Hello friends! Welcome back to the story. I had changed the date from what was previously planned to match with October, but it was not able to be published in time. Having said that, the chapter is now finished and ready for your reading pleasure. Some ghoulish chills and excitement are bound to happen within the confines of this chapter… right after reading some long overdue reviews!

duskrider: I'm glad you enjoyed it! It does seem to be following a bit of a pattern, doesn't it?

Djinn: I'm glad that you liked the chapter! I figured that Cassie would be a fun choice to work with. The Scooby Doo characters are an interesting guess.

A Quiet Reader: You did indeed get the date right. Your opinion on Leo there will be taken into consideration. Options have indeed been opened up for the fastest turtle alive. I figured that the guys would not want to take the chance of anything going on in New York on Mikey's first time away. This was his first time outside of their home state after all.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter. I had a feeling that this date would get the rating range that you mentioned, but I surprised myself with how it turned out. That kiss he had will definitely be taken into account. The irony is pretty strong when you speed up a turtle. Let's see if your guessing streak continues.

That looks like everyone, so let's begin! I don't own TMNT or any of the series that show up here. I do own original characters, items, concepts, and anything else that pops up unless stated otherwise.

September 12, 2012

New York City, New York

Leo was alone in a part of the lair no one had seen before. It looked fairly new, like it was just done up in the past few days. It looked like a Blacksmith's forge, down to a hard stone taking the place of an anvil. The turtle was wearing a welding apron as he hammered away at an object. He looked it over before quenching it in some oil.

He pulled it out to look it over, revealing that it was a circular object with a large flat piece. He went to work perfecting the polish and welding a symbol onto the flat surface. He sounded his relief as he wiped sweat from his brow, looking over his handiwork.

"This was a lot harder than I thought," sighed Leo. "Once there are some gemstones it'll be perfect. Then all I have to do is wait a few years… I should have started this closer to that time." He heard a shuffle behind him, causing him to jerk a bit.

"Perhaps you should study the art of blade smithing," suggested a very familiar voice. "Your craftsmanship is rather impressive for a beginner." Leo suddenly turned around, his face looking terrified as he was face to face with a smiling Master Splinter.

"Master Splinter! This isn't what it looks like! I was just practicing to make… clan rings to wear around the lair! I figured it'd be nice to show off our Hamato pride and…" He was interrupted as the rat master held up a hand.

"My son, I am no fool nor am I blind. You and Miwa have made your interests clear for all to see." The man watched his adoptive son sigh as he rubbed his arm.

"Sensei, I can't ignore what I feel. I know that she is your daughter and you raised us as your sons, but what I feel for Karai is more than what siblings should share. I know you haven't said anything about it, but I can't help feeling like you won't support us. In the past we've gone against your word, but here your word is the most important thing." Leo expected a lot of things when he looked down at his feet, though a palm placed on top of his head was not one of them.

"My son, you and Miwa were raised within separate houses. While it was contact with my DNA that triggered you and your brothers' human mutation, in a sense it could be seen as a blood transfusion. I have spent a long time meditating on this situation. Tell me, how serious are you about this?" Yoshi watched as his son looked up to him with a pleading frown.

"There's not really any other way I can say it. I strongly believe that she's my Tang Shen." Leo watched the rat master send him a small smile.

"Then you have my answer." Splinter suddenly went to a serious face as he pinched a nerve point on Leo, causing the lead turtle to gasp out in pain. "BUT YOU WILL INDEED WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE 18! WE DO NOT LIVE IN MEDIEVAL SOCIETY!" Leo quickly nodded his head as he let out more gasps.

"HAI SENSEI! THAT'S THE PLAN!" Satisfied, Yoshi released his hold on Leo. The turtle gasped once again as he rubbed the offended area. The sound of someone walking into the main lair area caught the duo's attention.

"Hey guys!" cried the voice of Casey. "Thought I'd drop in to say hi!" Leo and Splinter soon exited the forge while Raph and Donnie exited from their rooms.

"You sound like you're in a good mood," stated Raph. "I take it your date went well." The hothead earned a snicker from Casey in response.

"I gave her a 9 before I made my way over here. She was actually a metahuman named Lauren, though she said her friends call her Jinx. (1) We had a lot of fun, especially when she used her powers in the middle of the day to make some Purple Dragon thugs go running scared. Now I'm just worried about whether I can choose between her and one of my other high rating dates." The hockey player watched as Donnie sent a smirk his way.

"Imagine being Mikey and having dates he rated as 10s," joked the genius. He then pulled out his T-Phone and watched over something. "Speaking of, he should be back right about… Now." As if he were a psychic, Donnie's prediction came true as Mikey skidded into the lair.

"What's up my dudes!?" cried the blonde brother. "I got me another nine and Metropolis is fine!" The boy stood straight from his sliding position as he looked towards his family, Leo sending him a smile.

"That's great, Mikey," congratulated the Leader in Blue. "Sounds like she was definitely better than Shini. Of course, the lipstick also says a lot." Mikey smirked as he wiped his lips, not even needing to check to know the truth. This earned him some chuckles from his brothers and a knowing look from Splinter.

