Chapter 22: Disappearing Act
Zoey was mediating in the lab, with Hayley and Tommy at the computers, when an alert from the monitors had her looking over at the screens, "Is that Elsa?" She got up and stood next to her brother, "What's she doing?"
Elsa was in a crater inspecting some green slime, "Should I call the others?" Hayley asked, typing on her keyboard.
"Wait," Tommy said, "let's see what she's up to." The Gothic Minion sucked some of that slime into a canister, "She's taking some kind of sample."
Hayley shook her head as Elsa left via an Invisiportal, "What was that stuff?"
"I don't know," he replied, "but if Elsa wants it, we better find out." The girls nodded, "I'm going to take my ATV out there and check it out.
"Not without me." Zoey declared, crossing her arms.
"Is it safe for you to morph? Because you're not going without that protection."
"She's good." Drina called, having been watching from the couch, "She's got her control back. I'd keep her out of Zord fights, for now, but she's good."
"And after the last time you went off on your own," she gestured to his suit, "I'm not taking any chances. Let's go." He just chuckled at her as she got off the steps.
"Ready!"
"DINO THUNDER! POWER UP!"
"Oh yeah!" She stretched, "Like I never left."

"You should be at the pool site now, guys." Hayley spoke on the communicators as the siblings rode in on their vehicles.
They walked over to the pool of bubbling green slim and squatted to examine it, "Man, that is nasty." Tommy shook his head at the ooze in disgust.
Just then, a group of Tyrannodrones showed up, knocking them to the ground, "Big surprise there." Tommy growled as the stood back up, "Okay. Ready?"
He looked at his sister with a smile, "So ready."
"Brachio Staff!"
"Flame Tail! Kiyah!"

Conner, Kira, Trent, Andy, Raina and Jenna trailed behind Ethan, who was walking ahead a bit talking to Cassidy.
"Uh, are we still on for the picnic?" Ethan wondered as they headed for the building.
"Yeah, totally." Cassidy smiled. "I thought we could start with a cheese appetizer, and then, for the main course, brook trout almondine."
"No," Ethan denied. "Let me handle everything. You're my guest. I don't want you to lift a finger."
"Oh, you're so sweet." Cassidy grinned. "And who says chivalry is dead?" She turned and left, heading over to where Devin was standing.
When she was gone, the others rush over and surrounded him on either side. Conner patted him on the shoulder. "What was I thinking?" He whined, looking like someone just kicked his puppy.
"First date jitters?" Kira wondered.
"I wouldn't know." He complained. "This is my first date ever."
"No way." Trent looked to him, not believing it.
"Dude," Andy stared, "you're a senior. How is that possible?"
"How many dates have you been on this year, Lightning Bug?" Jenna quirked a brow, "I mean, seriously."
"But I've been on dates in the past. He's never been. Not once."
"I think it's sweet." Raina grinned.
Ethan shook his head. "Twenty gig hard drive with a five hundred and twelve meg portable backup is sweet. This is pure torture."
"Dude, don't sweat," Conner assured. "We'll put you through dating boot camp. When you're finished, you'll be Cassidy and Casanova, the power couple of Reefside. Right guys?"
"Like we're going to miss this train wreck." Jenna scoffed, "No offense, Ethan, but you can do better than T-Rex over here."
"Speaking of Rex," Andy nudged the Red Ranger, "is that what you settled on for your Raptor's name?"
"No. Why is this so hard? All the others have been named except the three primaries." He gestured to Ethan and Kira, "Why can't we come up with good names for them?"
"You keep trying to come up with dinosaur names." Raina smiled, "Try putting your personality into it."
"Ooh. Good idea."

Back at the pit, Zoey was having a blast teaming up with her brother again, "Woo hoo!" She swung her whip out, wrapping it around a T-Drone and flung out against another, "Flash Fire!" She called on her Ninja Pink Flame and sent it down her whip, "9-Tail Slash!" The whip slit into nine strands pink fire before attacking the Tyrannodrones. "Take that you Dino rejects!"
