Welcome back, everyone! This is SuperHeroTimeFan now returning to FanFiction for a brand-new chapter for my newest popular story for The Owl House and MegaMan NT Warrior, Owl House: NT Witch! I am so glad that this story has gotten so popular recently. It even has a TV Tropes page, and I am very happy that it is being added to as the story and art that I show off on DeviantArt continues. To be honest, when I did my last chapter, I wasn't too sure how doing three episodes as a single chapter was gonna work out, but I'm glad that it all worked out in the end. Special thanks to Cloud4012, my best friend, as well as reviewers like EvanderAdvent and Blackmetalzane22 for your critiques and encouragement for the work I am putting into this new story. Everything you asked will be addressed in this chapter, which is one that I am very pleased with planning out and writing out. Sp sit back, review, rate, and as always, please be sure to enjoy!
Chapter 3: I'm Gonna Let It Shine
Within the MagiNet, Azura was running, avoiding several blasts. Stopping and flipping over a crate in the way, she glared at several magically-enhanced Swordy and Mettaur viruses, which were soon joined by Billy viruses. Taking out her MagiBuster, she used the bazooka form to open fire on several of them. Some avoided the shots or were Deleted in the process.
"You can put it on hold if you need to," Luz said as Azura converted her MagiBuster into sword mode, closing her eyes as two clones of her magically appeared before all three charged, taking on the Swordys together. "King and I don't want to disrupt the viruses now that we've gotten them here in the Boiling Isles."
"No, it's okay, I can still do it," Azura said. "Remind me, though… where were you?"
"Um, let's see," King said in the real world as he, Luz and Eda were at a stand at the market. "'Emboldened by the dishonor Hecate had shown, Azura lifted her staff to the cotton-candy skies and shouted…'"
"I challenge you to a witch's duel!" Azura finished, slashing apart three Swordys as her clones did the same. "End quote. End Double Witch," she said, breaking character so that her clones could go back to her before holding up her staff. "Battle Chips, please."
"Spreader, Battle Chips In, Triple Download!" Luz called out, about to put five Spreaders in, before realizing what she was doing, and stopping at just three.
"HyperBurst!" Azura called out, gaining the HyperBurst over her MagiBuster. "Go shoot!"
The blasts spread all around, hitting each of the Viruses. As soon as they were Deleted, Azura turned back to the screen of Luz and King, with Eda not paying attention.
"And scene!"
"Don't go on, please," Eda said, retching in disgust. "That book is full of flowery offensive language, and it's driving away our customers."
"That would be offensive to us…" Luz started out before she and King looked to see the market empty. "If there were customers here to drive away."
"Wow, this place is as empty as Odalia when she tried to audition for that no-star musical. Best day of our lives when she got pelted by gorematoes," Eda said, noticing everything around them for the first time before a tumbleweed passed them. Looking to it in awkward silence, she turned back to Luz and King. "Let's head back and try to figure out your new virus problem before—"
"Luz!"
"Too late, the tax collectors are here." Eda sighed.
"No, it's my friends!" Luz exclaimed, seeing Willow, Gus and Skara making their way over. "How are all of you?" she asked as the holographic screen of Azura turned to face the three as well.
"Doing great now that I'm in the Plant Track!" Willow replied. "But that's not why we were here."
"There's something going on today, and we felt you might want to join in." Skara said, handing Luz a flyer.
"I'm seeing a typo here. There's supposed to be an n there, isn't there?" Azura asked as Luz looked to the flyer.
"Yeah, a Covention?" Luz asked.
"No, it's spelled right," Gus said. "Student witches get to see all the different covens before they're placed in one. We've even got a surprise guest showing up this year!"
"Ooh, a new way to explore this place even more!" Luz said in astonishment. "It might even help to take our mind off the newer virus attacks."
"They've kept coming?" Skara asked. "But I thought the one at school was the only one."
"Wait, it happened at Hexside too?" Eda asked, turning to face the kids.
"Right, I forgot to tell you when you grabbed me and ran off," Luz said. "When I got to Hexside with Willow and Skara, we were attacked by viruses, and someone who I can only assume to be the first NetNavi born here behind it all."
"If you told me that first, I could've helped." Eda said.
"Sorry, slipped my mind with your… problem and all." Luz said.
"Plus, I really want to give my new PET a go." Eda added on, summoning her Scroll PET, now with wings as it floated next to her.
"Whoa, is that a new model?" Willow asked.
"Sorta, I made it from Eda's scroll," Luz said. "I can make some for you too, if you still want your own NetNavis."
"I say go for it. Takes you away from a place that twists your mind for their corrupted system." Eda said.
"As flattered as I am for the offer to hang out with my new friends… you really don't like what this Covention has to offer." Luz noticed.
"Well, I don't judge your friends, but I wouldn't go even if I didn't have any other choice," Eda said. "Besides we haven't been to one since we were kids." She muttered, but Luz and Azura both heard it.
"'We'?" Luz asked.
"Sounds like you've got a mysterious past there, Eda," Azura said. "And it's our job to get behind it!"
"No, and there's nothing you can do to make me say otherwise. I wouldn't even do it if the Emperor himself offered me all the snails in the realm." Eda remarked.
"Oh, King…" Luz said as she and Azura both shared devious smiles.
With that, King took out the book of The Good Witch Azura, and started to read.
"'You shall not shan't doeth no more harm', Azura callethed out…" King started as Eda looked on in blank horror.
"So flowery, so awful…" Eda said, taking out the portal and opening the door.
"'All in the tongue of her foe most formidable. Hecate could only screech. Screecheth, could she, for the screeching did worseneth…"
Eda walked through the portal door, but Luz picked up King and tossed him through just as the door closed. Not even a single second later, Eda reemerged, now with King on her head with a microphone connected to earbuds directly on her ears.
"Stop it! Stop it! I will do anything, just stop this!" Eda begged as King continued to read, though the loudness thanks to the new microphone he found was making Eda slowly start to cry.
Half an hour later, Luz now stood with Willow, Gus and Skara outside of a building where the Covention was held, with Eda wearing a cloak that concealed her hair, letting out a sigh of exasperation. She tried to adjust her hair back into place, but almost fell back.
"Is the cowl really necessary?" Azura asked.
"Seriously, I know a way you can put this into the MagiNet, and I can easily get it back later." Luz said, pushing back.
"I'm wanted for a lot more than petty burglary," Eda said before her cowl collapsed, causing several items, including what appeared to be a LEGO figure resembling her, a cannon shell, a kilo of napalm and a broken box that revealed another broken box with a flea flying out of it, to drop out. "One moment," she said, casually picking everything up to put back, including the shell and napalm, which Luz almost backed away from in a panic, while letting the flea fly into a bulb and short out. "I'm wanted for never joining any of the covens, so if I'm busted, you're without a teacher, and I'm without parole… again."
