This was inspired by Koji Kashin... majorly, as well as Superboy from Young Justice.

One Month after Naruto left with Jiraiya

"What did you do Orochimaru?" Tsunade wanted to cry as he looked at what appeared to be Naruto, bound to his bed by wires and tubes. The boy had just been found, by Anko Mitarashi just days before, having rushed him to her care. "To think your minion would clone Naruto... to violate the laws that should have been sacred to even you."

Turning as the door opened, she saw Inoichi Yamanaka looking at him with conviction. "My Lady, what I have discovered... it changes everything."

"Explain."

He sighed. "As you know, genetic clones are forbidden for a reason. They cannot help but connect via chakra, and as such share specific attributes. However, due to Naruto's incredibly low spiritual chakra, this clone did not inherit Naruto's memories in full. Only his physical memories."

The Hokage frowned. "And that means?"

"The clone lacks Naruto spiritual memories which include love and hate and all other emotional connections. What he has is only physical memories, the technical attributes Naruto had. He knows how to fight, knows about the clan secrets, the Rasengan even. However, there is no connection... he is not quite a newborn, but he is not deeply experienced in anything."

She nodded, her medical mind kicking in. "I checked him, he could become the next jinchuuriki should Naruto die... I hate to say it, but we've never had the potential of another like Naruto. Someone that can pass on the bloodline of the Fourth and Uzumaki in full. This is a blessing, despite the violation... realistically, we should capitalize on this." And like that, as if the gods themselves heard her, the boy opened his eyes and Tsuande walked into the room.

"Granny?" He muttered, voice of the scratchiness Naruto had... and all of the exuberance. It was frightening for her, in so many ways to see that. "Where am I... why do I feel wrong, tired, but also... weak? My head, it's foggy, things aren't right. I... don't love you, like I should. I know I used to, that I am supposed. Even Naruto, that name, it feels... wrong... everything is so wrong in my head."

She sighed the boy's faint desperation startling her into action but also into deep sadness. "You are not Naruto... you are a clone, made my one of Orochimaru's minions. The one that turned Isarabi into the Demon of Sea Country, Amado?"

"A clone?" he asked, confused, eyes narrowed.

"Made from Naruto's blood, yes. He used it and the lingering pieces of Kyuubi's chakra in it sped up your growth like how it heals Naruto. It made you Naruto's age and kept you in decent physical shape, you are not at full power but not as far behind a ninja as you'd think. One blessing, really, should you choose to be a ninja. Since you also have Naruto's memories, you can be retrained into becoming a full ninja... should you wish."

The boy frowned. "It's literally all I know... but I need a name first, right?"

"How about Kagami? It means Mirror."

The boy shrugged. "Might as well... so... what now?"

"Now you rest, and in the morning we will asses where you are... and assign you a ninja sensei. You might have to train yourself for a bit, but we will see what we can do."

He nodded. "Why do I have Naruto's memories, I am not a shadow clone... right?"

"You share his cells, his physical chakra, so you've inherited both his physical memories as well as his muscle memory... in theory anyway. Now rest."

And so she left, pitying the boy so confused and hating herself for what just she just did to what almost added up to being an infant...

She was going the hell, that much was clear to her.

"Kagami...Kagami... Kagami." The boy muttered, over and over for what had to be an hour, adjusting himself to his new reality. It was oddly easy for him but still he was confused. "What happens next... I was Naruto, but I am not... anymore... I guess... I guess that's okay..." He sighed, his mind racing, irritating with how little he knew. "Why couldn't Naruto learn more, I feel so lost... knowing so little... maybe Iruka sensei was right, maybe I should study more, and maybe visit that library..." It was the that a nurse walked in. "Ma'am... I... I need something... to read, can you suggest something?"

She paused, eyes wide. "I was told Naruto hated reading...you must really be different and Tsunade told us... we have some books, you can read them if you'd like. They are for our more antsy patients."

"Thank you, miss." He would spend the next three hours struggling to read through a book about one of the many movies of the great actress Yukie Fujikaze, the now Ruler of the Land of Snow. Cursing, he almost threw the damn thing aside. "How'd we become a ninja if we can barely get through a book. I can't understand so many of the damn words... I really, really need to learn. I hate feeling so... worthless."

And like that, without meaning too, Kagmai Uzumaki sent himself on an entirely different path that the boy he was born from.