"I built those, you know!" Tommy yelled, before jumping up and slashed his staff out at the Drone, "Show a little respect!"
"I have plenty of respect for your designs!" She replied as they got back on the vehicles, "None for their reprogramming!"
"I'll take that!" He revved his engine, "Now, let's clean up this mess!" He yelled, "Lasers! Fire!" They shot their blasts out, taking down the remaining Drones.
"That should do it." Zoey said as they parked, "You brought the canister?"
"Yep." He grabbed the container out of the back compartment of his ATV and filled it with the slime, "Now," he said, locking it up, "let's see what this goo is all about."
"As long as it doesn't mutate any turtles, I'm good."

"Ok class. The crocodile," Doctor Mercer began the class. "Now this amazing reptile has been around for millions of years without evolving," he told them as he set a football down on his desk. "It's a testament to the creature's near perfection. It was about a million years..." he stopped suddenly, and swayed, turning away. Everyone looked up from their notes and frowned.
"Dr. Mercer?" Jenna called from her table, "Are you okay?"
He cleared his throat, "Yes, thank you. As I was saying," he turned back around, "About a million years ago, the… uh…" he stopped again, "Excuse me for a moment, please." He staggered out of the classroom and Trent followed him.
Jenna frowned as she picked up her phone and sent a text to Zoey.

"Well, I guess slime really does pay." Tommy commented, standing at the computers with Zoey as Hayley studied the sample.
"This is crazy," Hayley looked up at him. "But it just might work."
"Lets hope." Zoey sighed as the other teens came running in.
"So what's the emergency?" Conner called, rushing over to them.
"Hey guys." Tommy turned to them. "Hayley thinks she can demorph me."
That received multiple responses as they started talking at the same time, "How?" Trent finished, as the room quieted down.
"With a little help from this slime," Hayley pointed to the jar. "It might work as a synthesizing agent that I think can help bring Tommy back to his normal self."
"We're not like, tempting Fate, are we?" Jenna whispered as Zoey joined her, Andy and Raina by the couch, "I mean, this is Tommy."
"Tell me about it." The Fire Ninja sighed, "If it's not one thing, it's another."
"How much worse can it be for him?" Andy asked, wincing as Raina punched him on the arm, "Right. Sorry."
"If you just jinxed him," Zoey warned, "I'm going to use you for target practice." She growled, "Ninja target practice."
He gulped, "I'll get the burn cream and aloe ready." Raina said, snickering.
They followed the others to the machine that Hayley built and watched Tommy stand in the center. Hayley took the jar of slime and put it in the appropriate slot in the machine. "Okay. I've input your molecular structure and DNA information. So now to add the slime. I hope this works."
"You're not the only one." Tommy sighed.
"Good luck Dr. O." Conner wished.
"Catch ya on the flipside." Tommy spoke, making Angel Grove teens smile before Hayley flipped the machine on. She stood back with the others as the green slime washed over Tommy, causing the suit to disappear. As did Tommy. The slime was still pouring over something… unseen.
"What's going on?" Conner asked, looking around.
"Hayley?" Zoey turned wide eyes to the red head, "Where's my brother?"
"He's gone." Kira realized. Not a minute later, a towel on the floor began floating upward. "Look, the towel!"
Conner tried calling out. "Dr. Oliver? Are you there?"
"Yeah, I'm here." Tommy replied. They solved one problem only to create another. "Hayley, any guesses on what's going on?"
"Looks like the slime made your Dino Power of invisibility kick into overdrive." She theorized, looking at the data on the screen.
"Great." He huffed. "I got my body back, but now no one can see it."
Andy ran over to hide behind Hayley as Zoey turned her glare on him, "This is probably just a coincidence."
"Tommy Oliver and the word 'Coincidence' do not go together." She huffed as she felt a hand on her shoulder, "He jinxed you."
"An invisible science teacher." Ethan couldn't help but laugh. "That is so totally graphic novel."
"Glad you find it funny, Ethan." Tommy spoke wryly. Ethan tried to contain his excitement as the others grinned a little. Raina just poked the Blue Ranger in the ribs to make him stop
"Is there anything you can do?" Kira asked Hayley as Tommy moved off, still holding the towel.