"Yeah, laugh it up. Anyway, Cassie was amazing. She definitely liked the Mikey charm and she knew exactly what to get at the restaurant. I wouldn't mind adding calamari to my diet from here on." This earned him a disgusted sound from Casey.

"You can count me out on that one dude," denied the vigilante. "I have enough tentacles to deal with when the Kraang attack." This earned a bigger laugh from the guys as Casey shivered in disgust. Mikey pulled up his T-Phone, looking at the time. He smirked as he walked past the others.

"Gotta rate my date. BRB!" He quickly entered his room, sitting down at his computer. He typed as fast as he could without using his super speed, hitting enter as soon as he finished his last sentence. As per usual, the next message appeared faster than he would normally expect.

He opened the notification as he looked over his next date's profile. His eyes widened as he got to a certain detail. "Dudes! I got a monster as my date!" The others ran in as quickly as possible, looking over the profile with him.

Likes and Interests: Freedom, scream cheese, exploring the world, my family and friends, etc

Type of Person I'm Looking For: A nice guy who can appreciate my independence and need for freedom. Being energetic and a goofball definitely helps.

Mikey turned towards the others with a huge grin. "Isn't it awesome!?" His family looked amongst each other, concerned looks on their faces.

"Mikey, are you sure you don't wanna reroll?" questioned Donnie. "I'm all for nice monsters, but a Vampire can be pretty dangerous." The group watched as Mikey nodded his head in excitement.

"I think I can handle it. And hey, you guys can just be there to give me a hand if things do get testy. You've done it before." His brothers couldn't help but widen their eyes at their brother's words. Leo cleared his throat as he shook his head.

"Have we?" questioned the leader. "I can't remember a time after the first date." Mikey sent his brother a raised brow as he tilted his head.

"That's what I was talking about, bro. Did you hit your head recently?" Leo was about to reply when Raph pushed him playfully.

"It's more that I kicked his butt pretty good in sparring recently," gossiped the hothead. "Anyway, where's this date of yours taking place anyways?" Mikey looked over the details, smiling as his tongue was sticking out.

"Looks like I'm meeting her at her apartment. Maybe the place she wants to go is secretive. She's got good reviews so I don't think it's a trap. Definitely a good idea that you dudes will be watching out for anything suspicious." The blonde turned back towards the group, watching as Splinter nodded his head.

"It is good indeed," agreed the master. "Err on the side of caution, my sons. The unknown can be more dangerous than what is known. If it comes to a confrontation, your very lives will be on the line." The boys nodded as Mikey stood up.

"We'll be careful as possible, Sensei," reassured Leo. The lead turtle looked at his brothers with a small smirk. "Let's rest up for patrol tonight. Then tomorrow we'll spend most of the day gearing up for anything that happens. We'll also carry Mikey's gear so that he can be combat ready." The other turtles nodded their heads in response to his plan.

"Sounds good," agreed Mikey. "Sleep well everybody!" The others filed out of the room, allowing Mikey to lay down on his bed. Even with the possibility of a fight, he couldn't help the excitement welling up in him. He dreamed of pumpkins, ghouls, and especially vampires that night.

The Next Day

Mikey zoomed through the streets of the city, some stars shining in the night sky in spite of the lights. He hadn't been to this area of the city before, something that was becoming less common thanks to all of these dates. He could have sworn he saw a gargoyle stop in the midst of moving as he ran by, though he attributed that to his speed making things look funny at times. He finally noticed the apartment building he was directed to as he ran into the building. He walked up the stairs as he tried to find the right room, only for one of the doors to open.

"Is that my electrician?" questions an elderly voice. Mikey looked towards the person as if to say hi, only to jerk a bit as he was met with an elderly wolfman. The creature seemed equally as shocked to see him, only to take a big whiff. "Oh! Yer one of those shifter kids."

Mikey nodded his head, unsure what to say. The wolfman grabbed the door to his apartment before letting loose an annoyed snarl. "That girl brings in all kinds of people from that snazzy dating thing. I'd probably have a nice girl myself if I had someone to set me up on blind dates." Mikey quickly held up his hands with a nervous chuckle.

"I like talking as much as the next dude but I don't wanna run late for my date," interrupted the blonde. "Maybe some other time or…" He sighed in thankfulness as the wolfman nodded his head.

"Oh I understand. Don't wanna keep Miss Dracula waiting. Have a blessed night." The old man shut the door slowly, a small smile on his snout. Mikey couldn't help but gulp as he pulled at the collar of his shirt.

"Miss Dracula?" He shook his head as he patted his cheeks. "It could just be a coincidence. She's just a vampire… with the last name Dracula." The boy decided to just keep moving as he had the flowers in hand. He had to give her a chance just like all of the others.

He soon reached the room numbered 668, having to dial back as the building seemed to skip the dreaded three 6s when it came to room numbers. The boy quickly straightened his hair before knocking on the door. He heard a bit of shuffling inside before the door began to open. "Is Batty_Beauty… home?" Mikey's eyes widened as he laid eyes on the vampire girl.

