Chapter 12: Really, BubbleMan Again?!
In MagiNet City, NumberMan was busy setting up Battle Chip Traders. As he was, he turned to Prairie and several other Navis waiting outside of the Chip Store, now set up like a tent stand, similar to the one that Eda had when Luz first arrived in the Demon Realm.
"Now, where was I?" NumberMan asked, walking back to the growing number of customers. "Ah, that's right. All of your Chip Orders are ready. If I could have you each lined up in alphabetical order of your NetOps' names, that would be of great help."
Prairie stayed where she was, letting Eratoeir walk in front of her. Several other Navis went into a line behind the two while SpoutMan came out from the back.
"Shuko told me to tell you that your loan went through," SpoutMan said. "You'll have enough to get more chips with the money you're making already!"
"Ah, excellent!" NumberMan said happily. "Feel free to explore MagiNet City as a reward. Higsby will make sure to pay you and Shuko back for all you have done!"
"Thanks a lot, NumberMan!" SpoutMan replied with a smile before making his way around the desk and into MagiNet City.
"Oh, he's so cute!" Amelia said on a screen next to Eratoeir.
"I wish he could come out like Azura and Hecate can for Luz and Amity," Cat said as several Navis and NetOps on other screens gushed at SpoutMan, unaware that they were being watched, "I could just cuddle with him for hours!"
"Get in line!"
"Wow, this place is really different from the Net back home."
From the shadows watching everything was none other than BubbleMan. He looked from the Chip Store to all around with wonder, a glint in his eye as he saw everything happening around him.
"And it all feels like I've been here before too, blub-blub," BubbleMan added on. "I guess it was a good thing I ended up here after that close encounter…"
In the Human Realm, During the Demon Realm's Lunar Eclipse, Twenty Hours Ago…
"Get them, my Bubble Brigade!" BubbleMan called out, sending forth harpoon blasts alongside his many bubbles with traps inside each one of them. "Make them see we superior Darkloids are still a force to be reckoned with, blub-blub!"
"MegaBuster!" MegaMan called out, firing at several of the bubbles before the NetNavi of Kim Possible, Miracle, slashed through more of them.
"Come on! I thought we were friends after you returned Rush and helped us take down Lucre!" Miracle complained as she charged up her blade. "MiracleWorker, full charge! MiracleBurst!" she called out, sending forth a series of blasts followed by several Sonic Booms to take out more bubbles and harpoons.
"Wade, how sooner until Lan gets here from his mission?" Kim asked from M-Tech City.
"In twenty minutes," Wade Load replied as Kim loaded some Battle Chips into her Kimmunicator PET. "The traffic from taking down Asteroid BlasterMan is very busy."
"Come on, Ron. You done with that Naco contest with Monique or what?" Kim asked, turning around to see her sidekick and best friend, Ron Stoppable, eating Bueno Nacho Nacos with her second best friend and the daughter of Raoul, Monique Raizen. "I could use some help here!"
"We're here, don't worry!" Ron's NetNavi, AncientMysticMan, called out, as he arrived with Monique's NetNavi, Pallette. "Fire Sonic Boom!" he called out, sending forth one of his signature attacks.
"Big mistake!" BubbleMan spat before more bubbles appeared. "Water beats fire, blub-blub blub!"
"You really are a bubble-head!" Pallette remarked before spreading her arms out. "Pallette Bolt!"
BubbleMan watched as blasts of every element took out the bubble reinforcements. He was about to fire back until he noticed MegaMan aiming right at him.
"Come on, you don't have to keep doing this," MegaMan said. "I thought you're friends with IceMan and SpoutMan."
"Well, I don't see them here, now do I?" BubbleMan asked before aiming his harpoon blaster out at MegaMan. "Now, to get you in the glory of Master ShadeMan!"
All of a sudden, several lights began to shine within the Net. All of the Navis looked around before random portals started to open everywhere. Miracle noticed one appear above MegaMan and lunged at him.
"Heads up!" Miracle called out, tackling MegaMan out of the way as several blasts burst through.
"Thanks for that, Miracle." MegaMan said.
"Blub… what's going on?" BubbleMan asked before a portal took him away.
"Come on!" AncientMysticMan called out, running after BubbleMan, only for the portal to let out a wave of water which he narrowly dodged.
Everyone else got out of the way of the wave as well before seeing it boil away the bubbles. Once it had cleared, the lights stopped, and the portals disappeared completely.
BubbleMan opened his eyes and spat out water, which boiled on the ground. Looking down, he saw he had washed up at a beach. Seeing that there were also no digital structures around, he rubbed his head, just as a Lunar Eclipse came to an end.
"Oh, blub-blub… where am I now?"
Present…
"It may have taken me a while to realize this wasn't Earth, but at least I know this place is called the Demon Realm, blub," BubbleMan said before closing his eyes. He digitized out of MagiNet City and into the Demon Realm's physical plane of reality, looking at everything from a hill where Boscha's shack was. "And now, I can do whatever I want!"
"Hey, kid!"
"Of course, there's always the Karen no matter where you end up." BubbleMan lamented before turning around, seeing Boscha storming out.
"I let you at least within six feet of my shack, but you have to do whatever I say if you even think of trying to get closer!" Boscha yelled, stomping towards BubbleMan angrily.
"Oh, you think so?" BubbleMan asked, an evil glint showing in his eye. "Well, how about I just let this all… float away… and save you the trouble?" he asked, aiming his harpoon shooter out.
"Whoa… wait… what are you doing?! No, put me down! Someone, HHHHEEELLLLPPP!"
At Hexside, Amity, Skara, Willow, and a few students were gathered in the homeroom where the Human Appreciation Society was usually held. While it was the weekend, and with the school being tidied up for when the week started back up again, Principal Bump allowed them to use the room for a meeting, under the condition that none of them see Luz's classroom until her class officially started.
"So with VineMan discovered, we should try to figure out who or what the rest of the original Darkloids once were," Luz said, wearing a Hexside cowl and scarf. She looked to herself as Azura was putting up profiles of every original Darkloid. "I don't think this stuff that Principal Bump gave me is working to make me look too professional."
"Well, he did say that until he found something for you that was a little less Glandus, and not as revealing as what you have underneath your hoodie, that would do," Azura said. "At the least, I think the scarf could be shorter."
"I like it." Amity admitted.
Luz smiled before turning to the profiles. "Let's see, there's FlashMan, the guy who tried to use power surges to create blinding chaos through DenTech," she said, pointing to the profile of FlashMan, getting everyone else to look to their own copies of the files of all the original Darkloids. "SparkMan had at least two plots of his own, but when he tried to use a train full of humans to kill a station full of other humans, he was Deleted. Lan and MegaMan alone Deleted one third of SwordMan before taking down the other two thirds and FridgeMan in the desert… still not too sure how they ran all the way there," she commented. "But I think they all came from somewhere before."
