This story begins at the end of the summer that was just beginning at the end of New World.Jason's little brothers are growing up and he doesn't think he's ready.

Jason and Joshua find a note from Jeremy. He says he has left and he will never return. The two oldest brothers search for their youngest sibling. Where is Jeremy? Will Jason and Joshua ever find him?

Jeremy and Candy have two children, Jennifer 6 and Jasper 5. A man shows up at their home asking for a drink of water. Candy is worried for her son Jasper because he takes walks at night. She says her cousin Albert did the same thing. Up at camp, the tent collapses and Jason is trapped underneath. A howling is heard, and someone appears in the center of town around midnight.

Jason and his brothers were walking back down the path toward Seattle when a man stepped out from under a tree and in front of them. "Pardon me, I am looking for Jason Bolt?" Jason said he was and the young man said "I am Jamie McConnell Bolt! Jeremy and Joshua both looked at their brother and said: "Jason, what have you been up to?"
