Chapter 27: Thunder Storm: Part 2

"Are you nuts?!" Blake's yell echoed through the damaged street where the battle between the Dino Thunder and Ninja Storm Rangers had just taken place.
"I take back everything I ever said about you being smart." Hunter told Cam, equally as horrified by the Samurai's plan.
"Have a look at what they've done!" Cam exclaimed, gesturing around the damaged street. "We have to get to the Abyss, it's our only chance."
"You were there, right?" Andy continued, "You know what's inside that thing?"
"All of the monsters you guys defeated last year." Tia pointed out, "Is it safe? Who knows what else is lurking in the depths of that thing."
"We know what else is in there." Cam sighed, "Our powers. And we have to get them back if we're to have any chance of helping the Dino Rangers deal with Tori, Shane and Dustin." He said, and the others all sighed, knowing that he was right.
Raina looked at the two non-Rangers, "Ready to get your hands dirty?"
Bella chuckled, "Oh, I'm all over it."
"No way! No!" Blake exclaimed. "There's no possible way I'm going near that thing again!" The others all looked at him and raised their eyebrows.
"Alright, Thunder Boy." Zoey smirked, as the others backed away from her, "I'll make you a deal. You take me on. Right here. Right now. No powers. You win, you get to be a little chicken and hide, knowing full well that we'll never let you live it down. I win," she stepped closer to him, "you have to run our training course. All of them. And Jenna and I will be throwing our powers at you to dodge."
He hesitated as he looked at his fellow Ninjas and sighed, "Damn it."

"You suck." Blake told Zoey as they stood on the edge of the Abyss in climbing gear. The Fire Ninja, just shrugged, not caring. "I just wanna say one last time, I think this is a bad idea."
"Bella. Tia. Have you two ever done this sort of thing?" Cam asked the Fire Ninjas as they tightened their climbing gear.
"Mandatory training for all students at the Flame Academy." Bella smirked, "Relax, Samurai Boy. I'm a professional."
He shook his head as he looked at Zoey, "So, that attitude isn't just you?"
"Oh, no." She smiled, "It's all Fire Ninjas."
"Great." He shook his head, "Should've called Michiru."
"Who?"
"Nothing." His eyes got wide as he realized his slip, "We gotta go." He looked at the group and avoided the questions in their eyes. "We need to stick together. If we slip up, we're through."
Zoey squinted her eyes at him, as she promised to grill him about it later, "You know what your morpher looks like. Grab them and go. Bella and Tia, I want you two on look out."
"You got it."
They eased over the edge and lowered themselves down into the smokey trench. It didn't take long for them to reach a big enough ledge that they could all fit on. They unclipped themselves from their gear and looked around.
"Man, it stinks down here!" Blake groaned, waving a hand in front of his face in hopes of dispelling the stench.
"Let's find our powers and get out of here," Cam frowned.
"Over there!" Hunter spotted one first.
"The Samurai Amulet!" Cam's gaze zeroed in on the gift his mother gave him.
"I can't believe there's no-one guarding it..." Hunter frowned, looking around the suspiciously empty chamber. In a flash of purple light, Zurgane suddenly appeared, along with a mass of Kelzacks and a few monsters.
Blake cut his eyes at his brother, "You had to say, didn't you?"
"Did he just jinx us?" Bella asked, curious, "Is that normal?"
"For Rangers," Zoey punched Hunter in the arm, "yes."
"Welcome to my home, Power Rangers!" Zurgane greeted them, drawing his swords. "Attack!" He roared. The group leapt down to meet the monsters, and Zurgane growled as he spotted Zoey. "You're mine, Pink Ranger!" He jumped at her, and flew back into a wall as she shot an energy blast at him.
"You forget who you're dealing with Zurgane." She looked over and nodded to her fellow Dinos, "Ready?"
"Ready! DINO THUNDER! POWER UP! HA!"
They morphed and called on their weapons, "Cam! Get your Amulet!"
She used her her whip to cut through a group of Kelzacks who had converged on the Samurai. She pushed back Zurgane as Bella tossed a Kelzack into him. "Nice work, Sparkler." Zoey nodded at her with a grin.
"I hate that name!" Bella complained as she set another Kelzack on fire, "I still haven't figured out who started it."
"That was Jules!" Tia yelled as kick a Kelzack into the pit.