"Maybe SwordMan was created from discarded swords?" a Healing Track student asked, the same one who had faced off against FeralMan at Terrace Stadium, to be exact.
"At this point, since VineMan came from a plant in a garden of Terra Snapdragon, that sounds likely along with every other theory we have," Willow said before summoning her Scroll PET to look at GardenMan. "Hope you don't mind us talking about your past self like this, GardenMan."
"No problem," GardenMan said. "Both of us were made better versions of ourselves thanks to you, after all."
"Well, that's another theory to add," Azura said, taking the theory written by the buff Healing Track student and placing it with an overflowing box of other theory slips. "It'll take us a while to go through these and see what clicks together."
"Well, until then, I suggest we head home and… Wa—!" Luz started out, walking to her stuff, only to trip on her long scarf, getting her right shoe to fly into the air.
Everyone winced at Luz's fall, even though she landed into a soft seat. Amity was quick to catch Luz's shoe before running to make sure she was okay.
"You alright?" Amity asked.
"Remember how we discussed this, Amity." Hecate said through Amity's Scroll PET, getting her to look from the shoe to Luz's bare foot, a blush appearing on her face.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Luz said, getting back up. Amity blushed a bit more as Luz turned herself around, seeing her shoe in her hand. "Think you can put that back on for me?" she asked, holding her foot out.
Amity gulped as she felt the words of the offer sink in. Shakily, she sat down turned the shoe around, continuing to look to Luz's foot as she prepared to put the shoe back on.
"I swear, you live out any of those fantasies you confided in me about this kind of scenario with Luz, and you and I are gonna have a talk about your desires." Hecate said from the Net.
Carefully, Amity took a hold of Luz's heel, eliciting a small twitch of her toes and a rather sensuous sound followed by a soft giggle. To Amity, the sound Luz made having her foot touched was strangely alluring. This along with the close physical contact with her triggered some reaction inside of her brain. 'No, Amity, don't do this. Luz would hate you for this if she knew.' She thought to herself, before she leaned in closer, just as Hecate appeared in the doorway to secretly watch for herself what would happen.
Fortunately for Hecate, Amity was able to keep her desires and fantasies in check, as she quickly slid the shoe back on until it was completely covering Luz's foot again, letting out a sigh of relief afterwards.
Willow snuck a sneaky grin at Skara, whose eyes widened at the outcome. Rolling her eyes afterwards, she handed her a small sack of snail coins, which Willow took without the smile leaving her face.
"Gonna have to have that talk with Principal Bump about this scarf. Thanks, Amity," Luz said, but Amity remained unresponsive. "Um… Amity? Will I still see you tomorrow?" she asked, slightly poking her, only for her to fall on her side, completely stiff as a statue.
"I can take it from here." Hecate said, using her LunaStriker to lift Amity up and carry her out, doing her best to cover her completely ruby-red face from Luz's eyes.
This, however, did not go unnoticed by Skara, who now had a grin on her own face. She held her hand out to Willow, who handed her ten gold bars, each one twice the size of a brick.
"You actually held it in this time," Hecate said before lightly bonking Amity on the head once they were outside, getting her to move once again. "Now, we gotta work on you just not crashing after making physical contact with any part of Luz's body that you get to touch."
"Was it really that troublesome?" Amity asked, rolling her eyes as she and Hecate walked back home.
"Well, you know what they say about trouble," Azura mused, watching the exchange as she and Luz made their way back to the Owl House for the day. "It's always sure to be right around the corner."
As soon as Luz and Amity turned their respective corners, they failed to notice a large bubble floating over them, slowly ascending higher and higher. Inside of the bubble was none other than Boscha, trying to burst her way out before seeing just how high she had gotten into the air.
Once Luz had returned to the Owl House, she walked to her room, ready to take a nap. However, once she entered the room, she tripped again, and fell. Not onto her sleeping bag, but a large bed instead, with a smaller one at the foot of the bed.
"What's all this?" Luz asked, feeling the soft comfort of the mattress and the dozen pillows at the head of the bed.
"You like it?" Eda asked, walking in. "I noticed you getting some problems after sleeping with that bag, so I got a few strings pulled and was able to get a great priced bed, just for you."
"And I was there to haggle for an extra smaller bed for me too," King said as he walked from underneath Eda, getting her to blush with embarrassment and close her legs together as he did so. "Now we can both sleep with well-earned comfort!"
"Wow, Eda, this is great!" Luz exclaimed before getting up to hug her mentor. "Thanks!"
"Ah, don't mention it, kiddo," Eda said. "Least I could do for all you'd done," she said before seeing dark clouds outside. "I'd better get a protection spell for the house ready. We've got another rainstorm coming in."
"How long would you give it?" Luz asked as she turned to see the clouds for herself, with King now on her shoulder to peer over as well.
"I'd say about five hours from now," Eda said. "And with how dark they look, we're probably getting a heavy fall of it too."
"Let's see, if I were to create a MegaMan to call my own, to mark as an improvement to the original, what shall I call it?" Odalia Blight asked herself in her office, looking over one of the many posters of MegaMan posted throughout the Demon Realm to help hype up the upcoming Dem-N1 Grand Prix. "The Mighty Number 9? That could work, but what happened to the other eight, if anyone asked? Rockman? I feel like that's taken. Ugh, this is much harder than I thought it was gonna be!" she complained before seeing Amity walk into the manor. "Didn't even tell me you were out, I see," she scowled before walking out to confront her daughter. "I see you are fine after that attack, and…" she started before seeing her new hair, causing her eye to twitch. "What have you done to your hair?!"
"None of your business," Amity said. "I never liked the green. I felt it was time for a change."
"It doesn't match my standards, or the standards of the Blights!" Odalia snapped as Amity walked up the stairs, making her way past her mother. "Change it back right…"
Before Odalia could go on, she felt a warmth in her mouth. Letting out a scream, she saw in a mirror that her uvula was on fire, causing her to run to the kitchen for some water.
"I've always wanted to do that." Amity said with a rebellious smirk, and a spell circle over her hand, before walking all the way to her room, where Hecate came out.
"I know a few other ways you can shut her up," Hecate said. "Besides, she might be older than you, but she doesn't get to have a say in what you do with your life."
"And I look forward to carrying all of them out to make my independence clear," Amity said. She took out her armlets she bought and admired herself with them in the mirror. "I gotta admit, these really do look good, and I haven't even used them yet," she admitted before pulling back some of her hair to admire it, smiling at the new color replacing her green hair. "And I really do rock this new hairstyle, if I do say so myself."
"You look so good with your hair down, and with it lavender," Hecate said, leaning against the desk. "If Odalia tries to do anything about it, know that she'll have me to answer to."