"I do not need to hear another confession from a simping guard again." Luz said, recoiling from the confession of Warden Wrath.
"Maybe the Covention will change your mind?" Willow suggested, showing Eda her wanted poster.
Annoyed, Eda just spun a spell circle that turned the poster into a large empty egg shell that dumped onto her head.
"Let's just get this over with." Eda said, walking ahead.
"Hmm, this seems uncomfortably familiar…" Willow said as Gus and Skara walked over to pry the shell off.
"No more egg pits!" Skara protested.
From a dark corner nearby, a bat was watching.
"The most powerful of the realm are all here… this will be too easy."
"And those are only the minor covens," Willow said later on, leading Luz down a hall with stands, where several Hexside students were checking them out. Some of them noticed Luz and waved, to which she waved back. "The ones we're here for are the main nine."
"Wait, there's Tiny Nose!" Azura said, getting Luz to look to see the nose-shaped demon at a stand where people were wearing hard hats. "I was wondering how she escaped torture from the Conformatorium."
Tiny Nose was given a slip of paper, one that seemed to resemble the glyph that Luz had drawn when she discovered the light spell. Once placed onto her head, she let out a roar before throwing one of the hard hat witches into a table.
"I am the destroyer of worlds!" Tiny Nose yelled, causing the other hard hat witches to go after her.
"That's the Construction Coven," Willow explained. "And what she was doing… total opposite of construction."
"Blow me down!" Luz exclaimed.
"Blow me down!"
"Did I hear an echo?" Luz asked, turning to see a double of her. The double smiled and waved at her before disappearing into blue smoke, where two students with the same blue sleeves and pants as Gus were. Recognizing Luz, the two waved at her.
"I see you've been taken in by the Illusion Coven," Gus said, creating an illusion of Azura, getting Luz to smile in amazement, before an illusion of Luz joined him and the two, all striking a pose together. "We are professionals that do magic with a hint… of showmanship." He said before all three snapped their fingers, getting the illusions to disappear.
"Oh, like this?" Luz asked, slotting in the Invisible Battle Chip into the Battle Chip Gate. As soon as she vanished, Gus and the two Illusion students gasped before she reappeared behind two green-haired students with the illusion colors examining some stands. The two jumped at a sudden feeling before walking away, causing Luz to giggle as Eda came back over.
"What was…?" Gus asked.
"An Invisible Battle Chip," Azura said, appearing in Gus's Scroll as he summoned it after hearing it go off. "We'll show you all once you get your own NetNavis and new PETs."
"I'm sensing there's a downside to all this, as usual?" Luz asked, turning visible again as she saw Eda's glum expression.
"Take a gander," Eda said, gesturing to a young illusionist who was getting a sigil on his arm. Blue lines went up his arm and to his face, getting him to pale from the smile he once had. "Once anyone is given a Coven Sigil, they're restricted to doing that certain kind of magic only. No others."
"That's terrible!" Luz exclaimed. "At least element-specific Navis back in my world know how to use other Chips outside of their attributes. This gives a major disadvantage."
"I never joined a coven, so I can do all magic," Eda said, making a fireball in one hand and a ball of water in the other before making both disappear. "That's why I'm the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles."
"Well, I guess I can withdraw any requests to join the tiniest witch coven." Azura said.
"Listen to AZ, kid. Consider your choices." Eda said.
"Look, it's the Emperor's Coven!" Gus called out, getting Eda's eyes to widen as she covered her face. "You think they'll sign my forehead?"
"Or my body pillow?" Skara asked, getting Luz, Willow and Gus to look at her strangely. "For, you know… the handsome demon that likes to serenade me each time he stops by my house. The one who's definitely real."
"Let's find out, I guess," Willow said, leading Gus and Skara inside. "Come on, Luz!"
"You know, Eda, I agree with you." Luz said, walking in as Eda noticed someone looking at her strangely.
"You do?" Eda asked, surprised.
"No one should have to be restricted. It would be total anarchy back in my world if this was applied there. That's why I'm glad you're my teacher." Luz said before walking in.
"Nice kid." Eda commented before following after a guard turned to look at her.
Inside of the room that Luz had entered, she saw a banner that had a symbol of a pyramid with a sword stabbed in the middle, and two wings on the sides. The room in question was some sort of arena, with a stage at the front.
"Look at this place!" Azura exclaimed as Luz looked around, unaware that a certain female witch with green hair that she met two days before had heard her NetNavi's voice. "Gives off the same kinds of vibes that the NetBattle Arena and the N1 Grand Prix have, huh?"
"Yeah, it does," Luz replied before turning, just as the girl turned back. However, she recognized her, just as Eda sat down. "Amity?"
The lights dimmed before Eda could ask Luz anything. Soon, Principal Bump emerged, arms held behind his back, as a winged microphone flew above him.
"Hello, Bonesborough!" Principal Bump announced, getting everyone cheering to settle down. He looked to see Luz and smiled before turning back to everyone else. "Students come and ask me, 'Principal Bump, what is the height of magical achievement?'"
"Is it this?!" a Construction Track student asked, using a spell circle to make his head big. Unfortunately, the head made him unbalanced, and he toppled over on top of another student next to him, squashing him.
Principal Bump blinked and grimaced at the sight. "Wow, I failed you as a principal," he remarked before grabbing the microphone. "It's being selected to join the Emperor's Coven, the best of the best. They are the jewels of the Boiling Isles, the elite that stands for us all, each handpicked to ensure the future of magic for us all." He said, showing off three guards with spears, who all posed menacingly.
"You took out more than those three when we first met." Eda whispered.
"And I could take out even more if they tried to attack us again." Luz whispered back playfully, getting her to laugh for a while.
"Some day, these elite can be one of you!" Principal Bump went on, pointing to a random direction in the audience, which happened to be at Amity. The green-haired witch brightened and squealed at this, something which Azura seemed to notice.
"She might have a future," Azura commented. "But is it really the one that she wants?"
"And now, it pleases me to introduce our surprise guest! The esteemed leader of the Emperor's Coven. You know her, you adore her, so here she is…" Principal Bump announced before a white raven flew in, made of pure magic. It landed on the ground and turned into a witch with dark hair and clothing, as well as the same pale skin that Eda had. Over her face was a bird-shaped mask, which she removed to reveal a face, one with mint green eyes and black lipstick.
"Coven Head Lilith!"
"Huh?" Eda asked, now no longer laughing.
"You know her?" Luz asked.
"You can say that…" Eda whispered as King snuggled close to Luz.
