You are going to need to remember chap 26 for some of this chapter. I can't ignore where I left off there any longer too many chaps in between cause V-day took me so long.
Daily Prophet: The paper features a morning and evening edition, the latter of which is called the Evening Prophet. The weekend edition is called the Sunday Prophet. Additional news bulletins can be delivered quickly when important, newsworthy events occur. As news changes, an edition may magically change, too, over the course of the day, probably by means of a Protean Charm.
Totally stole speech from 7th movie and used it for my own purposes
Ok the actor Ricky Wilson who plays Dirk Cresswell is cute. Sorry not sorry. Cannot help it.
What does the eye of Horus mean? The Eye of Horus, also known as wadjet, wedjat or udjat, is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. ... The symbol "was intended to protect the pharaoh [here] in the afterlife" and to ward off evil.
Chapter 32
February 15 Finally!
Severus awoke before breakfast still feeling emotionally drained from the previous night and wondering how the mage would respond to him this morning. He sighed rubbing his head and forced himself to get up and ready for the day. He checked the monitoring charms on his spare room and luckily the boy was still asleep. He sat down with some tea trying to sort through the memories he had seen and felt last night. He was so confused. He now understood that these mages were the current ruling body of half of Egypt that lived in secret to the rest of the world and would be officially ruling the Egyptian magical enclave in June.
Severus sighed and pulled some parchment out he had to write down what he saw. It was all just too much to process. The scenes he saw though made no sense why was Atem trying to go into the afterlife in the beginning? He felt the boy's reluctance and sadness in those moments and yet he would have done it had the others not convinced him to stay. Atem was the reason shadow magick even in existed in this day in age. How? And those Millennium Items chose the mages, what was that all about? Those things were definitely more than they seemed. Severus wondered what kind of powers they had.
What he had learned about Ryou Bakura was insanity. The boy was being possessed by some ancient Egyptian tomb robber. That really explained so much in potions class. Had Atem been a spirit too? Was that why he was trying to go to the Afterlife? If so then that meant he was not just Pharaoh now but had been in Ancient Egypt which could mean he was the one who locked shadow magic away 3,000 years ago. This made the most sense since they had to make an identity for the boy. He didn't exist in this modern era before the events in that weird tomb that held the gateway to the Afterlife.
It was all so confusing they were talking about 3,000 years ago as if they all had lived it, even Kaiba. The clans Atem ruled over knew the mages secrets. It seemed their secrets were not so secret in Egypt. Everything just seemed to be kept from the rest of the world. Albus was going to have a fit if he found out that new shadow mages were soon going to be emerging. This did not bode well. If Dumbledore convinced others that shadow mages were evil, he could instigate a war trying to wipe these mages off the face of the planet.
Severus kept writing everything he saw and making notations where he had questions or assumptions. He idly wondered what the book of Ammun-Ra and Millennium Spellbook were. He assumed the second one had something to do with their items since they had the same names. After he finished writing everything down, Severus stood and stretched. He figured while the Pharaoh was out cold he should get Moody to the infirmary before the Headmaster found out he had just left him there on the cold ground. Hopefully the Headmaster was not back from wherever he was at the moment. He ran into Minerva on his way to the interrogation room.
"Good morning Severus. Have you heard any word from the Headmaster yet?" Minerva asked worriedly.
"No I have not. I do not know where he or Umbridge went off too but I would assume it was together based on how they were acting when I saw them last."
Minerva pursed her lips. Where would they have gone together unless they went to the Ministry of Magic? But…to be gone all night long?
"Well thankfully it is Sunday and we can keep the students quarantined until we get everything sorted out. Do let me know if hear anything."
"Of course." Severus said stiffly thanking the gods she did not ask about Moody.
Severus hurried to where he left Moody's body and quickly got him to Pomfrey. When he entered the room it looked as if there were far less patients than when he had left last night. He deposited Moody to the section where the soulless students were and told Pomfrey that he had no idea how Moody had lost his soul. He did not want to try and explain that to the stern woman. He checked on Harry and Yugi who were still in the healing coma but completely stable. That was a relief.
Severus attended breakfast promptly at 7:30 a.m. with the rest of the staff who just sat and ate quietly until the Daily Prophet arrived.