"Be my guest," Amity said before hearing something pattering at her window. "Is it that tree again?" she asked, feeling irate now. "I thought Ed and Em stopped having Amelia come over to do that."
"Amity! Amity! Help!"
"You hear that?"
"Over here!"
Hecate turned to try and find the source of the voice. When she turned to the window, her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped with disbelief.
"Amity, look over there!" Hecate called. "You won't believe it!"
Amity turned to the window and dropped her jaw, seeing Boscha still inside of the bubble. She was trying to control its movement, but was failing due to the wind from the incoming storm.
"Boscha?!" Amity yelled, opening up the door to her balcony. "What's going on?!"
"I'm in a bubble!" Boscha yelled, only for her voice to be muffled from the thick layer the bubble had.
"You're in a bubble!" Amity exclaimed.
"Ya think?!" Boscha yelled incredulously, this time being heard clearly by Amity.
"Okay, stand back, I think I know what to do," Amity said, pushing Boscha back a bit as Hecate returned to the Scroll PET, allowing her to CrossFuse immediately with a Needle Machine Battle Chip summoned in front of her. "I'll pop you out of there!"
"Wait, no!" Boscha called as the Needle Machine prepared to fire. "Wait until I'm on the balcony! Wait until I'm over it! Wait until—!"
"Fire!"
In the rooms of Edric and Emira, Edric was busy writing something on a parchment while Emira was lying on her bed, her feet out of her shoes and dangling behind her, crossed and flexing.
"Ah, how sweet," Emira said as she looked to her Scroll PET. She glanced around, making sure she was not being watched, before typing something in return. "Nothing can ruin this moment."
All of a sudden, as Edric was about to jot the final part of his passage down, a thud was heard. He and Emira looked up in surprise before dashing out of their rooms towards Amity's, where the sound was coming from.
Amity looked down as the Needle Machine faded away. She gulped as she beheld the sight of Boscha, having been freed from the bubble she was in, but also having fallen right onto the balcony, face first.
"Well, at least you're not dead." Amity said with a sheepish grin as she and Hecate separated, cancelling out CrossFusion.
"If I'm not healed when I get up… I'm going to have to kill you." Boscha said with a muffled groan.
Amity and Hecate glanced at each other before the former took out her Scroll PET. "Better call Luz to help sort this all out." She said.
"Wait, is that… Hecate?!" Edric exclaimed as Amity and Hecate turned back while Boscha let out a long groan.
"How did this happen?" Emira asked. "I thought only Azura could show up out of a PET!"
"Oh, I never told you this happened?" Amity asked, getting head shakes from both twins. "Well… it's a long story."
"But I can say I am very happy to finally meet you two in person," Hecate said as Amity finally got into contact with Luz, explaining what was happening. "I can't wait to get to know you more."
"Yeah, same," Emira said as she glanced at Edric. "This feels way different than when Mom confronts us." She whispered.
"Yeah," Edric whispered back in agreement. "It's way more… positive than her presence."
Meanwhile, BubbleMan was on a cliff, overlooking the Boiling Sea. Seeing a bird land in it, it boiled up immediately.
"So, the Boiling Isles doesn't have just boiling rain, but boiling water all around too!" BubbleMan exclaimed before loading his back hose into the water, which was not affected once it entered the substance. "That means I can use this for a grand scheme that Lan and MegaMan robbed me of! Oh, blub! Just take on all this water first, and then get ready to set up for the big catastrophe! This is gonna be great! Blub!" he exclaimed before taking out a Power Patch, only with a blue version of the Potions Coven on it. "And this Power Patch, or whatever they call it, will help me in the long run! No Dark Chips for me for as long as I live! It's BubbleMan's time to shine!"
Back at Blight Manor, Odalia was just finished putting out her uvula, and got back to her office, unaware of Edric and Emira stealthily making their way down to the front door behind her.
"First, Luzura Incorporated skyrockets because of their CEO's speech at Terrace Stadium. Then, Willow Park not only gets immunity from the Covens thanks to saving the Bonesborough Garden Club, but can now do CrossFusion as well. And to add to that, nothing I put for sale sold at the market during the Lunar Eclipse Sale!" Odalia complained, seeing all of the recent events that had taken place. Scowling, she saw most increases in investments in Luz's company happening after she and her friends took down Darkloids, and a thought came to her mind. "Maybe a different kind of action will help boost Blight Industries," she said, now unaware that Luz was walking up the stairs as the twins shut down an Abomination Butler at the front door before making their way back up as well. "If you really want to get their attention… take a Darkloids' life." She said, turning off her crystal ball and walking towards the factory.
After BubbleMan had enough boiling water in his tanks, he walked to the market and looked around. Making his way into one of the tents, and ignoring the many people eyeing him strangely, he grabbed a cart from nearby and began grabbing several items.
"Let's see, strong springs, check. Extra durable boards, got them!" BubbleMan said to himself as he was making his way to the exit. "Now, I just gotta make sure that I have all of these in place, and I'm all set!" he said before a sense of realization suddenly hit him. "Oh, wait, blub. What about the waterworks? That place is sure to be extra guarded!" he panicked before a smirk came to his face. "Then again, I can come here without a Dimensional Area. That's not to say that perhaps I can bring my Viruses and Bubble Parade with me too!"
"Hey, scuba kid!" Tibbles called out as BubbleMan passed him. "Aren't you gonna pay for those?!"
"Pay? Oh, right! Blub," BubbleMan said, searching himself for a wallet. Taking one out, he looked through it, only for all the pockets to be empty. "Sorry, blub-blub," he said sheepishly. "Do you take credit?"
Tibbles rolled his eyes. "It'll cost more than that, you cheapskate." He remarked
"Good, then you'll do for extra," BubbleMan said, grabbing Tibbles. Before he could make his way out, however, he went to his registrar and slid a credit card on it, paying for everything. "Darkloid Express. Never leave the Net without it!"
Back at Blight Manor, Boscha was on a bench in Amity's room, with an icepack to her face. Emira was tending to her injury while Luz and Amity were standing in front of her.
"So, let me get this straight," Luz said. "You were minding your own business at your shack, when a small round boy who looked like a scuba diver trespassed on your property and trapped you in a bubble?"
"And you spent the last two hours flying higher and higher into the air until you reached my room here?" Amity went on.
"Yes, that's right," Boscha said. "Guy was all bubbly. Literally, all he could talk about was bubbles."
"Wait," Azura said, pacing behind Boscha with Hecate, getting Boscha to nearly jump in surprise at the two in the real world. "Luz, you don't think it's him… do you?"
"He's literally the only one who matches that description, so yes," Luz said. "I do think it's him."
"Who?" Emira asked while feeling her Scroll PET vibrate. Everyone turned to her as she tried to silence it, only for the vibrating to get her to shake.