"Thank you for coming here today," Lilith announced as Luz watched on with interest. She saw Gus, Willow and Skara in another seat across, the former with his forehead actually autographed as both girls pointed to his forehead. She smiled and sent a thumbs-up before turning back. "It wasn't easy for me to rise through the ranks. I also started from humble beginnings, just like the rest of you. Continue to work your way through the ranks of your lives, and you too can enforce the will of the Emperor, just as I do to this very day," she went on, showing off an Imperial Coven sigil on her right arm. "So be more than what you are! The Emperor's Coven awaits you!"
"That's it, I'm out of here," Eda said, standing up. "See you at home, Luz."
"Something really doesn't sit well with her about Lilith," Azura noted as the presentation came to an end. "And I think we're best off not knowing about it for the time being, Luz."
"Family problems, I've seen it before," Luz said, walking down, placing on one of her cyber contacts to talk to Azura face to face. "But the way Eda was looking at her… I think there's more to it… I might even have a theory about—"
"Hey!"
Luz stopped, almost bumping into Amity, who turned back with an annoyed look on her face.
"I thought I saw you. The human." Amity said with a scowl.
"My name's Luz, thin-mint." Luz spat.
"I don't care. Humans like you don't belong here," Amity spat back. "This place is for those with magic, not those without."
"Then I suppose that means where I'm supposed to be," Luz said. "Eda the Owl Lady mentors me, and I've never let any wannabe bully tell me where I do or don't belong."
"Um, Luz…?" King asked, walking up to Luz behind her to see what was going on.
"And what is he? A pet of some sort?" Amity asked with a bit of amusement in her voice.
"I'm not a pet!" King exclaimed.
"You can say what you want about me, but when it comes to demeaning my friends, you've got another thing coming," Luz said. "If you knew half of the things I've accomplished to ensure peace on my own terms in my world, you'd be wise to back off."
"How about you put your money where your mouth is before you go acting all high and mighty?" Amity spat.
"If that's not the pot calling the kettle black," Luz said. "But I agree. Let's see if you can back up what you say too."
"Which is?"
"A duel," Luz said as several other people nearby took notice of the confrontation. "Amity Blight, I challenge you to a duel!"
Everyone gasped, word of the news starting to spread like fire.
"I accept," Amity said with a smug amused smirk. "And what are the terms?"
"You have a way to enforce them?" Luz asked.
Amity held up a hand, letting a spell circle form over it. "Name your terms, and we shake on an Everlasting Oath," she said. "That way, none of us can back out if one or the other comes out on top, so speak your terms."
"If I win, I have three things."
"Name them."
"One, apologize," Luz said. "Two, you be nicer," she went on, getting Amity's eye to twitch with each term. "And three… I know what you and another known as Boscha say about my new friend, Willow Park. My third term is that if I win, you and everyone else in the Demon Realm stop calling Willow a half-a-witch. Not even in whispers, thoughts and dreams!"
"Um, Luz? You don't really have to do that…" Willow said as she, Gus and Skara watched nearby.
"That's four." Amity said.
"The last one was a two-part." Luz remarked.
Nearby, a girl with three eyes, wearing yellow Potions Track colors, fainted upon hearing the third term.
Amity narrowed her eyes at Luz before holding her hand out. "And if I win, you give up on magic and admit that you are not a witch… to everyone."
Luz nodded and shook Amity's hand as the Everlasting Oath took effect. "Name the time and place."
"The arena, in one hour." Amity said before walking off in a way that looked like she owned the place.
"Us against a witch?" Azura asked as Luz stepped back, turning around to pat King on the head. "She's no Eda. This will be easy."
"Let's go get Eda before she leaves," Luz said. "Now that you brought her up, I really don't want her to miss out on this."
"And neither do I," ShadeMan said, watching from above. He grinned as he looked to the two before AreaStealing, now overseeing Eda and Lilith as several kids walked away from them. He narrowed his eyes on Lilith. "One way or another… I will get the power that I seek, and the crowd to present myself to."
"Why are you even here?" Lilith asked. "You're wanted, a criminal. You wouldn't have a reason, unless…"
"No, I'm still never joining your cult," Eda said before looking to Lilith's arm. "Free magic shouldn't be shown by a fancy tattoo. We used to be above that."
"It's better than being coven-less… a degenerate," Lilith spat. "I teach the next generation, turning them into powerful witch students to bring into the world."
"So am I," Eda said as she saw Luz and King walking over. "And let me tell you from experience. She's far more talented, skilled and smart than anyone you've mentored since the last time we've met."
"Don't make me blush, Eda," Luz said, causing Lilith to turn and look at Luz as she made her way over. "Like, seriously, please don't make me blush."
"You're teaching a human?" Lilith asked humorously with a chuckle. "You know they can't do magic."
"This human also saved Hexside two days ago from a force that not even teachers could fend off," Luz said. "I'd be careful with how I act, Miss Lilith."
"Okay, Luz. Don't get too cocky," Eda said. "What's going on?"
"I've challenged Amity Blight to a duel."
"Fate favors the destined today, it seems," Lilith said. "A demonstration of what my student has to offer against yours… it will make everyone see the difference between Wild Magic and the Emperor's Coven, Edalyn."
"Believe me, Lily, Miss Perfect will need all the help she can get," Eda said. "Luz is far more powerful than you know."
"We shall see," Lilith said, snapping her fingers. All around, every wanted poster of Eda turned to ash. "For this day, you won't have to hide. I want to see what your student is really capable of." She said before walking away with a stern expression.
"Well, that could have gone better," Luz said before turning to Eda. She gestured for her to get down to her level, which she did. As soon as she was face to face, she looked to her necklace. "Hmm, more progress," she said as Eda took out her Scroll PET, which she also took a look at. "Minor changes to your new NetNavi, but given how I was able to come up with a way to convert the magic of the curse into new Navi data, I'm not too surprised."
"You need anything from me for all this?" Eda asked.
"I should be good," Luz said before giving Eda a case. "You dropped this when we were carrying you to your room the night your beast awoke. I don't know why or how you found a Chip Case from the days of the Plug-In PET and World Three, but I put some useful Battle Chips in there."
"How did Odalia get this?" Eda asked, looking to the case, the same one she remembered getting from Odalia years ago. "Anyways, thanks," she said before suddenly seeing Luz scanning her with her PET. "What's this?"
"As I thought, a high Synchro Rating."
"Is that for CrossFusion?" Eda asked.
"Yeah. It determines the bond between NetOp and NetNavi. Ever since I came here, the energy in this place radiates the same as the Cyberworld and any Dimensional Area. It must be why I was able to CrossFuse, or why the Viruses appeared at Hexside," Luz said. "But we can look more into that later. For now, I've got a million strategies in mind thanks to seeing Amity work her magic before today, and we should probably get ready."