She was exactly as described in her profile, her wide blue eyes feeling like they were piercing his soul. She wore a black dress that hugged her form yet flowed out at the bottom, a black cape with a high collar and red underside, black and red striped tights, black mesh fingerless gloves that ran up to her sleeves, and red high heel shoes. Mikey's heart began to beat faster as a blush formed on his face. The girl sniffed the air, as if taking in a scent. The blonde boy began to worry that he couldn't get the sewer smell out this time, only to watch the girl grin in excitement.

"Holy rabies!" cried the vampire. "You're actually the first monster I've gotten on this dating site." Mikey watched his date frown as she smacked her forehead. "I mean cryptid! I…"

The blonde gave his date time to gather her thoughts as she shook her head. "Sorry. I know some monsters out here prefer to be called cryptids and I'm still getting used to it. I knew I should have practiced in the mirror more." Mikey quickly held up his hands in a dissuading manner, causing his date to look towards him.

"It's fine. Truth be told you're the first monster I've ever been on a date with. I had my first meeting with an actual monster earlier when an old wolfman stepped out thinking I was an electrician." He watched the girl take a deep breath as she nodded her head. She then smiled at him as she placed a hand on her chest.

"Mr. Wolfsbane is a good neighbor to have around here. He can usually smell when something's going on before I can hear it." The vampire then spun around a bit as if to put herself on full display. "Anyway, I'm Mavis Dracula and you must be MCMikey." Mikey chuckled a bit as he nodded his head.

"Michelangelo Hamato, but friends and ladies call me Mikey." He quickly grabbed the flowers from his makeshift sheath as he held them out to her, revealing that they were black roses. "These are for you. I know that black roses usually deal with death and mourning but the guy at the shop said you'd love these." Mavis took the plants with glee as she took a whiff of them.

"Certain monsters use black roses for romantic occasions like dates or weddings. That botanist must know exactly what he's talking about." The vampire gasped as she had a bit of a panicked look on her face. "I almost forgot!" She set the flowers on a nearby table before turning into a bat, shocking Mikey as the purple smoke and light blue sparks spooked him.

He watched Mavis fly back to her room to get something before a larger puff of smoke exited the room. She quickly ran out with her Project Aphrodite pin situated on her chest and a blood red purse hanging from her shoulder. "I can't believe I almost forgot my pin and my bag. That would have been embarrassing to get to Night Howlers without the pin." Mikey couldn't help the huge grin on his face as he looked her over again.

"So vampires really can turn into bats! That's so cool! I really only have access to the internet and people tend to say all kinds of things there. You don't sparkle during the day like those Twilight vampires, right?" He watched his date laugh as if he had told a hilarious joke.

"You have no idea how many humans ask me that. No, burning in the sun is more accurate." Mavis then sent him a slightly confused smile as she tilted her head. "So you've never seen a monster before?" Mikey let a sad smile form on his face as he nodded his head.

"Yeah. Truth be told my family and I have been living in the sewers for years since the shifting stuff is more recent." The hidden turtle watched his date frown for a moment before sending him a coy smirk.

"Well you're going to like it here then. Let's just say that there's a world here you've never seen before." Mikey looked at his date in confusion, only for her to suddenly make a frightened face. "And we're gonna be late if we don't move now!" The boy quickly nodded his head as he smirked.

"Then let's get a move on! Just tell me where to go, Lady Dracula." He watched Mavis roll her eyes with her smirk returning as she walked right by him.

"I got a better idea." The vampire suddenly transformed into a bat, looking down at the boy with a smirk. "Try to keep up!" She suddenly flew out a nearby window, the object having been left open. Mikey grinned as he used his superspeed to run out of the building.

Out on top of the nearby roof, the other turtles were keeping an eye on the apartment complex. They were in turtle mode just in case something goes wrong. They had already seen some strange activity, such as humans that looked like they were barely able to walk and small black beings moving around. None of the activity was really concerning at the moment, though the oddities continued to catch Donnie's attention. Leo hummed as he watched Mavis fly out of the apartment.

"Either that place has a bat problem or that's the vampire Mikey's on a date with," stated the fearless leader. "She better not be flying away because of a fight or something." Raph pounded his fists with a small smirk.

"Well if a fight is going on then we'll get to bash some heads," revealed the hothead. "Like I always say, the hammer of justice is unisex." Donnie looked at him with a small frown as he shook his head.

"You only said that once," argued the egghead. "This is literally the second time you've said it." It looked like a fight was about to break out between the duo, only for Leo to hold up his hand in a pause sign.

"There's Mikey," interrupted the leader. The blonde boy sped out of the building, quickly looking around for a moment. The moment Mikey laid eyes on his brothers, he sent them a grin and a thumbs up before speeding off the way Mavis went. "He gave us the all clear sign. That means there's no problem yet."

Leo stood up from his crouched position as he sent his brothers a nod. "Let's move you two." The trio quickly began moving across the rooftops, doing their best not to be spotted. They followed Donnie as he took the lead with his T-Phone in hand. They had to suddenly stop for a moment as something flew by their face rather quickly.

"Hey!" cried a masculine voice. The brothers couldn't believe their eyes as a gargoyle was actually flying in place while shaking its fist. "Watch where you're going! Bloody teenagers." The creature continued on its intended route, leaving the turtles speechless.

