CHAPTER 0 - OC's, Self Inserts, and Boobies
Hey, you! THERE IS AN IMPORTANT QUESTION AT THE END, SKIP THE UNNECESSARY INTRODUCTION IF YOU WANT, BUT GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
I am curious, hehe~
With that warning out of our way; good morning, afternoon, evening or night my fellow curious fan-fic enjoyers. Welcome to the first chapter of my attempt at a pretty stereotypical DxD story, with a stereotypical semi-self insert OC and of course with a stereotypical what if scenario if I were transmigrated into our favorite ecchi world (with surprising amount of world building and character depth). I wanna start by introducing myself and why I am writing a story based on this anime first.
22 year old male here, studying medicine in a third world country, main hobbies being of course anime, games, reading, working out and riding my motorcycle (a Yamaha R25 for my fellow 2 wheel enjoyers) (Fully blacked-out cuz I'm edgy like that), and most importantly I think, D&D and other TTRPG's. I have read so many great fanfics about this world that inspired me (and some that made me question my belief in humanity) so I wanted to take a shot in the dark with this whole writing thing and see if I can be a good storyteller.
Me definitely don't thinks me is fully informed in the details of the DxD universe. I mainly just watched the anime and read a shit ton of fanfics so I will heavily rely on the wiki to get some facts right. Of course this will be my interpretation of the world and story so there will be heavy handed changes in how the story goes. However it would be greatly appreciated if you could point out any inconsistencies about my story so I could patch it up (or grammar mistakes for that matter, English is like, my third language at this point).
Also feel absolutely free to criticize the shit out of me and my story. There is a primary reason for me writing a story in this setting, drum rolls please. I will gather my best friends who know nothing about the DxD universe and make them play a long term D&D game in this setting. Although I believe myself to be a god at game balance and combat, I kinda maybe perhaps suck at the dramatic storytelling aspect of it. Since this will be a form of training for me, any and all forms of advice and criticism will be cherished.
For the story introduction, I guess trigger warnings should come first. I am an edgy dude that is desensitized to gore, blood, multiple types of abuse and death, so those will be present in the story. I will however put warnings on lemons or if I believe extra triggering scenes like torture or SA.
In terms of the consistency with the actual world of DxD, it will basically be a 1 to 1 world until our main character gets reincarnated into it. The choices he makes (and his very existence) will reshape a lot of future events. For example if he were to kill a character like Issei as a kid, obviously the main plot of the story would be thrown off its course, so things like that will have consequences and I will try my best to create that consistency.
Being a nerd extraordinaire especially about superpowers and such, I will try my best to explore different ways to maximize both the MC's and other characters abilities. I will also try to create a power scaling for the series that makes a bit more sense then the original. Although I can appreciate the very shounen anime logic of 'my will to protect my family and friends is what gives me power' I personally enjoy it more when the power levels of characters are represented in a categorizable way. (What I mean is according to the main series there is a top 10 strongest list of beings, however the list is messy at its best and inconsistent at its worst).
For example Rias was mentioned as being a tactical genius, not quite the level of Sona, but still a genius nonetheless. But in the beginning of the series the cast are unable to beat someone like Riser whom you could easily damage by giving Kiba a light sword that Freed uses, and torturing his mind with light poisoning. Or simply teaching Issei to use swords since using his gear destroys his stamina. Or giving him a fucking shotgun if he sucks with swords, with those he would be able preserve his stamina, only boost when against Riser and gang up on him alongide Kiba and Rias. For being called a high intellect tactician, Rias only uses her peerage's most obvious strengths and focuses on nothing else. In a more consistent story telling either you would classify Rias as a bad leader, or show her being a good one. Now my monologue of bitching about power inconsistencies in a hentai world aside, good one me, I do have a question for those of you that read up to this point.
If you had the chance to be reincarnated in the DxD universe, and the deity sending you there gave you an option to choose a power with the limitations;
1- It has to be a power/race from DxD series
2- It cannot be a god/demigod
3- You can choose ANY sacred gear, the balance breakers will be unlocked eventually according to your will and wishes (So for boosted gear it might be transfering power while still boosting yourself instead of the Promotion Armor if you are a selfless person)
4- You can choose bloodline powers such as Power of Destruction from devils or Holy Lightning from fallen angels or Youjutsu from youkai, you have to be that race of course.
5- You will keep your knowledge of the series but with each decision you make, the world as you know it will change so your knowledge will become more and more useless. (You can kill Issei for his gear with the gear extractor for example but then a) the plotline might be completely irrelevant or b) Ddraig might decide to forbid you from using him since you killed his host)
6- You will start as a baby completely powerless and you will be 1 to 10 years older then Issei
7- Whichever power you choose, you will have a high affinity for it. (So for the Power of Destruction you would have a potential similar to Sirzechs, however you would still require the training to get to his level. But with any power you will be a genius in that specific affinity)
8- The rest of your affinities will be randomized just like every other character, so for something like Senjutsu, you might not even be able to use it if you didn't specifically pick it. But for something like Touki that is referenced everyone with enough training can use it you still could, it would be randomized how fast you actually can learn it.
9- Dragons are allowed as in the series their power is directly correlated with their age. Someone like Tannin is a dragon King but his descendants are similar to high class devils in power. The strongest of the dragons being almost ageless like Ddraig, Albion or Crom Cruach
10- You can not choose a mixed race from birth (Easy examples like being a half youkai for Senjutsu mastery while picking a Longinus from your human side) (Basically you have one wish, but you can't ask for more wishes from that wish) nothing stopping you from being a reincarnated devil later on though, just the starting racial option.
11- Your riches will be randomized (Let's say you were born into the phoenix bloodline, you might just be a bastard son and not have any heritage of your family name) however you can choose to start with a Legendary weapon instead of a sacred gear or a bloodline. You will have affinity with said weapon.
12- If you can find a loophole in these option, feel free to abuse it and shove it to my face
I am really curious as to what people will come up with, and with that out of the way; thank you for giving this story a chance and I hope I can give you some entertainment.
