Simon gasped as he jolted up from the hard table he was laying on. The grey sky shone in from the window and revealed that he was in different classroom. The three girls who surrounded the table suddenly turned their heads up to face him.

"He's awake!" yelled Sayori.

Simon winced as he felt a sharp pain in his left side. His hand felt coarse bandages wrapped around his side. He was shirtless and saw his hoodie and black shirt on the floor, partially eaten by the black mucus.

"Simon!" Natsuki gently pulled Simon onto his back. "How are you feeling?"

"I'll be fine." He said, getting up, still sore from the wound. "Where are we?"

"The door you were next to just fell off its hinges once the wires dropped from it. We managed to carry you downstairs and found this classroom open. I didn't have enough bandages to treat your burn and it was starting to flake off and bleed. I told Sayo to keep an eye on you and hold off the bleeding my vest while me and Yuri looked around for some first aid."

Simon looked to Sayori with a pained smile. "Thanks, Sayo."

"No problem, Simo." She said with a grin.

"We found the home 'ec room a few doors and saw a first aid kit on the wall. We had to deal with some crawling- whatever the hell they were but we managed to get it, bring it back here and treat your wound. Also we found this in an open locker."

Natsuki held up a black hoodie about his size. He took it and put it on.

"Thanks for patching me up, Natsuki." He looked at her and Yuri, who were standing next to each other. "How about you? Are you all alright?"

"Yeah." Said Yuri. "Those freaks couldn't stop us." She smiled at Natsuki. "And it doesn't hurt having a doctor with us."

Natsuki gave an embarrassed smile.

"I do my best."

Her smile then changed to concern as she looked back at Simon.

"What was that stuff you jammed into your arm?"

"A painkiller. My last one. Musta' picked it up in the tunnels. I hardly use them anymore but the toxin or whatever that came from the creature was just so unbearable that I needed something to take away the pain. Stay away from that shit."

"And the rifle?" Asked Yuri.

"It just- melted out the door, as weird as that sounds. I'm used to finding weapons in odd places but even that was just strange. A fucking blessing, even if it just had to arrive when we were in the shit."

Simon turned to Sayori, who looked at him with concern.

"How about you? Are you holding up?"

Sayori put on a weak smile

"Yeah, I am. Thanks for saving me out there."

"I should be thanking you. You're quite a good shot. If it weren't for you, who knows what would've happened."

"I just picked up the gun and tried my best just to hold it. Damn thing knocked me down when I..." Sayori's smile began to vanish. She quickly covered her face.

"What the hell was that thing? Why did it look like me?!"

Natsuki went around the table and gently guided Sayori to a chair.

"It's okay Natsuki. That thing is gone now."

"But why did it look like me?"

Simon then turned and faced Sayori.

"I think that some of these creatures create or, "mold" themselves out of our fears, our worries, hates. Our worst thoughts. When I was alone, they did it to me. But now I think they're starting to draw off anyone they can "sense"."

Sayori looked terrified. Simon immediately regretted what he just said and tried to salvage the situation.

"But it doesn't do anything to you. And it doesn't mean that-"

Sayori's look of fear turned into a look of dejection.

"I knew what that thing was. I'm glad I shot it. But it doesn't mean that it's dead."

The other girls looked at her nervously. Simon hoped he wasn't the only one who understood what she meant.

"You said you can stop this, right?"

"Yeah. I can. And I think the answer lies with your missing friend. Monika, her name was?"

Sayori held her arms together and looked down.

"I saw her. Right after it went dark."

"You did? Where?" Asked Yuri.

"Everything was black. And quiet. I looked around and there was just- nothing. But then my eyes started to adjust to the dark, I saw walls, chairs. It looked like I was inside a room with the lights off. I tried to move, but it was so difficult, like I was underwater. I managed to turn and see a piano. I was in the music room. And there was Monika, standing near it. There was someone in front of her."

"Who was it?" Asked Natsuki.

"I tried to move myself to get a better look and then- he saw me."

Sayori started to breathe heavily.

"He pointed at me then… My head. He filled my head with awful things. I could barely think. I don't know when I ended on the roof. But then I heard Simon fire his gun and I came to my senses."