"Whatever you need, I'm there," Eda said as ShadeMan continued to watch with interest. "You, Azura and King are the best things that have ever happened to me in my cursed life, and I'm not about to see any of you suffer."
"That is the most powerful Witch on the Boiling Isles?" ShadeMan asked. He let out a scoff. "Let's see what you really are capable of when my time comes," he said as GrandeurMan appeared. "GrandeurMan, I have a job for you."
"What is thy bidding?" GrandeurMan asked.
"Recruit one more Darkloid, among the others you have gained in the past few days," ShadeMan said. "And in the aftermath of what I am about to do following this witch's duel, collect the power boost that radiates from the sister of the Owl Lady. It will help us greatly."
"Yes, my Master." GrandeurMan said before teleporting away.
"Your time to witness me approaches. It won't be long now."
Soon, everyone was back in the arena, all crowded and waiting for what was about to unfold. While Lilith and Amity were on one side, Luz and Eda were on the other, the former taking a look at Amity while remembering the way she performed magic when she saw her with Willow and Skara.
"Abominations. The substance is like water, so better add some electricity to this," Luz said to herself, placing in an electric Battle Chip. "And a little karma to let her magic backfire on her," she went on, placing in an AntiWater Battle Chip. "These two for good measure…" she continued, placing in two more Battle Chips before reaching for her BambooSword Battle Chip. "Last one." She said, deciding to put it in. As soon as she placed all five Battle Chips into her PET, it pinged, alerting her that she had reached the maximum amount, before getting her Synchro Chip ready.
"Got what you needed?" Eda asked.
"Yeah," Luz said with a nod before seeing Lilith step out with Amity. She and Eda followed afterwards while handing her Battle Chip Gate to her. "You have the rating. If I need help, go and use that." She instructed before reaching Amity.
"People of the Boiling Isles, the Emperor's Coven is proud to present to you a demonstration of their power, courtesy of my student," Lilith said. "Introducing Amity Blight!"
Everyone cheered for Amity as she smiled smugly all around. Luz chuckled in an impressed way before Lilith gestured to her.
"…versus some human girl."
It was then that murmurs started to spread, much to the discomfort of Willow, Gus and Skara.
"A Human?"
"Humans can't do magic!"
"She's not Amity!"
"Go and kick Lil' Miss Perfect's perfect butt." Eda said, retreating to the stands while Luz simply stood focused on Amity as Lilith did the same.
Looking up, Luz saw the bell, which screamed from the mouth it had on her. While still surprising to her, Luz did not let it bother her as Amity made a large spell circle, causing a giant Abomination Creature to rise up.
"Whoa!" Amity said to herself in surprise before regaining her smug demeanor and turning back to Luz. "Show me what you've got, Human!" she taunted.
"Gladly!" Luz replied. Holding out her Synchro Chip, she placed it out before taking out her PET. "Synchro Chip In, Download!" she called out as the summoned Abomination tore off its own head and threw it at her.
"Begin CrossFusion…"
Pausing, Luz pulled back her fist and punched the tossed head, causing it to splatter in an explosion, now floating around her as her PET hovered before her, reformatting itself.
"Now."
Everyone watched in astonishment at the light. Still grinning, Luz let Azura's armor manifest itself onto her outstretched arm as at the same time, her left arm started to gain her same gauntlets. Spreading them out, Azura's boots appeared over her legs, right as a purple over-shield appeared over her top chest. On her back, a set of two stars split in half appeared, acting as a pack for her, before she crossed her arms, allowing her Navi Crest to form and place itself on the center of her chest. As soon as it did, she spun around, her black bodysuit appearing beneath. She turned around and grinned, Azura's hat appearing over her head, followed by the sides of her helmet forming and placing a plate over her mouth. Holding out her right hand, the MagiBuster appeared, which she spun around before finishing her CrossFusion, staff held behind her, her left arm clenched in a fist facing up, and her left leg crossed behind her right.
Now with her CrossFusion completed, Luz aimed her MagiBuster at Amity, who gaped at her appearance.
"What the—?!" Amity exclaimed. "What happened?"
"I'm showing you what I've got," Luz replied. "Isn't that what you wanted?"
"Wait, did Luz just become Azura?" Willow asked.
"I know that some Construction Magic gives witches temporary armor, but I've never seen anything like that!" Skara exclaimed.
"She just keeps making my interest in humans better and better!" Gus squealed.
"Right for the punch," Eda said while next to her, Lilith stood in complete shock. "Luz has really planned this out. Just hope she doesn't hurt Little Miss Perfect too much."
"How… how is this possible?!" Lilith whispered to herself.
"Abominations, attack!" Amity commanded, recomposing herself and using the splattered Abomination Goo to create smaller versions while the larger one grew a new head and slammed its fists onto Luz.
Luz leapt back at just the right moment and went into the air. There, she held her MagiBuster in blaster mode.
"Magi Bolts!" Luz called out, sending forth several targeted blasts that each went after the smaller Abominations. As they went down, she twirled off of the big one, going for Amity. "Magi Sword!" she announced, summoning a blade from the end of the staff as she went in for an attack.
Amity looked up before holding out her left hand to summon some Abomination goo. It soon turned into a blade that covered her arm before using it to block Luz's blade.
Everyone watched as Luz and Amity engaged in a blade-lock. The two pressed against each other to gain momentum before Luz leapt back, where she sent out a sonic slash at the large Abomination, which splattered on the ground. Looking to all the remains of the other Abominations, Luz saw a trail leading back to Amity. Getting an idea, she spread her arms out.
"Rainy Day, Battle Chip In!" Luz called out.
"What rainy day?" Willow asked. "We're indoors!"
"Wait, but that Battle Chip only works to turn any element into…" King started out before realizing something.
Amity watched as clouds appeared over her and Luz. They rained down, and she saw that the Abomination Goo turned to a different liquid substance. Some of it wrapped around her feet before Luz held out the MagiBuster into the air.
"ElectroSword, Battle Chip In!"
Everyone watched as the blade of the MagiBuster turned into a crackling blade with lightning surrounding it. Luz stabbed it down onto one of the former Abomination puddles, and it created sparks that all headed towards Amity.
Amity gasped, but before she could cast a spell to counter, she was blown back, and landed against the wall.
"Ready to give up?" Luz asked.
"Abominations, counterattack!"
Luz watched as more Abominations arose, letting out a sigh.
"AntiWater, Battle Chip In!" Luz called out.
"You sure this'll work?" Azura asked.
"Rainy Day did more than just change the Abomination slime into a new substance." Luz reassured.
"Come on, Kid," Eda said as Lilith tapped her finger against her seat anxiously. "What are you planning?"
As the Abominations still formed, they suddenly exploded. Amity gasped as they flooded towards her as a wave, sending her into the air.