"We got this," Amity said. "If you have a call, go and take it."
"Okay, thanks," Emira said, walking out. Before she could get all the way out, she turned to Boscha. "You should be all good now." She said before finally leaving.
"The guy you described to me was one of the original Darkloids," Luz said to Boscha, surprising her and Amity. "And his name is BubbleMan."
"What's his deal?" Boscha asked.
"An extra-super loyalist to ShadeMan, and the most recurring and durable enemies of Lan and MegaMan," Luz replied. "But that's not to say he's too bright. His grand plan when they first met… was to reverse the water flow of all of DenTech City to flood every house."
Amity's eyes widened. "Wow, that's extreme." She said.
"Wait," Luz said, turning to Amity. "You think it's a dangerous scheme?"
"If he did it here, we'd all melt from the boiling water," Boscha said. "I don't know how you could've seen him as a light threat if he were to pull that off, but then again, I don't know what your water is like."
"Okay, she's got a point, it's harmless where I come from, and harmful here," Luz admitted. "But each of his plans involved bubbles. Nothing but bubbles."
"Really?" Amity asked. "Just bubbles?"
"When his own bubbles were sent back at him while trying to Delete MegaMan for revenge, he resorted to bubble armor to protect himself," Luz said. "Then he somehow tricked MegaMan's friends, IceMan and SpoutMan—"
"That bundle of joy?!" Boscha squealed, causing Luz and Amity, the latter with a blush on her face after hearing about SpoutMan, to turn to her. "I mean, from what Cat and Amelia tell me about him during their Navis' times in MagiNet City. Not that I borrow them to see him for myself or anything."
Rather than question Boscha further, Luz took a deep breath and continued.
"Well, BubbleMan somehow tricked IceMan and SpoutMan into having a 'NetBattle for Fun' with MegaMan, Roll and NumberMan, based on what IceMan said," Luz said. "Every plan he has mostly is trying to take down Lan and MegaMan directly, and always has bubbles involved. He's a bit of a friend to them now, though."
"How is one of the original Darkloids a friend to you?" Amity asked.
"Yeah, that guy made me float!" Boscha exclaimed.
"Because in order for ShadeMan to be brought into the real world back then, they needed the help of a cyber dog who hung out with Lan and his friends, known as Rush," Luz explained. "When ShadeMan got Deleted, BubbleMan was fighting with Raika and SearchMan when leading Lan's friends to take out the Dimensional Area covering Earth, and then returned Rush to us," she said. "We've been friendly with him ever since."
"So how'd he even end up here?" Amity asked.
"Hmm, maybe he found another portal?" Luz suggested.
"Well, I don't know what else to say about this, but I did hear what he wanted to carry out before, you know…" Boscha said.
"Which is what?" Luz asked.
"Wait," Hecate said, seeing Emira peeking back into the room before going back out into the hall. "Fill me in on what's going on. I'll be right back."
"Yeah, sorry," Emira said as she looked to her screen, seeing Skara on the other end. "Boscha somehow ended up in a bubble and it popped outside of Amity's balcony. I didn't mean to leave you hanging back there, I'm sorry. I just had to make sure everything was okay."
"Don't worry, I understand," Skara said. "Before we tell them, though, are you okay with it? I'm more than willing to let the others know, but I want to know if you're ready too."
"I'm a bit nervous, if I'm telling the truth," Emira admitted. "You know you and Amity didn't see eye to eye after Boscha's last birthday. I'm more worried about what she might think more than my parents and Ed."
"Hey, whenever you're ready, I'll be there," Skara said. She turned her head as thunder was heard. "With how things are with my family's own company, we could use a good turn of events to lighten things up. I gotta go now. We gotta make sure the protection spell holds. See you soon." She said before signing off.
Emira smiled and closed her eyes, holding her Scroll PET to her chest.
"So, you and Skara, huh?"
Emira gasped from her short-lived moment of relief and turned to see Hecate, having seen everything.
"I-it's not what it looks like!" Emira stuttered before getting a rather high eyebrow raise from Hecate, causing her to sigh. "Okay, you caught me. Skara and I… we're dating."
"Whoa," Hecate said. "Nice score, Em. When did this happen?"
"Back during the Darkloid attack on Terrace Stadium," Emira explained. "I was tending to a lot of people who got scraped during the first round against the Darkloids, and morale was low while we were being hunted by FeralMan and SerratEnby. While I was tending to Skara's injuries during a check on everyone, she played some soothing melodies to everyone to calm them down. I found it a sweet tune, and she was amazed at how I was so proficient in Healing Magic," she said. "Before that message from ShadeMan, and then Luz, went out, we started to get to talking, and found we had a lot in common. We wanted to change for the better, be closer to Amity than we were before, and we had an interest in the Net Trend that Luz brought. Before we knew it, we were blushing whenever we were close to each other."
"And then what?" Hecate asked.
"Well, during the VineMan/Lurerre incident, we started to text each other on how to start a possible relationship," Emira went on. "After it was over, we met at the café and talked. We just wanted to talk about how to proceed, but soon, it became a date, and… we really wanted to make it official, but didn't know how to break it to everyone else. So please, don't tell Mittens."
Hecate looked to Emira as she hung her head low. Lifting it with her finger, she gave her a soft smile.
"I get what you're going through. Amity told me about how Skara broke off from Boscha, and then from her too," Hecate said. "I heard she was also mean from Amity's point of view, but from what I saw, both when forming and getting this body, she truly is a nice person when not controlled by someone else. And I can say from that story, you two are perfect for each other."
"Thanks, Hecate." Emira said with a slight blush.
"And I understand how things like this take time to let out," Hecate went on. "So take all the time you need. Just like how I'm there for Amity, I'll be there to help you when you make your decision to tell everyone," she said before holding her hand on Emira's shoulder. "You can trust me."
Emira smiled before pulling Hecate into a hug, surprising the moon-themed NetNavi. She got over it soon, and hugged back before releasing.
"You ready?" Hecate asked.
"To go back, yes," Emira said. "But not to tell them just yet."
Hecate chuckled before she walked Emira back into the room. However, when they arrived, they saw concerned looks on Luz, Azura and Amity's faces.
"What's wrong?" Hecate asked.
"We need to find BubbleMan… now." Amity replied.
Elsewhere, Lilith was reading a report of a recent strike team to Emperor Belos at the palace. Three of her Maverick Hunters were standing with her as the Golden Guard and Kikimora stood with Belos.
"Ending this, casualties during the Lunar Eclipse were nearly non-existent, but the fact that there were little to no one within the Coven Systems to aid in this or alleviate the pain of those within the Illusion and Oracle Covens have stirred up… much unease with the public," Lilith said, closing the scroll with the report before turning back to Emperor Belos. "You may have a condition ever since ShadeMan attacked you during Terrace Stadium, but the Emperor's Coven also has a duty to help out the people. Or else they will not believe you are on their side."
