Care Not, Save Lots 1 - (Magical Girl Xover, Akumatized!SI)

Warning! This story will contains multiple Mahou Shojo series, starting with: Miraculous Ladybug.

Paris, the city of Love and... two French Heroes, I guess.

I don't recall how I wounded up in this place, but I could tell that this wasn't the same Paris I was accustomed to.

The place was too... at peace. And it had heroes. Like, legit superheroes.

I wouldn't say as many as 'The Avengers', but there is a common view that this was unique but not absurdly new. New York had tons, I heard. And, while the background behind my 'arrival' in this place was not clear, my current living situation was dreadful without any shroud of a doubt.

I barely had enough documentation on myself to not get escorted and given the boot out of the country, and I struggled to make my life 'officially work' within the new situation I was dealing with. I had no place to live at, and I was already facing issues finding a job, even a limited part-time one, within the first week.

A dreadful situation that kept on giving me trouble.

And then, almost ironically, I was given a tool that make survival feasible: I was 'greeted' by a strange-looking butterfly.

I can give you what you need. You only need to claim the source of powers of Ladybug and Chat Noir.

Its sweet words carrying so much bullshit that I could spot it miles away. But I felt intoxicated by the strange allure produced by the odd entity. And as I nodded, compelled by an unknown force pulling at me, I felt my body twist and transform.

Not even a minute later, and I was glancing at myself through a puddle nearby. I was in an alley, which was a good thing since I doubted anyone would be so keen to have someone like me around at the moment.

I looked like an alien. Humanoid and bipedal, yet it felt like my body was born with a natural scifi armor. Gray and red, my eyes were yellow and glowing as their light reflected from the puddle itself.

How do you feel, Angelus?

Curious name, I blinked for a moment as the inner voice, now masculine and human, drew me out of my thoughts.

Incredible. But I have a question... sir.

Which is?

He sounded impatient, but I was stuck in a genuine dilemma.

Can I de-transform at will, or would I lose my powers?

I can't leave this place in this form. Some would ignore it, but if my goal was to win, then dumb brute force wouldn't do.

You can. But... Why?

You want me to claim those two's powers, yes? Why would I want to play too fair into their childish hero vs. villain game?

There was a pause. A lengthy pause. Then I heard a convinced hum.

Makes sense. But I will be watching your steps now.

Ominous, but I could tell he couldn't read my mind. If he did, then he would know of my few inner questions on how do I break away from his control while keeping these powers.

While I could tell these were 'borrowed', the potent effects they had on me was not lost to my mind. I hardly felt hungry, my body felt extremely fit, and I could see properly without needing glasses. This was... brilliant. But I was aware I couldn't be a villain.

No, I refused to be one, especially for someone with a reputation to not care for the level of destruction other minions had caused to Paris in the recent past.

With that in mind, I slowly found myself phasing back to my original body, and I felt a wave of relief hitting me right as intensely as the 'displeasure' of being back to normal. A ugly feeling, but one that reminded me of how intoxicating that form was despite its delightful feeling to it.

I moved out of the alley, glancing around nervously as if expecting to be caught by my two 'targets'. But there was no sight of them. I just found myself walking around, thinking on what I should do to get their attention and... not get in a fight with them.

A confrontation this early on, especially with two experienced teenage heroes, sounded dangerous for someone like me. The 'Akuma butterfly' may have granted me impressive physical skills mixed with knowledge of said boosted physical abilities, but I was not stupid enough to consider myself 'above' or anywhere 'near' those two in terms of potential power.

I had to test them out, and I had an idea to get more info on their timing in intervening over trouble.

After turning to a nearby alley, I was back to my 'Angelus' form. Walking out of it, I fetched a small board and wrote on it with a black colored pen I had on myself. Soon I started moving around this small section of the city, holding the board as it said 'Hello, I am Akuma Angelus, I will help around for free'.

It didn't take too long, despite my appearance, for people to ask for help. Someone needed help lifting up their motorbike to change one of the tires, then I helped about with a car having issues with an engine, and then an old lady asked me to help her walk out of the supermarket and make it home undisturbed.

Some thugs did try to cause her trouble, but the old lady was spared much trouble as I carefully 'neutralized' the criminals without much of a hassle. And, by the time I was done helping around, I could tell the first step of my plan had worked as intended.

Switching out of my Angelus form, I found myself sitting by a nearby bar with a glass of hot coffee and some brioches to eat. I turned my phone on and looked around in social media for any mention of 'Akuma Angelus'. As I had predicted (and also seen as some people around took pictures of me wandering around), a small fraction of the internet was drawn to the hashtag #AkumaAngelus.

And not even a few minutes of 'taking a break' had gone by that I saw the two expected figures finally making an appearance.

Chat Noir and Ladybug. Both looked a bit tense, then wary, and finally confused as they looked around for any sign of my Akuma form. Everyone was enjoying the day all around, and I looked just as normal as the rest.

Why did you go through these lengths to... not fight them?

Hawk Moth, the name of my 'boss', didn't sound annoyed. Merely confused and intrigued.

Testing out the waters. These two seem to have a way to know when the Akuma strikes even when they don't cause issues. Plus, I want to know how much time they take to 'intervene'. If I can angle it properly, I can prepare a plan to trick them into a bad spot.

My reasoning was not just about that. I needed to know if I could give clues to the duo so they could rapidly take care of this big-shot villain and spare me. It was a bit of a long-shot, but if Hawk Moth got taken down before I did, I may be able to retain those powers.

But I needed to think on ways to achieve this without gaining the suspicion of Hawk Moth himself as he could see through my eyes and read my 'aloud thoughts'. I knew that I had to play it cautious and safe as I continued to study the two heroes and wonder (read as 'hope') they could handle a little 'treasure hunt' if I started leaving behind hints to where Hawk Moth was. If I learned where the guy was, that is.

Still, that worry didn't manifest as, after that tame encounter, I was told by Hawk Moth to present myself at the Agreste Manor. And I was soon talking to him in his civilian outfit. Gabriel Agreste- he was literally 'Norman Osborn', but with Mr. Freeze's motivation: to revive his comatose wife by acquiring the powers of Ladybug and Chat Noir.

The reason why he decided to have me around, give me a job, a place to stay at- it was all part of a smart counter to what he may have perceived out of me. I was smarter than previous Akumatized morons, and I was getting monitored to it. Sure, I was getting paid for it, and even given a place where to crash to, but that didn't mean I was now 'a friend' of his. He wanted me close, for the saying goes 'keep you friends close, and your enemies closer'.

Which is how I ended up becoming another babysitter to his son, Adrien.

What happens when a mid-tier villain is actually the SI, and he ends up playing the game 'so well' that he ends up booted out of the verses he visits?
