I was back home by about 10, just as I was about to close the door.
"Hey"
"Jesus!" I said dropping my keys on the floor.
"Oh my god! Stop scaring me like that" I said placing a hand on my chest, he looked… depressed.
"Edward, are you ok?" I asked picking the keys from the ground. I walked towards him and placed a hand on his cool shoulder.
"Im not" he answered going towards the living room. i followed in, he melted on the couch.
Something bad must have happened I thought. But what happened?
"Bella… got hurt" he forced out, it sounded strangled almost as if it was killing him to say it out loud.
"What? What happened?" I asked worriedly. My mind feared the worst. No. no, Edward would never let that happen.
"Bella had a paper cut and Jasper lost control…" he went on to explain what had happened…
"Why on earth would you push her towards glass?" I asked slightly irritated. "You could have told her to run or or shield her!"
"Edward… it would have been much worse if you didn't catch jasper," I said in a small voice. It wasn't his fault but…
"It isn't your fault," I said rubbing his shoulder in comfort.
"Dani…" his face looked pained. "If Bella… never met me… would things have been better?" I was taken aback.
"Vampy, If you or Bella never met each other" I took in a deep breath "… Yes. She would have been safe but… she would never be the Bella, she is now… you make her happy…" Edwards smiled softly at me.
"Thank you, witchy," he said with his crooked smile.
"Just so you know… You are my best friend and my sister" he said making warmth bloom in my chest.
"I know what to do now…" he then murmured sadly.
"W-what are you going to do?" I asked, a bit scared of whatever was in that mind of his.
"Time will tell, witchy… How was Seattle?"
I went on to tell him about everything but eventually, he had to leave, apparently, he wanted o discuss something with his family… and I headed to bed.
Yet the question of what vampy was planning nagged my mind even in my sleep.