"The effects of that Eclipse were a setback, to be sure," Emperor Belos said. "And I am making sure that such an event never happens again… not when we are preparing for the Day of Unity. The Titan…"
"You have claimed the Will of the Titan many times, yet it has done nothing to help the people ease their worries with the Darkloids," Lilith said as the Golden Guard and Kikimora glanced at each other while Emperor Belos tightened his grip on his throne slowly. "And the fact that Luzura Incorporated was able to ensure zero casualties happened has only placed the people more on her—"
"Head Witch Lilith."
Lilith and Emperor Belos turned to see a Maverick Hunter enter, one that seemed to have cat ears underneath her cowl. Making her way to the Head Witch, she bowed.
"What is it, Severine?"
"Odalia Blight has been spotted armed and moving after a new Darkloid," Severine replied. "We have spotted him on the hills leading to the Titan's Knee, as well as multiple boards placed throughout the slope, with the missing Potions salesman Tibbles reported to be in his custody."
"Ugh," Lilith scowled, turning around. "That fool is going to be in for her next strike if she even tries to touch that new Darkloid," she seethed. "I will be taking my leave, Emperor Belos, but know that unlike you… I am tending to the needs of the people." She said before walking away, with the Maverick Hunters following.
"She seems to be growing more of a backbone each time she confronts you, my lord." Kikimora said.
"Make sure that she is kept in line," Emperor Belos ordered with tranquil fury. "I will not be questioned again concerning the safety of the people of the Boiling Isles."
Meanwhile, at the Darkloid Palace, Lurerre stood before ShadeMan.
'
"I am surprised you have the gall to confront me alone, Lurerre," ShadeMan mused as Lurerre took a deep breath at the pressure she was under. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure of this private audience?"
"Master ShadeMan, fifteen hours ago, sometime after the Eclipse had passed and PsychedelicMan Deleted, I attempted to convert someone into a Darkloid. A three-eyed lizard demon with a psychotic business scandal, perfect for a second Potions Darkloid," Lurerre explained. "Unfortunately, before I could corrupt him, I was interrupted…"
Fifteen Hours Ago…
"Hey, Lurerre!"
Lurerre turned away from the lizard demon she was trying to corrupt, Piniet, just as Skara rushed in and slammed down a WideBlade at her. She cartwheeled back and let out one of her Chemical Blades to counter just as the Power Patch from the Construction Coven, the same one of many that was collected from the Covention, but tainted with a blue version of the Potions Sigil, flew out from her hand.
Piniet gasped and tried to run, going for his briefcase. However, before he could grab it, Lilith took it as her Maverick Hunters surrounded him. Surrendering, he held up his hands as the guards took him away, leaving Skara to slash Lurerre back with a ZetaStep Program Advance, forcing her away.
"Lurerre, Logging Out."
Present…
"I was experimenting with the Power Patches at the time, and was able to imbue it with Potions Coven energy," Lurerre went on as ShadeMan leaned forward, his attention now grabbed. "When I went back to recover it, it was gone. Then I heard that there was new Darkloid activity in Bonesborough lately, and I had to ask if you were making any new recruits of your own."
"No, I did not," ShadeMan said. "You can consider yourself let off easy for this setback, but I am intrigued to know what people have been saying about this 'new Darkloid' that has been running rampant."
"Not much, but they pin the blame on whoever placed Boscha in a giant bubble."
ShadeMan's eyes widened.
"What?!"
As this was going on, BubbleMan was trudging down the hill from the Titan's Knee, hauling behind him two large cords with a heavy bubble held in between them. He looked around to the different boards he had placed everywhere before continuing to pull, making his way to the bottom of the slope.
"Blub, I'd better make this count," BubbleMan said before looking to a factory building nearby. "I got that taken care of. Now, to go on with my main plan, blub-blub! This oughta show MegaMan how strong I can really be!"
"Stop right there!"
"Blub?" BubbleMan asked, turning around while still continuing to trudge.
"So, it is you, BubbleMan!" Luz called as she, Azura, Amity and Hecate stood by the bottom. "Nice to finally meet you."
"And you must be… someone important," BubbleMan replied before pushing forward, trying to get from the near bottom to the very bottom to confront his interlopers. "Just give me a minute. I let go, and this all could go wrong for all of us, blub."
Luz and Amity exchanged glances before easing up on their stances. Azura and Hecate lowered their staffs as well, all now waiting for BubbleMan to arrive.
At that moment, Lilith and her selected Maverick Hunters arrived. They were about to attack until they noticed what Luz, Amity, Azura and Hecate were doing.
"And… you aren't attacking this Darkloid… why?" Lilith asked.
"Forty more seconds, and I'll be right there!" BubbleMan called, nearing the very bottom.
"We're just waiting." Amity said.
"We strike him at the wrong moment, and according to him, things won't be looking good for any of us," Luz added before noticing the dark clouds. "And it had better be soon before the storm hits."
The four chosen Maverick Hunters looked to each other before standing in neutral positions. Lilith shrugged and aimed out her staff, still waiting for BubbleMan to come down.
Two more minutes later, BubbleMan finally made it to the bottom, where Luz, Amity, Lilith and the Maverick Hunters got back into their fighting stances to take him on.
"I really gotta start that CrossFit trend that everyone's talking about," BubbleMan panted before looking back up. "So, we finally meet, whoever you are! Witness the glory that is known as BubbleMan the rotund and persistent!"
"Is that supposed to be intimidating?" Hecate asked.
"It will be when I create the greatest fear, panic and bubbly chaos that this Demon Realm has ever seen!" BubbleMan spat before letting out an evil laugh.
"And… how do you plan to do that?" Luz asked. "Seriously, why do Lan and Kim take you to be such a threat when not even Dr. Regal could sense your intentions?"
"He was too busy focused on that stupid plan he called the bigger picture to take any notice of me, blub-blub!" BubbleMan bragged. "As for what I am planning to do…"
"Your days are over, Darkloid!"
Everyone turned to see Odalia being lunged forward at BubbleMan thanks to an Oracle blast from her necklace, all while an Abomination watched with a recording camera.
BubbleMan just watched in confusion before taking a step back, letting Odalia crash into the ground. She growled and turned around as soon as she got back up, pointing a finger at him.
"I am Odalia Blight, CEO of Blight Industries!"
"Okay, good to know, blub-blub," BubbleMan said with his head tilted. "And… what do you want?"
"I will defend the future of everyone here… by erasing you from it!" Odalia proclaimed before charging at BubbleMan again.
"Ugh, Mom and her Oracle puns," Amity groaned, getting Hecate to pat her on the shoulder while glaring at what Odalia was doing. "I can never stand them at the demos, and I can't stand them now."
