Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome. I'm a very big fan of Naruto, so I couldn't stand it any longer without writing my own fanfiction when I've already read a lot of them. This is more or less how it would turn out if I somehow ended up in the Naruto world (how I think it turned out) and how I would try to fit in. Without further ado, let's get to the story. Of course I don't own Naruto only the OCs.
,,nmhh" I let out as I slowly began to regain consciousness. As much as my head was throbbing, it was too hard for me to open my eyes or move, so I tried to slowly collect information about where I was with my other senses. It was obvious that I had been lying on the cold grass for some time considering how stiff my body was from lying in an awkward position. Around I could faintly hear the sound of the wind gently swaying the branches of the trees making a relaxing noise. The smells were mild, of partially wet earth , some floral tones that probably originated from wild flowers as well as the unpleasant smell of iron. ,Smell of iron!,
When it reached my brain, adrenaline suddenly went through my whole body, making me forget about the fatigue and the excruciating pain in my head. After I focused the rest of my senses a little better and opened my eyes wide, observing my surroundings at high speed. I was in a much denser forest than I remember, the sun could barely penetrate to the ground because of the large and noisy trees. The ground was quite uneven with a lot of fresh moss showing that this is hardly ever walked, but I could hear nothing but the rustling of the trees. There was no buzzing of bugs, no chirping of crickets, no singing of birds, no crunching of twigs in the bushes, absolutely no animal dared to speak, which meant that danger was near. I looked around a couple of times, trying to see if any of my friends, with whom I went hiking, were anywhere nearby. "This is not good, not at all!" the thought echoed in my head as I didn't dare to make any unnecessary noises.
I took a few deep breaths to calm myself down and be able to reason rationally, as I knew that panic would only make things worse. I first I quickly checked myself. My green and brown combat pants and deep brown combat boots seemed to be in one piece and there was no serious injury under them. I also checked my black skater and then took off my fingerless gloves and checked the condition of my arms and body.. I couldn't risk having an open injury without feeling pain because of the adrenaline, in these circumstances it could cost me dearly. My big backpack was still on my back, which could help me a lot since what my friends say ,, I ready for every sticky situation.,, Feeling my face and head for some injuries or knots while listening to myself for concussion symptoms. In the end there was just dirt on my cheek from lying on my stomach on the ground did nothing useful like a small scratch above the eyebrow. The good thing was that I was in one piece with barely a single scratch, but I was still lost and in an unfavorable and probably dangerous situation.
I slowly started to move strictly close to the trees and bushes to have as much cover as possible, with as light steps as possible, not wanting to make unnecessary noises. As I moved through the forest, the trees seemed more and more unnatural. The trees were twisted, the branches gnarled, the roots seemed to have pulled themselves out of the ground and tried to walk, despite the size of the trees themselves, which were as big as if they were priceless old, there was no lichen, no moss, no cracking of the old bark. The most bizarre thing was that you somehow you could feel a slight warmth and like a slight pulsation of energy from those strange trees. "As if they were alive." I mean, the trees are alive, but not alive in this sense. While I was moving through the bizarre trees, I could feel the burning in the air, and the smell of iron was getting stronger, while traces of blood and fire began to appear on the branches. , causing my stomach to wrap around itself and a shiver run through my body.
There were kunai and shurikens on the ground not far from the blood, which kind of threw me off track. ,, Who would use kunai and shurikens to fight in nowadays." I took one of the kunai from the ground and went to examine it, still having a hard time believing that someone would use something like this in a fight. In the background, as I was picking up kunai from the ground, I heard a crunch coming from not far above me.
Not a second later I jumped forward roll, avoiding the fall of the butchered body exactly where I was standing a moment ago. My instincts were still on and in overdrive until I didn't dare to let myself off the gas even for a second in this crazy forest. When I looked closely at the body clothing on the corpse, or what was recognizable of the clothing, it resembled a leather armor top and the classic black pants that went with it. Upon further analysis of the corpse and turning it over, there was a band on the shoulder with a metal plate on it and the Kirigakure sign carved into it. "What the hell is going on here." Even the most crazy fans of the Naruto series wouldn't wear this armband, especially not in a fight to the death. Although I noticed it wasn't an imitation, it felt pretty real, made of heavy metal. I shook my head to get unnecessary thoughts out of my head, focusing on more important things like getting out of this place before the guy who did this comes back and accidentally decides to cut me up a bit and hang it on the tree as a decoration on the Christmas tree.