"AirShoes, Battle Chip In!" Luz called out. As soon as the AirShoes came to her, she jetted up and met Amity, who had recovered.
Amity yelled and slashed at Luz, who clashed with her, still using the ElectroSword as the two floated around, slowly falling back down. Everyone looked up with awe as the two clashed endlessly, seeming to be able to counter each others' moves perfectly before engaging in a blade-lock.
"You're not a witch!" Amity snarled.
"Let those words keep coming," Luz said as the ElectroSword disappeared, now forming on her left hand. Amity gasped as she focused her attention to Luz's left side, but was kicked down, where she created an Abomination hand to catch her. "I'm never gonna let anyone take me down. No matter what, I'll rise to achieve the dreams I have, and show everyone who doubted me wrong!" she proclaimed as she and Azura synchronized, just like they did when facing Warden Wrath.
"That is our promise!"
"BambooSword, Battle Chip In!" Luz called out, now summoning the BambooSword over her MagiBuster, the gem turning from blue to green. Swinging it down with her ElectroSword, she charged forward.
Amity gasped once more and sent forth another large Abomination, but Luz slashed it apart, surprising her as she got ready to attack with her own blade, which was chipped away from the damage it took.
Luz yelled as she cut through several more Abominations, eventually reaching Amity to slam her swords against hers. "This is for Willow!" she yelled, slashing apart the blade before slashing her back. "This is for King!" she went on before AreaStealing at her, both blades pulled back. "And this is for me!"
With that, Luz slammed Amity back, sending her flying before hitting the ground, her Abomination Blade melting as Luz landed in front of her, aiming her blades at her.
"Now, you can remain who you are, and fall on this path, or you can make a new one where you decide your destiny," Luz said before dismissing her ElectroSword. She placed her still-active BambooSword MagiBuster in her left hand as she held out her right to Amity. "I've made my choice. What is yours?"
Amity looked to Luz in surprise. This girl was fighting for so much more than herself, and after all she had said to her, she was still willing to show friendship. Taking a deep breath, she accepted Luz's hand.
"I yield."
Everyone who was skeptical about the turn of events was in shock. Before, they were rooting for Amity, but upon seeing Luz defeat her, they were stunned. Eventually, they cheered at the outcome as Luz helped Amity back up onto her feet.
However, the same three-eyed girl had tears forming in her eyes before she slammed her face against the seat rest in front of her, pounding her fist before she cried hysterically.
'Her hand feels so soft, even with that familiar armor', Amity thought as Luz held their connected hands up, causing the crowd to cheer even more. 'And that smile…' she continued to think as she saw Luz smiling. 'It makes me feel so… warm inside.'
Eda and King stood up to applaud, while Lilith clenched the hem of her dress. She was about to say something to everyone until a bat suddenly flew in.
"What?" Gus asked as more bats flew in, seeming to come out of nowhere.
Luz and Amity looked to all the bats before the former's eyes widened to see them all digitizing into the place before they started to fly.
"What's going on here?" Azura asked.
"Wait, I've seen this before," Luz said as Amity turned to her. Her eyes widened more as she saw all the bats swarm together, now seeming to cover what appeared to be a body. "It can't be!"
"But it can…"
Everyone watched before the bats spread, revealing ShadeMan underneath them all. They all gasped before a Dark Chip appeared in front of him, glowing with gold lightning around it.
Eda, King and Lilith all gasped before the latter noticed that her sigil was sizzling. Yelling in pain, she grasped her hand as the gold lightning struck her sigil. ShadeMan only smirked as a full minute passed. As soon as it did, he grabbed the new Dark Chip and activated it, now with the sigil of the Emperor's Coven on it. A dark gold aura surrounded him, and Luz could only watch in horror as the familiar face of darkness appeared over him before it subsided.
"So, this is the Demon Realm?" ShadeMan asked, opening his eyes to look at every witch and demon present, with the Coven Guards trembling at what had happened. "So much potential. So much power!"
"You!" Luz exclaimed, walking forward and aiming out her MagiBuster. "How are you here?! I saw Dr. Regal tear you apart!"
"You are the human here… Luz Noceda," ShadeMan said. "Yes, I did fall at Dr. Regal's cowardly human hands, but what no one knew was that I anticipated my fall before that confrontation. I backed my data into several servers, including one near Gravesfield… specifically where you entered the Demon Realm."
"You entered behind us?" Azura asked from the MagiNet.
"I was in a world unfamiliar to me, and without a Darkloid by my side," ShadeMan confirmed. "I spent the past few days rebuilding myself and researching everything about this new dimension. So I began anew, and after creating a new Palace of Darkness, I took every Dark Chip used to corrupt my former Darkloids, purged them of all that eroded and killed them, and imbued them with the power of the Demon Realm and her many Covens!"
"New Darkloids with the powers of the Covens…" Luz said, the implications hitting her with terror.
"GrandeurMan's attack was only the start of the new Darkloids," ShadeMan said, causing Willow and Skara to gasp, remembering the figure who had seen them from the Virus Attack at Hexside. "When I heard from him that the strongest of witches and demons would be at this auspicious occasion, I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to reveal myself… as the newborn Leader of all Darkloids! And the new ruler of this Demon Realm for the Darkloids to thrive under!"
"Not happening!" Luz remarked, running at ShadeMan. She leapt up and brought the BambooSword down onto him, but he caught it, much to her surprise and the surprise of others.
"The sword didn't even touch him!" Amity exclaimed.
"Too easy!" ShadeMan remarked, throwing Luz back, where she landed on the ground.
"Luz, he's got the power of an Imperial Coven sigil flowing through him, and that was our last Battle Chip!" Azura exclaimed as Luz got back up. "We can eject and reload, but what Battle Chips do we have that can even take down the Darkloid Leader?"
"How would we even fight him to begin with?" Luz asked before ShadeMan flew at her, causing her to gasp. "Magic Aura!" she called out, creating an aura around her that protected her from a claw swipe from ShadeMan, only to get knocked back.
"Luz!" Willow yelled, leaping down from her seat to get into the ring.
"Hang on!" Gus called out, going down as well.
"We're coming!" Skara yelled, following after.
"Well, the match is over anyways." King said, preparing to go down and give ShadeMan a piece of his mind.
"Hold it," Eda said. "That vamp is going after my student. Check on Lily here. I'll be right back." She instructed.
King nodded before Eda leapt down, taking out her staff, as he went to check on Lilith. As Eda went down, she reached down to her pocket to pull out the Battle Chip Gate too.
ShadeMan grinned as he approached Luz, still struggling to get back up. "You've got some spirit, human, but I'll be deciding the end of the story from here!" he proclaimed, forming a blade from his hand before swinging it down.
