Chapter 11: White Thunder: Part 2
Previously:
Zoey pulled her Star crystal out of her shirt to show everyone, "It's not about any kind of connection to the Magic Realm that made her choose you. It's your connection to me." She handed over the Wolf crystal to her friend, "Mystic Mother wanted you with me. She said that, though I was born in the Magic Realm, our destinies were twined together years ago. Apparently, we're stronger together. Kind of reiterating what she hinted at over the summer."
"Well, we could have told you that." Her brother smiled
Jenna took the crystal and studied it for a moment. Sighing, she slipped it over her head and stared at her friend, "Well, it's nice knowing I'll be there. I'll always have your back. No matter what."
"Always." Zoey held up another necklace, "Here. I had bought this for you to give to you on your birthday, but I'd like for you to have it now."
"Oh, wow." She smiled at the silver wolf in purple resin, "It's beautiful."
"Read the back."
She flipped it over to an unfamiliar symbol carved into it, "Is that the language of the Ancients that you study?"
"Yes it is." She held up another necklace with a gold kitsune in pink resin, "The symbols on the back are basically the Magic Realm's version of Yin and Yang."
"I love it, thanks."
"You're welcome." She turned toward her brother, "By the way, I have a message for you from the Mystic Mother."
"There's no telling what that woman has to say to me," he chuckled, "especially after everything that's happened."
"She said to, and I quote, 'Remind my former minion to remember his beginnings and that he should be patient. He, more than anyone, should understand the torment one goes through', end quote." She laughed when he looked confused, "That was my feeling too. I had no clue what she meant, but, knowing her, it will eventually reveal itself."
"Let's just hope, whatever it is, it's not life or death." He yawned, ready for bed, "I am so ready to be done with those. I'm getting too old to deal with it on the daily."
They all laughed, unaware of the danger that in wait for them.

Zoey had a blindfold over her eyes, listening to her surroundings. Sensing a shift, she dodged the blast sent at her from the left and leaped up into the tree. Uncovering her eyes, she looked down at Jenna with a smile, "Well done. I felt the chill on that one."
"Magic is more complicated than using my Dino Powers." The Ice Ninja said, sitting on a stump, "It's difficult separating the feelings needed to access one or another. I still can't believe I'm wielding magic at all."
Zoey jumped down and sat next to her, "Anyone can use magic, all they have to do is believe." Jenna chuckled, "Look, all this training that I've been doing has been in my dreams. I've had my mom there, every step of the way. Knowing that you're going to be right there with me, training and fighting, feels right. But now, I need to get you caught up to me. What little bit I know. And I can't train you in your dreams like my mom does me." She looked around the clearing at the Wind Ninja Academy, "I'm grateful to Sensei for letting us train here."
"Got that right." Cam said, coming into the clearing, "I'm sure you can make up excuses for regular training with your team in a town of Power Rangers, but it'd be harder to explain away stray magic that might hit an innocent bystander."
They laughed together for a moment, "I'm surprised it's taken you this long to learn magic anyways, Jenna. You two do everything together."
"Well, it was her destiny. Her birthright. Not mine."
"Yeah, I'm the only one that was passing out in the middle of the day." Zoey smirked, stretching, "But, now that we know she's going to be with me, I need to get her trained. Well, as trained as I can with the basics."
"What about danger in Reefside?" He asked, "I mean, should you be away?"
"We're on call. There's five Rangers who can handle it without us. We're to be called only in an absolutely danger emergency only. Tommy understands the importance of getting her trained. Once you unlock a witch's powers, you have to get the basics down, immediately. I didn't have to worry about it before because my powers weren't active outside of the Dreamscapes. But now, I have to retrain myself for this realm as much as getting her trained. You don't want out of control magic running loose. It's dangerous. Anyways." Zoey smirked at her friend, "Come on, Wolfie. Let's get to work. We have some classes to teach."
1-2-3-4-5
Zoey was overseeing a weapons class when a dizzy spell came over her, "Oh, crap." She shook her head and gestured to one of the senior students, "Watch the class. I need to go find Sensei Watanabe." When he nodded, she took off and found Jenna with their Sensei and Cam, "I think I'm fixing to get pulled again. I've got a senior student watching my class, but do you think I could use my old room?"
"Of course you may. Cameron will make sure you're not disturbed."