Daily Prophet: Early Morning Edition
Hogsmeade Massacre
Notorious Sirius Black strikes again. The infamous Azkaban escapee is rallying old Death Eaters to his side and are on the attack. Just yesterday he and his cohorts attacked Hogsmeade and destroyed half the town. The magical community's fears are coming to fruition. It is also unknown as to why Black attacked Hogsmeade but we can assume he is asserting his role as the new leader of the Death Eaters. Is Black the next Dark Lord we will have to endure? Are we on the brink of war once again? He has already turned the Dementors against us. Proof of this is their attack on The-Boy-Who-Lived at the beginning of this school year, a random attack in Japan in December (or was it? This reporter intends to find out more), and now this our beloved Hogsmeade attacked by Death Eaters and Dementors.
If that was not bad enough, eyewitness reports said that there was also a giant dragon assisting Black and his followers. It decimated the town but eyewitnesses say no one was burned, the ones hit by this monster's flames went into a coma. St. Mungos is still trying to figure out what this creature did and how to help the victims. Has Black rallied foreign magic users to his cause? It is rumored some of the more uncivilized magical communities can summon evil creatures to do their bidding. Wouldn't this be ironic seeing as we opened our community and generosity by allowing transfer students from two barbaric magical communities in hopes to help them learn to be more like our enclave?
Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge has this to say, "The ministry is doing everything to find these criminals and capture them. We do not know as of yet what their goals are. We ask the magical community to remain calm but be alert and cautious.
We do not know how many fatalities there are as of yet from this unexpected massacre. But one can assume the numbers to be high just from the damage that was wrought upon the town.
St. Mungos is currently overflowing with comatose, injured, and dead citizens. Students were all accounted for and there have been no fatalities amongst the students. Injured students are currently being treated by Madame Pomfrey due to the overflow at St. Mungos. The Deputy Headmistress is available to contact for any further questions regarding the students.
Minerva fumed after reading the paper. She waited until it was just her and Severus left in the room and began ranting angrily.
"This isn't right Severus. We need to turn that boy into the Ministry and let the dementors have him. The rest should be brought to justice as well. They work for you-know-who and yet we are harboring them. Albus is just too kind for his own good sometimes. We should never have taken these teens in." Minerva huffed.
Severus cringed internally. "I know you are upset with the mages but Dumbledore wants them here and we must trust his decisions. Besides the mage didn't kill anyone they are merely in comas. Perhaps the coma patients will awaken in time." Severus said trying to calm the woman so she didn't do anything rash like turning the teens into the Ministry of Magic.
"I understand that we must trust the Headmaster but do not make light of the situation! You know as well as I do that those in the comas lost their souls! Isn't that worse than death? What if they cannot be returned?"
"I am sure the Headmaster will find a way Minerva. We must have faith." Severus said frustrated with the lies the old man had told the others in the Order.
"I should probably go check in with Lupin and make sure all is well with him and the mages." Severus stated wanting to get away from Minerva while she was in such a mood.
"Good luck Severus. I have to deal with angry parents and check on my Lions. I hope the Headmaster returns soon." Minerva said as she left the teachers' lounge as well.
Mages Dorm
Severus truly had no idea what he would be walking into this morning. They did not know about what happened with Atem yet so hopefully he was safe for now. He found the mages sitting across from Lupin glaring hatefully. 'Oh joy pissed of mages, not unexpected but still…'
"Where is Atem and when can we see Yugi?" Seto instantly demanded.
"Everyone is still on lockdown because the Headmaster has not returned. You will be able to see Yugi once the Headmaster has returned and Atem is sleeping off exhaustion in my quarters." Snape answered glancing over at the white haired mage to see his eyes gleam at the mention of the Headmaster.
"What is going to happen next, Snape?" Akefia asked worried about when the old fool did come back. Atem had taken a lot of souls. This was not going to go over well.
Severus eyed the boy. Still the Tomb Robber. He wondered what the spirit's name was, but he couldn't ask, at least not yet. Bakura watched Snape study him and frowned. He knew something or suspected something.
"I do not know. Obviously the Headmaster will want to know what has happened but how he will react I cannot say for sure. Regardless you all know there will be repercussions. Have any of you read the Daily Prophet yet?" Snape asked changing the subject hoping to curb their aggression and protective sides.
"No, why would we?" Mana asked curiously.
Severus sighed and gave everyone a copy including Lupin and waited.
"This could be bad." Marik said quietly still not feeling one hundred percent better from yesterday and his visit with the Dark Lord.