I threw the band on the ground and continued sneaking on, never stopping to move, as more and more bodies appeared above me hanging from branches impaled like skewers. ,, ghhhnm" The moment I heard the sound I almost jumped out of my own skin while I was hiding in the bushes. However, everything still seemed calm to the eye, but never draw conclusions until you are absolutely sure that what you see is the truth. In this case, a possible trap. I waited in my hiding place for a few minutes until the sound repeated itself, but this time I could make out what it was.
The sound was coming not far from one of the bizarrely twisted trees. But it was clear that someone is hurt and that:,, one, he is hiding from whatever it is that dismembered these people. Two, he is seriously injured and they need help urgently...Three, I am totally freaking out, so I started making noises "From now on, the most obvious thing to me was option two. My options were clear, I could either ignore it and continue wandering through this forest until someone or something killed me, or I could take the risk of checking and hope whatever is not to make mincemeat of me the moment I get close to him. In that case, if I'm lucky, that person can help me find out where I am and maybe I can safely get out of this forest of death and find my friends. Thoughts were running through my head about what to do next, and in any case, she would have taken the same risk, and I have better chances with someone who leads her out of here than wandering around like a lost puppy alone.
It didn't take me long to get to the source of the sound, or rather climb, since it turned out that someone was in a hollow in a tree, about ten meters up. When I reached the cavity, or rather the cave made of the tree itself, where another five people could fit without any problems, in the farthest corner lay an almost motionless man. He appeared to be a boy, a teenager in combat gear with a white mask covering his entire face with red patterns that all together resembled a cat. I slowly got closer, not wanting to scare him and thus make all this difficult for myself and him. Kneeling next to him, I immediately began the examination, reading a mental map of what to focus on first. He had a long bloody cut on his chest that was bleeding, it seemed cold to the touch accompanied by shivering, and with all that, he seemed unconscious because he didn't react to my touch and movement next to the wound, which must have hurt a lot. I quickly checked the back and head, and then go for the limbs, which, apart from the fracture of the left shoulder bone, seemed ok.
First on the list was to take care of the huge wound on his chest, because apparently if it doesn't close soon, the he will die from blood loss. I placed the boy on his back and removed his gray leather jacket as carefully as I could, and then I pulled out my first aid kit from my backpack and cut the tight shirt he was wearing from underneath with scissors. The boy was lucky because my first aid is much more equipped than the standard, as I had everything needed to sew up the wound, disinfect it, bandages, as well as a couple of medicines from different groups and a few syringes in case there is a need to give injections. After I was done with the wound, I set about immobilizing his arm with the bandages left as well as a couple of branches that he was carrying around in the shelter. The only thing left after this is to hope that I didn't arrive too late and that he didn't lose too much blood.
After packing my first aid and putting it back in my backpack, I took out my denim jacket, which I folded and placed under the patient's head, and then covered him with a blanket. After that I took out the water bottle so he could drink as soon as he woke up. Blood loss is not something to be played with especially in his condition. Finally managed to catch my breath to relax for a few seconds when I realized that I still hadn't taken off his mask, but that was about to change. The moment I lifted the ceramic mask from his face everything suddenly hit me like a train and my brain started working two hundred miles a second. The person lying directly in front of me was Tenzo from Naruto but in his teenage years. Now everything is slowly starting to come together, kunai, band of ninjas from Kirigakure, strange twisted trees that emit heat and in this case chakra (life energy). How on earth did I get here, the last thing I remember before waking up is...
Flashback
"Maxi, I'm going to kill you for this." Shouted one of my best friends in black leggings and a dark blue hoodie with her long brown hair flying everywhere, Maya as she climbed the steep hill, barely able to catch her breath. . This was so typical of her, "Take the number, honey." I answered her giggling from the top of the hill as I watched her and the twins, Mai and Tai both dressed in red jumpsuits and leather jackets over them, trail behind her trying not to slip on the slippery hill and then have to start all over again with a few extra bruises and scratches. "This is the last time I went hiking with you! Do you hear me!?" I tried not to burst out laughing as I watched her angry red face as she shouted those words.
