Toa Solaric: Welcome back to another one-shot for my realm of dreams. This is another non-KR and like my previous idea for FGO with Ritsuka as Demi-Servant Charlemagne. I don't own Fate/Zero or the Fate franchise.
Fate/Zero: My Berserker Is My Wife!
The first time Kariya Matou saw her after the strange tendril of darkness have faded away as he can't help being feeling a sense of awe.
Standing in the middle of the summoning circle was a being, unlike anyone he laid eyes upon. She was a few inches shorter than him with long paler blonde hair that was tied in a black bow, icy blue eyes, wearing a black and white dress that exposes a small part of her abdomen. Her weapon was a large black staff with blue runes.
"So you have summoned me… Berserker Morgan. I'm the queen of the Fae Nation Britain and the one who continues cursing Pan-Human History. If you don't have a problem with that, I'll lend you my power as a Servant. It's an unchangeable fact that I'm a queen. I expect you to work as my retainer." His new Servant said. "Or perhaps do you want me to treat you as my husband?"
For a moment, Kariya was completely confused with his Servant's words. "H-Huh!? Husband!? Me!?" Not to mention the name Morgan seems familiar to him.
A tap of a cane made a demand for attention. "Finally you prove yourself useful, Kariya!" Zouken Matou spoke with greed in his voice. "Win this war for me, and I shall fulfill my end of the bargain!"
This snaps Kariya out as he clenched his teeth, not even done with the summoning and he was already being ordered around. Morgan stared suspiciously at the old mage until her attention wandered around the darkroom she had been summoned in.
Her icy blue eyes stopped at the sight of the worm pool. In it was a small girl trapped in it.
Both men were surprised when she teleport straight to the girl in the instant and get a close look at her.
It wasn't long until the room suddenly become colder and darker than anyone anticipated.
"My Husband, what is the meaning of this?" Morgan asked in a cold tone that could kill anyone in sight.
"That is not of your concerns, Servant!" Even though Zouken Matou held himself strong, but there is a strange sense of fear coursing through his body.
Something about this Servant made him feeling more hesitant.
"She is my reason for fighting!" Kariya answered quickly. Even though she is his Servant, he knows better than deal with a woman's fury. "I… We will fight for her freedom!"
Morgan stares at him before focused her sights on the child. "So she is your reason for fighting?" she scoffed. "What is the purpose behind this torture?" she bluntly asked.
The head of Matou impatiently answered. "I wouldn't expect you to understand the meaning behind her training, Servant. She has taken the honor of inheriting my clan's legacy!"
"Is that so?" Something about her tone made Zouken step back in fear. "Do you want to know how I treated your kind, worm?"
Suddenly black and blue aura emanated from her, prana so dense and heavy that it weighed down on them immediately filled the room.
Soon every worms that presence exploded as they exploded on the presence. The Servant turned and magically lift the girl with her staff. She soon chanted something in languages that were beyond the comprehension of their ears.
"Wait, what are you doing!?" The ancient head of Matou called out alarmed. Kariya stayed where he was and stared shocked at his Servant's actions.
Cold dark light shined through the entire room with Morgan focused on the girl. Sakura was briefly aware of what was going on before the pain she was have vanished and replaced with comfort. Comfort that the little girl once aches to have.
"STOP IT!" Zouken's demands fell on deaf ears.
It wasn't long until all of the worms in the girl's body vanished and her wounds starting to heal immediately.
The light died down, revealing Morgan carried the naked child in her arms calmly as the parasites were already wiped out completely.
Kariya could barely understand what was going on. Had his Servant… freed Sakura?
"What have you done!?" Zouken cried out in rage.
The ancient magus leaps toward her as swarms of angry insects without any hesitation.
"Be gone…" Morgan said before snaps her fingers.
Suddenly red energy comes out of Zouken's body was sucks into Morgan's body as the ancient magus decay into complete ashes. Leaving no trace of him, no worm, no single parasite that would bring him back.
Zouken Matou was dead for good.
Is this for real? Kariya thought with shock at the fact that Morgan saved Sakura but also killed Zouken. The same Zouken who he thought was impossible to kill.
Little did he knows; summoning Morgan is the start of changing his and Sakura's life forever.
It wasn't long after they left Kariya's apartment and finding their temporary home in Ryuudou Temple.
"No way…" Kariya uttered in disbelief as he looks back at the mirror which shows his old appearance with his left eye healed completely.
"You do look better with your eye healed, my husband," Morgan said, standing beside him in front of the mirror.
"Even if it is true, I won't last long," Kariya admits sadly.