Back with Mikey, he was surprised by how fast Mavis was flying. He had to control his perception as he ran so that he didn't overshoot her and have to turn back. It was obvious by the excited grin that she had that she was enjoying their little race. She soon stopped at a particular point, looking at a nearby restaurant. Mikey quickly ran over there as fast as he could before returning to normal.

"I win!" cheered the blonde. "Uh huh! I'm the man!" He heard hearty laughter, quickly turning towards the source. He watched Mavis land as she returned back to her true form.

"That was incredible!" cried the vampire. "How'd you do that!? You were so fast! Are you a cheetah shifter or something?" Mikey quickly shook his head in denial.

"Nah. Funny enough I'm a turtle. An invisible dragon spirit gave me my speed powers as a gift. Anyway, we should get inside." He watched Mavis nod as she sent him a small smile.

"Sounds good, but we don't go in the front. Follow me." The turtle boy couldn't help but hum in confusion as he followed his date around back. He soon noticed a small sign hanging above the door, the object boldly displaying the words "Night Howlers". The duo quickly walked inside, Mikey getting the door for his date.

They walked down a long flight of stairs, art depicting a man turning into a werewolf trailing down the sides. They came across another door, Mikey opening it like the last one. He couldn't help the shocked look on his face as he saw the area in front of him.

"Whoa." The place looked like a rather fancy restaurant, a moving picture of red clouds floating making up the walls. Monsters of different kinds were seen around the area, from blob creatures to zombies and even a gargoyle or two. A witch at the greeting desk held up a hand to stop the daters in their tracks. Suddenly a large fur ball of some kind shuffled over to them and began to sniff them over.

The creature yipped happily like a dog before returning to the witch. The woman leaned down like she was listening to it say something, though it was unleashing a bunch of hisses and grunts to Mikey's ears. The woman's eyes widened as she whispered something to the creature. The being nodded multiple times, causing the witch to smile with a new energy. She stood up straight as she nodded her head, bringing up a pen in the shape of a bone finger.

"Welcome to Night Howlers," greeted the witch. "I see the pins of that fancy new dating service. Are you using your date with us tonight or was there a mix up at your usual location?" Mikey furrowed his brow, wondering why she didn't immediately assume that this was their first stop. Thankfully Mavis nodded her head before he could embarrass himself.

"You should find our reservation under the service's name," clarified the vampire. "It should have Batty_Beauty attached to it if we're not the only ones tonight." Mikey watched the witch nod her head again as she flipped through a book on the desk. The pages soon stopped as she read over the lines on it. The old woman sounded her excitement as she returned to her tall standing position.

"Here you are! Sniffles here has informed me of your species, Miss Dracula, but we have a rare shifter in our midst. We accommodate many kinds of creatures here so I must ask for a preferred diet for you sir." She pointed towards Mikey as if he didn't know she was speaking with him. The boy quickly shook his head to get his mind in gear as he sent the greeter a smirk.

"Well I tend to eat a lot of human foods but I can also eat anything with algae," revealed Mikey. "I don't mean to be picky but this is my first time here and I wanna have the best experience possible." He watched the witch smile as she used the pen like a wand, making two menus float up.

"And we definitely want that for you. The humanoid-menu it is then. The menus will show you to your table." The pamphlets moved across the room at the witch's instruction, Mikey and Mavis following after them. The objects landed on a table in the corner, cutlery being lowered down to the table by floating handkerchiefs.

Mikey couldn't help but marvel at everything as he sat down, his date sitting on the other side of him. He opened up the menu, looking over all of the options. He smirked as he noticed some foods he recognized, though even they seemed to have ingredients he didn't understand. He looked towards his date, noticing how she looked like she already had her order figured out as she smiled at him. He smiled back as he lowered his menu.

"So, Mavis, tell me about yourself. I like to get to know my dates more than just what their profile says." He watched Mavis grin as she nodded her head.

"Well, since I'm the first vampire you met, I wanna put some of the superstitions to rest," began the vampire. "First off, most vampires actually really like garlic. My dad just has an allergy that makes his throat swell and it bothers my stomach. There's also…" Mikey quickly held his hands up in order to stop his date.

"Hold on, Mavis. I like the cool monster facts and I'll definitely take the garlic thing into consideration if I make anything for ya, but I wanna get to know you. Not the stuff that applies to every vampire. There's only one you." He watched his date give him a wide eyed look before she chuckled in embarrassment.

"Sorry. I'm just used to people asking me all about the vampire stuff. It's honestly nice to have someone take a personal interest in me. The only people to ever have that kind of interest from the start have been my family and friends." Mikey was about to say something in response, only for a rather bushy humanoid creature to walk over with a notepad in hand.

It began speaking in noises that seemed rather random to Mikey, the boy unable to tell what he was saying. Noticing his confusion, Mavis sent him a smile. "He's saying welcome and asking what we'll want to drink. I'll have coconut water to drink by the way." The blonde boy watched the creature quickly write down the request before sending it a smile.

"I'll take a root beer then." Mikey quickly sent Mavis a small smile. "You know what you want to eat, Mavis?" He watched the girl nod her head vigorously.