"She's dead!"
"Stop!" Zurgane blasted the ground and the entire Abyss began to quake, knocking them all to the ground. Blake screamed as he stumbled and fell over the edge.
"Blake!" Zoey dove over and threw her whip out, wrapping it around his body. He grabbed the excess and struggled to hang on.
"No!" Hunter and Jenna managed to catch her ankles as she started to slide down. They used their shoulders to brace her legs on as grabbed onto the ledge to keep from falling into the pit.
"Now it's your turn to feel what it's like to live at the bottom of the Abyss!" Zurgane laughed, and he, along with the others left the fight, "Goodbye Rangers!" When they disappeared, the Abyss started to shake even more. The others rushed over to help pull them up.
"I can't believe I'm gonna miss my race tomorrow!" Blake whined.
"Did you seriously just say that?" Hunter asked his brother in disbelief, attempting to hold onto Zoey.
"I can't hold on!" Cam yelled. The others, who were still working their way over paused as another hand suddenly reached down and helped him. They looked up in shock, "Dad!" Cam stared at his father, happy he was okay.
"Hello." He turned to the other four, "Get the morphers. We've got this."
They nodded and took off for the devices as the shaking got worse.
Cam and Sensei were able to get enough leverage to pull Jenna and Hunter back to their feet, who pulled Zoey over the ledge as she tugged her whip and brought Blake back to safety. "Good?" He nodded, "Great. Let's get the morphers and get the hell out of here."
"I think we've got them all." Raina said as the others walked over, "Here's your Amulet Cam."
"Thanks."
"Here's the Fire and Ice morphers." Bella smiled as she handed them to Zoey and Jenna, "Tell me you didn't go around advertising those on your wrists?"
"The four of us didn't." Andy laughed as hey gave the Thunder Ninjas their morphers, "The others didn't care."
Tia held up her hand, "Here's the discs."
"Thanks." Jenna nodded, "Now what?"
"Now we get out of here and figure out how to get those to the Wind Rangers." Zoey said, demorphing. "I'm getting Underworld vibes down here and I really don't like it." She grumbled as she Ninja Streaked out.
"Underworld?" Tia asked
"We'll explain later." Jenna looked around, "Ready?" They followed Zoey out and got a fair distance away from the Abyss. "You good?" She asked, looking at her best friend in concern.
"I will be once we save our friends."
Hunter nodded, "Then let's go."

While Zoey sent Bella, Tia and Sensei to the lab to explain what had happened, the rest of the group hurried to where Shane, Tori and Dustin were fighting Conner, Ethan and Kira.
"This is boring!" Tori declared as the two teams faced each other.
"Shall we?" Shane asked with a small smirk.
"Oh yeah!" Dustin nodded eagerly.
"No, wait!" Blake yelled out, earning their attention. The group jumped over the fence, and walked over to the two confused teams.
"Wait a minute, Blake?" Kira frowned at the Thunder Ninja. "That's how I know you, you're a Power Ranger!" She realized, remembering the video.
"Good, cause we can use all the help we can get." Ethan looked relieved, exhausted from fighting Dustin.
"Yeah." Conner nodded, relieved.
Blake smirked, "We're not here to help you guys out. We stick with our own kind."
"What? Zoey? Raina? Andy? Jenna?!" Conner stared at their teammates in shock.
"What can we say? Lothor helped show us the error of our ways." Zoey smirked as the seven newbies stood in front of the evil Rangers.
"Whoever doesn't follow us, we'll destroy." Cam told the three teens.
"This is gonna be great!" Dustin cheered.
"Wait!" Cam stopped him before he could morph. "First, you have to take these." He held out three Power Disks. "A little power boost, direct from the Abyss of Evil."
"But we already have our powers." Tori growled at the Samurai.
"Not these ones." Hunter told her.
Shane looked at it for a second, before frowning at Cam. "You better be right about this." He warned him coldly.
"Believe me, you won't be sorry." Cam promised. The three took their disks, and replaced the ones in their morphers. The others watched silently as they activated them. Red, blue and yellow lights shot out, and they fell to the ground.
"Dude, what happened? My bell is seriously rung!" Dustin groaned as they were helped back to their feet.
"How did we get here?" Tori frowned at Blake. "The last thing I remember..."
"Lothor, he's back." Blake told them.