"Don't say something foolish like that, my husband," Morgan said, giving him all her attention. "I will obtain the Grail, with the reserve within. I'm going to make sure that you lived your life fullest. I can't have my husband died in one month."
"Morgan? Why do you still treat me as your husband?" Kariya scarcely believed how kind Morgan was to him. "There… are others who could be better than me!"
"Isn't it obvious? You're the one who called upon me and that means the only voice I listened to. I won't have anyone else but you." Morgan answered in a calm tone, but there was some softness Kariya could hear in her tone. "Once we win this war, let's live away from this city. Somewhere I could build a castle and we lived there together. Find a good date and I'll show you an amazing castle."
"Morgan, I…" Kariya couldn't remember the last time anyone had shown kindness to him. The Matou household was a nightmarish place, and the memories he shared about Aoi felt so distant… to have someone honestly wanting happiness for his heart hurt and soar in joy all the same. "I… T-Thank you!"
During the first official night in the Holy Grail War, Morgan went out to the dock where the first clash of the war began while Kariya was watching events through the connection he shared with her.
The Lancer-Class Servant was a remarkably handsome young man with quirkily long hair combed backward in a rough fashion that has a strand hanging down his face. He wears a dark teal outfit while wielding crimson and gold spears in both of his hands. Although he is charming to attract any opposed genders, Morgan can detect it was due to the mole on his face.
The Rider-Class Servant was a very large man with redhaired dressed in bronze armor with a red mantle. He is riding in a chariot that was pulled by two bulls.
"I-It can't be…" A female voice said as Morgan turned to faces the third Servant present.
The Saber-Class Servant was a short and petite woman who shared facial resembles that of Morgan with blonde hair and emerald, green eyes. She dressed in blue armor like a dress and holding what looks like an invisible sword.
"This isn't a surprise with this many gathering here, especially you… Artoria," Morgan muttered, especially in anger at the last part.
"So the fabled King Arthur is a girl after all…" Kariya deadpanned mentally. He hears from his Servant about this and still can't believe it.
"What a malicious aura…" Rider muttered as he stroked his beard, "Are you a Caster?" he asked.
"Oh? How about you figure it out yourself?" Morgan remarked.
"My Lady, are you perhaps interested in joining my conquest as we march through this glorious battlefield for the Holy Grail?" Rider offered with his trademark smile, but the Berserker was less than impressed with his offer if the silence was anything to go by.
She then turned her attention to the Archer, who was perched atop of a streetlight. He was taller than her with white skin, red eyes, and spike blonde hair, but the most noticeable thing about him was the golden armor that he wore and that protected his entire body. The two stare at each other for moments as they're tried to intimidate each other.
"Mongrel…" Archer muttered with contempt as he felt his annoyance grow. "You dared to pose yourself as a ruler in my presence? Know your place!"
Two portals opened behind him and shot out a pair of swords, rocketing towards the fairy queen at the speed of a bullet. They were about to get close to her before exploded in the process to everyone's surprised.
"W-what just happened?!" Rider's master exclaimed with fear at the sudden attack.
"Good God… is she a Caster!?" Lancer muttered with disbelief.
"No, she won't go down that easier." Saber said with a wary tone. "She is always that good and avoided countless assassin attempts in her life and mastered many arts."
"It sounds like you're acquainted with her, Saber." Rider said.
The white-haired woman standing beside her looks disbelief as if Saber knows whoever is in front of them well enough.
Emerged out of the explosion was Morgan who doesn't have damaged upon her and still stares directly at Archer.
Archer, however, looked unimpressed with the display and instead appeared to get angrier. "You filthy bitch… destroying my treasures is a sin punishable by death! When I'm through with you, there won't be a single shred of bone left upon this earth!"
Sweeping his arms out, numerous golden portals appeared once again with the blades of numerous exquisite weapons poking out. They were all aimed at the fairy queen, who still looked undaunted by the display of force.
"Die!"
But before the weapons could be launched, a large spear of light rains down from above the portals, destroying all of the weapons and caused them to vanish abruptly. Archer and the rest gasped in shock at such a display of power by Morgan.
"Is that all you got, Mongrel?" Morgan taunted.
When following the leads about the missing and abducted children, Kariya and his Servant track down the missing children and rescued those who were yet tested by Caster himself.
Kariya has uttered disgust that the Master was a sick murder who stumbled into the war as he volunteers to deal with him while Morgan deals with Caster.
After making sure the rest of the children get out, Kariya chased after Caster's Master before they end up on a rooftop as the two men settled this.
Thanks to Morgan's magic, he was no longer troubled by the drawback from remodification on the worm crests and more focused on strengthening his body which helped him catching him. Kariya slammed his head against Master of Caster, who gasp in surprise and breaking his nose.
