Daika City.
The liberation lady with the long silky hair and black eyes was squaring off with me in a street between a bunch of houses. Behind her were a ton of grimacing goons and a few ladies. She was holding out her hand all dramatic and stuff.
"Our dormant liberation warriors have spent their days training. Forging their bodies and minds all to better live as the people they really are."
Live as the people you really are? That's awesome!
"So it's irritating to have you guys just waltz on in - with no great cause or ideology - and start hogging the headlines. Are you not keen on being interviewed, Himiko Toga? I'm afraid that's too bad. I haven't backed down from a good story since my first year in this biz. I hope you understand, Himiko Toga, that I will strip you bare."
He he. Does she hear herself?
Whatever. Better take care of those goons.
"I couldn't care less about the League, but you…you're a different case. A girl gone mad! The story would make for an amazing article. Why, I haven't felt my blood pump like this since back in the days when I was on the beat-"
Didn't take much to slice her sidekicks' necks and get ready. No need to get some stupid interview. You're all gonna bleed.
UA High
The thing that had burst out of Deku's glove was whipping up through the surrounding area as Midoriya's teammates and rivals gasped - it was blasting far enough away to hit even us, while pulling him along by the arm.
"Deku!" I gasped.
"Stop it, stop it!" He was screaming, writhing around in the pain, clutching his arm and sweating.
No -
I moved, somehow, without even thinking. I had floated up to him and wrapped my arms around his, to stop his movements.
My parents always looked exhausted. It was rough.
So when I first saw a hero in action, what I really noticed were the expressions on everyone's faces. I loved seeing people happy. So it was only natural that I'd want to help people who looked like they were in trouble. But it made it all the more difficult because it was only natural.
"If I can't save one little girl right in front of me, then how can I ever hope to be a hero who saves everyone?"
When I saw him struggling, with the odds stacked against him, it got me thinking.
Who protects the heroes when they need protecting?
I had got him pinned down and told him, "Deku, you gotta calm down!"
"I can't - stop it!" he cried.
The stuff was bursting out of him, blasting all around us more and more. Deku can't control it.
I looked to the side and spotted him, standing ther.
"Shinsou!" I shouted. "Brainwash him! You need to stop Deku!"
Shinsou looked a little uncertain, but then shouted "Midoriya!" Pulling off his voice changer and smiling. "Let's fight!"
"OK!" Deku responded - and froze. Brainwashed. The quirk receded at last, pulling back into him. I realized that my helmet had been knocked off in the confusion.
"Deku! Hey, Deku!" I called his name, slapping him awake. "Are you okay? Hope I didn't slap you too hard!"
"Uraraka - get back, it's too dangerous!"
"Shinsou's brainwashing helped calm you down. You're fine now, right?"
"Uraraka, you're hurt! Gah, what did I do?" he gasped.
From behind him, Monoma leaped into action.
"Hm? I'm afraid this match isn't over yet!" And he swiped at Deku, who ducked out of the way in time.
"Monoma!"
"I've got this!" I told him, running at Monoma - Gunhead Martial Arts
More resized weapons came flying at us!
"Are you two ok? What was all that?" Said Yanagi.
"Nice poltergeisting there!" Said Monoma.
"That wild black energy ruined all our plans," said Tsuburaba as he and Kodai ran up, pursued by Mina and Mineta. "Eat this!" Cried Mina, then to us, "Midoriya, URaraka, everything ok?"
"Everyone's here!" I cried out. "It's an all out brawl!"
Shinsou's scarf cam e flying at me out of nowhere, but Deku was there in time to stop it, grabbing the end. Shinsou pulled back on the scarf, dragging Midoriya forward with him; he let go and fell onto the ground.
"Deku wasn't strong enough to resist?" I gasped, leaning over the edge of the building to look at him.
"I might still be a danger to you guys, so there's no way I can use my quirk now."
"Then let's retreat for now! We'll figure something out!"
"Retreat? That means losing! Shinsou's up there waiting. This is my chance for victory!"
I jumped down to join him. "But Deku, you can't really mean that you're gonna fight quirkiness?"
"Nope. But I'm gonna need your help, Uraraka. Make me weightless. That way I can sneak up and get in Shinsou's face."
Monoma was tossing objects at us and kept trying to get close enough to swipe one of our quirks.
"Your power is mine!" He shouted, and I remembered that earlier he had slapped Deku.
Oh no! You can't be serious - not after what you saw Deku's quirk do!
"Wait, Monoma! That's too risky to -" I started.
"Too late!" Monoma shouted, but his attack didn't seem to do anything.
I slammed him down and shouted to Deku, "That wasn't your power, Deku! It's a bluff! Now go!"
"Sheesh, I drew a blank," muttered Monoma.
"Monoma!" Shouted Shinsou, now it was time for me to float Deku up to him.
"Release!" I called as Deku trapped Shinsou's scarf.
"Last time we tangled like this was at the Sports Festival!" Said Shinsou. "It won't be like last time! I'm not the same as before, Midoriya!"
He had wrapped the scarf around barrels above him and pulled them downwards on top of Deku, just like Sensei would!
Oh no - Deku -
And Deku's strange black quirk tendrils and emerged from him again, but this time - not as dangerous weapons, but as a tool he used to seize the barrels and save himself.
