Chapter three:

Important things.

"Grab rations...as if I know what we should eat." Spat Granger.

He and Krulla walked the lower level of the Black Citadel. Busy as ever with fellow blood legion troops patrolling and other charr citizens making their way through the crowd.

"Well it shouldn't be to hard, I mean it's gotta be something that'll last us the trip there and back." Krulla tried to ease Granger's temper.

Krulla knew very well Granger's temperamental emotions. He once got so mad that he casted a lighting storm out of shear rage on top of himself to kill dozens of cockroach's that came flying out of a loose stone on the Northern Wall. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time. One of the most powerful spells he had cast to date.

"Well I'm not a damn cook, I don't know anything about food. Should just get military meals, they're cheap and light weight, but they taste worst than a skritt's cooking." He shuddered at the thought.

They eventually came to a stand that was selling various fruits, vegetables and large cuts of meat. Whole legs of cow hung from the metal beams and next to them were chickens and other small skinned animals ready to be used.

They scanned the merchants goods looking for anything that'll last more than two days before it spoiled. They needed to find something that'll fit each of their packs without weighing them down or taking up to much space.

The merchant caught the two eyeing his tasty wares and started moving their way.

"What are you hoping to find?" The large dark furred Charr asked loudly over the noise of the crowd.

Krulla looked up at the merchant first and moved closer to talk to him.

"We are traveling for a few days, we were hoping to find some food for a two week trip. Do you have anything that's filling, light weight and enough for a five member Warband?"

The merchant pondered the charrs request as he scratched his furry chin. He reviewed the food he had and came to a possible choice.

"Well I can think of a few things, but it'd be best to break it up into a few things instead of just one food for that long, it'll get monotonous real fast. I'm assuming you'll be resting to camp and cook?" The merchant eyed Krulla for confirmation.

"Yes, when possible" Krulla shouted his answer. The crowd was rather loud today, making it hard to talk even this close to each other.

Granger was just standing there with his arms crossed watching the two work out a deal. Less for him to deal with he figured. He had wanted nothing to do with picking out food. He wanted to go where the merchants that sold more important things, magic items and spell enhancers. That way he could be better prepared to not only destroy branded but to also have more energy to cast more spells. Each spell he casted was taxing on him, whether it was protecting his Warband or killing his foes. The enemy he'd be going up against on this mission weren't ghosts, but dragon created creatures covered in thick purple crystal. The same as their master. He needed to be fully prepared for what lay ahead and to do so was to find more information and these monstrosities and what spells hurt them more.

After while Krulla and the merchant had come to an agreement for food and cost. Krulla packed what he could in his backpack and whatever was left, into a large rut sack. He would take this back and divvy it up in to equal portions for his comrades.

Granger paid the charr, even though he didn't think it a fair price, but it was a lot of food. He let Krulla leave without him, he didn't need to be there to do such a trivial task. He could now finally go and attend to more important matters.

He made his way to he favorite section of the Citadel. Where merchants were calling out different potions or magic engravings for armor and weapons. This is where Granger could stay for hours, he could always find coin for magic and it's varies forms. He knew who he needed to see first.

Granger strolled through an ally way and walked till he came to a large metal door that was reinforced with steel bands and bolts with inscriptions running along the outside of the door frame. He could feel the magic coming off the door as if it was a hum of energy. He pushed the heavy looking door in with ease. As he walked in, the lighting was dimmer and a shade of green covered the room. Various tools and trinkets were scattered on the wall as well as wooden tables that took up most of the room. Granger looked around but could not see anyone.

"Hello?" He called out. No one answered him. He tried again, and on the second time someone from the far back of the cluttered shop gave a harsh "Silence you meat head"

"Ah, there you are Master Flukke. Was beginning to worry you finally got taken out by one of your own spells." Granger said as he ignored the comment thrown at him.

He made his way toward the back carefully trying not to knock anything over or activate any contraption. He came upon a Charr and an Asuran. The Charr was holding a vial of green glowing liquid and the asuran was carefully painting symbols on discs made of stone. Both of them wearing goggles and paying no attention to Granger as they focused on their work. Granger just watched as he understood the need for concentration when enchanting items. Especially ones from this shop.