The Samurai smiled, looking at his friends, "Come on. I'll take you in. Jenna, you can use the main room for any work you need or you can teach another class."
"I actually have some homework that needs to be finished and, since we're on call, I don't want to be in the middle of a class and have to take off. Plus, I can keep an eye on Zoey in case something goes wrong." She caught her friend as she stumbled.
"Unless you want Cam to carry me the rest of the way, we need to hurry."
Cam took matters into his own hands and just lifted her himself, "There. Problem solved." The girls chuckled just as Zoey's head fell back, "Great timing, as always."
"That was always the problem during our fight with Lothor. There was plenty of times when we could have used her, but her mom had pulled her in for her lessons."

Jenna was working on her laptop in the new and improved Ninja Ops, focused on her paper, when a pair of hands wrapped around her eyes. Reacting on instinct, she pushed back her chair into the body behind her, grabbed their wrists and twisted them to the sides.
"Ow!" Her eyes widened in shock as she turned around to see her boyfriend, whose wrists she still held, kneeling on the floor.
"Hunter?" She let go and helped him up, "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"
"I guess I should have made some noise, but you're too much like Zoey. You have ears like a bat and could usually hear us before we're a foot behind you."
"I'm so distracted right now, I wasn't paying attention." She stepped back as he stood up and smiled at him, "Forgive me?"
"For you? Always." He stepped forward, took her face in his hands and gave her a kiss, "I've missed you. Why didn't you tell me you were going to be here? I would have taken the day off and been here when you arrived?"
"Like I said, I've been distracted. There's a lot to tell you." He took a chair and sat next to her, "Right now, I'm on Zoey watch."
"She get pulled in again?"
"Yeah, she did. But, that's not all." She sat back, "You remember me telling you that our gems were added to morphers to help out Tommy's team in Reefside?" He nodded, "Well, right now, we're dealing with an evil White Ranger." She gave him a pointed look.
He smiled sheepishly, "Well, it's not like it would be the first time that you've had to deal with that sort of thing. You dealt with it before, you can handle it."
"No.,Zoey handled it. I didn't get here until Choobo was using Zoey as a marionette."
"Oh, yeah." He shuddered, "There's no telling what would have happened if you hadn't gotten there when you did."
"No kidding. That freaking bow of hers was fully charged and ready to go." She smiled at the memory, "I would have hit you if she hadn't stopped me."
"Don't I know it. I did apologize for all of that, okay."
"I know. But, this situation is different. The White gem has been compromised. It's full of pure evil energy. Whoever has it is being controlled by it. I'm sure of it." She narrowed her eyes, "And he's extremely dangerous. Worse than you or Blake. Right now, we're on call in case of an emergency."
Her morpher beeped, making hi laugh, "Sounds like your emergency is calling."
She smiled at him as she lifted her wrist, "Go for Jenna."
"Hey, Jenna." Hayley's voice spoke, "Just wanted to give you a heads up. There's been two new Dino Eggs discovered. The team split up to go look for them. Unfortunately, the White Ranger has already discovered one of them and has been pouring his dark energy into it, trying to hatch it. Not sure how that's going to end, but we'll see."
The Jenna exchanged glances with Hunter and shrugged, "So, a normal Ranger situation." Hayley chuckled, "Do you need me there?"
"At the moment, no. But if it gets out of hand, maybe. I know that part of the deal with the school is for you to teach some classes there as well. So, focus on that for right now. We'll let you know if it gets out of hand."
"You've got it, Hayley."
"Wait. What do you mean, do you need 'me' there? Don't you mean us? Where's Zoey?"
"Zoey is laying down in her old room here. Sleeping."
"Don't tell me her mom pulled her in again."
"After the last few times, I'm not sure who pulled her. I'm in the newly rebuilt Ninja Ops, listening in case she needs me. Just call me if you need me there and I'll get Cam or Hunter to keep an eye on Zoey while I'm gone."
"You've got it."
Jenna lowered her wrist and looked at her boyfriend, "Nothing good ever comes from an evil Ranger getting a Zord."
"Is that what's in a Dino Egg?"
"Yeah. It's a concern. But, that's not all." She wrinkled her nose at him, trying to figure out how to tell him the most recent development, "On Zoey's last trip, she was given two necklaces and orders from the Mystic Mother."
"That's like the head magic person, right?"
