Chapter 1: The beginning of his ordeal
Prequel
Ada looked at Leon trying as best he could to hold her as she slowly fell. She smiles at him. They were both going to fall at this rate, and then death wasn't that scary after all, she felt everything around her collapsing, she felt the pain in her shoulder caused by Annette's bullet, but she didn't take her eyes off Léon's. The desperate man refused to let go of her.
-Take care of yourself Leon. And with these words she deliberately let herself fall.
She violently hit one of the plots below. She screamed, the pain was excruciating, she knew she had just broken several bones. Her breathing was hasty, something was stuck in her chest, she looked up and saw that it was a piece of metal, stuck almost between her lungs, she groaned, letting her head fall back. She tried to think about her options for a good two minutes. His breathing was rapid and heavy. She was gasping for air as best she could, then she tried to stand up but at that precise moment, the plot collapsed too, she knew that the fall was going to be fatal, she was losing a lot of blood since the piece of metal it is dislodged at the time of the fall. She closed her eyes, feeling the air in her hair. Death was close, but she was not afraid, on the contrary. Suddenly, instead of feeling the horrible pain of the impact, she landed against something softer, even warm. She tried to open her eyes but she was too weak. She felt she was moving but didn't understand how, she felt foggy and lost.
-How do you find yourself in such a situation, Ada…She heard a male voice whisper to her. The movement lasted a little while. Then she smelled the fresh air, reeking of death. She felt horribly nauseous. She tried to open her eyes again, this time more effectively, and then saw a male figure above her, but her vision was so blurry. This face vaguely reminded him of something.
-Who is…She stopped and sucked in great gulps of air, almost suffocating.
Her breathing was labored, the person above her noticed. He then told himself that the situation was worse than he thought.
-Hush, do not speak. The words were dry and serious. This voice seemed familiar to him, however. She closed her eyes again, focusing on the air she so desperately needed. She was also worried about Leon, hoping that he would be okay. Her train of thoughts was interrupted when she felt the person lower her to the ground. From the feeling of a breeze on her skin, she must have been on the roof of a building. She could hear the moans of the creatures below, making her feeling of nausea worse. Once down, she shivered, the cool concrete beneath her making her feel cold. She found it increasingly difficult to remain conscious, she was cruelly lacking air, the pain was both more and more unbearable and more and more distant. But his foggy mind suddenly cleared when a cold pain gripped his chest. She felt herself screaming but heard nothing. The person had just hit his chest quite hard causing him to have a huge coughing fit. It was so painful to cough, she felt like her lungs, her ribs, everything was tearing apart. She rolled onto her side continuing to cough, while bringing her legs closer to her chest, she continued to cough dryly for quite a while but once the coughing stopped she noticed that breathing seemed much easier. Yet she was still so tired. She didn't even have the strength to open her eyes anymore. She felt herself bleeding out beneath her. She was getting colder and colder, even starting to shiver. Who was the person above her. Could she trust him? She didn't have much choice, the fall having weakened her too much and then this person knew her name. She wanted to fall asleep so badly. But she fought not to, needing to know who was there. Who was this person who could have caught her in the void? This is just inhumane. So it couldn't be Leon. Suddenly she thought of the G virus sample in the pouch on her thigh. The person shouldn't have found it. She struggled as best she could to stand up. But the person above her held her down without any difficulty. She seemed to be talking to him but the words were mixed up in her head. Fatigue then suddenly took over she felt the person's hands place on the wound in the middle of her chest, causing a new wave of pain, but the hands were so warm. She then fell into a painful sleep.
Days later, in an unknown location.
Ada felt her consciousness awaken, her body was heavy, but above all horribly painful, she groaned, but felt a hand on her forehead, placed gently, as if to tell her to calm down. She tried to stand up but that same hand held her in place.