,, You say it every time but you're always either the one who suggests hiking or the first to go along with the idea and persuade the others ." Mai, the twin whose curly black hair was tied in a ponytail, stopped next to Maya and patted her comfortingly on the shoulder until Tai, the twin with her black curly hair flowing, spoke to her with a small smile on her face as she sighed deeply. "It's the management." This only annoyed Maya even more, but not us. She has always been like that, she complains about everything, but in her heart she always wanted the best for everyone, she just never had a brake on her tongue.
Tai was more discreet in the relationship the three of us and she always spoke only when she thought she needed to say something, however much she needed to say it, but privately, with us she had a bit more freedom.. She and her sister Mai work at the hospital as midwives and are the youngest in the group, for a couple months. Mai is shy and often unsure of herself and rarely speaks her mind, but we know her well and often don't say a word to let us know what she's thinking. ,,Come on Maxi, you know not everyone is crazy about nature and adventure like you. You could walk the whole mountain in one day if you wanted to." Tai commented as she reached out to me to pull her the last few steps to the top.
To some extent, she was right, I was always full of energy and on the move, even though my figure dose not confirms it. You see, while my friends here are all thin and good-looking, I'm a little chubby, and I'm also quite tall, so people would rather think that I'm the one who's lagging behind and out of shape than they are. But there a logical explanation for that.
Maya is a translator for books and movies and can speak ten different languages fluently. Her job usually required her to sit at the computer almost all day and she rarely remembered to take a break, which caused her thin figure to look like a ballerina. Oh, and she was a ballerina until she was thirteen, so that's a little bit of that. Mai and Tai mostly hang out in their part of the hospital and are on their feet all day rushing between tending to newborns, moms screaming in labor and splashing unconscious men becoming fathers. So the stress is killing them regularly, and the only hobbies they have outside of all this confusion is drawing for Mai and playing the piano for Tai. Maya mostly watches movies.
Me, on the other hand, have been involved in martial arts, survival, and mountaineering since I can walk. I also work as a middle school teacher and teach biology and chemistry. And on the weekend, I help my parents in their plant-based medicine shop. After all, I graduated from medical school together with my twin sisters, we just had different majors. And if anyone knows one thing about me and my friends, it's that we've been hanging out since we were three, which would be almost seventeen years in total , We are inseparable,.
When Maya finally climbed all the way up, with Maya's help, she fell onto her knees and began breathing deeply to replenish the oxygen in her blood. I know it wasn't anything serious, but I grabbed water from her backpack and held it in front of her face, waiting for her to take it in her hands. After she got herself together she gave me a deadly look with her green eyes and said.,, I fucking hate you!" Which drew loud laughter from the rest of us along with my reply, "I love you too sister." I knew she meant no harm, but it was kind of fun to return her threats with my cute replies. "Come on, just another kilometer or two and we've reached the viewpoint." I said enthusiastically while the other three groaned too dramatically, so much so that some thought I was forcing them to climb Mount Everest and not a regular hiking trail.
Anyway, despite defeating them we continued to walk for about twenty minutes and the rest we ran because Tai caught a small green lizard and started chasing Maya who tried to run as far away from the reptile as possible, while Mai and I slowly walked behind them knowing that they wouldn't go far. Maya may seem like a tough person, but when you put a lizard or a spider or a snake in front of her, she panics and is able to run faster than a bullet.
When we finally reached the lookout point, we were all lost without a text, and how could we not. The sun setting slowly behind the mountains painted the snowy peaks with fiery colors like embers while its rays flickered in the lake that stretched from the base of the lookout through the entire valley lying perfectly between the mountain ranges. Dense forests swayed in the mountain breeze while the sun cast a beautiful copper color on them, making this priory even more beautiful. The owls slowly began to call together with the songbirds that were singing their last song. "It was worth it," said Mai in a dreamy voice, who was handing me the camera and my rat to record this moment. The first few pictures were just landscapes from different angles, then we took a couple of group selfies on Maya's phone so that we could have some pictures together. An interesting thing with best friends is that you hardly have a single picture together, because you literally take a picture once a year and sometimes not even that much.