"If they can identify Atem, they will hunt us down and accuse us of working with the Death Eaters." Seto finished realizing the implications of the accusation of foreign help. These people hated non-conformist enclaves. Egypt was the red headed step child of the magical world.
"Indeed. Hopefully there are no witnesses. Lupin why don't you tutor them while we wait for the lockdown to end. Ishtar come with me. I will take you to the infirmary. There you can see Yugi and get further treatment, you look like Hell." Snape stated bluntly.
The others groaned but agreed it would help keep their minds off of everything. Marik followed Snape out sedately. He dropped the boy off to Pomfrey explaining that he had treated him for exposure to a cruciatus curse from a Death Eater that had attacked. He didn't think telling her that he had been face to face with the Dark Lord was a good idea. Severus dreaded heading back to his quarters where a pissed off fully powered mage was waiting for him but he could avoid it no longer.
Gryffindor Dorm
Hermione had awoken earlier than others which was none too surprising. Everyone had been up late scared of what had just happened. She herself had only slept because she was in shock. She was trying to wrap her head around what she had seen last night. Draco and his gang were…dead? She was not sure what had happened and the twins were not ready to share. She assumed she would be made to wait until they could all gather together and speak. She tried reading to keep her mind off of everything. Unfortunately she was interrupted by Ron who had just come down from his room and was blocking her light.
"Please move. I am trying to read." She snapped trying to hide her nervousness at being anywhere near the boy.
"That's all you ever do. We need to spend more time together." He said as he tried removing the book from her hands.
"Get away from me Ronald! I want nothing to do with you." Hermione snapped.
"We think the lady has made her point. Back off dear brother or you may be making a visit to see Madame Pomfrey sooner than later." Fred threatened as the twins walked up to Ron and Hermione. They grabbed the boy and hauled him away from her.
"What is your problem? I am just trying to talk to my friend." Ron yelled as his face turned bright red from his anger and humiliation.
"Pretty sure she said she wants nothing to do with you. Now back off." George snapped losing his normal calm exterior.
"You will regret interfering. I will tell Mom." Ron snapped as he stormed off to the opposite side of the room.
"We are sorry for our brother's behavior, Hermione." George said sadly feeling completely betrayed by the fact that half his family was in Dumbledore's pocket.
The twins sat down close to Hermione to make sure she was safe from their younger siblings feeling completely dejected.
"It's not your fault. They made their choices and I know it hurts because they are your family but you cannot force them to suddenly have a moral compass. I know Harry thinks of you two as the brothers he never had and so do I." Hermione said trying to show them there were still people who cared about them.
"Thanks, Hermione. We love you both like younger siblings as well." Fred said as he smiled at the girl grateful for her words.
"We will make sure Ginny and Ron cannot hurt you or Harry anymore." George said with a determined glint in his eyes.
"We need to figure out what compulsions are being used to try and control him." Hermione said as she showed the twins the book she was reading about just that.
The twins nodded in agreement and started reading her notes. They would help Harry. If he didn't want to fight then the Wizarding World be damned. No one was going to force him if they had anything to say about it.
Severus' Private Quarters
Severus walked into his living room and sighed he was going to have to face the mage. He wondered if the boy was awake and what he would do in retaliation for the stolen memories. He went to the door and unlocked it. As he entered the room he saw a fully dressed and glaring mage. Severus glanced around the room and noticed scorch marks near the door. So Atem had tried to leave the room.
"Come you must be hungry." He said and then quickly left the room assuming the mage would follow.
Atem followed the man to the small kitchenette area. He was given food which he ate silently still seething from last night and worried. There were a lot of details in his recent memories that gave far too much information and the man was smart enough to put two and two together. Once he was finished they went into the living room and sat across from each other. The air was tense as they stared at each other before Severus finally broke the silence.
"I need to know what the shadows are." Severus sharply stated as he sat down across from Atem.
Atem glared daggers at the foolish man. "My secrets have been kept secret for thousands of years. Tell me why should I tell anyone, let alone you when we have kept this knowledge erased from history and away from the outside world?"
"Because that's just it, if you do not tell me your secrets willingly my so called masters will find a way. You are not the only one they can target. Your secrets may not be widely known but enough people know, don't they? Your people in Egypt will suffer for your unwillingness to cooperate." Severus argued trying to get the Pharaoh to see reason.
"Do not dare to threaten my people. If anyone goes after my subjects I will bring the might of Egypt against this entire enclave and happily watch it burn." Atem promised.