Luz gasped and shielded herself, only to hear the blade colliding with something else. Looking up, she saw Amity recreated the Abomination Blade she had used in the battle, and was blocking ShadeMan's attack.
"Amity!" Luz exclaimed, both in joy and surprise. Mostly with surprise.
"You want some too?!" ShadeMan snarled, but Amity only pushed him back before using more Abomination slime to attack him.
"Luz, are you okay?" Amity asked as she helped Luz back up.
"Yeah, thanks," Luz said before turning back to ShadeMan. "We've gotta take him down here, or else this will be a very dark day!" she exclaimed, running back to the fight, with Amity right behind her.
Soon, Eda flew down, followed by Willow, Gus and Skara landing beside her, just as Luz and Amity ran up front and center.
"The odds don't look too good for you, man." Gus said, creating spell circles with Willow and Skara.
"It doesn't matter how many of you there are! I will still prevail!" ShadeMan yelled before spreading his arms out. "Noise Crush!" he called out, sending forth a large sonic wave.
Everyone in the audience gasped as small explosions went off nearby them. Skara looked to see others covering their ears before she took a deep breath and screeched, her arms spread out as well. Several red energy waves came out from her mouth and collided with the Noise Crush, both attacks cancelling each other out.
"Let's try this," Eda said, taking out a Battle Chip and placing it into the Battle Chip Gate. "Sensor, Battle Chip In, Download!"
A KillerEye Virus was summoned, and locked onto ShadeMan. It blinked a bit before shooting a beam at him, causing him to cover himself with his arms.
"Get out of here!" Willow yelled, summoning vines to lash out at ShadeMan while he was still shielding himself.
The vines all went for impalement, but ShadeMan flew over them, even as they still tried to attack him. Flying back down, he aimed at Willow, only for her to disappear into blue smoke as soon as he hit the ground.
"I've had enough of holograms… no, not a hologram," ShadeMan said as he saw Willow now with Gus, with his own spell circles made. "A magic illusion!"
"Try this!" Eda called out, creating a large spell circle. A blast of fire was sent out from it, sending ShadeMan back before she looked to Luz. "You ready for our first team fight?" she asked.
"Send me the Chips!" Luz replied, nodding eagerly as she held out her MagiBuster.
"MegaCannon, Battle Chip In, Download!"
Luz held out the MagiBuster in bazooka mode and aimed it at ShadeMan, firing without a second thought. He zoomed around as she continued to aim around before Skara sent several magic blasts at him.
"SuperVulcan, Battle Chip In, Download!"
Luz took the MagiBuster off of her shoulder and held it like a Gatling Gun. Letting the SuperVulcan appear in place of the MegaCannon, she let out rapid blasts at ShadeMan, who covered himself again before Amity charged in on an Abomination Goo wave. She flew down and slammed her blade on him, but just like before, he grabbed it, now pulling the young Blight in closer towards him.
"Stop getting in my way, you witch!" ShadeMan snarled.
"You first, freak!" Amity yelled, summoning an Abomination fist from the ground that knocked ShadeMan back.
"Eda, try another one!" Luz yelled.
"Get ready for this StepCross! Battle—"
Eda hardly had time to finish when several bats flew at her, forcing her to drop the Battle Chip to fly to safety. Once in the air, she zoomed down at ShadeMan, but he only grinned as Amity kept the fist ready for another attack.
"Shade Hand!" ShadeMan called out, summoning a giant version of his clawed hand from the ground to knock Eda away.
"Edalyn!" Lilith called out, trying to run in to help, but groaned and stopped, still feeling the pain from before, with King grabbing on to help her.
"Let's play." ShadeMan said sinisterly as he readied the Shade Hand at Amity, whose fingers twitched as she kept the Abomination fist ready.
"Ladies first!" Amity quipped, sending forth the Abomination fist to attack, grabbing onto the Shade Hand immediately.
ShadeMan laughed and swiped his hand, getting the Shade Hand to push back until both hands were punching away at each other. Pulling back, he caused it to stab at the Abomination Fist, but before he could do anything else, Luz charged in again, now using the blade on her MagiBuster.
"You won't start a new empire while we're standing!" Luz proclaimed, slashing at ShadeMan. However, he kicked her back before sending the Shade Hand to attack her, knocking her back again, this time onto her back.
"Big Noise!" ShadeMan called out, sending several sonic attacks at Luz, causing her to fly back several times from each impact. She landed again, this time on her chest, and now struggled to stand.
"Stay away from her!" Skara called out, sending forth whistles as she formed spell circles around her wrists, each one cancelling out one Big Noise attack after the other.
"Gotta… take him… down…" Luz said, grabbing against the wall, barely being able to stand on her feet again.
"We've gotta be careful with what we do next, Luz," Azura said. "We've got no Battle Chips left with Eda out, and our energy is fading."
"We can't just give up!" Luz exclaimed, pushing herself to keep a better stance as everyone panted, the effort of magic they were using now putting a strain on them. "They're helping me. I won't let darkness take over again!"
Azura watched with awe before seeing the light glyph glow. "Um, Luz…?"
"Until the last breath… I fight!" Luz proclaimed, aiming out the MagiBuster once again.
At that moment, the light glyph shone immensely bright, causing Azura to cover her eyes before it spread.
Luz noticed the glow coming from her Navi Crest and gasped, looking at herself. Everyone in the crowd, even taking cover as the battle unfolded, which included King and Lilith, watched with awe as the light engulfed Luz. The damage she took started to slowly fade away before she spread her arms out, now reinvigorated with power. As soon as she did, the light around her flew onto her, now changing her.
"Whoa, what's happening?!" Luz exclaimed.
"Weh?!" King exclaimed in amazement.
"Come on, Kid…" Eda said.
"Luz…" Amity said in awe.
"What's this?!" ShadeMan demanded, before the light knocked him back, but still remained on his feet to watch what unfolded next.
Two golden rings appeared from Luz, circling around her as she closed her eyes, taking a deep calming breath. Before her, the MagiBuster floated around before her purple trim turned into a bright gold color. The helmet parts of her turned to a shining silver before two gold and bronze guns appeared in holsters at her sides. She opened up her eyes, the MagiBuster floating back into her hand, now with a golden orb to replace the blue. Grinning, she spread out her arms, letting the light now shine around her body, the Light Glyph appearing on the sides of her helmet.
"What?" ShadeMan asked as Luz landed, seeming to have a radiating presence to her. "Not a DoubleSoul… so what am I even looking at?"
"Luz?" Willow asked.
"She… she's… brighter?" King asked with uncertainty.
"What the—?" Luz asked, looking to herself. "Was that the light glyph? What happened? Why am I so shiny? And how did I recover so fast?" she asked, looking to herself front and back.