,,It would be wise to head to the camp while you can still see each other, it can be dangerous in these areas at night." I commented quietly as the others gathered their strength for the rest of the journey. Somewhere halfway to our destination, there was a small earthquake that shook us all, but luckily it didn't last long so we somehow stayed calm for a few moments before we dared to move. Earthquakes were not that rare here, they would always appear at least two to three times a year in our region, so I was not that worried. I was worried about what was coming after the earthquake. ,, Let's stick together and keep those ears open, there can often be landslides here with and without earthquakes Ok. "They all nodded, holding hands in the chain as we walked along a part of the path that was unfortunately exposed to easy landslides. "It's for these reasons that I don't like to go further than a hundred meters from my house." Maya complained in a shaky whisper, still partially damaged by the earthquake.
Fortunately, not a single accident happened to us while we passed through this area and we reached the bridge leading to the camp where we were supposed to spend the night without any problems. A fast river flowed under the bridge, furiously hitting the steep banks of its bed. As we approached the three Maya, Mai and Tai began to run across the suspension bridge swinging and making the planks creak with each step as they shouted loudly. ,, Finally, civilization./ Bed, here I come. / Finally, I'm dying of hunger." At that I just exhaled and smiled a little at their exaggeration and unnecessary dramatization, but I love them.
I was slowly crossing the bridge behind them when I felt a short shudder of the bridge, which collapsed by a couple of centimetres. My friends were looking at me from the other side and their pale faces were written in horror for a second when they realized what was happening. Seeing that Tai was about to walk towards me, I shouted at the top of my voice, which froze her in place along with the others. "Don't come any closer to me. Stay where you are." Maya immediately headed to the camp looking for help as fast as she could, while the twins looked at me helplessly not knowing what to do. ,, Shit. Maxi don't worry Maya will be back soon with help, just stay calm." I wasn't sure if that part was meant for me or them but I'm sure glad they stayed where they were and didn't move towards me. The bridge didn't seem like it was going to hold on for a long time and he didn't need the extra weight.
The bridge jerked a little more, making my adrenaline jump into overdrive. I took a deep breath and started to walk to the other side, not believing that the bridge would hold up long enough for help to come I respected my feet as I walked, almost dragging my feet, trying to distribute my weight and cause as few vibrations as possible that could accelerate the decay. In the last few steps, there was no more creaking, but the bridge began to literally collapse, giving no more time for resilience. I tried to quickly get to the other side while the twins were ready to catch me. But it didn't work. In the last moments, I saw tears running down Mai's cheeks as Tai shouted as loudly as she could. "Maxi... Mar..." while I was falling, the last thing I heard was how Tai was calling me by my name in the background, but not to the end because after that only blackness came.
End of flashback
I'm pretty sure that when it happened I fell into the river, and now I woke up completely dry and that on the ground and not on the bank of the river. The more I think about this, the more I feel like I'm losing my mind or in some very realistic dream. But if I was in a dream, I wouldn't have smelled smells, the environment would have changed faster, I shouldn't have felt heat to the touch. I can even dream lucidly, but that doesn't help me here at all, because I should have already changed things to something more positive and not to a horror battlefield. However, I should not waste my energy on what I cannot do but on what I can do. Let's go in order, since I took care and Tenzo seems to be slowly stabilizing, that's good news. Being the only Mokuton user in all of Konohagakure certainly won't leave him behind and dead for the bloodthirsty Kekei genkai rares, so I should expect a visit soon. And only time will tell if possible reinforcements from Kirigakure or the rest of Tento's ambu team will find us. Relatively neither option is the best as one could easily conclude at first glance that I am holding Tenzo as a prisoner while hypothetically waiting for reinforcements. And If we were to find Kirigakure first, I also don't like it because that village is nicknamed the Blood Mist Village for a reason. My best chances are that he somehow wakes up before anyone finds us and that while he is still unable to move, he somehow explains that I am not the enemy and then vouches for me when the others arrive. The only thing I can do at this point is wait.