"Yeah, we know." Shane nodded, trying to think through his headache. "Sensei told us." He said to them, but they shook their heads.
"That wasn't Sensei." Hunter said.
"No dude, I know Sensei when I see him." Dustin shook his head.
"No, it's Lothor." Blake insisted.
"Oh, unless it was Lothor dressed as Sensei!" Dustin realized.
"Isn't he adorable." Raina cooed as she hugged her boyfriend, happy to see him back to his usual self.
Zoey laughed, "Cute as a button." She looked at Dustin, "Twins, remember?"
"Oh, right." He nodded as the other Dino Rangers approached.
"Ok, this is all highly amusing," Conner told them, frowning in utter confusion. "but does someone wanna tell us what's going on?" He asked, looking at the Ninjas.

"We were just about to fall inside, but dad got there just in time. The other four grabbed our morphers and we streaked out of there." Cam finished explaining what had happened in the Abyss of Evil.
"So we faked being on Lothor's side to get you to take the right Ninja disks." Hunter spoke up. The two teams sat in the lab.
"It's a good thing you guys showed up when you did." Conner grinned.
"Good thing for you guys." Shane smirked, making them laugh.
Conner rolled his eyes, "Whatever dude."
"Nah, I'm just playing man." Shane laughed, clapping the Red Ranger on the shoulder. "You guys fight like rock stars." He told them, and the three who had been fighting against them grinned.
"I for one will take that as a compliment." Kira smiled at them from beside Trent.
"I'm just glad Andy wasn't with you." Ethan looked at their Green Ranger, "With that lightning of his, he's pretty dangerous."
"It's not my lightning you need to worry about." Andy chuckled as he smirked over at his partner in crime, "Right?"
Raina laughed as she lounged against Dustin, "I don't know. I think I'm tame compared to Fire and Ice over there. Can you imagine them evil?"
The Rangers shuddered at the thought of the Pink and Purple Rangers turning on them, "With their powers the way they are," Trent chuckled, "and learning magic, I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did fighting you guys."
"Zoey was in no shape to take you on, Drago Boy." Jenna smirked, "And I held back because we knew we needed to save you, not destroy you."
"All the same," he nodded to her, "thank you for not sending me back to Mesogog in pieces. Really appreciated."
"No problem." Zoey comment, leaning her head back to stare at him, "You still owe me a sparring session, though."
"She's got a tally book of people who owe her sparring sessions." Raina stretched, "Really glad I'm not on it. Andy and Blake are, though."
"Don't remind me." The boys chorus, causing the room to laugh.
"We're all glad that you're here, but now it's time for business." Tommy interrupted, looking at Sensei Watanabe, who stood up, nodding.
"Tommy is right." He agreed. "We have a serious problem on our hands."
"And it's gonna take all of us to defeat him." Tommy finished, nodding.

It wasn't long before the alarm began to beep, and the computer screen brought up footage of different monsters waiting at the quarry.
"We've got company." Hayley announced, and they all gathered around the computer quickly.
"It's time," Tommy nodded to the rest of the group. "Let's show 'em what teamwork is really all about." He said, and they nodded, running out and leaving Hayley, Sensei, Tia and Bella to watch from the computers.
Running towards the quarry, the two teams looked down to see Kelzacks, Tyrannodrones, Triptoids and an assortment of monsters waiting for them.
"It is time!" Zurgane declared when they noticed them.
"Let's be careful, but let's get it done." Tommy told them.
"Are you guys ready?" Conner called loudly.
"Ready!"
"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP!"
"WHITE RANGER, DINO POWER!"
"NINJA STORM, RANGER FORM!"
"LIGHTNING STORM, RANGER FORM!"
"THUNDER STORM, RANGER FORM!"
"SAMURAI STORM, RANGER FORM!"
"HA!"
"Tyranno!"
"Tricera!"
"Ptera!"
"Spino!"
"Brachio!"
"Drago!"
"Wolf!"
"Fox!"
"DINO THUNDER!"
"Power of Air!"

The two teams of morphed Rangers leapt down off the cliff, standing together.
"RANGER POWER!"
"Attack!" With a loud snarl, Elsa pointed her sword at the Rangers, and led the charge against them. Jumping on their bikes, Shane, Tori, Dustin and Raina, along with Conner, Kira, Ethan and Andy, sped towards the monsters. They flew through the air, blasting any in their way, and with perfect aim, they shot down the Kelzacks, Tyrannodrones and Triptoids that were running around.