-Don't move, you're not completely awake, you could hurt yourself. She finally recognized this voice, of all the people in the world, she didn't think he would be there next to her, why her employer would be there. She opened her eyes and was confirmed by the sight of his black sunglasses and that blond hair, Albert Wesker... He let go of her and walked away, a neutral look on his face. Where was she? What was he doing there?
-Wes…ker… Her voice was hoarse, the man then handed her a glass of water, she wanted to sit up again but he stopped her and straightened her medical bed so that she was in a semi-sitting position. She noticed numerous bandages and an IV line on his arm.
-I advise you not to move, during your fall one of your vertebrae was injured, you did not go far from paralysis. She just looked at him, he gave her the glass of water and she drank it, although with difficulty.
-Why did you save me?She asked coldly, the man smiled amusedly at her.
-Would you have preferred to die?he asked simply. She lowered her head and clenched her fists.
-I wanted it… I wanted to die, who are you to decide my life! She spat at him, the pain and fatigue had removed all mental barriers, she had known Albert for a long time, it was he who had sent her to the hell that Racoon City had become. She knew everything about man, for his inhumanity, his ambitions, his power.
The man was slightly dismayed although he didn't show it. Did she want to die? But why then? She had her life ahead of her, she was a woman of incomparable beauty, and limitless dangerousness, she could have anything she wanted, had Racoon City weighed so much on her conscience? He knew Ada, she was far from suicidal, what could have happened to make her want to get there. In addition, she had succeeded in her mission, he had found the G Virus that he had asked her to bring to her. So she had no reason to want that. He decided to stop thinking about that.
-You look like a baby bird lost from its nest, I thought better of you Ada Wong. She said nothing as her hatred for the man grew. He walked over and grabbed her chin while taking off her glasses. He then looked into her eyes with his piercing gaze. JI want you to work for me, and me alone. I want to have your ace up my sleeve. I saved you because I needed you, and you need someone to guide you it seems. Now you will be at my service for the long term. Goodbye Spencer, goodbye your mercenary freedom, you will be exclusive to me.
-I don't need anyone, as you said so well, I know how to manage on my own very well. She turned her head to remove her hand from her chin and tried to sit up only to feel excruciating pain in her back and chest.Damn injuries. She thought, her eyes narrowed in pain.
-That you are stubborn... I just told you not to move, you don't realize your state I don't think. As if to prove his point, he pressed on the wound in the middle of her chest to push her back into the bed, creating a large wave of pain.An injury to the L3 and L4 vertebrae, a gunshot wound to the shoulder, an infected wound to the thigh, a puncture wound to the chest that shattered three ribs and created a pneumothorax, and numerous smaller injuries. You don't even suspect the trouble I had to stabilize you, so stop mistreating the body that cost me so much to heal. He looked into her eyes coldly. She remained in deep thought before being cut off by the man's voice.I saved you, cared for you and housed you, can you put at least a little debt in your debt. There were then a few minutes of silence.
-I guess my life is yours from now on. It would be a shame to kill the person you worked so hard to care for.She knew that if she refused he would kill her. Then maybe it wasn't so bad working here.
-That's better. He smiled coldly. Now rest easy, you don't need to pay for the treatment, it's part of the payment for the G virus. The rest has already been transferred to your bank account. He leaves the room, leaving her alone in her thoughts.
She knew Albert, and when he wanted something he would do anything to get it, and he wanted Ada… she smiled slightly. At least someone wanted her, even if he only saw her as an object. Goodbye to his freedom as a mercenary, but the stability was perhaps not so bad.
She sighed, her recovery was going to be long... very long. But at least she was alive even if she thought she didn't want it, she was still relieved, shewill be able to check if Leonhad survived,It's all thanks to this man. Yes, from now on she belonged to him she knew it, he didn't give her the choice of following him or not, it was that or death. But working under these ordersdid not have doesn't look so unpleasant. She let her head fall back against the pillow as sleep claimed her. She had no idea that a few years later she would be very happy to be alive thanks to him.
