CHAPTER 1: AUDREY'S LOVELORN RETURN
Once upon a time, in the United States of Auradon, a princess fell from her lofty tower and found truth, evil and fear in the most despicable dank, dark recesses of herself.
Audrey's chestnut locks had been released from her tight ponytail: her square yet soft features lay reclined with them on two feather stuffed pillows. The room was comfortable yet did not compare to the tailored luxury of her school dorm, which itself paled to her castle bedroom. Still she slept soundly, swathed in spreads as soft
songbirds serenaded her.
They had followed her home from the castle to say goodbye, and although it seemed simple squeaks to a bystander, she was gifted enough to understand their poetry. Their merry and gentle tunes carried from the window as frivolous, radiant dreams of her and Bennyboo danced through her head. .
Their love was a fiery kind of passion, one that was alike to open gates slamming everyone else in the face, to which Audrey could run free through. It was like his firm grip when she skipped and twirled and not so accidentally fell into his arms. It was like having thousands of blooming flowers on her back, a crushingly romantic weight she would carry till their next dance, and the next, and the next.
Her dreams spiraled in vivacious technicolour, climaxing in a rude shock awake as all the fowl perched across her and tried to shake her awake. They had already laid out her outfit and were now tugging her in the direction of the bathroom. She went through her typical routine before swiveling in front of the mirror in her outfit, satisfied with herself.
"I'm ready."
She, this time holding an alabaster dove which she proudly ruffled, stepped her perfect patent pumps toward the elevator. Audrey happily beamed at the thought of returning to Auradon Prep, her immaculate pearls glinting in the harsh elevator light. If she could, she would immediately return to her school dorm and settle back in, but she was arriving a touch early and had an even better option; to stay for a night with Bennyboo.
Ding! The elevator arrived and she waved the bird goodbye with a sad purse of her vivid candy lips. The driver ushered her into the carriage once she had checked out as she settled firmly into the sophisticated carriage, as daisy stallions clopped the hackney forward.