"This is a tough one. I have no idea how to counteract that agent." She admitted.
"Don't worry, Doctor Oliver. We'll figure it out," Trent told him with a smile.
"Uh, guys?" Zoey pointed to the other side of the room, "He's over here." They turned around to see the towel floating in front of the stairs.
"There's nothing you can do right now." Tommy explained, "Hayley and I will work on it." He sighed at the look his sister sent him, "Hayley, Zoey and I."
"Much better."
"I guess now is a good time to give Ethan his make-over." Connor smirked, and Ethan's eyes widened.
"But..." he groaned as Conner pushed him out, laughing. Kira and Trent followed.
"Make-over?" Zoey turned to the others, "Do we want to know?"
"It's not only his first date with Cassidy…" Andy explained, sneaking around the group, "It's his first date ever. We're helping him." Smiling big, he took off up the stairs, desperate to get away from the Pink Ranger.
"He doesn't actually think that's going to save him later, does it?" Raina tiled her head, "I mean, he lives with you."
"He can think it all he wants." Zoey smirked, "It's only delaying the inevitable."
They shared a laugh for a moment, "I better go with them. There's no telling what they plan on putting him through and I want video."
"Yes!" Jenna cheered, "I want a copy."
"I'll make multiple ones for everyone."

They sat in Hayley's Cyberspace, attempting to teach Ethan how to behave on his date. After Kira and Raina gave up on what he should wear, he moved onto dancing.
"This is so funny," Raina chuckled as she stood behind the bar with Andy, "I am so giving this to the Angels."
"I can't believe you're recording this instead of helping." Andy rolled his eyes, "You're the trained dancer."
"Yeah, well, you recorded the clothing situation," they shared a snicker, "hilarious by the way, and I am not going anywhere near that mess." They laughed harder as they watched Conner and Ethan doing a tango. The latter had a rose in his mouth.
After, they moved to some cushions, they watched Trent attempt to teach the Blue Ranger table manners with a picnic. Raina was still recording.
"Ok, hold it at the bottom." The White Ranger instructed as he held a bottle of Sparkling Cider and passed Ethan a glass. "Tip the glass, try not to hit the rim and twist." He poured the liquid into the glass, and Ethan nodded, before proceeding to slurp the entire thing. "What are you doing?" Trent sighed at him, and Ethan paused, his mouth full. He shrugged as the others tried to hide their laughter. "First," Trent then lightly tapped his glass against Ethan's. "Cheers."
"Well, I think our work here is done." Connor decided.
"Really?" Andy whispered, shaking his head.
"You think you're ready?" Kira asked Ethan, who frowned a little.
"Yeah," he nodded. "I'm feeling pretty good. I can do this." He said, sounding more like he was telling himself as he got to his feet. He walked over to the door, and immediately turned around, and sitting down. "I can't do this. I can't. Can't do it."
"Look, just be yourself, and she can't help but like you." Kira told the Blue Ranger.
"Alright. Be myself. Ethan." He got to his feet, and their morphers beeped.
"Oh, you lucked out." Connor told Ethan as they hurried out to see what the problem was.
"We'll check in with Doctor O." Trent pointed to Raina.

Morphed and riding through town on their bikes, Connor, Kira, Andy and Ethan rode up to where a new monster was attacking.
"I'm invincible!" He declared, before turning around as he heard them approach.
"Giant thorny thing. Looks about right," Connor nodded as they climbed off their bikes. "Hey, didn't your mother teach you to play nice with others?"
"I'll show you what she taught me!" Thornox roared at them. The four Rangers ran in but he swung a green light out and wrapped around the teens. When the lights faded, they were being restrained by vines.
"Oh man!" Ethan groaned.
"Alright, now what?" Kira asked as she struggled.
"How about a little fried greenery?" Andy concentrated and expelled lightning out of his hands, creating a chain of electricity to each of the other Rangers. Once complete, the vines turned to ash and fell from the four teens.
Thornox cried out as more lightning shot out at him in the chest.
