No matter how hard she tried, she could not pay attention. Not that the family, not the house, not to the guy, or her own father.
This family took note of her vacant expressions. They voiced their concern about her and her loyalty. If she would use her power.
At that, she finally looked at them. "I am not a weapon,"
"Kagome," Her father snapped,
She stood. "No, you tell me I have a choice, a say, well I do, and I will not be sold off like cattle!"
"Kagome!" Her father stood. "Daughter!"
"You are so worried about him using my power, and yet you are using it as your pawn!"
Outside, Konna started to panic.
"Would you rather still be in that shrine!" Her father snapped "Do you not wish to have children of you own!"
"I can have children!"
"They would be half-breeds!"
"I like you just as you are, Inuyasha, as a half breed,"
Kagome went pale. A sudden coldness rained over her.
"Kagome?" Her father asked, concerned,
"Is she well?" The man asked, his fast twisted in not concern but disgust.
Kagome put her hand on her heart. It was racing. What was that?
"She is fine; I am afraid I am at fault; we have traveled a great distance in very little time," Her father said,
"She is supposed to be of great power yet can't travel; how will that fair during war?"
"What war?" She suddenly asked,
"Did they forget to teach you manners at that shrine, young lady?"
Kagome lit up. It had them all backing up and Sesshomaru coming in fast.
"Why you!" The man stated; he raised his hand, hell-bent on backhanding her. Her father moved to stop the man, though he wouldn't be near fast enough. It was stupid on the man's part to think he could harm her with her power-up like that. It didnt matter; his hand never made it to her shield.
Sesshomaru stood in front of her, and he had the man's hand in his own, and he was crushing every bone till the man went down on his knees.
Kagome touched his back. " Lord Sesshomaru!"
"Damn it!" He father yelled
A commotion could be heard outside. A young man bolted off his horse and into the house.
"Father!" The man barged in. He looked to be in his early twenties. He had a low short pontale, and his hair was dark brown.
Sesshomaru released the man as a bell sounded, letting the village know a demon had arrived.
Sesshomaru could feel Kagome and Konna panic.
"Damn it, demon, be gone!" Her father snapped.
Sesshomaru looked back at Kagome. "Are you okay?" He asked,
"Hia!"
"I must leave now,"
"Leave?"
He softly grabbed her chin. "If I stay, will you watch as I kill them all?"
She went pale again,
"Hn," He left. If he didnt, he would end up doing just that. His beast was riled up. Sesshomaru glared at her father and swiftly left. The men of the village tried, poorly, to shoot him with arrows.
The son of the man then looked Kagome up and down and then back at his father. "I told you I wouldn't be part of this," He said coldly, not moving to aid his father.
"Wait, you didnt know?" Kagome asked.
He looked at her. "I knew; I declined,"
"My son!" His father said,
"Enough!" His son yelled, "I do not have time for a wife!"
"But she is powerful," Her father stated,
The man looked at Kagome. "Are you as he says,"
Kagome folded her arms. "It won't help much, I won't be forced,"
"That is good," He said suddenly. His father wasn't happy. Her father wasn't happy. Hell, the guy didnt look happy, and Sesshomaru was pissed.
But suddenly, with very few words, she was happy.
"And the demon you keep?" The son asked,,
"I dont keep him;"
"He does not control you?"
"What, no!"
"Yet you seem to have control over him,"
"Does it look like I have control of him?" She did; she just didn't know it.
"It is dangerous. Power like yours, in the wrong hands, is dangerous,"
She has heard that before.
"He doesn't give a damn about my power; he has his own,"
"Neither do I," He turned. "You can leave,"
"With pleasure," Kagome said.