"The more I know the more I can misdirect the Dark Lord and the Headmaster." Severus argued worried about the threat. This young king would follow through to some extent if pushed too hard and could he blame him if he did?
"No. You have seen too much already. I cannot allow you to tell anyone anything you have learned from my memories let alone give you more information." Atem stated bluntly.
"And what do you intend to do? Erase my memories? You will never get past my defenses." Severus snapped warily getting ready to pull his wand and defend himself if need be.
"Unfortunately erasing your memories is not an option. I do not have that skill. So your freedom it is." Atem said regretfully as he stood and called upon the shadows to bind the man.
Severus stood as the mage did and pulled his wand. The shadows came at him fast and he had to dodge just to avoid getting hit.
"Anakatus" Severus snapped out hoping he actually hit the mage. Nope of course he dodged.
"Arretica" Severus tried once more only for a wall of shadows to appear and block the spell.
"Snape you cannot win this fight. Make this easy on yourself." Atem snapped dodging another spell the man sent his way.
"NO! I will not have a third master. Conflicting orders will get me killed." Snape argued as he cast Deflecto and Devincio hoping to stop the angry mage without hurting him.
Atem dodged away from his reflected spell. Having had enough he pulled a magic card from is deck, "Swords of Revealing Light."
Severus was frozen mid-spell. "What did you do to me?" Severus asked not understanding what these swords made of light that were surrounding him actually did.
Atem stood tall once more calling on the Shadows once again pushing Snape against a wall and trapping him there. Once the man was secure he answered the man's question. "Relax it just was a spell to keep you from attacking me."
"Now let's see about binding you to me shall we." Atem said in an almost monotone voice really not wanting to do this but what choice did he have? Bakura was the only one who could erase memories and he didn't know if it would work since it was short term memories. Too much time had already passed.
"Please do not do this. I have been trying to protect you all." Severus grit out trying to get the Pharaoh to see reason, and trying to not show his true fear. He knew he would most likely die in this war but that didn't mean he wanted to die and certainly not before he was able to redeem himself.
"I know, which I appreciate, but your vow to the old fool is too binding. It has to go." Atem said as the eye of Horus began glowing on his forehead as he began to concentrate.
He grabbed both of Snape's arms and focused on finding the magical strands that bound him to the Headmaster. He let the shadows flow between the two of them as the shadows sought out the vows binding magic and began to erode them away until there was nothing left of them while he mumbled in ancient Egyptian. Severus felt the magicks weaving in and out and severing the vows he had made to Dumbledore. He couldn't believe it. How was this even possible? He was free of the Headmaster.
Severus had a gob smacked look on his face. "I don't understand. You released me from the Headmaster's service." he questioned wondering how he hadn't died from the vows being severed.
"I cannot very well force you to try and balance your life with three masters now can I? Now let's see about your other master." Atem replied.
Now panic did set in. "No you must not free me. No one leaves his service. It is death if they try to. He will kill me for betraying him."
Atem paused sighing, seeing true fear and panic coming from the stoic man. "I will not let any harm befall you. Dumbledore will have no clue you are free unless of course he has fully recovered from his ailment…and Voldemort will know but you will not be leaving the castle anytime soon."
Severus rolled his eyes at the mages description of what had been done to the Headmaster. He was pretty sure being drugged did not fit under the definition of an actual ailment. He was still not sure about his current predicament, but he could not break free of the shadows that were holding him so he resigned himself to whatever his fate may be. At least he would be free of the Dark Lord but how could he help with the war if he was not a spy.
Atem saw the resignation in the man's face and almost broke down and told him he would not be bound forever but refrained reminding himself this was a punishment after all. So he would let the man stew for a little while. He studied the dark mark and let his magick wash over it testing its defenses. This was not going to be easy he realized as Snape winced in pain when the magicks touched one another and that was just the top layer.
"I will have to be very aggressive to remove the mark and claim you as mine. He will know you are being forcibly taken from him. This may sting a bit." Atem warned.
Atem concentrated on the dark mark once again and magically attacked it severing each layer one by one with a message being sent to Voldie that said MINE. He ignored the screams of pain coming from his captive. This mark was a piece of very dark magic. He couldn't help that Severus was in excruciating pain. Atem smirked though thinking about Voldemort who would have one hell of a migraine once Atem was finished because of his connection to his followers. Voldie fought back when he realized what was happening but Atem stomped down on Voldemort's magic and won. Atem smiled in triumph and finished removing the mark entirely.