"Tyranno Staff!" Connor swung his weapon, but Thornox grabbed it and hit Connor with it. The Red Ranger flew through the air, and landed on his back.
"Think I'll try out my swing!" The monster decided as the others ran over to him. "Don't try this at home!" He hunched over, giggling.
"What's he doing?" Andy asked, staring at the monster.
"Golf?" Ethan gulped.
"Look out!" Kira yelled, and when Thornox hit the ball, it split into four, and slammed into each of the Rangers.
"See you in the clubhouse!" He laughed, and disappeared.
"Oh man! I'm late for my date!" Ethan realized. "Wish me luck!"
"That's what he's worried about?" Andy stood up, as they watched Ethan run off, "Cassidy over monster. Understood." He sighed, "I'm not the only one who's getting some target practice."

Zoey and Jenna were coming back down the stairs when they heard Conner's voice, "My man! Making big points there."
"Aw! How cute is he?" Kira squealed.
"What are you doing?" Jenna asked as they walked over to the computers.
Andy shrugged, "We're spying on Ethan's date with Cassidy."
Zoey peeked at the screen, "How's it going?"
Trent nodded, "So far so good."
"Looks like I'm not the only excellent teacher around here." Tommy's voice called out as he lifted a tumbler and took a drink.
"Are you still morphed?" Raina poked in his direction, "I always wondered how a Ranger could drink through their helmet." She shrugged, "We didn't have to worry about that last year." Her eyes widened, "You were stuck in that suit for weeks. How did you eat… drink…" she gasped, "how did you go to bathroom?!"
"I didn't." The group looked confused, "The suit and the morpher kept me from needing to do anything. I just had trouble sleeping with this helmet on."
"The Morphing Grid regulates a Ranger's body so they won't have to do any of that stuff when they're fighting." Zoey explained, "Have you not noticed it on yourselves? You can fight for hours and not have to go to the bathroom or get stomach pains from hunger. It adjusts your body accordingly."
"To answer your question, no. I am no longer morphed. Just invisible. The first thing I had to do after everyone left, though, was take a shower. Then the hunger set in. Zoey fixed me a nice spread."
She shuddered, "It was really creepy seeing all that food disappear like that."
"This is a perfect day for a picnic." Cassidy said as they sat on the blanket, "Don't you just love being outside in the fresh air?"
"I guess it's okay." He shrugged, "I spend most of my time indoors gaming."
"Uh-oh." Andy moaned.
"Gaming?" The blonde asked.
"Playing games online? The other day I was playing this one, Battle Station Extreme, and I was up against all these other players and they had way more weapons than me…"
"No!" Conner yelled, "I specifically told him not to go into Geek Mode!"
They painfully watched Ethan trying to get Cassidy into his story, "Then I hacked into security and busted right through their force field."
"Wow!" Jenna stared, unsure of what to say, "Just… wow."
The scene got more awkward as the couple shared stuttering laughs, "But I bet you don't wanna hear about any of that stuff."
"No!" She exclaimed, "It's really… interesting." She smiled lamely, "Oh, speaking of games, I'm covering the big playoff on Sunday. Are you gonna be there?"
"I don't really like basketball."
"Football."
"Oh, right. Sorry." He paused for a moment and grabbed a cup, "Hey, how about some Sparkling Cider?" In his rush to give it to her, he spilled it on her blouse.
"I'm so sorry. Your sweater's ruined."
"No, it's okay. It's only cashmere."
"This is really awkward." Raina covered her eyes and peeked through her fingers, "But I can't look away."
Andy nodded, "It's like a train wreck that you can't take your eyes off of."
"He's having a complete meltdown." Connor groaned.
"This is so sad to watch." Trent sighed, having been leaning on the console beside Kira the entire time.
"Doctor O? Is there anything we can do to help him?" Kira asked. No response. They looked around and nothing, "Where'd he go?" Kira asked, looking at Zoey.
"Contrary to popular belief," Zoey scoffed as she sat in the chair next to Kira, "I don't keep my brother on a LoJak." She shrugged, "Hayley on the other hand, now that's a different story."