Conner and Shane rode together, blasting a couple of monsters.
Kira and Tori veered past, avoiding the shots sent out by Elsa.
Ethan and Dustin tagged teamed, taking out a couple more monsters.
Andy and Raina shot over some trenches, frying the Kelzacks and Triptoids that they flew over.
Zoey and Jenna rode beside Trent, with Cam on the the back of the White Ranger's ATV, taking out the henchmen in their path.
Tommy blasted Zurgane on his ATV and joined the Thunder Rangers in fighting the faceless General with their weapons.
After getting off their vehicles, the Dino Rangers went into Super Dino Mode to help out in their fighting. Jenna and Zoey, the only ones without that ability, joined the Thunders in their fight against Zurgane and his newly arrived Kelzacks.
"I hate this!" Zoey yelled, using her Thundermax blade in her anger, "We took care of these freaks already!"
"Tell me about it!" Jenna agreed, cutting away with her Claws, "Remember when Cam got his morpher?"
"And those monsters were un-blowing up?" Zoey huffed as she called on her whip, "I was so pissed! You don't do that!"
"You two still complaining about that?" Hunter asked he and Blake joined him, "It's in the past. Move on!"
"We're trying, man." She looked back, "What happened to the faceless General?"
"Your brother took over and sent us over here." They turned back to see Tommy holding up his staff.
"Brachio Staff! Energy orb!" He summoned the round energy, and threw it at Zurgane, destroying him, once and for all.
"Where was that power last year?" Blake asked, staring in awe.
"Not activated." Jenna laughed as they got back to the fight.
Nearby, Andy and Raina had joined the Samurai and Drago Rangers. Cam called on his Super Samurai mode, while Trent and Andy went into Super Dino Mode, and Raina called on her crossbow.
"Hey, Jenna!" She laughed, looking over at her Purple friend, "This is for you!" The wolf Ranger looked in shock at the return of the Wolfblades.
"Take those posers down!"
"Oh, I am all over this!" Cam, Trent and Andy raced forwards to attack and Raina shot out blast from her Shocker Bow, finishing the canine imposters. Before long, Ethan had wiped out the last of the foot soldiers with his Hover Cycle, and Conner and Shane had called on their Battilizers, finishing off the two monsters that Lothor had brought with him from the Abyss.
When the last of the monsters and minions had been defeated, and Elsa had escaped, the Rangers all regrouped.
"Nice moves you guys." Conner told the Ninja Rangers as they all stood together.
"Back at you, bro!" Shane grinned, slapping Conner's hand in a high-five. An an Invisiportal appeared above them and, looking over, they saw Marah and Kapri fall out of it. They groaned, getting to their feet, before they saw the Rangers.
"Oh, guys!" Marah smiled as they ran over.
"Hey Cam!" Kapri greeted.
Raina clenched her fist, really wanting to punch the bug-head. Zoey put a hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her. "Down girl."
"But it would be so satisfying."
"I know, honey."
"What are you doing here?" Cam asked as he walked towards them.
"Is that any way to greet family?" Kapri rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, especially when we brought you a present!" Marah complained. She held up a bottle, and uncorked it. Purple smoke flew from it, and settled nearby.
"It's our students." Shane laughed as captured Ninja students from the Wind Ninja Academy appeared. The two girls then yanked off their evil Space Ninja clothes to reveal their Ninja gear.
"Anybody figure out what type of Ninja they are?" Jenna asked, looking at Zoey.
"No clue." She shrugged, "Maybe they're like Cam and don't have an element."
"Samurais?" Andy chuckled as Raina was still vibrating, "Interesting. Raina, how about we go to the Wind Academy this weekend? See if Sensei will let you put his nieces through a few sparring sessions."
"Yes!"
Jenna and Zoey exchanged looks of excitement, "We are so there."

"I'm afraid it's dead," Hayley held the Samurai Amulet in her hands as they gathered around the lab. "Lothor's extraction left just enough energy for one final battle." She told them sadly.
"Yeah, well, I guess it's a good thing we got you guys." Shane sighed sadly, looking to the others.