Atem looked up to the man who was nearly broken between yesterday and today it was a wonder the man hadn't just given up.
"Severus, I know you are hurting in more ways than one. We are almost done. I promise, this next part will not hurt." he said trying to assure the man.
Severus looked the mage in the eyes surprised at the boy using his first name. Had he actually won the boy's respect? Severus swallowed and nodded his head.
Atem was not looking forward to this. This was a combination of his light and shadow magick each divine in its own way, but his mastery over divine light magick was just not there yet. But as per the Gods if he was to ever enslave someone by binding their will to his then he had to use both combined. It was not meant to be an easy spell and was harder on the caster than the recipient.
Atem closed his eyes and began chanting the ancient language of his people. Light and shadow formed in his hands as he began melding them together. He grabbed the older man's left wrist and slowly a tattoo formed of hieroglyphics encircling his wrist as Atem was chanting. And last but not least the Eye of Horus formed on the underside of the man's wrist. The symbol of protection. Both Atem and Severus felt the magick settle in them as they now became master and servant.
Atem released Severus and went to sit down on the couch. He was tired. That took a lot out of him as it rightly should for what he had just done. He was feeling the consequences of the bond he had created. He could now feel the emotions coming off the poor man. Snape's pain and inner turmoil was giving Atem a headache.
Severus followed suit and sat down quietly not knowing what to do or say now. He idly wondered how binding this magick was and whether he had any free will left.
"Severus, this is not the end of the world. You have not lost your free will. Well mostly. You will be unable to ignore a direct order from me nor will you be able to betray me or my priests in any way. Otherwise your actions, loyalty given or not given, and snarky personality are your own."
"And what are my orders?" Severus ground out not happy in the least with this situation.
"You will not leave this castle without express permission from me. You will not speak of the memories you stole from me to anyone but me or my priests. You can tell the old fool about the memory of yesterday and twist it however you think is best. I see no way around that unfortunately. I am sure I will pay for my actions." Atem said frowning wondering what the old man would do. He knew his actions would not go unpunished.
"I will do what I can but I will not be able to protect you from Dumbledore's wrath without directly defying him which would do neither of us any good seeing as he is far more powerful than I am." Severus stated trying to find a way to help the mage.
Even with this new arrangement it had not changed his mind on how he felt about the mages in general. He was angry, oh yes, but he understood Atem's actions.
"I do not expect you to interfere. Let him think he still has a hold over you. It is safest that way for you and us. Honestly nothing has really changed. You just cannot spill my secrets and you will no longer be compelled to help that man because of your vows. Anything you do to help him is all on you now." Atem informed the man hoping to impose his will upon him as little as possible.
He wondered if he should open up the mental link they now had the option of. Would Severus even accept it if given the choice?
"You should know that you and I also have the option of opening a mental link between us. I will not force it upon you but it could be useful." Atem added after pausing for a moment.
"Can I think on that for a little bit?" Severus asked not sure how he felt about that. There were some definite pros to that but what were the cons? He was a private man by nature and did not want people mucking about in his head.
"Of course," Atem agreed. "I am assuming the old fool has not returned to the castle yet since you did not take me to him first thing. I would like to see my priests and explain the situation, before my powers are diminished and dealt whatever Dumbledore has is store for me." Atem stated shuddering at the thought. He was sure some form of torture was in his near future and the shadows hated being bound.
"You are correct, he has not returned as of yet. We can go to your dorms first." Severus agreed standing up to leave his quarters with the Pharaoh.
St. Mungos-Early Morning Sometime
Albus awoke with a start in a very unfamiliar bed. He slowly sat up trying not to move too quickly now that he was awake and very aware of the pounding headache he was sporting. It felt like a massive hangover. He looked around at his surroundings and realized where he was. What had happened? Everything was a bit fuzzy but he did remember a fire, scary clowns, something about an attack, and Fudge.
"Oh dear…" Albus mumbled as everything started coming back. What had he agreed to? Was everything alright back at the castle? Why was he here in the first place?
"Ah Mr. Dumbledore your finally awake I see." An elderly healer came scurrying in and began running diagnostics.
"Forgive an old man's forgetfulness but why am I here?"
"Oh you don't remember? You and Miss Umbridge were brought in last night by the Minister himself. He said you both had been drugged by some unknown attacker.