"Bluebeard, hel-"
"You thinking ruined children's life is fun, you sicko?!" Kariya soon grabbed Caster's Master by his shirt and slammed his fist hard against the man's jaw. He sent the man flying backward in the process.
It was another bright and relatively pleasant day in Fuyuki, the scene soon focused on a café as three voices could be heard from inside.
"What do you like, Sakura?"
"I would like this one!"
"I think that we should go now."
Coming out of the bakery are Kariya, Sakura, and… Morgan. Morgan was wearing a white-collar shirt with a blue ribbon tied around her neck. She also wearing long black skirts, long black stockings, and black shoes.
"Sakura, don't eat them until we get back," Morgan said.
"Okay, Morgan-san." Replied Sakura shyly.
At least, Sakura seems to get a little better at talking with Morgan… Kariya thought. But he still remembers the weird stares whenever Sakura gives him after Morgan told her relationship with him.
"Aww, darling! Look at the lovely family!" A woman said.
"Their child is so adorable." Another one replied.
It took a while for Kariya to realize what they were saying before blushing from across his face. Even though he still getting used to Morgan calling him husband… getting the same view from others is embarrassing!
But the idea of Sakura being his daughter is both joyful and complicated at the same time.
"U-Uncle Kariya, what is the matter?" Sakura asked, unaware of what happened around. "Aren't you feeling well?"
"I-It's nothing, Sakura," Kariya said immediately.
"He is fine, Sakura," Morgan reassured. "If something bad happens to him, then I failed my responsible as his wife to noticed."
"O-Okay," Sakura said.
It wasn't long they continued their walk across the street before Kariya and Morgan saw someone got in their way.
"So this is where you are, Morgan." Saber said, dressing in a business suit. Standing beside her was the silver hair woman with red eyes that Kariya recalls seeing through his shared vision.
Kariya soon places Sakura close to him as he gestures the little girl to be quiet and Sakura complied. Something like this could be turned out bad after seeing how the first fight turned out.
"Artoria… you decided on not hiding," Morgan uttered her true name in the general public without any hesitation.
"Whatever game you doing, let them go now!" Artoria demands furiously as this surprised the people around them.
"What game are you referring to?" Morgan retorts calmly. "We're on a stroll—"
"You think that I will believe your bulls after everything you pulled with your jealously!?" Saber snapped angrily. She was about to charge at her before the white-haired woman stopped her by grabbing her shoulder.
"Wait, you can't fight here!" She pleaded with a desperate look.
"That's right. If you start a fight here, it will be proved you are nothing more than a vicious hound on the loose." Morgan stated calmly. Especially noticing how this woman seems important to Artoria even if there is no connection between them.
"She is right. We come with her of our own free will." Kariya added in support of Morgan.
Why is she looking at me like that? Irisviel von Einzbern thought. But she is also shocked at how closely Morgan resembled a lot like Artoria.
She soon approached the white hair woman, making the Saber Servant acting agitated.
"Morgan, don't you dare-"
Ignoring her threat, Morgan got closer to where white hair woman was and proceed to example her, angering Saber even further. 'I see. She is a homunculus… there are two objects in her? One felt like a fae object and other-'
"Hmm. I see." But Saber pushed her away from Irisviel. This made those around look surprised at the angry Artoria.
"Are you alright?" Kariya asked.
"This is nothing..." Morgan said. 'But I can tell you that she isn't Saber's real master,' She mentally added as this made Kariya looks surprised.
She is not her master? Then who is Saber's Master? Kariya thought puzzled.
"Morgan, I challe—"
"Hold it right there, ladies!" A familiar voice of Rider spoke out as everyone turned to see Rider in the modern-day clothes with a large barrel of wine.
After a night over the drinking party, Morgan and Artoria set out a duel between them in the middle of the night. Though things couldn't get worse when Archer and his master were involved in the clash especially Kariya was caught up in the fiery vortex after he and Irisviel tried to avoid the flying swords that Archer sent at everyone.
Standing in front of him was none other than Tokiomi Tohsaka. Kariya has a very good idea of what he was after and Kariya knows it was this day.
"Kariya…" Tokiomi said in a low and deadly voice that somehow boomed through the roaring flames. "I should have known that you would be here. For all your talk about leaving magic behind, you're still as hungry for the Grail just like us."
"I'm not like you who hurt your loved ones for sake of magus glory, you BLOOD HYPORCITIE!" Kariya countered viciously. "You sold your daughter, you bastard! You claim to love her but you sold her away so you can have those two killed each other for the name of Tohsaka!" It's the reason why he turned back on being a magus beside Matou's sick practices that Kariya remembered due to Zouken's bloody lessons in his mind.