"I have a theory, but I can share it later," Azura said. "Right now, I'm looking at our stats, and we've got ten Battle Chips loaded! It includes that really strong Program Advance too, perfect for a vampire like ShadeMan!"
"Whatever happened, it will not save you!" ShadeMan yelled, flying at Luz.
Everyone prepared to attack, but Luz held her hand out. "I've got this." She said before letting out a golden shining blade from the MagiBuster. Swinging it out, she sent ShadeMan back, this time with parts of his wings sizzling.
"Impossible!" ShadeMan exclaimed in shock.
"I know which Battle Chips I've got… why do I know when I didn't even put them in?" Luz asked as she dismissed her MagiBuster for the two guns. Aiming them out, they turned into SuperVulcans, which she shot at ShadeMan with, all creating blinding lights with each hit.
"But a child can do a light spell," Amity said to herself. "How is Luz making it so powerful? And why is this so thrilling to me?" she asked, feeling a surprising smile appearing on her face.
"NeoVariableSword!" Luz called out, flying up, the half stars on her back growing to resemble star wings. She flew at ShadeMan, who flew back at her, and slashed several times at him, causing him to crash into the stands before she spun around, her blade glowing. "Super Sonic Boom!" she yelled, sending out the famous wave at ShadeMan and knocking him right into the center of the arena.
"Everyone, out!" Eda called, flying back while everyone ran to the far sides, Amity not noticing that something fell from the back of her neck.
"PROGRAM ADVANCE!" Luz and Azura called out, causing several mirrors to appear all around ShadeMan.
"Gun del Sol, Double Battle Chip In!"
Both of the guns at Luz's sides shone gold again as Luz grabbed them again, twirling them around.
"Solar Boy Django, Navi Data Chip In!"
"PILE DRIVER PROGRAM ADVANCE! ACTIVATE!"
Everyone watched as all of the mirrors shone bright. Luz shone over ShadeMan, looking around in complete shock, before she shot at him, getting beams of light to shoot out from each mirror. Everyone watched as they created not blinding lights, but a beautiful shining aurora that brought a tremendous level of color to the entire arena. Each blast continued to hit ShadeMan, his screams drowned out by the lights dancing all around, before Luz landed, crossing her Gun del Sols in front of her as the mirrors faded.
"Mess with the best, and you lose like the rest!" Luz proclaimed.
When the lights and the aurora cleared away, ShadeMan was still standing, but had burns all over his body. Letting out a groan, he dropped to his knees, a baffled expression on his face as he stuttered.
"This… this is just the beginning," ShadeMan proclaimed weakly as Luz turned back around to advance on him. "Take in this victory for now, Luz Noceda. I shall return, and the next time we meet… I will not take you as lightly." He promised before digitizing away through a dark magic circle.
"ShadeMan, Logging Out."
"I'll be waiting," Luz said before a triumphant grin appeared on her face. "We all will."
Everyone still stood in awe, even Lilith, at what had just unfolded. Eventually, louder cheers than before flooded the entire building, with chants of Luz echoing all around, as Willow, Gus, Skara, and even Amity, cheered for the human.
"LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ! LUZ!"
Luz smiled before spreading out her arms. As soon as she did, her armor faded away, revealing she was now bruised and had some of her clothes torn. Still, she caught her PET as it fell, twirled it around, and holstered it away as the cheers for her continued.
Luz looked around and smiled happily. Turning, she saw Eda waving at her, with King running down to join her. Gus, Willow and Skara were cheering as well while Lilith was still in shock over all that had just happened.
"Not bad, Kid," Eda said. "What was all that?"
"I don't know, to be honest," Luz said, taking a step forward. "It's never…"
Luz stopped when she felt a pain, almost dropping to the ground. Everyone gasped before Amity suddenly caught her in her arms.
"Amity?" Luz asked again.
"Easy there," Amity said. "I think you've won more than enough times today."
'She feels so warm. So soft. Why am I even thinking these thoughts?'
"Take her to the Healing Coven, would ya?" Eda asked as she turned to see Lilith, having finally moved, and now walking towards them. "Gotta have a really important word with Lily here."
Amity nodded and helped Luz over to the Healing Coven. As soon as they were gone, Eda turned to Lilith, now in front of her, and looking to her wrist.
"He stole my coven sigil," Lilith said before turning to Eda. "Your student… what is she?"
"Powerful, but that ShadeMan guy? He's one of the strongest where she comes from, and from what Luz told me, he was supposed to be dead." Eda replied.
"How dangerous is all of this?" Lilith asked.
"More dangerous than me, if he could take me, my student, your student, and three talented young witches without breaking a sweat, if Darkloids even can sweat," Eda said, unaware that a tainted yellow magic circle was appearing where Amity had taken cover from the Pile Driver. "This is real serious, Lily, and right now, we need to—"
"What do we have here?"
Eda, Lilith, King, Gus, Skara and Willow all turned to see GrandeurMan picking up the slip. It had the same symbol that was used for Tiny Nose when she was with the Construction Coven. He looked to Eda and scoffed.
"Another Darkloid?" Eda asked.
"Eda the Owl Lady, I regret we weren't able to clash when I was still a demon," GrandeurMan said, surprising the six. "Rest assured, the one known as Adegast is no more. I am GrandeurMan now, Darkloid and loyal follower of ShadeMan! This Demon Realm will fall to the Darkloids, no matter what you try!" he proclaimed, letting out a laugh right as Eda and Lilith charged at him, only to disappear.
"GrandeurMan, Logging Out."
"He… was once a demon?" Lilith asked.
"It might sound impossible, but forget anything about taking me in," Eda said. "Things just got real serious here."
At the Healing Coven, Healers were placing special patches onto Luz. She sighed blissfully as the patches did their work, healing up all the bruises and scratches she had gotten within seconds. Feeling her arm, she flexed it before seeing Amity close by, leaning against a wall.
"Thanks for that," Luz said. "For all of it."
"You knew that battle before it even started," Amity said. "And you could have ended it… but why didn't you?"
"Because I told you. You're a wannabe bully," Luz replied, getting up and walking to Amity as she slumped down to the ground. "I saw it before in another girl. A short one with a forehead so shiny that it can blind anyone. She was high and mighty, but really was insecure. I saw the same in you, and knew that I had a chance of getting through to you."
"At what cost?" Amity asked. "My future, being in the Emperor's Coven, is gone! They never take in anyone who surrenders, and after all I've worked for, my future went up in smoke!"
Luz was about to say something to help, but was beaten to it by Azura.
"Is that what you really want?"
"Who…?" Amity started before seeing Luz take out her PET. Looking to the strange Scroll curiously, she watched as Luz pressed a few buttons before a screen popped up, showing the same form that Luz had taken.