"Yeah." The vampire looked towards the waiter with a slight nod. "I'll have blood sausage with wormcakes, scream cheese on the side please." Mikey watched with slight confusion as the waiter wrote down these details, something his date noticed. "This technically counts as my breakfast." The boy sounded his understanding as he nodded his head.

"I can understand that. In that case, I'll have a sirloin steak medium well with a side of spice fries. Sorry to do this out of order but could we get the rolls as our appetizer?" He looked towards the waiter to notice that it sounded rather pleased as it wrote down the order. It jiggled a bit as it shuffled away.

The menus went back to flying as they returned to the front desk. The blonde watched the pamphlets fly for a bit before he turned back towards his date. "I have so got to learn to understand those guys for the next time I come here. I don't wanna make a mistake if they have to say something other than the order stuff." Mavis smiled as she nodded her head.

"Well I can always teach you after this first date. It sounds really random but there's a rudimentary system to their language. Anyway, you asked about me specifically. One thing I can think of is that my dad owns a hotel for monsters." Mikey's eyes widened as he leaned forward a bit.

"No way! That's so cool! I've never been to a hotel. Your dad must be pretty rich to pay for that himself." He watched his date look down as she sighed.

"Yeah, being the daughter of Count Dracula has its perks. With how overly protective he is, I can't exactly have much of a social life." Mikey hummed as he noticed his date's change in mood. There was obviously something hard she wasn't ready to talk about yet. He smiled as he took her hands in his, causing her to look at him as he smiled.

"My dad's pretty protective himself. It's just their way of showing they care, even if they go a little kooky at times." He watched his date chuckle as he rubbed his thumbs over the back of her cold hands. "So… any funny hotel stories you've got?" Mavis nodded in response to his question as a devious smirk appeared on her face.

Back outside, the guys were watching over the restaurant building like hawks watching prey. Donnie was looking over his t-phone again as if he were watching something important. Raph kept his eye on the surrounding area, making sure that no surprise visitors would try to ruin things. Leo was back to keeping an eye on the building itself to make sure there were no surprises from the place. He quickly sent a message to Mikey to see if he was okay, earning a quick thumbs up emoji and a picture of him with his date. The leader smiled as he nodded his head.

"So far so good," relayed Leo. "He even sent a picture of the two of them together." He showed the image off to his brothers, causing them to look at it. They too seemed surprised at the appearance of the place. Raph couldn't help but whistle as he nodded his head with a smirk.

"Dang," complimented the hothead. "Mikey gets all the hot girls with this service." Donnie sent him a teasing look as he put his hands on his hips.

"I think you just have a thing for black haired girls, seeing as you seemed very interested in Buttercup of the Powerpuff Girls," joked the genius. This earned him a punch to the arm from Raph, causing him to cry out in pain. Leo put his T-Phone away as he shook his head.

"Stay focused, guys," ordered the leader. "We need to be ready for anything. We haven't dealt with a vampire before. If something goes wrong and it comes to a fight, we could be in for a rough time." The sound of a fast moving object caught the group's attention, causing them to leap away from each other as the object crashed into the roof.

The dust seemed to swirl around a bit before it settled, revealing a pale man who stood above all of the turtles in height. He had slicked-back black hair, blue eyes, pointed ears, enlarged canine teeth, a long chin, and a hooked nose. He was wearing an all-black tuxedo ensemble with black dress shoes and a black cape that has a high collar and fuchsia inner-lining. The very image of him screamed vampire in the group's eyes. The man looked towards Leo with his fangs bared.

"You will not lay a hand on my little mouse!" cried the man in a Romanian accent. He roared as he jumped at the turtle, Leo dodging to the right as the man took a swipe at him. The turtle slashed at the vampire with his weapons, cutting at his cape but missing his body. To his and the others' shock the fabric stitched itself back together as their opponent leapt backwards. The vampire then turned into a wolf as he rushed at Raph.

"Bring it on!" cried the hothead. He punched the vampire straight in the nose, actually causing the man to release a "yipe" in his wolf form. Raph suddenly found himself being lifted into the air by nothing as the wolf glared at him with shrunken pupils. The vampire tried to throw Raph off of the roof, only for the turtle to catch his sai onto a nearby pipe and hold on for dear life. "Me and my big mouth."

Donnie quickly appeared behind the vampire through the use of a smoke bomb, hitting him on the head with his staff. The being turned back to normal as he grabbed the weapon, breaking it in his grasp. Donnie chuckled nervously as he held the now splintered weapon in front of his face, only for the vampire to drape his cape in front of his lower jaw as his eyes glowed in power.

"You will listen and obey me. You will destroy your allies before…" The vampire was interrupted by a shuriken to the head, roaring out in pain as he leapt away. Donnie shook his head as if some spell placed on him had ended. Leo quickly ran over and placed his hand on his brother.

"You alright, Donnie?" questioned the leader. He watched his genius brother nod his head as Raph pulled himself back up onto the roof. They watched the vampire pull the shuriken out from the side of his head, crushing it in his grasp.

"So, this is your hunters' mark. I only give you one chance. Return to the depths from whence you came, or I will track down your huntsmen clan and destroy it to its very roots! So says Count Dracula!" Donnie and Leo looked on as the vampire floated upward, his cape floating behind him for the added presence, only for Raph to tile his head in confusion.