BubbleMan took a step forward, getting Odalia to miss him again before continuing to move as he pulled the cords, with Odalia continuing to miss her mark. Eventually, she finally landed on BubbleMan, and prepared to make spell circles that aimed at his face.
"The reason I can't read your mind… will be because you won't have one when I'm done with you!" Odalia scowled, trying to make her next move.
"I don't even get it!" BubbleMan spat before turning his bubble hose around. Odalia gasped before she was sent flying back from an explosive bubble. As soon as she landed, several hidden bubble mines went off, causing her to fly all over the place before finally landing on her face, with the rest of her body falling half a minute later. She let out a long high-pitched groan as her Abomination servant finished recording everything.
"Well, that's gotta hurt." Azura said as Luz shook her head.
"My apologies in advance for this, Amity," Lilith said as her Maverick Hunters fought to keep their composures while she send out a spell circle that made its way all the way to Blight Manor. "But that counts as another strike before Blight Industries gets a cease and desist order."
"Who was that wimp?" BubbleMan pondered before turning back to Luz, Amity, their Navis, Lilith and the Maverick Hunters. "Now, as I was saying, my grand plan!"
"Which is what?" Luz asked.
"This bubble was formed at the top of the Titan's Knee, and I just rolled it all the way down here," BubbleMan explained. "Once my giant slingshot from the flags of that deer-masked jokester shoot it up, it will launch into the springboard I made at the hill across from the one I just came down from and into the waiting clouds! It will create a cloudburst that will send explosions of boiling water down onto the entire Demon Realm! No one will be safe from my bubbly chaos!"
"Unless they're indoors." A Maverick Hunter pointed out.
"Oh, but that's where you're wrong, Masked Singer," BubbleMan spat, an evil glint in his eye. "I went to every waterworks factory on the Boiling Isles and reversed the water flow. If everyone stays indoors and the stormy boiling water doesn't melt them down, then the reverse flow of the water from all of their pipes will! No indoor or outdoor location will be safe for everyone! Finally, I'll be the true ruler of all fountains and water everywhere!"
"Again with that?" Luz asked.
"And I reiterate what I told Lan and MegaMan, you won't be laughing when you try to use the toilet and get flooded by the intense flow of water!" BubbleMan remarked. "Now imagine that thought with boiling water!"
"Yikes, that does sound frightening now." Steve mused.
"How'd you even get here?" Hecate asked.
"A full twenty-four hours ago, I was just fighting MegaMan and Miracle, when all of a sudden, some strange portal took me away through boiling water," BubbleMan explained. "The next thing I knew, I was looking at the end of what looked like a lunar eclipse, and wound up on a beach! No longer in the Cyberworld, but in this place! It took me nearly twenty hours to research everything about this Demon Realm, but once I did my homework, I went and put into place my plan to send everyone into panic with boiling water bubbles!"
"You came during the Eclipse?!" Amity exclaimed.
"Uh, that's what I just said," BubbleMan replied before stomping around. "Check your hearing!"
"Oh, we heard," Lilith said before summoning her Scroll PET. "I want all available scouts to go to the waterworks across the Boiling Isles! Stop the flow from reversing!"
"Oh, I'm afraid that won't do you any good," BubbleMan said. "Because I've placed my special bubble mines across every known and unknown entry towards the waterworks factories. So when your backup tries to stop my plan…"
At that moment, distant explosions went off, sending Coven Scouts flying into the air near every waterworks factory on the Boiling Isles.
"Well, I'm sure you didn't take this into account!" Luz called out as she and Amity let out their Synchro Chips while Azura and Hecate went back to the PETs of their respective NetOps.
"SYNCHRO CHIP IN! DOWNLOAD!"
"Wait, you too?" BubbleMan asked before Luz and Amity held their PETs out.
"CROSSFUSION! GO!"
Luz let Azura's armor manifest itself onto her outstretched arm as at the same time, her left arm started to gain her same gauntlets. Spreading them out, Azura's boots appeared over her legs, right as a purple over-shield appeared over her top chest. On her back, a set of two stars split in half appeared, acting as a pack for her, before she crossed her arms, allowing her Navi Crest to form and place itself on the center of her chest. As soon as it did, she spun around, her black bodysuit appearing beneath. She turned around and grinned, Azura's hat appearing over her head, followed by the sides of her helmet forming. Holding out her right hand, the MagiBuster appeared, which she spun around. Spreading her arms out to the sides with her staff set aglow, her CrossFusion came to a close, a confident grin on her face.
Amity grinned and held her arms out, letting Hecate's Navi Crest pass through her, giving her a black bodysuit. As soon as it did, she thrust her right arm to the side while her left arm gained her Navi's gauntlet. The same happened for her other arm before letting Hecate's boots digitize over her feet. Raising both arms into the air, she brought them down, letting her helmet appear before the crescent moon chevron manifested itself. Spreading out her arms now, her Navi Crest flew onto her chest, followed by her hair being undone and coming out the back of her helmet as a ponytail, followed by her blue tailcoat falling around her legs. Spinning around, she ended her CrossFusion with both arms opened to the sides.
"Wait," Lilith said as Luz and Amity turned to her. "The salesman Tibbles was also reported missing. Where is he?"
"Oh, that piglet had a use in my plan, as the tail end of the spring for the final springboard!" BubbleMan gloated. "I couldn't find any more springs when getting them, so I stole him and shoved him in the mountain, where his tail, which is surprisingly very strong, blub, will launch this snow-covered bubble into the clouds! Blub-blub!"
"You put a demon into a mountain?!" Lilith exclaimed before looking to her Maverick Hunters. "Fly on up and see if you can find Tibbles, and get him down! We've got BubbleMan!"
Steve, Severine and the other Maverick Hunters all nodded before their staffs transformed into hover bikes. Getting on, they flew up to the mountain as BubbleMan let the hose on top of his head let bubbles out.
"Bubble Parade!" BubbleMan called out.
"Be careful of the bubbles!" Luz called out as she took a step back. "Each one either explodes on you or has a trap inside of it!"
"Good to know," Amity replied before aiming her LunaStriker out. "Waning Spread!" she called out, firing several spreading shots that hit several bubbles, popping them and revealing the trap Viruses inside of them. Immediately, they jetted at her, getting her to fly out of the way while Luz took cover.
"My turn!" Lilith called out, running at BubbleMan. She slammed her staff down, causing the rest of the bubbles to scatter around, before firing several lightning spells at BubbleMan, who narrowly dodged, but was unaware that the cord was slightly cut.
"Hey, watch it, lady!" BubbleMan yelled. "You're being really mean right now!"
"I'm mean?! I'm not the one about to spread boiling water from the clouds on top of everyone!" Lilith snapped incredulously.