"Yeah. Think of her as the Sensei of all magic." He nodded, smiling, "One necklace was in the shape of a star and represented Zoey's powers and connection to the Magic Realm." She paused, "The second was a silver wolf." He busted out laughing as he knew exactly who the second necklace belonged to, "Yuck it up, Bug Boy." She pulled the necklace out from under her shirt, "Apparently, I'm destined to follow her in her chase to be just like her brother." He just kept laughing as she shook her head, "It's not that funny, Hunter."
"You have no idea." He wiped his eyes, "Oh, man. Looks like Shane owes me $50."
"What? Why?"
"When Zoey started having those dreams and learned of her legacy and then had to start training in magic, some of us made a bet that you would follow her and would have to start learning magic as well."
"Oh, great. My own boyfriend bet against me."
"It had nothing to do with betting against you and everything to do with betting on your connection to Zoey. Come on, J," He grabbed her hand, "you two do everything together. I was sure that somehow, someway, that damn magical destiny of hers was going to drag you in as well. It was inevitable."
"Yeah, well," she gave him a kiss, "now Zoey is being tasked with teaching me the basics to make sure I'm ready to go with her when we get called to action again."
"So, you're both Rangers, again, currently battling another evil Ranger. You're now going to be part of Zoey's Mystic destiny and have to learn magic. Zoey has currently been pulled into the dream realm, again, and you are doing homework while keeping an ear out for her, while on emergency Ranger call." She nodded, "You're right. You had every reason to be distracted." She laughed as she shoved his shoulder, "How about you take a break from homework and eat. Cam's the one who called me and told me you were here, so I told him to just have everyone come in here to eat lunch. We can reminisce about our past battles."
"That sounds good. Their lessons are almost over. I can go in the kitchen and make some spaghetti, garlic bread and salad."
"That sounds awesome. Want some help?"
"In the kitchen?" She looked at him in horror, "We need the food to be edible, Hunter."
"Hey!" He followed her into the back as she laughed.
1-2-3-4-5
While Jenna watched over Zoey, the other Rangers, minus Tommy, had just defeated the monster, Angor.
"Let's check in with Tommy. See if he needs any help." Andy held up his morpher, waiting for the teacher to answer.
"Go ahead!" Tommy responded, out of breathe.
"We've got the situation under control here!" Andy asked, concerned, "How are things going there?"
"Sorry. Got a little sidetracked. I'm heading back to the White Ranger now." He said and ended the communication.
"I've got a bad feeling about this, guys." Andy shook his head, "Evil Rangers with Zords cause a lot of damage. I don't think Tommy is going to get there in time. It's going to be really bad." They stayed in their Zord, waiting. But not for too long. The warehouse that the White Ranger had been in collapsed, revealing a black and white Dino Zord.
"Whoa, what's that?" Ethan stared at the Zord.
"Give you one guess." Connor frowned.
"He must've hatched the Dino Zord egg," Kira realized. "I don't like the look of this."
"I told you." Andy sighed, resigned, "It almost looks like another Ptera."
"Hello again Rangers!" The White Ranger called out, landing on the new Zord's head. "Well? What do you think? If you're gonna wear the suit, you gotta have the Zord, right?" He laughed. "What? Don't look so shocked. Now, let's see what this bird can do. Dragozord, activate!"
"You guys ready for this?" Connor asked, looking at his teammates.
"Huh?"
"I guess so." Kira groaned.
"Like we have a choice." Andy braced himself, knowing that they were going to be in a world of pain, "But, if it gets too bad, we need to call the girls."
"Right."

Zoey ran through the dark corridors, panting. She paused, pressing herself into a rocky crevice, trying to make herself invisible.
"Down here!" A freaky bat-looking woman ran past with a horde of zombie-like monsters following, "She went this way."
When they were gone, Zoey sank down, putting her face in her knees, "What is going on here? Where am I? How did I get here?" She felt pure evil everywhere. She was surrounded by it, "Come on, Zoey. Focus. You've spent all of this time learning magic and the history of this realm. Calm down and don't panic." She stood back up, took a deep breath and peaked out into the corridor.
She stepped out and went to go back the direction she originally came before a hooded figure stepped out, all in white.
"This is no place for you." The figure lifted a very sharp and deadly silver sai and pointed it in Zoey's face, "Now, tell me why I shouldn't destroy you where you stand?"