"Huntsmen clan?" questioned the hothead. "What kind of undead crap are you on about?" Dracula raised his hand as he lifted the trio into the air, his fury visible in his eyes.

"Do not play daft with me! I heard you proclaim how you planned to hurt my daughter!" Leo's eyes widened as he quickly shook his head in denial.

"We were just looking out for our brother!" cried the leader. "We've never interacted with a vampire before and didn't know if she'd be hostile or not! This is the first time we've ever met a monster so we didn't want to take any chances. We've been fighting alien invaders that are trying to enslave the planet for a year so we tend to be on edge with the unknown!" Dracula furrowed his brow as he thought over the boy's words, only for Donnie to nod his head.

"Yeah!" added the genius. "We're just looking out for our family like you are! I mean, why else would you be here if not to keep an eye on their date? That would be…" The turtles suddenly fell to the ground as they saw Dracula's face change to one of shock and terror.

"DATE!?" cried the count. "My little voodoo doll is on a date!?" Donnie sat up as the vampire looked towards him.

"I mean it's a dating service so she's probably been on a few before having one with our brother. They actually have a lot of security to protect the…" The genius finally noticed the looks his brothers were giving him, causing him to mimic their deadpan expression. "And you didn't know about the dating service did you?" His question was answered by Dracula in the form of the vampire turning into a bat and flying past them, quickly making his way down the alley.

As all of this was going on, Mikey found himself laughing. It had been a while since the waiter brought them their drinks and the rolls, giving him plenty of time to hear some of Mavis's stories. Some of the stuff she shared with him was insane, most of it hard for him to not outright laugh at. It got to the point where he had to try his best not to let his laughter become a bother to the others in the restaurant. He finally began to calm down after the latest story as he placed a hand on his chest.

"So let me see if I got it right," requested Mikey. "Frankenstein literally saw someone turn a stove on, cried out about the fire, and ended up running around with his shirt on fire and nearly burned down the whole place?" He watched his date nod with a giggle as he tried his best not to start laughing again. "No offense to him but he's a little too jumpy to be on fire watch." Mavis nodded once again as she unleashed a happy sigh.

"Uncle Frank tried his best but Dad really should have taken his fear of fire into account. Thankfully he found another monster to take up the job for when Mr. Burnitz goes on vacation. And yes, we all know the irony of his name and he's a good detector in spite of it. It's honestly nice to talk about the hotel without all of the…" Mikey noticed the pause in her speech, though he could tell it wasn't just because the food was being brought to them.

She only nodded at the hairy creature in thanks before it wandered off, a sad frown on her face. She didn't even seem to react when her bowl of "scream cheese" was screaming at her. Mikey placed one of his hands on her wrist as he leaned forward a bit.

"People say I'm a good listener. If you want, you could tell me about it." He watched Mavis look around a bit, most likely thinking about her response, only for her to sigh and nod her head.

"Okay, but please don't freak out. You see, I'm not really supposed to be here. As in here in New York. I kinda… ran away from home a few months ago." Mikey's eyes widened as he looked his date in the eye.

"Ran away? But you were just talking about how you live in an awesome hotel. You even told all of those funny stories. Why would you need to run away from all of that?" He watched his date look down for a moment before continuing.

"Because I've been there my whole life and was never allowed to go anywhere. I wasn't even allowed to go outside until the hotel was built, and even then I couldn't leave the haunted forest that surrounded it. All my life I was shelled away, being told that humans are evil creatures that steal candy and bite off people's toes. I didn't even know that my allergy to garlic was just gas troubles until I accidentally got a hold of some. I was starting to get tired of it all as Dad just kept me locked up inside the stone walls of the second place I've known as home."

She took a deep breath as she looked down at the table they were sitting at. "I understand that humans killed my mother and Dad never forgave them, but I at least wanted to fly around and see what Transylvania had to offer. That's not even the worst part. Last year, I finally got the chance to do something I always wanted to do. In spite of everything I was told, I wanted to see the humans for myself and see if they were really all bad or not."

She looked towards some nearby paper napkins as she used telekinesis to pull them towards her and make them into the shape of a castle. "One day, a human teen named Johnny found his way to the hotel. He had gotten lost while on a trip with his parents, which thankfully we were in the midst of our off season. Dad went off into the human world to find where his parents were, leaving Johnny in the hands of some witches to keep out of trouble. I wound up seeing him, and I thought we Zinged." Mikey tilted his head in confusion at this notion.

"What is a Zing anyway? I saw the service advertise monsters finding their Zing and I never really understood it other than a term for a partner." He watched Mavis look at him with a sad smile, as if happy about his curiosity.

"A Zing is like true love for monsters. It's said that a person only zings once in their life, though I've met a few monsters that found another zing after their first one. I think the best way to explain it is finding that one person who would make the perfect spouse if you were to marry them. At the time, I think I zinged with Johnny. So I did what most people I met said any teenager would do: I pulled him away from the witches and showed him all of the fun things to do around the hotel."

She chuckled as she shook her head. "He took it all in and loved every bit of it. He even asked the goofy question of if his hand would disappear if he put it in the Invisible Man's mouth." Mikey chuckled as that was something he'd unapologetically admit he'd try. "He was so wild and free, making me wish to see if every human was as free as him."