"But who was this guy?!" Asked Natsuki. "What did he look like?!"

Sayori slowly turned her head up and looked straight at Simon with fear in her eyes.

"He looked like you."

Simon's heart began to race.

"But there was something wrong with him. He was drenched in blood and had this horrible smile."

"It couldn't be him." Simon thought to himself. "No. It couldn't be. He was killed all those years ago. It can't be him again. Please. Not him again."

"Simon!"

Yuri's yell snapped Simon back to his senses, he saw that all the girls had taken one step away from him.

"Simon. What's going on?"

Simon sank his head low.

"Remember when I said that these things create themselves off our worst thoughts? He- It-. He's the worst of me. I thought he was gone. But after all these years… He's come back. Back to torture me again."

Sayori suddenly walked to Simon and put her hand on his shoulder.

"But you've stopped him before. And you can stop him again." She said with a weak, but honest smile.

Simon returned the smile.

"Thank you." He looked at the other girls. "Thank all of you. It's been so hard, having to fight alone all these years. But seeing you all, how brave you've all been. How much you care for each other. It's helped me a lot. It's given me hope."

Before he could get off the table. Natsuki ran to Simon and hugged him.

"Simon, you're a weird, awkward boy with a big heart. And I'm gonna miss you so much when you leave us."

Simon hugged her back. Tears swelling in his eyes.

"I'm gonna miss you too, Natsuki."

They released themselves from their hug, a look of slight embarrassment on both their faces as they saw Sayori look at Yuri with a knowing smile. Simon got off the table and stood up.

"Right. Let's go find Monika, and put a stop to this."

Simon the rifle on his back and grabbed his bat. Natsuki managed to get Sayori a metal table leg while she and Yuri equipped their respective bat and knife.

"Which way's the music room?"

"Bottom floor." Said Sayori.

When they opened the door they saw that the corrosion from the last stairwell had spread throughout the corridor and had fused the doors together.

"This wasn't here before."

"He's trying to scare us. Don't give him what he wants."

The team made their way through the corridor, aside from the sound of their feet crunching on the rusty floor the hall was silent. As they went down the stairs they heard a faint sound coming from below. When they reached the bottom floor the faint sound of piano music could be heard from across the hall. A simple, sad song echoed through the hall and got louder as Simon was lead by the girls to the music room.

The team stood before the door. The small window was cracked and hid the view of the room. Simon gripped his bat and gently opened the door. The song became clear and no longer muffled.

The music room was large and clean. Not a spec of corrosion anywhere. A set of drums and a pair of guitars neatly stood in the corner of room. On the other side was the piano. In front sat a young girl who's figure was obscured by the long copper hair that flowed from a white bow in her hair down past her waist.

The team began to slowly approach the girl, who was still playing her song. Sayori took a few steps ahead got close to her.

"Monika?"

Her song got slower, and slower, until stopped. She stood still for a second before collapsing onto the ground.

"Monika!"

Sayori ran to her, knelt down and held her up. The team quickly approached the pair. Simon looked down at the fallen girl. She looked completely exhausted. Dark rings were under her barely open green eyes. Breathing heavily, she looked at Sayori.

"I couldn't stop it." She mumbled.

Suddenly the door slammed shut behind them and the corrosion began to spread rapidly throughout the room. The light from the outside then began to quickly fade. A loud, droning noise could be heard from all sides. The ground beneath them began to rumble and brought them to their knees as the corrosion completely enveloped the room. Monika began to shake her head.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry!"

Soon the darkness swallowed the whole room.

Simon found himself alone. A faint red light with no source shone down on him. All he could see was darkness.

Then he heard footsteps. They echoed through the empty void until he finally entered the light. That horrid, horrid smile. The sickly-smelling blooded that caked nearly every inch of him. Those wide, staring eyes that showed nothing but pure sadism.

Then it spoke.

"Hello Simon." He said in a slow, broken voice.

Simon felt dread unlike any other. He never spoke before.

The foul doppelgänger then turned around, and Simon saw Monika laying on her side, illuminated by another red light.

"Have you met my friend?"