"This was a bad idea." Ethan complained.
"What?"
"This whole date thing. It's a total disaster."
"I wouldn't say disaster." Cassidy consoled, "More like a series of tragic accidents."
Just then, the candles seemingly lit themselves. "Hey!" Cassidy smiled, "How'd you do that?"
"They're um," He shrugged, "trick candles."
"Oh, cute."
Ethan noticed a bouquet of flowers floating behind Cassidy's back and landed beside the Blue Ranger. His eyes darted around for a moment before he picked them up, "Um, these are for you."
"Oh, they're so pretty." The blonde gushed as he handed them to her. "You really are full of surprises, Ethan."
"Sometime I surprise myself."
"I think Ethan might be getting a little help." Kira realized with a grin.
"You think?" Trent laughed.
"He's faster than I thought he was." Andy said, looking at Zoey, "How did he get out there so quickly?"
"Ninjetti Power, dude."
The CD player turned on and Cassidy smiled, "I love this song."
Still looking confused, Ethan turned back to his date, "Do you wanna dance?"
"Sure."
"Great."
Just as they Ethan and Cassidy began to dance, however, several Tyrannodrones appeared, surrounding the pair.
"You gotta be freaking kidding me." Jenna groaned as Ethan told Cassidy to run. When she left, Ethan morphed and started fighting off the monsters. Just as he went to block a Drone with his arm, the minion was blocked by an invisible force and pushed back.
"Whoa." Ethan stared, "That's crazy!" The Drone was then kicked off the cliff. Tommy then took out four more of the reptiles, "Dr. O? Is that you?"
"Thought you could use a little help!"
"In more ways than one."
"We gotta help him," Kira looked up at Connor, just as the alarm sounded. The video changed to Thornox as he appeared with the White Ranger Clone.
"We gotta take care of these guys first," Connor groaned.
"You four go there." Zoey stood up, "Jenna and I will help Ethan and Tommy. Raina? You okay to watch the monitors?"
"Sure." The girl nodded as Drina came down the stairs, "She can watch with me."
"Good. Let's go." Everyone lined up. "Ready.
"WHITE THUNDER, DINO POWER!"
"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP, HA!"
"DINO POWER!"

Zoey and Jenna landed at the picnic site just as more Drones appeared, "Ethan!" The girls pulled out their blasters and started shooting, "That thorn freak is back. Go help the others. You might want your Hover Bike." Zoey yelled as she called on her whip, "We'll take it from here."
"You got it!"
As he took off, Zoey turned in the direction of a flying Drone, "Even invisible, you can't stop yourself from helping people." She flipped over on minion and side-kicked another, "You're such a big romantic."
"Let's not go telling the guys that, please!" His voice called out, "I've got enough from this year that they're going to be ribbing me about. I don't need this added."
Jenna kicked the one he threw at her and it flew over the cliff, "Yeah, I know. Between getting another morpher, a new color, an evil White Ranger, getting fossilized, stuck in morph and now turned invisible…" The girls laughed, "You've had quite the year, sir."
"Yuck it up, you two." He grunted as the last of the Drones disappeared, "Just remember, this is year two for you and you're not done."
Their faces dropped, "That's not funny."
"I find it hilarious." He clapped their shoulders, "Let's get back to the lab."
The girl's grumbling just made him laugh… hard.

"Have no fear, Blue Ranger's here!" Ethan declared as he flew towards the battle on his Hovercraft Cycle. He flew through the air, and blasted Thornox again, flying past the plant monster.
Andy shook his head, "He's quoting Underdog now?"
"Sneaky!" Thornox cried out as he got to his feet. Ethan leapt off his bike and landed in front the growling monster as he got to his feet.
"Who wants to go?" Ethan challenged.
"Nice entrance." Kira told the Blue Ranger as they ran over to him.
"Let's take it to the next level!" Connor called. "Super Dino Mode!" They changed forms, ready to fight.
"You'll never get rid of this thorn in your side!" Thornox told them.
"We'll see about that!"