"He's like that a lot, don't let it get to you," Luz said before charging forward and slashing apart more bubbles. "MagiBuster Striker Mode!" she called out, letting her blade shine before slashing at BubbleMan.
"Taste my bubbly fist!" BubbleMan called, punching at the blade. However, once he did, he felt his fist and started to blow on it. "Okay, ow, ow! Didn't think that one through!"
"Head Witch, we found Tibbles wedged into the mountain. He's stuck in here tight."
Lilith took out her Scroll PET and looked to see Steve being the one to have called.
"How tight?" Lilith asked.
"Like his entire body is in the mountain, and his bottom is sticking out," Steve said as he and the rest of the Maverick Hunters looked to the situation with confused expressions. "BubbleMan is right, though. His tail is incredibly stiff, and acts just like a spring."
"Aqua Shot!" BubbleMan yelled, shooting several harpoons at Luz, Lilith and Amity.
"Incoming!" Luz called out, pushing Amity out of the way while Lilith sent several spell blasts while taking cover. Luz and Amity found cover themselves and joined in the counterattack.
BubbleMan let a bubble-wrap barrier surround him to protect himself, just as Odalia regained consciousness. She looked to BubbleMan and tried to tackle him again, but as soon as she did, her weight caused the cords to snap, and the bubble started to roll up the hill, rolling over her until she was flung from a nearby springboard all the way back to her office, crashing into Blight Manor.
"Uh-oh," BubbleMan said. "It's too soon!"
The bubble continued to roll itself up the hill, eventually getting covered in snow. Due to the high speed it was rolling at, though, it veered off-course and off the slope, right at a springboard and back at the slope, only to fall off and hit another springboard, where it was launched to another one.
"Well, what do you know?" Luz asked as she, Amity, Lilith and even BubbleMan himself watched the snow-bubble bounce around everywhere. "I didn't even think it was resilient enough to make it up."
"Yeah, me neither," BubbleMan said as their heads continued to follow the random bounces that the snow-bubble made. "I thought something bad was gonna happen to it for sure."
"Hey, thanks for letting me borrow this pogo stick and the barrels of monkeys from the Human Realm." An elf said to a sixty-nine eyed demon, unaware that they were in front of another springboard.
"Yeah, those Blight Twins gave these to me for a great price," the sixty-nine eyed demon replied back. "And nothing can make me regret my life now."
At that moment, the snow bubble hit the springboard, which also hit the pogo stick and the barrels, which were actually gunpowder. Upon hitting them, an explosion went off that sent the two demons flying while the snow-bubble was launched with enough force back onto the slope and right at the springboard with Tibbles' tail behind it, now at a higher speed than before.
"Heads up!" Severine called as all of the Maverick Hunters got out of the way.
The now-giant snow-bubble pressed itself into the springboard before getting launched high into the sky. As it did, Tibbles was pushed through the mountain and sent tumbling down, crashing all the way to the bottom.
The Maverick Hunters' heads jerked as they heard each crash before seeing him ending up covered in treacle over his body and with pebbles and hay sticking to him, making him resemble a woolly bear.
"I really need that retirement plan." Tibbles said in a dazed voice before fainting face-first into the ground, with the hay puffing into the air.
Luz, Amity, Lilith and BubbleMan continued to watch the ball as it was flung into the skies. Soon, it made its way at the clouds, where a loud boom was heard.
"Luz!" Amity called out as rain started to fall. She made her way towards her and grabbed her, starting to create a magic barrier around the three of them. However, before she could finish it as soon as Lilith made her own barrier to protect herself, she felt some rain fall onto her, but nothing happened.
"Amity, Luz," Lilith said as she turned to the two. "You're… alright…"
"What's happening?" Amity asked as her full visor appeared over her face, with Luz's full visor appearing on her face afterwards.
"I think it's our CrossFusion armor," Luz replied. "Back in the Human Realm, it just protects us from climate locations, like the cold conditions of Sharo or the intense heat of the magma in the Earth's core," she recalled. "But here… I think it also protects us from Boiling Rain!"
"You may all be protected from my boiling rainstorm, blub, but what about everyone else?!" BubbleMan called out.
"He's right!" Luz exclaimed, her eyes going wide as witches and demons ran out of their flooding homes. "The water flows across the Boiling Isles is still reversed!"
Quickly, Amity held out her hand, summoning screens of Willow and Skara, both of whom were trying to protect whatever they could at their own locations from the overflow of boiling water.
"Guys, CrossFuse now!" Amity warned. "CrossFusion protects us from the Boiling Rain!"
Luz felt the sides of her own helmet ping and pulled up a screen of Eda, King and Hooty, all while the Maverick Hunters went to try and protect as many people as they could from the weather.
"Luz, I just saw a giant snowball, or snow-boulder, get flung all the way to the sky!" Eda exclaimed. "You alright?"
"Thanks to CrossFusion, we…" Luz started out before noticing the interior activity of the Owl House. "Wait… why isn't the water overflowing where you are?"
"Oh, is THAT what's happening across the Boiling Isles now?" King asked. "Yeah, Eda doesn't use the same water that everyone else pays for."
Luz simply blinked, as did BubbleMan, but in disbelief.
"What?"
"Yeah, I'm connected to a different water source," Eda said as several others taking cover from the heavy downpour noticed the call. "You have any idea what the charge for normal water from the Boiling Isles is? I'll use my alternate source to keep a good resourceful system going any day!"
By now, thanks to Luz and Amity being in contact with their friends, and now Edric, Emira and Alador, everyone had heard this and stood in stunned silence.
"Why do I suddenly regret saying that out loud?"
"GET EVERYONE TO THE OWL HOUSE!" Luz and Amity yelled to the Maverick Hunters and Lilith as more Maverick Hunters arrived to get everyone to better safety.
"Sister, house everyone at your home, and all of the Isles will forever be in your debt!" Lilith called before looking to Willow and Skara, using the warp point entries from their homes to get their families to the Owl House quicker. "Do what you can to reverse the water flow back to normal! I'll handle the denizens of the Isles!"
Willow and Skara both nodded as Lilith flew off, still with the barrier over her head.
"Gus should be getting back from his trip to the Backbone soon," Skara said. "Once I get in touch with him, we'll head over to any of the three factories and set the flow back to normal together."
"Luz, fly to Latissa and fix it there," Amity said as she sent some data to her, which entered her crest as it then flowed through her visor. "I've got Bonesborough."
"Wait, where's BubbleMan?" Azura asked.
Luz and Amity turned to where BubbleMan was, seeing he was now gone.
"Worry about that later," Luz said. "Right now, we have to stop the Isles from getting flooded!"
Amity nodded before tossing out her LunaStriker. "Speeder mode!" she called out, turning it into a speeder before racing to the waterworks.
"DashCondor!" Luz called out, flying onto a Fishy Virus and flying to Latissa to fix the water flow there. As soon as she was en route, she pressed her helmet, pulling up Eda on a screen. "Eda, how are you holding up with everyone?"