Tokiomi thrust his cane as he pointing at Kariya. "Do not speak to me like that! I loved Sakura, and it tore me apart to give her away!"
"A real family never have their children killed each other!" Kariya roar with the glows of his magic circuits and charged forward. "Then again, the magus is never putting their loved ones above themselves! You're the top cream, Tokiomi!"
Tokiomi soon sends flames at him, but to his shocked, they didn't affect Kariya's clothes as the fallen Matou charged out of there and punch Tokiomi's jaw very hard.
This sent Tokiomi flew backward and his face hits hard on the ground.
"Kariya…" Tokiomi got up with a bloody nose.
"Come, you bastard…!" Kariya gesturing him to come forward.
Kariya comes across Tokiomi's dead body in the church after he got a message from Kirei Kotomine, who was the pupil of Tokiomi himself.
"He… is dead?" Kariya whispered in a disbelief tone.
"Indeed… he's been a day for almost two days, my husband," Morgan said, using her magic to check the conditions of Tokiomi's body. "His body was put here."
"How could this happen…?" Kariya asked, slowly frustrated and angry. Even though he hates Tokiomi for what happened, he still cares for Aoi and her daughters.
"Kariya-kun…?" Kariya shivered as he knew that voice almost anywhere.
"Aoi…?" Kariya turned to look at the face of his childhood friend who was standing at the entrance. How in the world she could be here— He suddenly has a shocking conclusion about what happened.
"Aoi! We find his body here!" Kariya spoke out before any misunderstood with her get out of hands.
But Aoi didn't respond as she approaches Tokiomi's body on the ground and knees before her deceased husband.
"Are you satisfied now, Kariya-kun?" Aoi asked in a quiet tone. "The Matou would surely win the Holy Grail."
This left Kariya stunned at her words as they registries into his mind.
"B-B-But I—"
Suddenly a slap could be heard through the whole building as Aoi was sent few inches across from them.
And the one who did was none other than Morgan. Her calm composition was broken for the first time with a murderous look across her face.
"You disillusion bitch…." Morgan growls in an icy tone. "How dared you accused my husband of killing him!?"
"He killed Tokiomi in front of me!" Aoi accused. "H-He never loved anyone!"
"My husband loved your daughter Sakura that is why he makes the deal with the worm to set her free from the abuses she went through! If he didn't, he won't get involved in this!" Morgan countered seriously before points her staff at Aoi.
Kariya was about to stop her before he heard her words.
"You will know how she feels by living through her memories!" Morgan snapped as she fired a small spell into Aoi who suddenly started screams and moving uncontrollably.
"W-What… is this…?!" Aoi screamed, rolling across the floor. "It hurts… these worms won't stop from getting inside!"
"Those are the memories of what Sakura experienced by the choice you and your useless husband made," Morgan answered.
"No! This can't be… There is no way that we made this choice! It's a lie!" Aoi screamed as Kariya clenched his fist hard and looks furious.
"Don't you ever call those memories lies! You… USELESS PASSIVE HOUSEWIFE!" Kariya snapped furiously as the memories of what happened to Sakura still wound his heart. "You… Tokiomi… Zouken… all three of you made life hell for Sakura! You let Tokiomi sold her to Zouken without any care of what that might do to her! Tokiomi sells her so she and Rin will fight to the death! Zouken only cared about getting Sakura to stay immortal! I saw what happened to her after I make it back there! I made the same choice to endured so that worm could let Sakura goes if I get the Grail… no matter how much humiliated I endured."
Aoi looks shocked at Kariya… for the first time, her view been shaken by the tears coming down his eyes that looking down at her.
"It's because of my wife, I don't need to follow Zouken anymore. Sakura is no longer under his fingers anymore. But I will get the Grail so that I can help make happier memories for Sakura than keep reminding her of the living hell you three puts her through!" Kariya declared serious as he realized this what he wanted more than his hatred toward Tokiomi is none longer matter now.
"Kariya…" Aoi said quietly.
"You truly have grown, my husband…" Morgan said softly as she sees a new resolve, Kariya, from coming to terms with his past.
"If you want to atone for what happened, don't let Rin fall down the same path as him. That is the only thing you could do as their mother." Kariya said before looking at Morgan. "Let's go."
Morgan comes close and taking his hand as she felt his hand on her was stronger. With a wave of her staff, the two disappeared completely from the church itself.
Aoi can't help but starting crying while the memories of what Sakura endured still occurred in her mind.
AN: That is my one-shot expand on what happened if Kariya Matou summoned a different Servant from his canon self. But it also because I was surprised by the lostbelt version of Morgan despite not playing the JP version.