"You're about to have the pruning of your life!" Kira yelled, ready to take him down.
"We're through playing nice!" Ethan nodded.
Ethan and Kira took on Thornox; while Conner and Andy battled the White Clone. All four Rangers were holding their own as they overpowered their opponents.
"My turn!" Conner summoned his weapon, "Tyranno Staff!" He swung it around in a wide circle, "Energy Orb! Full Power!" A sphere of energy shot out, hitting the Clone, making his suit light up in sparks and sending him flying back with Thornox.
"Don't think this is over yet, Rangers." The Clone growled.
"Hardly." Kira mocked.
"Rangers don't stop, you carbon copy!" Andy shouted.
"He's right." Conner nodded, "I think this should do the trick."
"Z-Rex Blaster!"
"Ready?"
"Aim!"
"Fire!" The White Clone jumped out of the way right as the blast his Thornox, who screamed as he was blown up. The rest of the Tyrannodrones that Trent was still fighting disappeared, and Thornox re-animated.
"Talk about Miracle-Gro!" The monster laughed as he towered over them.
"More weed puns." Andy shook his head as he heard Zoey, Jenna and Raina laughing through their communicators, "I can see why the girls get so irritated."
"It's Zord time!" Connor called on their Zords, trying not to laugh at their Green Ranger. The Brachio appeared, carrying their Zords with him. Once released, the four smaller Zord their Megazord and barely had time to brace themselves as Thornox flipped through the air, kicking the Megazord back.
"Try to stop me now!" Thornox laughed. He spun around, hitting them with a tornado kick.
"Guys, we have to focus!" Connor told his friends.
"Right!" They nodded, only to be blasted again. They looked to the other side and noticed that the Clone had shown back up with his Zord. They were then blasted from both sides; falling backwards.
"Time to go Triassic!" Connor raised the shield, and the other three summoned their energy to power it, and call on the Mezadon Rover as Connor's suit changed. He moved over to the other Megazord, and the other three continued to pilot the Thundersaurus Megazord.
"That evened things up!" Ethan smiled as the two Zords stood side-by-side.
"Not for long!" The Clone growled, ready to attack.
"Let's finish this!" Andy called.
"Say goodnight." Conner said, after hitting the villains, "Wheel Spin Attack!" He activated his Megazord's powerful attack, blasting Thornox.
"Don't forget about us!" Andy yelled, "Tyanno Tail!" The other Megazord leapt through the air, and finished off Thornox in one strike.
The White Clone stood up, his Zord wobbling, "It'll take more than that to beat me." He warned just before disappearing in a series of lights.

The teens walked into the cafe and went over to Ethan, who was sitting in front of his laptop. "Dude, what are you doing here?" The Red Ranger asked, making Ethan look up. "Aren't you gonna finish your big date?"
"Oh, that." Ethan sighed. "Cassidy's great, but I found out that we really don't have that much in common."
"I coulda told you that." Kira and Raina smirked as they spoke together, "Jinx."
"I think we all could have," Andy grinned, "I know opposites attract and all, but dude, there was no way you two would have been able to have a relationship. She's just too much. Especially for you. Talk about High-Maintenance."
"He's right." Raina shrugged, "Dustin and I are opposites, but only to a certain extent. He's a lovable airhead who loves freestyle motocross and comic books. I don't mind getting down and dirty, especially when I fight, but I'm more level headed than he is. Shut up!" She glared at Andy, "No input needed."
"It's okay. I agree with you guys. Plus, I'm a Ranger. I gotta be ready to go whenever duty calls. I don't know how to tell her it's over..." Ethan sighed, looking up at his friends. "I think she really likes me."
"Better think of something quick," Trent warned, leaning close to him as Cassidy walked over. "I'm gonna go see if Hayley needs some help in the back."
"Oh, me too. Guys, there's some pretty big boxes, can you help?" Raina glanced to Connor and Kira as she grabbed Andy's arm and tugged, pulling her phone out to record the incident for later.
"Sure!" Kira nodded, shoving Connor along and to the back. The five of them stopped at the door to the back and peered around the sides to listen.