Her smile disappeared again as she looked towards the moving cloud wallpaper to the side of her. "Then it all went away as my dad returned. He was angry at me for showing Johnny around, trying to whisper to me quietly that he could have killed me. He wouldn't hear me out on how he was nothing but kind and took Johnny with him to speak with his parents. I tried to follow them in secret, only to watch as he lowered to the edge of the forest."

Mikey watched as his date's teeth became more dagger like, a clear sign of her growing anger. "I thought I would have a chance to try and talk him into at least letting me write to Johnny, only to watch as he used hypnosis to make Johnny forget everything he saw and never return. The hotel, the monsters, and especially me. Then Johnny just waltzed off and ran into his family. I couldn't take it anymore and flew back to my room."

The scream cheese actually started to quiet down as her anger continued to grow, tears starting to fall from her cheeks. "I tried to talk with him as if I didn't see anything, and he lied to my face about Johnny attacking him and running off. I knew that things would be worse if I called him out on it, so all I could do was sound my disappointment and let him baby-talk me like he always does. That's when I knew that I couldn't trust him anymore, the day he lied to my face." She was about to bang the table when Mikey placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Mavis, breathe! You're starting to scare the other customers. Your feelings are justified, but you were telling me how much you love this place. I wouldn't want you to be kicked out because of our date." He felt some of her tears hit his arm as her fangs slowly began to shrink back to normal.

"I… I'm sorry. It's just harder for me to talk about this than I thought." She took a moment to rub the tears from her eyes before taking a deep breath. "Anyway, I tried to live with the truth for a long time, but I couldn't look at his little speeches about 'humanity being the real monsters' the same way again. A few months ago I just couldn't take it anymore and wanted to be free of all the lies and all of the secrecy, so I found the right time and hid on the bottom of one of the carriages that take people to and from the hotel."

She gestured to the area around her with a small smile. "I actually ended up near here, which is how I discovered an entire street where monsters and humans who were in the know could coexist. Most of the monsters that coexist with humans here either can look human or can basically become human. The rest are monsters that can hide in plain sight. I started working at the apartment to save up money to do things both in the more human populated areas and here."

Mavis then placed her hand on Mikey's as she smiled. "I made a lot of friends while I was here, both human and monster. I've been able to see that not all humans are bad or want to see the destruction of all monsters. When I found out about the service, I felt like it was time to try taking matters into my own hands. I had some not so stellar dates before this one, though those were dates that couldn't look past the fact that I was a vampire."

Mikey did his best not to show any anger towards her past dates as he moved his arm back, allowing Mavis a moment to breathe. "So anyway, that's my story. I know my dad cares about me, but all of the lying and being unable to handle being at the hotel anymore... I honestly don't know if I can look at him the same way anymore." Mikey sent her a sad smile as he nodded his head.

"Well you did say he was like this because of what happened to your mother. Perhaps he just can't live with the thought of losing you forever. You're basically the only attachment he has left. Dads do a lot to keep their families safe, sometimes even stupid things. Um… just don't tell my dad I ever said that."

The boy could tell he recovered the mood a bit as Mavis chuckled at his bit. He placed a hand on her cheek as he smiled at her. "I guarantee you though that if he had the choice between having you and keeping his faults, he'd pick you every time. I'm not going to pretend that him lying to you like that is cool, but every living- and I guess non-living- thing makes mistakes. I only say non-living because I see a zombie over there eating tiny brains like popcorn chicken."

He couldn't help but irk a bit as said zombie grabbed another brain and popped it in its mouth. He was brought out of that moment by a hand being placed on his hand that was still on Mavis's cheek. The boy looked towards the girl, only to freeze at the look that she was giving him. It was like he could see a ring of sparkles spiral around her pupils. The duo began to lean closer to each other, only for the sound of someone clearing their throat to catch their attention.

"Mavis," began a voice. Mikey turned towards the owner of the voice, coming face to face with Dracula himself. Mavis also clearly turned towards the man as she let loose a gasp.

"Dad!?" cried the vampire girl. "I can explain everything. I…" Mikey quickly prepared himself, not sure whether he would be attacked or not. He was still a bit on edge as Dracula held up his palm to hush Mavis.

"May I speak with you outside? Please." Mikey looked towards his date, noticing the serious look on her face. He could tell she was trying to understand what exactly was going on herself as her brow was furrowed. He quickly gestured to the nearby waiter with a frown.

"We'll need to take these meals to go!" cried the blonde. It didn't take long for some form of to-go boxes to be fetched as the group made their way to the roof. It was clear that Dracula would rather have not had Mikey there, but the hidden turtle was not budging an inch. He made sure to give the man a look that showed his intention to fight if he tried anything untoward. Mavis took a deep breath as she had her hands at her sides.

"Dad, I'm sorry that I left without saying a word," apologized the Count's daughter. "I should have tried to talk with you about this from the start. I know I also worried everyone else, who are probably still looking around for me even to this day. I know you'll probably say something about me scratching some itch to see the world and…" Mikey watched Dracula look down as he held his hands in front of himself.

