We went on with the interviews after that, Mt. Lady bringing everyone up on stage.

"I am the one who runs at a breakneck pace to inherit the mantle of my brother Ingenium!" Said Iida.

"Great! I can really feel your sincerity!"

"I bring encyclopedic knowledge and a powerful memory to the table," said Yaoyorozu when Mt. Lady asked about her skills, and demonstrated with an impressive new move.

"So confident! I'm reassured already!" She told her.

Then it was my turn.

"Congratulations, Uravity! Great work here today!"

"Gee, thanks!" I said, realizing I probably came across as silly - I was even blushing, darnit! - but kept trying to smile.

"Tell me, what kind of hero do you want to be?"

That was the question she'd asked everyone, and I'd been trying to think about it. I didn't usually have a clear answer to that like Deku or Todoroki do. What kind of hero do I want to be?

Think about it. What do I want? Deep down, I want to make people happy.

I placed my fingertips on my helmet and took it off. Then activated my quirk. It began to float, and so did I, turning upside down and giving Mt. Lady a great big smile.

"The kind that makes everyone feel better when they're down! Nothing feels too weighty when I'm around!"

"Lightening the mood is a talent all its own!" she smiled back at me.

I placed my fingertips together and said "Release" before I could float up too high, and managed to land mostly gracefully. In the crowd I could see I'd done it, and all my peers were smiling and even giggling.

"What kinds of special moves do you have?"

"Well, my favorite so far is my Comet Home Run," I replied, "but I'd need a lot of equips to show you that."

"Hm," said Miss Midnight. "Wasn't that the same move you were using when you first arrived? Have you modified your moves in any way?"

I tried not to choke up. Crap, I hadn't really tried anything new...

"Well...I've got a few I'm working on!" I said, smiling, faking it till I made it. What ideas did I have?

"What are they?" asked Mt. Lady.

"Erm-" I looked over into the crowd and spotted Deku, who was watching me pretty closely. Deku and that weird move he'd done... "I'm thinking of finding a way to grab onto stuff remotely so I can float it!" I blabbed, remembering Deku grabbing those barrels with his trendrils.

"Fantastic! What a creative idea! You'll need an item perhaps to pull that off!"

And with that my interview was over. Phew! At least I did better than...

"I ain't gonna waste time on sound bites! Just shaddup and follow me!" Shouted Bakugou.

"You're a better interview alone, got it? You just don't mesh at all with humans…." Said Mt. Lady.

"Sorry," Todoroki apologized. "I guess they cut you from the interview because I was there."

"You think you're hot stuff? As if I care what you say about me!"

"Maybe he should follow your lead and just avoid the media altogether," said Midnight.

"No," said Sensei. "I think there's someone better for him to emulate."

And poor Deku didn't fare much better as he went up for his interview.

"You go by Deku, right? I saw you in action!"

"Hey, that's great! Really great!" He said, sweating like crazy.

"Any thoughts on your performance out there?"

"Hey, that's great!"

"He's mastered his hardening quirk!" Said Kirishima.

"He's so nervous," said Tsu. "He isn't used to this sort of thing."

"Many of your moves seem to be homages to All Might. Is he a hero you admire?" Mt. Lady asked.

"YEAH!" He shouted.

"So that gets you going?"

"But - I'm not just copying him! I'm actually customizing All Might's moves in ways that suit me best like take my Delaware smash for instance, named for a state not in All Might's repertoire and recently improved to come up with the smash Air Force and aversion that -"

"ENDLESS MUTTERING!"

"What about that move that burst out of you?" Said Midnight. "I heard you've made some progress. How's that going?"

Midoriya raised his hands as if about to do something.

We all waited. Is he -

A tiny little whisper of black came from his fist. That was it.

"Admittedly, that was just a tiny one, but it's my first step towards controlling it, so little by little, I'll -"

"Seriously?"

He left the stage and rejoined Todoroki. Poor Deku...

But that move - can I really do it? Can I - actually use that move?