It is just dreadful what happened to you and the attack just terrible." The healer said.
"Attack? What happened?" Albus inquired dreading the answer.
"Oh that's right you wouldn't know. They probably attacked you and poor Miss. Umbridge to keep you from interfering. There was an attack on Hogsmeade. Here is a copy of this morning's daily prophet." the healer said while handing the paper over to the Headmaster.
Dumbledore took the paper and read the headlines. He paled considerably. How could this have happened? He had to get back to school and get the actual details.
"When may I leave Madame?"
"You are free to leave anytime. Oh but before I forget the Minister left a note for you when you awoke." the healer said handing him the note.
"Thank you." Albus said as he took the note and saw that he was to head directly to see the Minister and join him in a press conference before he headed back to Hogwarts. Albus internally groaned what had he gotten himself into and who had drugged him?
He got himself cleaned up, dressed, and checked himself out of St Mungos. The hospital was bustling. It seemed many people had been brought in from yesterday.
Albus was dreading this press conference that was unfortunately unavoidable. He finally remembered what he had agreed to. He had to throw Potter basically under the bus and support the Minister in his endeavor to blame Sirius Black for everything that has been happening. He was contemplating any loopholes he could take advantage of but unfortunately he signed some type of binding contract that guaranteed the idiot some support. At least some good came out of all this. Fudge had agreed to back off a bit at Hogwarts. He was still stuck with Umbridge but he and the undersecretary were agreeable in her just teaching and any concerns about staff would have to be dealt with by Fudge and Dumbledore together. Not ideal but better than what it was. He arrived in the Atrium and was promptly accosted by Umbridge.
"Oh there you are Headmaster! How are you feeling this fine morning?" She said sweetly.
Albus cringed inwardly. He was going to have to pretend that they got along now. "Much better. It seems you are feeling better as well Madame Umbridge." turning up his twinkling eyes.
"Oh yes. Much better from that dreadful drug. Cornelius is waiting for us. Come let us be on our way."
Press Conference
The Headmaster followed the Minister and Umbridge onto the raised staging area in the Atrium and waited until it was his turn to speak. He looked on at the huge crowd that had gathered to hear the Minister's reaction to the attack on Hogsmeade.
"These are dark times, there is no denying. But our world has faced greater evils and triumphed. There have been vicious rumors of he-who-must-not-be-named's return, but I am here to tell you that is simply not true. Here today, is Headmaster Dumbledore to speak with you about these vile rumors." Cornelius announced.
"Thank you Minister. While not senile like most of you would like to think," He joked, "I did give Harry Potter the benefit of the doubt when he said he saw Voldemort return. I must apologize to the public for enabling what was just a hallucination caused by stress and the trials of the third task. It was an unfortunate accident that Cedric Diggory lost his life to the third task as well. I will endeavor to support our Minister for Magic as he investigates this new threat to our community by the escapees of Azkaban." Dumbledore stated internally frustrated. This was not how he wanted things to happen at all. The people needed to accept Voldemort's return if they were to win this war.
"Thank you Headmaster for your honesty and support." Cornelius began. "Citizens we will not let Black and his cohorts drag us into another war. We will be cracking down on any suspicious or dark behavior. In effect as of today citizens may report any and all suspicious behavior to a new task force that has been created. (Cough-red flag laws-cough) These Dark Watchers will be led by Dirk Cresswell. We have promoted him to this temporary position but worry not he will still help with any Goblin issues that may arise. Cresswell and his task force will do whatever it takes to rid us of those who would threaten the people of this great community. I say this to our citizenry: We, ever your servants, will continue to defend your liberty and repel the forces that seek to take it from you! Your Ministry remains, strong." Cornelius stated triumphantly.
Kaphiri smirked as he made eye contact with Dirk and then turned away to leave the conference. "And the people applauded for their "glorious leader" having no idea what is truly happening. The beginning of the end is upon them." he whispered in Egyptian.
Kaphiri returned to his brethren. They had not heard back from the Pharaoh about the assassins and goblins yet. Kaphiri assumed based on the wizarding news his Pharaoh had not had a chance to check email lately with all that had happened. He prayed to Ra that everyone was alright.
AN: This is not where I was going. I do not know if this is the path I want to take with Snape and yet this is what came out. We shall see. I would love some input. Did anyone get the movie reference from the last chapter or is the movie to old? Regardless of age it is so well known.