"I heard everything you said," revealed the head vampire. "I am sorry." Mavis suddenly looked up as she pointed to her father.

"See you're not listening again." Mikey looked on with widened eyes as his date began to pace back and forth. "I'm trying to explain why I ran away and what made me upset but all you can think about is…" Mavis suddenly stopped in place as she looked towards her father. "Say what?" Dracula looked up as he looked his daughter in the eye.

"I had entered the restaurant when you began your story. When I heard that your scent was caught here, I believed I would find you in a terrible situation that I could have prevented. Now I understand that the problem is not in this city, but within me. I should have been more trusting of your judgment and tried to reach an understanding. Instead I pushed you away in my attempts to keep you safe."

The Count stood straight as he looked down at his daughter. "Do not think that you will go unpunished for running off without so much as a word. You scared me so terribly that it was like a stake to the heart. You will also have to apologize to everyone who you worried with your absence. We will have to fly straight home as soon as this 'dating-service' hoopla is finished."

Mikey watched Mavis lower her head, only for her father to lift it back up with a smile. "Once we've sorted everything out, however, we can talk about this need of yours to see the world." Mikey could tell something good was happening as his date sent the man a hopeful smile.

"You promise? No lying or hypnotizing my dates to make them awful or anything?" Dracula chuckled as he shook his head.

"I promise on your mother's name. I may have given you no reason to trust my word alone at the moment, but I will never promise on her name if I do not mean it." It took only a moment for Mavis to hug her father, the man returning the embrace.

"Aw!" cooed Mikey in adoration. He watched the vampires look his way, Dracula giving him an annoyed look while Mavis sent him a small smirk. The boy quickly stood straight as he held his hands behind his back. "And I just ruined the moment, didn't I? My bad Count D."

Dracula quickly gave his daughter a judgmental look. It was clear they were whispering to each other, though it was at a tone the boy could not understand. Dracula rolled his eyes with a small smirk as he looked away.

"Five minutes. I wish to make sure this apartment you have been living in is not taking advantage of you." Mikey watched Mavis chuckle as her father finally let her go. She walked towards him, the way she walked honestly catching Mikey's attention. He quickly shook his head to regain his composure as his date stood before him.

"So, this date went by pretty fast," commented the vampire. "Sorry it had to end like this." Mikey quickly waved the girl off as he sounded his dismissal.

"It was still pretty fun, especially seeing a part of New York that I've never seen before," reassured the blonde. He held up their to-go boxes with a smirk. "I made sure to get everything packed up just in case." Mavis quickly took her meal from him, a small smile on her face. That smile turned into a smirk as she leaned a bit closer.

"We could always end off the night with what we were about to do earlier. I believe we were about to kiss." Mikey returned her smirk as he leaned closer to her.

"I don't remember that. Maybe you should remind me." The duo inched closer, their eyes still glued to each other. Mikey was about to close his eyes when a roar caught his attention. He leapt back a few feet as he turned into turtle mode, watching as it was Dracula that was roaring at them.

"DAD! Come on!" Dracula quickly realized his daughter's annoyed look as he ceased his roaring, quickly clearing his throat.

"Sorry! I just have to get used to you kissing. Just please, no lips until this whole service thing is done please. Other than that just go back to what you were doing." Mikey watched Mavis roll her eyes as he turned back into his regular form.

"Sorry about that. Like I said, overprotective." This caused Mikey to chuckle as he shook his head.

"It's fine. He just cares a lot about you. I guess it's just… see ya later then. Gosh that sounds so awkward." This earned him a chuckle from Mavis as she nodded her head.

"Yeah." His date suddenly kissed him on the cheek, leaving black lipstick on the area. "See you later." With that, Mavis and her father quickly transformed into bats as they flew off back towards her apartment. Mikey touched the area with a small smile, only to jolt as he heard a familiar battle cry.

"Don't worry Mikey!" cried Leo. "We're here now!" The blonde looked to his right to see his brothers decked out in several different kinds of weaponry, wooden stakes and cloves of garlic held in their belts. "If Dracula tries to hurt you we'll…" The trio stood in silence as Mikey stood by himself. Raph groaned as he shoved the wooden cross he was holding into his belt.

"They talked it out and just left, didn't they?" questioned Raph. Mikey couldn't help it anymore and burst out laughing. This caused the hothead of the group to turn towards Donnie with a growl. "I guess that means it's good that SOMEONE took too long looking at a Halloween costume and imagining April in it." Donnie turned towards Raph with a very audible growl.

"Well excuse me if I just happen to love the idea of April dressed up as a princess!" cried the genius. "I didn't see you being any better when you saw that one adult women's costume." A fight was about to break out when Leo held his hands up.

"Enough!" cried Leo. "Knock it off you two!" The duo huffed at each other before looking away, causing Leo to groan as he rubbed his temples. "You mind telling us what happened, Mikey?" The blonde of the quartet smirked as he took a few steps backwards.

"We'll talk about it at home," offered Mikey. "We don't got all night. Race ya!" The boy quickly ran down the side of the building, doing his best to open up the manhole cover. His brothers popped beside him with the smoke bombs as he lifted it up. All four of them leapt into the manhole at once, entering the sewers as the cover closed behind them.