"Didn't expect to host a party, but Hooty is making room for everyone," Eda replied. "Do what you gotta do, Luz. I've got things handled here!"
"Thanks," Luz said as the screen closed, right before another screen came up with Gus and MirageMan on it. "You done at the Backbone yet, Gus?"
"Yeah, and we'll share what we found later. Skara and Melody already filled me in on what's happening," Gus replied. "We've got the next town. You fix Latissa!"
"I know I can count on all of you," Luz said as the screen once again closed. Soon, she arrived in Latissa, and crashed through the window into the waterworks, seeing everything backed up and damaged. "Gotta fix all this fast. WhiteWeb, Battle Chip In!"
Summoning two WhiteWeb Shooters under her wrists, Luz sent the sticky substances towards all of the pipes, sealing them back up. Webbing up even more, she made her way across until she came across the systems, shooting a red laser from her visor.
"I'm in," Azura said as she digitized into the systems. She looked around before spotting the main power source. "Guess BubbleMan was so used to being around the real world that he didn't think to check the MagiNet servers," she mused before her hat twirled around, allowing her to repair the systems. "Switching the factory settings back to automatic. Pipes are now closing, and the flow is going back to normal."
"Good," Luz said as she saw everything return to normal back in the real world. "Amity, we're heading to you. Did you spot BubbleMan yet?" she asked as she got Azura back and made her way out.
"No, but his friends are getting in the way of my path to the main server!" Amity grunted as she used her LunaStriker to shoot away several water Viruses trying to get close to her. "They redirected me to the other town nearby! Get Willow, Skara and Gus to get Bonesborough, they're closer than I am!" she requested before her blade turned into one with electricity. "ElecBlade!" she called out, slashing more of the aqua Viruses into Deletion.
"Hey, we found BubbleMan!" Willow called out at the Bonesborough waterworks. "Guess he didn't make it far after escaping you guys! He went to try and make some permanent damage to this place before we could get the chance to fix everything!"
"And I would be getting away with it too if it weren't for you meddling witches!" BubbleMan countered as he shot at Willow, who kept using her Leaf Barrier to block his attacks while using her Rose Buster to fire back.
"Almost got all the systems back, and the pipes are now working again," Gus said, using a Yo-Yo arm to get everything working again. He turned to Skara at the monitor. "Skara, how's Melody doing there?"
"Not guarded indeed!" Melody remarked, blasting through several more Aqua Viruses in the systems before grabbing several music notes as she leapt into the air. "E-Major Blast!" she called out, sending forth a melodic series of notes that caused the Viruses to explode. "Bard Arrow!" she called out afterwards, turning her Lyra String into a bow and shooting several arrows at the rest of the Viruses, Deleting them instantly. "Now, for the system!"
"GardenBlade, Bamboo Charge!" Willow called as her GardenBlade's blade turned to pure green. Twirling it around as she dodged bubbles from BubbleMan, she slashed through them before trying to slash at him, only for him to back away.
"No, you're not getting me again!" BubbleMan protested as he sent more bubbles to attack, only for Gus to charge and slash through them before Skara joined the fight, sending Bard Arrows at him that forced him back down.
BubbleMan landed with a thud, nearly falling over the railing. He turned back and used his Aqua Shot to force the three back, but as he was firing all around, Abominations formed from the draining water around him, revealing Amity riding on a wave and turning the water to Abomination slime.
Sending the slime at BubbleMan, Amity began to force him back even more before Luz crashed in again, armed with a ZapRing over her left arm and a CustomVolt over her MagiBuster Blade. Slamming both down, she sent a surge that BubbleMan narrowly dodged, but not enough as some of the sparks from it caused him to crash down below.
"Your plan failed, BubbleMan, it's over!" Luz called out as she, Amity, Willow, Gus and Skara landed together, all aiming at him. "Surrender."
"Not a chance!" BubbleMan panted, trying to summon more bubbles.
"Prepare to fire!" Luz ordered.
"Not so fast."
Everyone gasped before bats flew in and sent them all back. They looked up to see ShadeMan standing in front of BubbleMan, his bats returning to him as BubbleMan looked to him in surprise.
"Master ShadeMan! Your backup plan worked!" BubbleMan exclaimed. "I knew you were never gone, blub!"
"For once, you showed up to do your own dirty work." Gus spat.
"Sometimes, the matter is just that important," ShadeMan said. "Come now, BubbleMan. It's time to leave."
Amity thrust her hand out, causing something to land on both BubbleMan and ShadeMan, right before they digitized out.
"Everyone alright?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, we got everything back to normal," Skara said. "For a small guy, that BubbleMan sure is persistent."
"And now, he's back with ShadeMan," Luz said. "Let's head to the Owl House and check in on everyone. Hooty should have made a couple rooms for those whose homes are still drenched."
At the Palace of Darkness, BubbleMan looked around in awe, with every other Darkloid looking to him strangely.
"Wow, it's almost like the original, but better," BubbleMan mused. He turned to the Darkloids watching him and pointed an accusing finger. "What are you all looking at?!"
"Don't tell me he's the right hand now." SerratEnby complained.
"At least he managed to cause some actual damage to the Isles." Pandora mused.
"The position for the right hand of the Darkloids is still open, but until then, I now have an heir apparent," ShadeMan said. "As one of the original Darkloids, you will answer to BubbleMan for anything you have for the future. Treat him as you would treat me, or else…" he said before slashing a nearby pillar, cutting it into a dozen million pieces.
Immediately, all of the Darkloids bowed in respect. Lurerre looked to them in surprise before copying their actions, all while BubbleMan's eyes watered joyfully.
"Finally… I'm being shown respect!"
At the Owl House, Luz and her friends watched the last of the Isles residents leave. They turned to Eda and Lilith, walking from the kitchen.
"Thought they'd never leave." Eda mused.
"Thank you for stopping this," Lilith said to everyone. "While we advise everyone to take care with the Boiling Water not having fully evaporated, we should have all homes completely freed of Boiling Water within the next few days."
"While I'm still here, then, I should probably tell you what MirageMan and I found at the Backbone." Gus said.
"What is it?" Luz asked.
"A Dark Chip facility, larger than even the Palace," Gus said. "But we couldn't get close to it. The darkness there is too strong for me, and I couldn't even navigate half the way through."
"Well, I guess it's time for us to take over." Eda said as she turned to Lilith.
"Wait," Hecate said in the MagiNet as Azura and the others turned to her. "This is odd…"
"What is it?" GardenMan asked.
"Amity placed Tracking Sensors on ShadeMan and BubbleMan," Hecate explained. "But… the location doesn't make sense."
"Where are they?" MirageMan asked.
"On a server… at Hexside."