"Cassidy…"
"Ethan, before you go on, there's something I need to say." The blonde stopped him before he could continue, "I think you're a really nice guy and I like you but, I'm a reporter and my career has to come first." She explained, not noticing the other Rangers covering their mouths to keep from laughing.
Ethan chuckled, "But I was…"
"I'm sorry." She apologized, "I have to be able to go whenever duty calls. I just don't have time to get involved with anyone right now. I really hope you understand." Ethan twisted to the back and laughed over at his friends. Smoothing his face out, he turned back to the reporter.
"Yeah, I understand." He smiled at her, "But do you think you might have time to still be friends?"
"Friends?" She smiled back, "Yeah, that'd be great."

"There." Zoey stepped back from the Raptor pens and studied all the stalls. Each one had brand new name plates on the front, "This place has become a horse stall. Completely unintentional."
"Tell me about it." Jenna nodded, "We need to get their exercise pens finished. They can't stay cooped up in here."
"Next on the list." The Pink Ranger smiled, "We're also designing specialize fencing for the entirety of Tommy's property lines. All the way around."
Conner got excited, "Good. It'll give them more space to be able to run around. Dr. O showed me the trails and markers that he's going to have put in. It's going to be fun riding with them with the extra space."
"Now everyone has a Raptor and each Raptor has a name." Andy smiled, "Nice choices guys."
"Thanks."
"Not everyone has one yet." They looked around in confusion as Tommy's voice echoed out. He picked up a hammer so they knew where he was, "I've already started on it. Don't know when it'll be ready, but we need one more stall."
"Bro." Zoey chuckled, "There's eight Rangers and eight Raptors. Who's missing?"
"Raina."
"What?!" The group exclaimed as they stared in shock, "Me? But, I'm not a Dino Ranger. Why do I need a Raptor?"
"Well, a few reasons. You're a member of my household. You're one of the Four Strands of Rope." The ones from Angel Grove winced at the nickname the 12 had started calling them, "You've been helping us in the lab and have had no problems taking on the Tyrannodrones without a morpher. Not to mention the fight with the Terrorsaurus. I figured you earned one. Gem or no gem."
Andy hugged her from behind as the others clapped, "You can start thinking of a name for when it gets here."
"Also," Tommy halted their enthusiasm, "in addition to all the Raptor work," they watched the hammer went down and a water come up, freaking them out when the water started disappearing, "I have a graduation present for all of you."
They shared excited smiles in anticipation, "What is it, Dr. O?" Kira asked.
"Kim's husband does a lot of specialty building. Between houses, barns, woodwork and basic carpentry, he's created quit a business. One of his specialties are treehouses." They cheered, "I've talked to him and the others and we're going to build a treehouse for each of you on the property. That way you will always have somewhere to go when you come home from college. Each house will be specialized to you, but still be close enough for it to look like a village. And, like we do at the cabins, we'll have a series of stairs, bridges and ropes connecting everything."
Zoey walked over to the now floating towel, "How about we also build mini huts at the base of the houses for the Raptors to stay in when they're home? That way they can be near their people during their stay and inside their pens the rest of the time. We're gonna be the ones taking care of them when they leave, anyways, but when they're here, it's all them."
"That's good." He agreed, "I want you guys to figure out a schedule for the Raptors. Feeding and care for when you're gone. When you're here, it's all on you. No matter what school you end up going to, they're still your Raptors."
Ethan smiled, "Don't worry Dr. O. We'll take care of it. This is so exciting. Um," He looked around, "have we figured out a specific diet?"
"We've been giving them something of everything." Kira said, "They're part reptile and part robot. They're alive. They eat. Between dog food, dried meats and metal shavings," she shrugged, "it's been hit and miss. We'll figure it out."
"Good." Zoey smiled, "Now, time for some Ninja Target Practice."
Andy moaned, "Aw, man."
So I didn't write the names into the chapter, because I was having a hard time writing it to where it sounded good without being a big run-on sentence. But they will come up again in future stories. So tell me what you think. Honest opinions. They could change if I had good suggestions.