"I'd love to see your Ninja blades attempt to cut through a Tyrannodrone." Zoey smirked as she leaned on his shoulder, "No offense to Cam and his genius, but the tensile wouldn't hold up to their machinery."
Andy laughed, "That's saying something, man. Those machines put us through some major workouts."
"Well, Tommy did design and build them."
"They were reprogrammed!" Her brother glared, "They're not supposed to be used this way and you know it."
She smirked, "Yeah, I know. I'm just preparing you for all the ribbing you're going to be getting by all of your buddies."
Jenna chuckled, "You've gotta toughen up, man. They're never going to let you live this last year down. It's going to go on for years."
He groaned, "Great."
"Anyway," Conner laughed as he responded to the Air Ninja, "you've done your part. It's our turn to take over where you left off."
Zoey cut her eyes over to the Blue Ranger who kept sneaking glances at Bella. She nudged Jenna and nodded over there… both girls smirking.
"There's just one thing I don't understand,. Dustin spoke up, holding Raina's hand.
"Just one?" Andy chuckled.
"What's that Dustin?" Tommy asked.
"Who rescued Sensei?" The Earth Ninja asked.
"Oh, hello. I think we can answer that for you." Marah and Kapri bounced over to the pair. They explained how when Lothor had taken a nap, they had dragged Sensei out of his lair. Everyone burst out laughing.
"What? Do you have any idea how heavy he is?" Marah exclaimed loudly.
"Yeah! Hey, Sensei, you should really cut down on the cookies with your afternoon tea!" Kapri told him.
"I will keep that in mind, now that I am returning to my normal life." Sensei replied, smiling at his nieces.
"I'm all about getting back to normal," Ethan grinned.
"Yeah, but not till we get down and dirty!" Blake told the Blue Ranger, and everyone cheered in excitement at getting to see his race.

The next morning finally arrived, and everyone met up at the track. They all passed Blake and Tori as the couple sat on the tailgate of a blue truck, calling out good luck to the racer.
"Hey, Bella." Zoey said, pulling her, Jenna and Tia to the side, "You still play Detonation Man, right?"
"Are you kidding." She flipped her braids, "I'm the Queen."
Tia chuckled, "She's addicted to video games. Her computer skills are only getting better." She smirked, "She got in trouble for hacking into the Academy's system."
"I didn't do anything to it." She defended, "I only wanted to see if I could."
Zoey smothered a laugh as she looked at the gathered group, "Hey, Ethan!"
Their Blue Ranger jogged over, curious, "What's up?"
"So, not to poke at a sore spot, but Bella here holds the highest Demolition Man score in Angel Grove."
"Really?" He looked impressed, "That's awesome."
"What sore spot?" Bella inquired, smiling at the boy.
"Oh, um, we held our Demolition Man tournament last week." He sighed, "I was the reigning champ and got cocky."
"Ouch. Didn't practice?"
"Nope. And I got creamed in the final."
"That sucks. How are you at SNSW?"
He goggled at her, "Okay, you just became the coolest girl ever."
"I'll take that as a compliment."
"Tia." They looked over to see Shane come over, "You up for a rematch later?"
She smirked, "Same stakes as last time?"
"Of course."
"I'm there." He grabbed her hand and pulled her away, missing the looks all their friends had sent them.
"Did we miss something?" Hunter asked, wrapping his arms around Jenna.
"You didn't know they started seeing each other?" His girlfriend asked, looking around at their confused friends, "Seriously? It started right after Ranger Week."
"Shane saw all the grief we gave all the other couples in our group," Andy laughed, "and decided to keep it to himself for as long as possible."
"Oh," Dustin jumped up in excitement, "that's why he's been so grouchy. He hasn't gotten much free time lately and he's been missing her." He pointed at Hunter, "After all the grief he gave us leading up to Ranger Week and now we have our leverage. Payback time, baby!"
"Oh, yeah."
The group laughed again as they gathered at the rails. Blake had gone down for his race and Tori had rejoined them.
"Just don't overdo it." Zoey pointed to the two boys, "Your girls might hurt you."
Bella chuckled, "If Tia didn't get to them first. She is, after all, a very Fiery Latina. And she owns it."
Their attention switched to Blake as the race began. They cheered on the Thunder Ninja, who tore around the track, easily passing his opponents and passing the finish line. Cheering loudly, the two teams hoisted him into the air as he held a large trophy over his head.
