to Shikata and tackled her as he held her sword to her neck before stabbing it by her head.

"Why are you-!"

"Is it honorable to kill off a worthy opponent? One that you can test your skills against, and sharpen them?" Naruto asked, pulling the assassin up and handing her her sword. "And like I said, killing isn't really my thing. People hear 'Ninja' and automatically think all I do is kill and steal things."

Naruto jumped over to M.J. and grabbed her before leaving as the police drove up. Shikata simply stood there and calmly bowed in Shinobi's direction, still holding her sword in her hands.