"Hi, Amity. I've seen you before, but we've never properly met."
"Who… what are you?" Amity asked.
"This is my NetNavi… my friend… my sister." Luz said.
"And my name is Azura Exe."
"Wait… Azura?!" Amity exclaimed in surprise.
"If you've been working as hard as you claim, then those Coven guys would see it instantly," Azura said. "From one newcomer to another, I know that it's not easy to be recognized by a higher being. Be your own witch. Luz and I both are." Azura said.
"I know I won, but I'll at least keep to one of your terms," Luz said, taking out a paper to draw the light glyph on. "I'm not a witch, but that won't stop me from training to be my own kind of witch," she said, tapping the completed design to show off a light orb. "We will be faced with challenges, all of us. Even more than before now that we have ShadeMan to worry about. But working to be the best we can be, and not have to worry about the pressure of those higher than us, we can be more than them… if the Everlasting Oath doesn't affect this in any way."
Amity thought for a moment before holding out her hand. "Give me your hand."
Luz did just that, and with a spell circle around both of their intertwined hands, something rushed in between the two before it subsided.
"The Oath is undone. I will forever keep my promises on the terms, but we can both go our respective ways," Amity said as she stood up the same time that Luz did. "Besides, today was the most thrilling experience of my life. I've never battled like that before."
"You haven't, huh?" Luz asked. "Would you be willing to explore the world of what Azura and I are a part of more then?"
Amity sent Luz a smile. "If possible… can I have a NetNavi too?" she asked. "I even have a name if you named yours Azura."
"I know what you're thinking here," Luz said. "If we ever meet again, we can discuss it more."
"Then… I guess I'll see you around… Luz." Amity said before walking away, letting out an excited giggle before calming herself once again.
"Still, I'm now more worried than ever," Azura said as Eda and King walked over. "ShadeMan found a way back, and we don't know what he could be planning."
"We've got a lot to talk about," Eda said as Gus, Willow and Skara came over. "I think he's found a way to turn demons, and possibly witches, into Darkloids."
"Then we need to plan out our next move." Luz said in a serious tone.
All Willow, Gus and Skara could do was nod before they followed the trio of the Owl House out of the building.
"The Emperor is unavailable, but expresses surprise at what happened today," a small red demon with a claw for hair was saying to Lilith later on. "He has confined himself after this turn of events."
"Did he wish to see me?" Lilith asked, still thinking about ShadeMan and what Eda told her.
"He has denied any of his followers an audience," Kikimora said. "The Golden Guard and I will handle anything that you or anyone else has to tell him."
"Drop any arrest warrants for my sister, Kikimora," Lilith ordered. "We're dealing with something more serious than her as of today."
"You are," ShadeMan said, observing from his palace. GrandeurMan and several new Darkloids knelt down behind him as he looked to the power glyph that was recovered. He sent it to one of the new Dark Chips, and they not only multiplied but surged with power. "This new era has only just begun."
Back at the Owl House, Luz was looking to the light glyph on her PET, as well as the footage from the battle at the Covention, which was now showing on the crystal ball as Gus, Willow and Skara watched it with interest.
"Trending as the top video of this century, ShadeMan, the leader of this new group of Darkloids, makes his debut to all of the Boiling Isles, and to all in the Demon Realm as well," a reporter with similar features that Gus had, was saying. "Sources from today's Covention events have all seen this Darkloid go up against five witches before he was overtaken by the new human. An apprentice of the Owl Lady, Eda Clawthorne, known as Luz Noceda. Her powers were able to drive him off, right after winning a witch's duel too. The Blight Family is unavailable for comments, as is Amity Blight herself, but we advise everyone to remain—"
"How can Dad even try to tell everyone to stay calm?" Gus asked as Eda turned off the crystal ball. "He nearly wiped the floor with us, and we would have been done for had it not been for Luz and Azura."
"Listen, whatever these Darkloids are, one of them attacked the school with Viruses," Willow said. "And if that one was once a demon, who knows what ShadeMan could do with other witches and demons?"
"Look, Luz didn't fight them, but she did tell me all about them, and how they tried to take over the Human Realm a year ago," Eda said. "From what she said, someone who overthrew ShadeMan at the time murdered her father."
"They're that strong?!" Skara exclaimed.
"Which is exactly why we need to be ready for anything," Luz said, turning back around and getting everyone's attention. She looked to the side and saw the scrolls of her friends floating before turning her attention to her friends. "I'm not exactly sure what caused the power that I was granted to take ShadeMan down, but Azura does," she said, setting her Progress PET down and letting the holographic screen activate. "Take it away, Sis."
"The evening after we met you all, Luz discovered a light spell. When she traced it, it formed into an orb of light, but that very same first trace appeared in my system as well," Azura started to explain. "And it gave us what I can only deduce to be a new power, on level with a power Lan and MegaMan two of the strongest from our world, had known as DoubleSoul."
"So what does it mean?" King asked.
"I think that, when Luz discovered that glyph, it also transferred to grant me and her a power that was once lost," Azura said. "MegaMan once had it. It was known as Style Change."
"Wait, what?" Luz asked. "You're saying that the Light Glyph restored Style Change? And for you and me?!"
"You sound so surprised about this," Willow said. "Doesn't everyone have that?"
"You wish, it was only for Lan and MegaMan," Luz said. "But after they performed CrossFusion for the first time, they lost it. Heat Guts, Wood Shield, Elec Team, and Aqua Custom. Those were the famous Style Changes of MegaMan. It looks like we've got new ones now."
"And from the way the Light Glyph worked, I'd say we're free to name it, as well as any others from possible glyphs we might find," Azura went on. "How about… Starlight Style?"
Luz thought about it for a moment before a smile came onto her face. "I like it!" she exclaimed. "Our first exclusive Style Change! Starlight Style!"
"It has a nice ring to it, but even with it, you can't handle ShadeMan and who knows how many other Darkloids alone," Willow said. "That's why we want to help, no matter what."
"And you shall," Luz said as a rhythmic beeping went off. Turning over, the scrolls floated back to their owners, now stylized and colored to match Willow, Gus and Skara. "I don't have NetNavis for all of you yet, those will take time. But having a Scroll PET on you should help, as will the Battle Chips that you'll be given too."
"It's gonna take all the help we can get to fight the Darkloids." Skara said.
"But I know we'll be ready," Luz said as she looked to her nearby laptop, creating a new NetNavi from one of the Custom Burn Discs. "The process for NetNavis for each of you will be slow, but once Azura and I have more help, we'll be more than ready to take ShadeMan on, and any of the other Darkloids that might attack the Demon Realm."
"Still glad you stayed?" Eda asked, walking over.
"Very," Luz said with a confident look on her face. "Now, our fight starts, and nothing is gonna stop us!"
