The next day… I made Bella promise to confront Edward or I would do it myself but Eddie boy decided to not attend school today. I bet Bella was glad she didn't have to confront him.
The rest of the week was quite uneventful. I had gotten used to the routine of my classes. In gym, I did very well in volleyball, I was good at sports. Edward didn't show up, the rest of the Cullen's would come without him. The pixie, Alice would sometimes wave at me which I find weird because I have never talked to her and have only like seen her in Lunch and Government but I wave back at her anyway. I spent a lot of time with Charlie and Bella for some reason I felt a very strong connection to both of them, they felt like family to me. I worked on the weekends at Newton's shop and I was accompanied by none other than Mike Newton. I didn't really like Mike, he is a bit too over helpful.
All in all, I was feeling very comfortable than I thought I would feel.
I walked out of the class, the air was full of swirling bits. The wind bit on my cheeks and nose
"It's… snowing?"
"Yes it is…" said Willow, my bestie. She was a bit shorter than me, she had russet-colored hair and green eyes. She also had freckled scattered about her slightly tanned face
I felt a smile form on my face… it's snowing! I then saw my other best friend,
"Hey, Bella!"
"Hey" she replied. She had a look of disgust on her face
"What? Don't you like the snow?"
"No… that means it's too cold for rain," obviously. I was about to reply until a big ball of squishy snow smacked my head.
"Gotcha," I turned to see a Willow with a mischievous grin plastered across her face.
"Oh, it's on," I said and scraped together a pile of snow and ran after her. Bella used the binder in her hand as a shield which I have to admit was hilarious.
Throughout the morning, everyone chattered excitingly about the snow; it is was the first snowfall of the New Year. Bella, Willow, and I walked toward the cafeteria. Both Willow and I had ice melting in our hair and clothes but we both just laughed about it. I saw Bella freeze, I followed her gaze to the table in the corner. There were 5 people at the table… wait 5 I then saw him, Edward… he was laughing with his siblings. All had their hair saturated with melting snow. They were enjoying the snowy day just like everybody else.
I looked at a nervous Bella who was looking at me
"You promised Bella, it's for your own good," I said to her reminding her of the promise she made about confronting Cullen.
She nodded her head in determination although I knew she was nervous and probably wouldn't do it.
I gave her a reassuring smile and sat down at the table. I felt the same feeling in my head but this time it was more of a poking feeling. My 6th sense wasn't nuts anymore.
"Edward Cullen is staring at you" Jessica giggled.
"He doesn't look angry, does he?" Bella asked in a low voice
"No," Jessica answered confused "Should he be?"
"I don't think he likes me," she confided. I mentally rolled my eyes.
I ignored their conversation and looked at Edward. Just then he looked at me and flashed a crooked smile. I was in shock… he then looked away.
"Hey Dani, you ok?" Jessica asked. I nodded
"Yeah, yeah" I replied
I really need to focus on my classes… I thought. All I could think about was if Bella confronted the jerk… did he say something mean to her? Did he apologize? Do I have to go kick some sense into his sorry ass? The final bell rang. Yes!
I practically ran toward the truck.
"Bella!" I half screamed. "What happened? Did you talk to him? What did he say? Was he acting like a jerk? Should I go kick his butt?" I questioned.
"Slow down, Dani. I will explain in the truck. Now get in,"
I got into the truck. And Bella started the truck, she looked around to see if it's clear. I then noticed a still white figure, Edward. Bella threw the truck in reverse and almost hit a rusty Toyota Corolla. Bella looked at me and both of us took a deep breath. I saw from the corner of my eye, Edward laughing. And by the looks of it, Bella saw him too because her face looked like a tomato.
"Soooo?" I asked impatiently "Did you talk to the guy?"
"Yes, well he talked to me…" Bella said
"Wait, what?"
"He introduced himself and we talked," she said
"Oh," was all I managed to get out. First, he is a jerk and now a gentleman; he reminds me of a lizard I thought.
"So you hate snow?" I asked
"No not really, I just don't like the cold or wet," she answered honestly. I was glad she was being honest with me.
"Folks must be a difficult place for you to live," I replied
"You have no idea, what about you? Enjoying Folks so far?" she asked
"Yes, I am in love with Folks… it just gives me a sense of freedom and the forests are just breathtaking," I answered. She just smiled
"You coming for dinner, tonight?"
"No not today, gotta lot of work," I smiled. I got off the car.
"See you," I waved
"You too," she waved back
